Margaret V. Blank
Margaret V. Blank, 87, of Elgin passed away Thursday, June 17, 2004 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. She was born on October 18, 1916 in Elgin and was the daughter of Elmer and Martha Fierke. Throughout her life, Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid bowler and bingo player, and will be dearly missed.
She was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Blank, whom she married on July 3, 1937; two children, Richard (Sandee) Blank of Elgin and Shirley Belford of Florida; three grandchildren, Kenneth (Debi) Blank, Patricia (Bradley) Weiss and Steven Belford; three great-grandchildren, Whitney and Devin Weiss and Kirk Blank; two sisters, Dorothy Groeninger of Crystal Lake, IL and Leona Vinecore of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son in infancy; one grandson, Michael Belford; one brother, Robert Fierke.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 21, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Laurence Catholic Church, Jewett and Standish St., Elgin with Rev. Joseph F. Kulak officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday in the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Wait Ross Allanson Funeral and Cremation Services, Elgin is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Chicago Chapter, 4709 Golf Rd., Suite 1015, Skokie, IL 60076.

Ione Marie Wendt
Ione Marie Wendt, nee Fischbach, 75, died May 27, 2004 after a 2 year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was a 30 year resident of Mission Viejo, CA. Ione was a very vibrant, active individual. She taught herself to swim in her early 40's, in her early 50's she went skiing for the first time and acquired her motorcycle operator's license. Then at the age of 65 she took up snowmobiling and went on snowmobile vacations each year thereafter. She was a nurturing mother, loving wife, supportive grandmother, and a caring friend who will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anna Fischbach, 3 brothers, Frank, Jr., Floyd and Alvin, and a sister Erma Ream. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Richard; 3 sons, Mark, Paul (Isabel) and John; 2 grandchildren, Grant and Alison; 2 brothers, Ralph (Doris) and Elmer "Barney" (Shirley); 2 sisters, Lois Ann "San" Egoroff, and Vera Swanson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 28th at 11:30 a.m. at the first Congregational Church of Dundee, Illinois (417 W. Main St.). Friends and family are welcome to join the family, after the service, at Floyd's Restaurant (27 South Western, Carpentersville) at 1 p.m. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the First Congregational Church of Dundee.

Cecelia A. Wiese
Cecelia A. Wiese, 90, of Elgin went to be with her lord on Thursday, June 17, 2004 at Sherman West Court, Elgin. She was born August 16, 1913 in Elgin the daughter of Joseph and Minnie Lustof Lehmann. She had been a resident of Elgin all of her life.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Elgin. She had been a Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Leader, a former member of the PTA at Gifford School and loved ceramics and was a member of Cere-d'Arts.
Surviving are her loving daughters, Marilyn McArthur of Huntley and Marlene (William) Holle of Marengo; seven grandchildren, Jacob (Mary) Bons of Elk Grove Village, Ronald (Caren) Bons of Washington, Sgt. Joseph (Jean) Bons stationed in Iraq, Kenneth (Tanya) Bons of Island Lake, Julie (David) Garret of Burlington, Jon (Lisa) Holle of IA and Sarah (Brett) Gieseke of Marengo; 20 great grandchildren and five sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry in 1973; son, Martin "Marty" Wiese; one brother, Joseph Lehmann; four sisters, Rosemary Stevens and three in infancy; granddaughter, Shiela Bons; and great granddaughter, Amy Bons; son-in-law, Floyd McArthur.
A service celebrating her life will be Monday, June 21, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Elgin with Rev. Herman Christiansen officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services, Elgin and Monday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services in the church.

