Sylvia Vlazny
Sylvia Vlazny, 98, of Elgin, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2004 in Heritage Manor. She was born July 20, 1906 in Chicago, and was the daughter of James and Mary Vlazny. She had been employed by Continental National Insurance Co. before retiring. She had been a resident of Elgin since 1980.
She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Polashek of Elgin.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James and Raymond Vlazny.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:30 A.M. in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St, ELgin, with Rev. Charles Vitel officiating. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services.

Hannah Mary Wymore
Hannah Mary Wymore, infant daughter of Timothy and Jill Wymore, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2004 at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
Hannah was born May 15, 2004 at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. Hannah's fighting spirit and will to live has been, and continues to be, a source of inspiration to her family.
Surviving are her parents of Lake in the Hills; maternal grandmother, Jeannie (Terry) Sieben of Hampshire; aunt, Robin (Andy) Evert of Huntley; uncle, Bill (Kristy) Wymore of Hampshire and her cousins, Willy Wymore and Bailey and Noah Evert.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Bob Wymore; a cousin, Tyler Evert and great grandparents, George and Loretta Herrmann, and Norman and Maxine Wymore.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 297 E. Jefferson St., Hampshire with Father Joseph Nicolosi officiating. Burial will be in the St. Charles Borromeo cemetery in Hampshire.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hannah Mary Wymore Memorial Fund, c/o Fredrick Funeral Home, P.O. Box 445, Hampshire, IL 60140. Information call (847)683-2711.

Arthur J. Bastian Jr.
Arthur J. Bastian Jr., 72, of Streamwood, died Tuesday, July 24 in his home.
He was born July 4, 1929, the son of Arthur J. and Myrtle M. Bastian.
He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a printer by Continental Can until his retirement.
Survivors include his loving children, Judy Siegel, Steven (Kathleen) Siegel, Joanne (Dennis) Brawdy, Joyce (David) Choate, Jayne (Keith) Few; a daughter-in-law, Donna Siegel; 27 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Daisy Duke and Myrtle Albrecht.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary F. Bastian; and a son, Gary Siegel.
Funeral Services will be 12 noon, Friday in the Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 485 S. Bartlett Rd., Streamwood, Pastor Eric Bentz officiating. Entombment will be in Mt. Emblem cemetery, Elmhurst.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 12 noon, Friday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 100 W. Palatine Rd., Suite 150, Palatine, IL. 60067.

Beryl A. Berglund
Beryl A. Berglund, 87, of Willow Lakes Estates, Elgin, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2001 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin.
She was born Oct. 10, 1913 in Chicago, the daughter of Fred and EdnaAbendrodf.
She had been a resident of Willow Lakes Estates for the past 12 years.
Survivors include a son, Glenn A.Berglund of Elgin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Berglund; and a brother, HaroldAbendrodf.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m., Saturday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Private burial will be in Montrose cemetery,Chicago.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Richard C. Clavey
Richard C. Clavey, 63, of Huntley, passed away after a brief battle with lung cancer.
He was born Nov. 10, 1937 in Des Plaines, the son of Richard and Claire Clavey.
He retired from Illinois Bell after 38 years of service and started his own business, "The Right Connection".
His passion and love of harness horses led him to become a breeder and owner. He reached the highest achievement when his 2 year old colt, "Arrogant Rich" won the prestigious "Orange & Blue" in 1993. Dick was a member of the United States Trotting Association, The Illinois Harness Horsemen's Association and a member of I.B.E.W. Local 21.
He also served in the Army National Guard in the Nike Missile Division for 12 years.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Diane (Hannibal) Clavey, whom he married on Feb. 2, 1957; three children,Cindy Swanson, Douglas (Heather) Clavey and Rick (Amy) Clavey, all of Huntley; and three grandchildren, Rebecca, Adam and Derek.
A Memorial Service will be held in the First Congregational Church, located at the corner of Main & Church Sts., Huntley at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 28, 2001.
Dick loved the art of landscaping, therefore a tree will be planted at the Huntley Park District in his memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Huntley Park District, 11419 Route 47, Huntley, IL. 60142.

