passed away at Rush-Copley Medical Center, Thursday, February 2, 2006. Age 72 years.
Survived by his step-daughter, Ellen F. (Andy) Inkaya and his step-son, Raymond G. (Robin) Krassel; two grandsons, Everett Snee and Samuel Inkaya; a sister-in-law, Nettie (Howard) Willis; his special friend, Thelma Nelson.
preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Ahrens (1989); and his parents, Frank and Beatrice Ahrens.
Warren was born May 29, 1933 in Bartlett; graduate of Bartlett High School. Veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. Retired from Central Steel and Wire Co. after 28 years.
Funeral Services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Tuesday, February 7 at 10:00 AM. Interment Resurrection cemetery in Romeoville. Visitation will be held Monday from 4-8 PM.

William F. Kukla
William F. Kukla, 79, of Montgomery died Friday, February 2, 2001 in Rush-Copley Medical Center. He was born May 17, 1921 in Chicago, the son of the late Felix and Frances Kukla.
Mr. Kukla formerly lived in Glen Ellyn and Kaneville before moving to Kendall County eight years ago. He served as President of Union Local 5095 in Chicago for more than 12 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Montgomery V.F.W. Post 7452.
Survivors include his daughter, Donna (Ronald) Mielke of Montgomery; a granddaughter, Marti (Jeff) Neahring of Bristol; a grandson, Craig (Jennifer) Ashton of Montgomery; three great grandchildren, Kelsie Neahring, Matthew and Abigail Ashton; and a sister, Dorothy (Chester) Kucharzyk of Chandler, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna Kardosh Kukla; and a sister, Virginia Nowicki.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 5, 2001 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 551 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven cemetery in Hillside.
If desired, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Martha Louise Menke
Martha Louise Menke, 79, of Portland, Oregon, formerly of Elgin, IL, passed away Friday, February 2, 2001 in the Fernhill Care Center, Portland.
She was born July 15, 1921 in Union County, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur and Grace Tripp Roberts.
She had been a resident of Elgin since 1940 before moving to Portland in 1995. She had been employed by the Elgin National Watch Company for 30 years before retiring. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elgin, VFW Post 1307 Auxiliary of Elgin and Friends of Judson.
Surviving are a son, Gary Lee (Lois) Marshel of Portland; two sisters, Mae (William) Daly of Elgin and Beulah (Carl) Mauck of Wematchee, Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Menke in 1990; and a sister, Mildred Bailey.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 1 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Mike Frantz officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held Monday from 4 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Judson College.
Rodney "Hot Rod" Boettcher
Rodney "Hot Rod" Boettcher, 35, of Edwardsville, Kansas passed away Thursday, January 31, 2002 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Born November 26, 1966 in Elgin, IL.
He was a member and board member of the New Hope Christian Fellowship in Kansas City, Kansas and was a Sunday School Teacher. He was a Journeyman Lineman and Trouble Shooter for K.C.B. & L. KCPL for the past 13 years. He was a graduate of Turner High in 1985. He had attended Kansas State University. He was an avid tennis player and enjoyed all sports actively.
He is survived by a daughter, Erica Boettcher of Merriam, KS; twin brothers, Terry (Gina) Boettcher of Owensville, MO and Larry (Leslie) Boettcher of St. Louis, MO; mother, Mary (Johnnie) Kane of Kansas City, KS; father, Dennis Boettcher of Lawrence, KS and a nephew, Thomas Boettcher of Owensville, MO.

Private Interment of cremains will be on Wednesday, February 6, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at Maple Hill cemetery in Kansas City, KS. Memorial services with celebration of life will be Wednesday, February 6, 2002 at 6-7:00 P.M. at New Hope Christian Fellowship at 82nd and Kansas Avenue, Kansas City, KS. Visitation will follow from 7-9:00 P.M.
Rodger J. Henderson
Rodger J. Henderson, 66, of South Elgin passed away Thursday, January 31, 2002 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin.