Edythe L. Braddock
Edythe L. Braddock, 88, of Elgin passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2001 in the Rosewood Care Center, Elgin.
She was born Nov. 9, 1912 in Sidney, Ind., the daughter of Orb and Myrtle Marvel Silveus.
She had been a resident of Elgin from 1946 until 1966 before moving to New York and to Indiana before returning to Elgin in 1992. She had been employed by Ackemann's Dept. Store and Seller's Drug Store in Elgin before leaving the Elgin area in 1966.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elgin, a former member of Walnut Creek Church, Warsaw, Ind.; and a member of The Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #88 in Warsaw, Ind.
Survivors include three daughters, Tomalene (Kenneth) Saner of South Elgin, Nancy (Ralph) Kallenbach of Elgin and Joyce (Robert) Read of Elgin; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a niece, Phyllis (David) Manning of Warsaw, Ind.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom in 1995; and brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Frieda Silveus.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m., Thursday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, the Rev. Mike Frantz officiating. Burial will be held Saturday in Oakwood cemetery, Warsaw, Ind.
Visitation will be 7 p.m., Thursday until the time of services in the funeral home.

Edwin A. Holtz
Edwin A. Holtz, 88, of West Dundee, died Monday, June 18, 2001 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin.
He was born Feb. 8, 1913 in East Dundee, the son of Eric A. and Alma (nee Bruhn) Holtz.
He was a lifelong resident of Dundee and a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of East Dundee. He was a member of A.A.L. and a former board member of Branch #176. He was a former 40 year employee of Gromer's Supermarket of Elgin where he worked as a buyer. He was a WWII Air Force Veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Inez B. (nee Bollmann) Holtz, whom he married on Sept. 27, 1947 in Dundee; three daughters, Linda (Andrew) Olsen of Gilberts, Sandra Holtz of Evanston and Carol (Peter) Payntar of Skaneateles, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Rebecca(Michael) Bell, Eric (Tracey) Payntar,Abigail Payntar, Andy Olsen and Scott Holtz; two great-granddaughters, Carolyn and Melanie Bell; a sister-in-law, Wilma Holtz of Elgin; a brother-in-law, Bob Bollman of East Dundee; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Erwin and Raymond; and two sisters, Helen Haertel and Althea Haverkampf.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, June 23, 2001 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church of East Dundee, the Rev. William P. Yonker officiating. Burial will follow in the River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m., Friday in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee and on Saturday in the church from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immanuel 2000 Fellowship Hall Kitchen.

Velma "Kay" Zuccaro
Velma "Kay" Zuccaro, 78, of Elgin passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2001 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin.
She was born July 10, 1922 in Pomona, Kan., the daughter of Jay and Leta Foracker Adams.
She had been a resident of Elgin for the past 15 years. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church of Elgin.
Survivors include her husband, August "Gus" Zuccaro, whom she married on April 3, 1943; a daughter, Janice Zuccaro of Richmond, Ky.; a son, Charles R. (Carol) Zuccaro of Fox River Grove; two grandsons, Steven August (Laura) Rogers and Paul Michael (Tonya) Rogers; three great-grandchildren, Steven, Kyle and Marina; and a sister, Thelma McClure of Edwardsville, Kansas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister; and a brother.
Funeral Services will be 9:30 a.m., Saturday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin to St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin for Mass at 10 a.m., the Rev. Andrew Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m., Friday in the funeral home.
The family requests that flowers be omitted.

Leonard Beart
Leonard Beart, of Medford, WI, formerly a life-long resident of Elgin, IL passed away Thursday, June 20, 2002.
Arrangements are being handled with care by Conley Funeral Home, 1-800-8-CONLEY.

Dorothy "Dottie" Denzler
Dorothy "Dottie" Denzler, age 77, of Elgin passed away Monday, June 17, 2002 in her home. She was born June 27, 1924 in Chicago, the daughter of Clyde and Mae Schoen Gillies. She had been a resident of Elgin since 1970. She served in World War II as a WAVE and was stationed in Southern California.
Surviving are two sons, Richard B. Denzler of Milford, CT and Matthew S. Denzler of Elgin; two sisters, Florence Mae Vrettos of Hoffman Estates and Bonnie Denham of Spring Grove, IL; also a brother, Clyde (Marcia) Gillies of Carpentersville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard W. Denzler in 1983; two brothers, John Neal Gillies in 1945 in World War II and Thomas Hugh Gillies in 1994.
The family and close friends will have a gathering in her memory on Saturday, June 22, 2002 at 11:30 A.M. at Floyd's Restaurant, Carpentersville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Provena St. Joseph Hospital Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Laird Funeral Home, Elgin is in charge of arrangements.

