Eugene Thomas Connor
Eugene Thomas Connor, 76 of Elgin, IL died Monday, June 24, 2002 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born August 30, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio and was the youngest of seven children of John and Madeline Klein Connor. He graduated from East Tech High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army in W.W. II. After returning from the war, he entered the University of Dayton, where he earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He married
Helen Elaine Reynolds on September 4, 1948. He worked in various engineering and sales positions before moving to Elgin, IL in 1973 to work for Black Dot Graphics in Crystal Lake, IL where he stayed for 29 years, moving up from salesman to CEO. He retired in 1999 after being diagnosed with brain cancer. He was an active member of the Elgin Country Club and St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Elgin, where he sang in the Choir for many years. He was an avid golfer and accomplished woodworker.
He was a loving father to Mark (Lillian) Connor of Charlottsville, Virginia and Mary (Andrew) Feitl and Susan Connor of Cleveland, Ohio; grandfather of six. He is also survived by one brother, Robert.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen; his sister, Geraldine and brothers, Jack, Raymond, William and Ralph.
His warmth and humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 29 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Elgin. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin and then on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the Mass at the church. Emma Clara WagnerEmma Clara Wagner, 88 of St. Charles, IL passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva, IL. Born January 22, 1914 in Elgin, Illinois to Julius and Emma (nee Jahnke) Sell.
She lived and worked in Elgin most of her life. After retirement, she volunteered for Sherman Hospital and Kishwaukee Hospital and Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by two sons, Roger (Suzanne) Wagner of Elgin, IL and Gary (Virginia) Wagner of Broomfield, Colorado; a daughter, Nancy (John) Morgan of Mitchell, South Dakota; nine grandchildren, Patrick (Laura) Morgan of Danville, California, Peter (Rachel) Tomas Morgan of South Bend, Indiana, Sheila (Arvind) Bajaj of London, U.K., Daniel (Elisabeth) Wagner of Perry, Georgia, Amy (Ben) Day of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Kelly Wagner of North Glenn, Colorado, Stephanie Wagner of Englewood, Colorado, and Carson Wagner of Broomfield, Colorado; five great-grandchildren, John and Samuel Morgan of Danville, California, Sarah and Benjamin Tomas Morgan of South Bend, Indiana and Grace Wagner of Perry, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carson Dennis Wagner to whom she married
on March 26, 1938; five brothers, Arthur, Rudolf, William, Edward and Chris; four sisters, Lillian, Hattie, Martha and Alma.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 29th, at 4:00 p.m. at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ with the Rev. Dr. Robert Kasper officiating. Friends and family are invited for fellowship at 3:00 p.m. in the church narthex.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, that memorial tributes in Emma's name be made to the Carroll Towers Social Fund, 200 N. 2nd Street, St. Charles, Illinois 60174.
Alice M. McKenzie
Alice M. McKenzie 82, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001 at Phoenix, Ariz.
She was a long time resident of the Dundee/Elgin area, an elementary school teacher for 29 years at Sunny Hill School in Carpentersville, until her retirement in 1986 when she moved to Phoenix, Ariz. She was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Elgin.
Mrs. McKenzie is survived by adaughter Lynda Barras of Chino Valley, Ariz.; two sons, Larry McKenzie of Hampshire and Roger McKenzie of Dundee; a sister, Louise Trout of Paxton, IL.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, James McKenzie of Bali, Indonesia.
Interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Indianola, Ill.
Visitation will be from 2 PM, Saturday until time of services. Memorial service will be 4 PM, Saturday in Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Margaret P. "Peggy" Peterson, 71 of West Dundee died Thursday June 28, 2001 at her home. She was born on July 2, 1929 in Joliet, IL. She was the daughter of Charles & Margaret (nee Sullivan) Pierce. 50 year resident of Dundee area. Former 15 year employee of Sherman Hospital.
She is survived by two sons, Leonard J. (Joann) Peterson of Huntley, Charles (Barb) Peterson of Cherry Valley; two daughters, Peggy (Dan) Kurowski of Algonquin and Linda (Dick) Lange of Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin; grandmother of 12, Jennifer, Rich, Ben, Kim, Michael, Jason, Patrick, Jon, Tracy, Kristen, Ryan, & Derek; great grandmother of Haley & Zachary; one sister, Della Kosch of Missouri; one sister-in-law, Joanna Pierce of Lemont.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leonard J. Peterson on Oct. 2, 1976; two sisters; three brothers.
Funeral Services will be on Saturday at 1:00p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. The Rev. Ron Woodruff will officiate. Burial will be private in the Dundee Twp. East cemetery. Marilynn Raymond, 56, of New Lisbon, WI passed away in a hospital. Born December 18, 1944.