He was born December 26, 1935 in Chicago, the son of Ralph and Gertrude Rydell Henderson.
He was a graduate of Barrington High School Class of 1953. He had been a resident of South Elgin for the past 35 years. He had been employed by Flex-weld in Bartlett for 22 years and then Hoffer Plastics in South Elgin for 23 years before retiring. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in France.
Surviving are his wife, Julia Young Henderson whom he married
on March 19, 1960; three daughters, Jill (James) Altman of Keller, Texas, Carla (Jack) Keeney of Elgin and Rae Lynn (Patrick) Caskey of Elgin; four grandchildren, Janelle Oberg, Timothy Altman, Zachariah and Derek Caskey; two sisters, Lynda (Ronald) Rovelstad of South Elgin and Marcia (Gary) Kropuenske of Fairmont, Indiana; a brother, Kenneth (Janice) Henderson of Elgin; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Ralph J. Henderson.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2002 at 1 PM in Hosanna Lutheran Church, St. Charles (corner of Crane and Randall Rds) with Rev. Barry Scott officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Hosanna Lutheran Church Building Fund. Laird Funeral Home, Elgin is in charge of arrangements.
William Hawley Michael
William Hawley Michael, 78, of Elgin died Saturday, February 2, 2002 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital.
He was born October 16, 1923 in Elgin and was the son of William and Marjorie Michael.
A resident of Elgin all his life. He had owned Eby-Brown Co. before retiring. He was a veteran, having served in the Marines during World War II in the South Pacific. He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1307 of Elgin, the American Legion Post #57 of Elgin, member of B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #737 of Elgin, a former member of the Board of Directors of the First National Bank and a member of the Elgin Country Club.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Maureen (Robert) Broitzman of Elgin and Anne Freeman of Elgin; a son, John (Rose) Michael of Elgin; seven grandchildren, Heather, Alison, Erinn, Matthew, Benjamin, Katherine and Jennifer; and two great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Michael.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Stephen.
Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 11 AM in St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery.
Visitation will by in the Laird Funeral Home in Elgin on Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM and then on Wednesday from 10:30 AM at the church until time of the Mass.
The omission of flowers is requested and memorials may be given to the Cancer Care Center at Provena St. Joseph Hospital or to St. Thomas More Catholic Grade School.

William E. Miller, 72, Morris, IL. passed away Monday, February 4, 2002 at home. Born September 27, 1929 in Elgin, IL. Son of Charlie & Ingaborg Sjurseth Miller. Educated in Elgin Public Schools. Served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Army of Occupation in Korea. married Patricia A. Leith on October 15, 1955 at the First Congregational Church in Elgin, IL.
Employed with Eagle Foods for 30 years as a produce manager including 20 years at Eagle Country Market in Morris retiring in 1994. He enjoyed the game of golf and wood working. Lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #1307 in Elgin, IL.
Surviving, wife Pat, Morris, IL. Two daughters, Pamela (Rand) Veerman, Normaln, IL. Sandra (John) Bednarik, Morris, IL. One son, William J. (Lisa) Miller, Morris, IL. Charles E. Doyle
Charles E. Doyle, age 74, of South Elgin, formerly St. Charles, died Sunday at Sherman West Court, Elgin.
He was born June 30, 1929 in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
He was a member of St. Patrick Church and a member of St. Charles VFW. Charles loved to sail whenever he could.
He is survived by a son, Uldis (Rita) Kalve of Glen Ellyn; a daughter, Lila (Joseph) Sanchez of Oswego; two grandchildren, Erik Kalve and Rachel Sanchez; three brothers, John (Rosalyn) Doyle of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, George Doyle of Seminole, Florida, and Joseph Doyle of North Aurora.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Zelma "Anita".
