Thomas E. Kissane
Thomas E. Kissane, 82, passed away February 1 at Alexian Brothers Hospital. He was born December 7, 1920. A World War II Veteran and 45 year resident of Carpentersville. A retired teamster and wonderful friend and mentor to many people.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mildred, his son, Ronnie Schrieber and his mother, Edith.
Surviving family includes his son, Ralph (Hollie) Kissane, daughters, Patty Hall and Gail Kissane, daughter in law, Kathy Schrieber, 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
His body is being donated to science for cancer research. A private memorial is being held.
Esther Louise Roe
Esther Louise Roe, 86, of Elgin passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2003. She was born June 16, 1917 in Gary, IN and was the daughter of Neil and Berma McDonald. Esther graduated of Emerson High School in Gary, IN in 1934. She was a member of Ambridge Methodist Church in Gary, IN and was president of the W.S.C.S. Auxiliary Club. Esther married
George A. Roe of Miller, IN on September 2, 1939 and then relocated to Elgin, IL in 1975.
Survivors include her daughter, Judith (Ronald) Stacey of Elgin, IL, a granddaughter, Leanne Louise Stacey of Austin, TX, a grandson, Robert Neil Stacey of Elgin, IL and two nephews, Robert McDonald Jr. and Dennis McDonald.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George A. Roe in 1994, two brothers, Robert Ellis and Neil Elmo McDonald.
Funeral services will be private, with the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin in charge of arrangements.
Eva P. Balke Wojcik
Eva P. Balke Wojcik, 93, of Carpentersville, died Wednesday at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. She was born in Chicago on October 21, 1909. She was a resident of the Carpentersville area for 15 years, she was a member of the Dundee Township Senior Citizens Organization and attended activities at the Besinger Community Center. She was a member of the St. Monica Church of Carpentersville.
She is survived by two children: Nancy L. Conrad of Carpentersville and Thomas (Jean) Balke of Algonquin, four grandchildren: David (Diane) Conrad of Lake In The Hills, Richard Conrad of Carpentersville, Brenda (Jerry) Stasiek of Genoa and Joseph (April) Balke of Algonquin, six great grandchildren; David and Kelli Conrad, Matt and Amanda Crawford and Kim and Walter Balke.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Thomas Balke in 1964, her second husband Walter Wojcik in 1986, two brothers, Paul and Joe Grzeca, one sister, Mamie Pokorney.
Funeral services will be on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee to St. Monica Church, Carpentersville for mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Dundee Twp. East cemetery, East Dundee. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-9 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee.
Donald C. Ebert
Donald C. Ebert, formerly of Elgin, passed away peacefully near his family on January 30, 2004 at the age of 87. He had been living in California for the past few years with his son Bruce and family. he was born May 25, 1916 in Walworth County, Wisconsin, the son of Walter and Freida Ebert. He was part of a family of 13 siblings. He retired from Shakeproof Division of Illinois Tool Works in Elgin after 30 years of employment. He was a Veteran of World War II where he was injured in combat. He was a great supporter of the United States Armed Forces and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Watch City Post 1307 and Disabled American Veterans.
Surviving are his son, Bruce (Pamela) Ebert; three grandchildren, Brent (Jenny) Ebert, Andrea and Ali Ebert, all of Rocklin, CA; a sister, Nona Eincke of Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Catherine Hickey Ebert in 1979; eleven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 9, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral and Cremation Services, Elgin Chapel, with Dr. Larry Pickens officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Fannie Egler
Fannie, Egler, 74, of Elgin passed away Saturday, February 31, 2004 in the Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born on April 6, 1929 in Sycamore, IL and was the daughter of William and Lillian Listy. Fannie had worked as a Secretary for the School District U-46 many years prior to her retirement. She loved to Embroider and Needle work.
Lifetime member of the Northern IL Steam Power Club.
Survivors are a son, George Listy of Alaska and many close family and friends.
She was preceded in death by Her Parents, and her Husband Richard Egler on Oct. 25, 2003.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 1:00 P.M. in the Liard Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be private in Maple cemetery, Kirkland, IL. Visitation will be at the time of services only.