Dorothy Hayward Rover, 86, formerly of West Dundee, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2001.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Helen Hughes and Barbara (Jean) Patton; as well as six grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Rover.

Frances Mary Struck
Frances Mary Hintz Struck, 86, of Roselle passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2001 in the Bloomingdale Pavilion Care Center.
She was born April 2, 1915 in Chicago, the daughter of Anthony and Mary Kmiec Hintz.
She had been a resident of Roselle for the past 15 years.
Survivors include two daughters,Marianne Wallace of California and Carol (Gary) Feiock of South Dakota; two sons, Gerald (Judy) Struck of Elgin and Daniel (Mary Jane) Struck of Hanover Park; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Julia Scaletta of Springfield, Mo.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; a sister, Irene Hintz; and two brothers, Louis and Stanley Hintz.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m., Sunday, July 1, 2001 in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, the Rev. Francis McDonald officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be 12 noon, Sunday until the time of services in the funeral home.
Kurt Albert Tertany
Kurt Albert Tertany 80, of Gilberts died June 27 at St. Alexius Hospital in Hoffman Estates. Born July 11, 1920 to Mile & Berta M. (Marshaun) Tertany in Reckling Hausen, German.
He lived in Holland for many years, and moved to the U.S. in 1956 with his wife, son and daughter. He became a U.S. Citizen in 1964. He owned and operated his own business in Polishing, Plating & Metal Spinning for 20 years. After he retired and sold his business, he became a school bus driver at the age of 65, he held this job until April of 2001 when he became ill. His passion was his racing pigeons, he had birds since age 7. Their boss is not coming home any more.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (nee Janssen) Tertany; son, Michael (Jacqueline) Tertany; daughter, Ele Tertany; grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Memorial funeral services will be on June 30, at 11:00 AM in the Evangelical Free Church of Crystal Lake, 575 E. Crystal Lake Avenue, Crystal Lake, IL. Pastor David Gagnon will officiate. Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee, in charge of arrangements.
Larry D. Todd
Larry D. Todd, 57, of Clinton, Ark., and a former resident of Naperville for 12 years and Elgin for 25 years, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at his home in Clinton. He was born Jan. 1, 1944, in Bremerton, Wash.
He has been a custom home builder in the Naperville area for 10 years with Anthony-Michael Builders and Todd Homes.
He is survived by two daughters, Cindy Heneghan of Geneva and Michelle (husband Steve) Warner of Naperville; five grandchildren, Justin, Christina and Michael Heneghan and Marni and Jack Warner; and his mother, Essie Keever.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank and a brother, Delbert.
A graveside service was held Saturday, June 9, at Clinton cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Iris Garden Club, Route 1, Box 241, Shirley, AR, 72153 for establishing a memorial garden at Clinton City Park and Walking Trail.

Clara Perez
Clara Perez, 58, of Elgin passed away Thursday, June 28, 2001 in her home.
She was born Aug. 17, 1942 in Elgin, the daughter of George and Emily Kobs Ross.
She was a dedicated member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Elgin, honored by the bishop for dedication to teaching CCD classes. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and friend to all.
Survivors include her husband, Rosalio Avina Perez; her mother Emily Ross; five children, Charles (Adriana) Perez,Christine Perez, Ross (Dawn) Perez, Richard (Debra) Perez and Monica Perez; seven grandchildren, Charles Avina, Ross Perez III, Kelsey Perez, GriffenPerez, Lucas Perez, Rheanna Perez and Nicholas Perez.
She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Rosemary Halle; a brother, Charles David Ross.
Funeral Mass will 10 a.m., Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elgin. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Park, West Dundee.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m., Sunday in the Stout-Madison Funeral Home, 252 S. State St., Elgin.