Memorial serivces will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2004 at St. Patrick Church, 408 Cedar St., St. Charles. There is no visitation. Interment will be private. Donald C. Ebert
Donald C. Ebert, formerly of Elgin, passed away peacefully near his family on January 30, 2004 at the age of 87. He had been living in California for the past few years with his son Bruce and family. he was born May 25, 1916 in Walworth County, Wisconsin, the son of Walter and Freida Ebert. He was part of a family of 13 siblings. He retired from Shakeproof Division of Illinois Tool Works in Elgin after 30 years of employment. He was a Veteran of World War II where he was injured in combat. He was a great supporter of the United States Armed Forces and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Watch City Post 1307 and Disabled American Veterans.
Surviving are his son, Bruce (Pamela) Ebert; three grandchildren, Brent (Jenny) Ebert, Andrea and Ali Ebert, all of Rocklin, CA; a sister, Nona Eincke of Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Catherine Hickey Ebert in 1979; eleven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 9, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral and Cremation Services, Elgin Chapel, with Dr. Larry Pickens officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Jane L. Meadows Shaw Gronberg, 82, of Elgin passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2004 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. She was born August 14, 1921 in Elgin, the daughter of Howard Ash and Winnifred P. Sholes Meadows. She had been a resident of Elgin for most of her life. She had been employed by Illinois Bell Telephone Co. before retiring in February 1979. She was a member of St. Hugh of Lincoln Episcopal Church of Elgin and was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Surviving are two daughters, Roberta J. (John) Adams and Lynda K. (Jim) Genz both of Elgin; her adopted daughter, Sheila M. Rose of Elgin; four grandchildren, Brian Henryson of Prospect Heights, Kevin (Gina) Henryson of Elgin, Stacey (John) Byl of Jenison, MI and Melissa (Adam) Neace of Elgin; She was "grandma Jane" to Miranda and Kevin Henryson of Elgin, Erik and Nathaniel Byl of Jenison, MI and Spencer Neace of Elgin; a Foster granddaughter, Donna (Harold) White of Mattoon, IL; a sister, Mary (Peter) Kneipper of Oxford, Wis; a brother, Howard (Leah) Meadows of Montello, Wis; she was Aunt Jane to many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert U. Shaw; and her second husband, Eldon L. Gronberg.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 8, at 11 AM at St. Hugh of Lincoln Episcopal Church (Randall Rd and W. Highland), Elgin. Rose C. Hemmingsen
Rose C. Hemmingsen, 89, of Marengo died Wednesday, Feburary 4, 2004 at Northwoods Healthcare Center, Belvidere, IL.
She was born on July 20, 1914 in Algonquin, IL the daughter of the late August and Emma Volz Gritmacker. On July 16, 1938, in Algonquin, she married
Jesse W. Hemmingsen who died on November 21, 1983.
Rose was a member of the Golden Ager's of the Moose and Ladies of the Moose, Harvard, The Marengo Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by three daughters, Alice Wagner of Marengo, Charles (Phyllis) Naugle of Monroe, MO and Harold (Patsy) Knake of Marengo; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Erna Hodek and Alice Rogman both of Algonquin.
She was also precededd in death by three brothers, Herman, Walter and Arthur Gritmaker.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2004 at Zion Lutheran Church, 412 E. Jackson St., Marengo, IL 60152 until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Glen Borbart officiating.

Albert Reed, Sr., 59, of Elgin passed away Friday, January 30, 2004 at Sherman Hospital. He was born June 14, 1944 in Olmstead, Illinois to Albert and Gloria Jean (Speller) Reed. Albert had been employed as an automobile mechanic.
Surviving are his three sons, Albert Reed, Jr. of Elgin, Cannie Reed of Rockford, and Anthony Reed of St. Louis, MO; two daughters, Cheryl Reed of St. Louis, MO, and Renee Reed of Rockford; eight grandchildren; one stepbrother, Gene (Rosetta) Speller of Elgin; one sister, Velma Reed of Elgin; many aunts, uncles neices, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