Herbert Henry Gathman
Herbert Henry Gathman, 91, of Elgin, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2001 in his home.
He was born Feb. 1, 1910 in Elgin, the son of Frank and Lillie Gathman.
He did Florist work for Hatches Floral Shop in Elmhurst for several years and then worked for Kenyon Farms, where he lived in the old Kenyon farmhouse for 18 years and then he was employed by School District U46 before retiring.
He was a life member of Faith United Methodist Church until he joined the Wesley United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Golden K Kiwanis Club of Elgin.
Survivors include his loving wife,Marion Ione Gathman, whom he was married to for 65 years on June 6, 2001; two sons, Robert (Carolyn) Gathman and David (Nancy) Gathman, both of Elgin; four grandsons, Jeffrey (Cindy) Gathman of Lake in the Hills, Michael (Cindy) Gathman of Genoa, Scott (Michelle) Gathman of Hinckley and Donald (Jana) Gathman of Boise, Idaho; ten great-grandchildren, Blaine, Lucia, Hayden, Kelley, Bryan, Laura, Rachel, Heather, Alexi andMacey; and a brother, Edward F. Gathman of Cerritos, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Friday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, the Rev. John Smith officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery.
Friends may call in the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and on Friday until the time of services.
Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, Elgin or to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, 410 S. Hager Ave., Barrington, IL. 60010.

Edward A. Kicinski
Edward A. Kicinski, 74, of South Elgin, formerly of Chicago, passed away Monday, July 23, 2001 in the Alderwood Health Care Center.
He was born April 28, 1927 in Detroit, Mich., the son of Stephan and Apolonia Kicinski.
He was member of St. Laurence Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia, whom he married on April 25, 1953; four children, Holly (Gary) Mika of Greenwood, Ind., Deborah (Ken) Lindgren of Carpentersville, Joseph Kicinski of South Elgin and Karen (Bruno) Mika of Darien, Ill.; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Crystal and Heather Lindgren, Jeremy andKristen Mika; a great-grandchild, Taylor Lindgren; a brother, Tony Kicinski of Burbank, Ill. and a sister, GenevieveKuklinski of Europe.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be Thursday starting with Prayers at 9:40 a.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin to St. Laurence Catholic Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Burial will be in St. Adalbert cemetery, Niles.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m., Wednesday in the funeral home.

Roy L. Larson
Roy L. Larson, beloved husband, father and grandfather, 75, of Elgin, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2001 in his summer home on Lake Vermilion in Cook, Minn.
He was born Aug. 20, 1925 in Ericksburg, Minn., the son of Oscar T. and Alma (nee Nelson) Larson.
He was a 1944 graduate of Cook High School where he was known for his basketball playing for the Cook Little Gophers. He was employed at the Cook Cooperative until 1947 when he moved to Elgin. He resided in Elgin and South Elgin for 54 years. He was the co-owner of the Lawrence Avenue Grocery in Elgin and later was employed for 35 years as a meat cutter and meat market manager at Gromer's Supermarkets in the Elgin area. He was an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 44 of South Elgin.
Survivors include his wife, Viola C. (nee Reuter) Larson, whom he married on June 26, 1948 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Elgin; his son, Steven (Susan) Larson of Libertyville; his daughter, Sally (Steven) Sargent of Glenview; two beloved grandchildren, David and Daniel Sargent of Glenview; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Fred in 1997; two brothers, Carl and Fred; and four sisters, Ellen Erickson, FlorenceJacobson, Pearl Schabert and Fern Gardner.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday in St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 220 Division St., Elgin. Burial will follow in South Elgin cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m., Friday in the Wait Ross Allanson Elgin Funeral Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin and from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday in the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 220 Division St., Elgin, IL. 60120.

Norbert W. Lipprandt
Norbert W. Lipprandt, 68, of West Dundee, died Wednesday, July 25, 2001 in his home.
He was born on Jan. 28, 1933 in Green Grove, Wis.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Dundee VFW 2298.
Survivors include four daughters, Carol Stroud of Hampshire, Peggy (Gary) Pflueger of Elgin, Donna Jean (Bruce) Strelinsky of Lake in the Hills and Tammy Domich of Elgin; a son, Steve Lipprandt of Carpentersville; seven grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two sisters, Elsie Anderson of Spencer, Wis. and Anita McKenna of Milwaukee, Wis.; and a brother, Robert (Chris) Lipprandt of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m., Saturday in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Burial will follow in the Dundee Township East cemetery, East Dundee.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Friday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Wildlife Foundation.