Judith A. Fischer
Judith A. Fischer, 50, of Carpentersville died Friday, February 6, 2004 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. She was born in Watervliet, Michigan on July 25, 1953.
Judy was a life long resident of the Carpentersville area. She was a 1971 graduate of Irving Crown High School. She was employed by Discover Financial. She was a former 29 year employee of Visa-Bank One in Elgin. She was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of East Dundee.
She is survived by her son Benjamin. Her mother Theresa "Tracy" Fischer of Carpentersville, her twin brothers; John (Phyllis) Fischer of South Elgin and James (Denise) Fischer of Elgin. Her Sister-in-Law; Cindy Fischer of Carpentersville, her niece and nephews; Josh, Brad (Stephanie), Shane, Kyle, Jason, Tom and Julie (Rob Miller). Her Cousin; John (Andrea) Krei of Lake Villa. Many friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her father Alvin Carl Fischer on December 25, 1987, her brother Thomas R. Fischer on March 6, 1988 and her maternal and paternal grandparents. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, East Dundee. The Rev. William P. Yonker, Senior Pastor will officiate. Perry Pope
Perry Pope, 64, of Elgin, passed away Friday, January 30 at his home. He was born July 31, 1939 in Elgin to John and Stella (Johnson) Pope.
Perry was a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps and served aboard the U.S.S. Kearsarge. He was honorably discharged in December of 1960. He was a lifelong resident of Elgin. He was employed with the Courier News and School District 54 before retiring. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, classic movies, and spending time with family.
He is survived by his brother, Lyle Pope; his sister, Laverne Petschow; a daughter, Sandy Castelvecchi; sons, Dale Pope and David (Angie) Pope; grandchildren, Dina, Marina, Anthony, Dominic, Jaymin; and a host of family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Deloris Rowley; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Pope.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2004 from 4-6:00 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
Harold J. Meyer
Harold J. Meyer, 81, of Schaumburg, passed away February 4, 2006, at his residence. He was born November 10, 1924, the son of Joseph and Helga Meyer.
Mr. Meyer worked as truck driver in the air freight industry. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post #57 in Elgin and he loved to play bingo.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Meyer and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Merna M. (nee Chandler) to whom he had been married
for 44 years; his parents and 12 brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. David Langseth officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens cemetery in Arlington Heights.
Visitation will be held today, February 7, 2006, from 3pm-8pm at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services, 330 W. Golf Rd.,Schaumburg, IL.

Frederick C. Schuring "Fritz"
Frederick C. "Fritz" Schuring, age 71, of East Dundee died Sunday, February 5, 2006 at his home.
He was born on the family farm in East Dundee on March 12, 1934. He was the son of John and Augusta (nee Freeman) Schuring. He was a life long resident of the area and a life long member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Dundee. He was a brick mason by trade.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Barbara J. Erckfritz. They married
on August 31, 1990. Four children, Terri (Richard) Mc Quitter of Marengo, Jay B. (Terri) Schuring of Menomonee, Wisconsin, Gloria (Rob) Schulten of Carpentersville and Lori (Raymond) Czumaj of Hampshire; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. A brother, Richard (Gerri) Schuring of West Dundee; six sisters, Ruth Davidson of St. Charles, Dorothy Pedley, Marian Roepke and Betty Bruening, all of East Dundee, Carol (Jerry) Lindsay of Tucson, Arizona and Sally (Keith) Melahn of Whitewater, Wisconsin. Many nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Marlene Stowel Schuring on September 3, 1985; a son, LeRoy on November 16, 1991; and seven brothers, Jerry, James, Robert, Charles, John, Walter and Raymond.
Memorial Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, East Dundee. The Rev. William P. Yonker, Senior Pastor will officiate. Jeraldine H. "Jerry" Lancaste
Jeraldine H. "Jerry" Lancaste, 71 of Genoa, passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001 at Vencor Hospital, Sycamore.
She was born Nov. 25, 1929 in Chicago, the daughter of Raymond and Margaret Heath.