Robert H. Jenson
Robert H. Jenson, age 82. Entered Eternal Life June 15, 2002. preceded in death by his beloved wife, Enid. Survived by brother William (Patricia) and his grandchildren, Todd (Laura) Grover, Leigh (Don) Cierzan, Lynn (Mark) Derse, Ann (Aaron) Sabald, and many loving great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at St. Luke's United Church of Christ, 2200 18th Ave., South Milwaukee, WI on Saturday, June 22, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. Hartson Funeral Home, Hales Corners, WI in charge of arrangements.

Charles KotelesCharles Koteles, 84 Elgin, IL died Wednesday, June 19 at Sherman West Court, Elgin.
Born March, 12 1918 in Elgin to Michael and Elizabeth (Mochi) Koteles.
He had been employed as a truck driver. He was a member of Teamster Union Chicago Independent Truck Drivers and the Loyal Order of Moose Elgin Lodge #799.
Survivors include 4 daughters, Mary (James) Bowman of Elgin, Delores (Garvin) Slone of Genoa, Theresa "Terri" (Jack) Mapes of Elgin, and Charlotte Braheny of Elgin; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, a brother, Mitchell Koteles of Elgin.
preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Doris (Keller) Koteles whom he married on Aug 5, 1937 and who preceded him on Dec. 18, 1992, a granddaughter, Catherine Braheny Rahn, 3 sisters and 1 brother.
Services and burial will be private on Saturday, June 22, at Bluff City cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, June 21, between 5-8 pm at the Wait Ross Allanson Elgin Chapel. Memorials to Provena St. Joseph Hospice or to the charity of your choice.

Anne M. Malosky
Anne M. Malosky, 78, of Elgin, passed away Wednesday in Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born March 16, 1924 in New York, New York, and was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Komada.
She is survived by two children, Michael Malosky of Houston, TX and Marian (Ted) Zmuda of St. Charles, IL; one grandchild, Matthew Zmuda of St. Charles, IL.
preceded in death by her parents; husband, Theodore in1 984; and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:45 a.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, with Rev. Joseph F. Kulak officiating. Burial will be at a later date in West Virginia. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Leukemia Society of America or St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Crane Rd., in St. Charles, IL.

Ralph W. Peterson
Ralph W. Peterson 86, of Carpentersville died Tuesday at Sherman Hospital, Elgin.
He was born in Carpentersville on October 8, 1915. He was the son of Herman & Zula (nee Hendrickson) Peterson. He was a life long resident of the area and a life long member of the First Congregational Church of Carpentersville. He was a Operating Engineer by trade and a member of Operating Engineers Local #150. He was a supporter and active in Boy Scout Troop #32 for over 50 years. He was a W.W. II Veteran having served in the United States Army, a member of the I.O.O.F. Century Lodge #492 of Carpentersville for over 60 years, and a 19 year trustee of the Dundee Township Cemeteries. He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Mildred "Millie" (nee Halliday) Peterson. They married on December 31, 1940. (1) Son: James R. (Anne) Peterson of Sleepy Hollow (1) Daughter: Sue (William) Palumbo of Plymouth, Indiana. (3) Grandchildren: Mia Palumbo, Ryan Peterson and Pamela (Sergio) Castro. He was preceded in death by his parents, (1) sister: Frances J. Peterson (1) brother: Clarence Peterson. Private Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at the Dundee Townshop West cemetery, West Dundee. The Rev. Robert Tripp will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday from 6-8pm in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Memorials may be made to Boy Scout Troop #32.