Thomas Lancaste on March 12, 1949 in Bensenville and they were residents of the Hampshire and Genoa area for many years. Mrs. Lancaste loved sewing, painting, crafting and spending time with her family.
Survivors include 16 children, Dan (Meryll) of Bensenville, Al (Audrey) of Elgin, Karen (Keith) Klucas of Apple Valley, Minn., Dave (Mary), Ron, Bill all of Genoa, Ken (Chris) of Hampshire, Barbara (Mark) Groebner of Hampshire, Mike, Paul (Vicki) all of Kingston, Jim of Marseilles, Ill., Kevin (Beth) of Ashton, Cliff (Lori) of Maple Park, Dawn (Mike) Freude, Jeff and Colt (Melissa) all of Genoa; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, ArleneKrumwiede of Kentucky.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Thomas on Oct. 18, 1998; three brothers, Bob, Raymond and Thomas; and two sisters, Wilma and Shirley.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 8 at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire, the Rev. Mark Ahrens officiating. Burial will be in the Genoa cemetery.
Visitation will be 9 to 10:30 a.m., Thursday prior to services in the funeral home.

Rodger J. Henderson
Rodger J. Henderson, 66, of South Elgin passed away Thursday, January 31, 2002 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin.
He was born December 26, 1935 in Chicago, the son of Ralph and Gertrude Rydell Henderson.
He was a graduate of Barrington High School Class of 1953. He had been a resident of South Elgin for the past 35 years. He had been employed by Flex-weld in Bartlett for 22 years and then Hoffer Plastics in South Elgin for 23 years before retiring. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in France.
Surviving are his wife, Julia Young Henderson whom he married
on March 19, 1960; three daughters, Jill (James) Altman of Keller, Texas, Carla (Jack) Keeney of Elgin and Rae Lynn (Patrick) Caskey of Elgin; four grandchildren, Janelle Oberg, Timothy Altman, Zachariah and Derek Caskey; two sisters, Lynda (Ronald) Rovelstad of South Elgin and Marcia (Gary) Kropuenske of Fairmont, Indiana; a brother, Kenneth (Janice) Henderson of Elgin; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Ralph J. Henderson.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2002 at 1 PM in Hosanna Lutheran Church, St. Charles (corner of Crane and Randall Rds) with Rev. Barry Scott officiating.

Genevieve A. Jensen
Genevieve A. Jensen, 82 of Fullerton, California former 45 year resident of Carpentersville, died Thursday, January 31, 2002 at the St. Jude Hospital in Fullerton, California. She was born in Chicago on August 4, 1919.
She was the daughter of Joseph and Rosalie Ligenza. She was a former 20 year employee of Jewel Food Store in Barrington. She was a former member of St. Monica Church in Carpentersville.
She is survived by her daughter: Barbara Heppner of Fullerton, CA, two grandchildren: Michelle Coquillard and Robert Heppner, II both of Fullerton, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert in 1982, one granddaughter: Christine Mowry in 1992, one sister: Florence Crouse and one brother: Leonard Ligenza.
Funeral Services will be Thursday at 9:15 am in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee to St. Monica Church, Carpentersville for services at 10:00 am. Dorothy J. Korte
Dorothy J. Korte, age 76, of Elgin, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2002 in the ASTA Care Center, Elgin. She was born October 30, 1925 in Elgin, the daughter of Fred and Elsie Wetzel. She had been a resident of Elgin all of her life and had been employed by School District U-46 as a bus driver and Elgin Turners Club as a cook before retiring.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Elgin and Elgin Turner's Club.
She is survived by her son, William F. (Linda) Korte of Elgin; four grandchildren, McKenzie, Brynn, Charlie and Sammy; a sister, Mary Scholl of Elgin; a brother, Wally (Charlotte) Wetzel of Elgin and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Frederick.
Memorial services will be held Friday, February 8, 2002 at 7:00 P.M. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Thomas O'Connor officiating. Burial will be private in Bluff City cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 6:00 P.M. until the time of services.
