John Patrick Danielek
John Patrick Danielek, 96, of Elgin, passed away Friday, August 15, 2003 in Sherman West Court, Elgin. He was born November 14, 1906 in Gilberts, IL and was the son of Bernard and Martha (Schultz) Danielek. John was a resident of the Elgin area for all of his life, and had worked as a preinter for the Courier News 47 prior to his retirement in 1963. John loved bowling and had several high 200 and 1,300 games. He enjoyed tending his garden. He loved spending time with his family and attending games of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. "Papa" will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Elgin, a 75 year member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, and a 55 year member of the Eagle's Club of Elgin.
Survivors include two children, James (Nancy) Danielek of Elgin, Donna (Robert) Breen of North Canton, OH; five grandchildren, Douglas (Deborah) Danielek, Cynthia (Steve) Westerman, Carri (Robert) Laird all of Elgin, Kim Breen of Phoenix, AZ and Jeff Breen of North Canton, OH; nine great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Rose, Stephanie, Ryan, Jessica, Jillian, Patrick, Anthony and Shaun; one great-great grandchild, Jade Sky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Viola (Wiese) Danielek in 2001, after 66 years of marriage; his sister, Ann Danielek; his brother, Frank "Mike" Danielek.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 18, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Laurence Catholic Church in Elgin, with Rev. Joseph F. Kulak officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services in the church.
Alexa Grace "Lexie" Hansen
Alexa Grace "Lexie" Hansen, infant daughter of Matthew and Amy (Thompson) Hansen, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2003 at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Lexie was born July 28, 2003 in Geneva.
Surviving are her parents of St. Charles; maternal grandparents, David and Donna Thompson of Hampshire; paternal grandparents, Charles and Cheryl Hansen of Glendale, AZ; paternal great grandfather, Harold Hansen of Phoenix, AZ and paternal great grandmother, Jenevieve Hoglund of Cottonwood, AZ; aunts, Katie (Nate) Petras of Phoenix, Melissa (Shane) Berthelot of Glendale, AZ, Jennifer (Scott) Ellis of Surprise, AZ and Hilarie (Kirk) Bowen of Phoenix; and many cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Monday, August 18, 2003 at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 297 E. Jefferson St, Hampshire with the Rev. Fr. Joseph P. Nicolosi officiating.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 PM Sunday at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire.

Audrey June Kelly
Audrey June Kelly, 79 of Grand Rapids died Friday, August 8, 2003 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 12 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids with the Rev. William Menzel officiating. Burial was in Calvary cemetery.
Audrey was born in Elgin, IL, the daughter of Mary Jane (Lenneville) and Robert Vernon Cane. She married
Ralph Kelly in Elgin in 1943. He died June 30, 1999.
Audrey and her husband owned Kelly Liquor, Wisconsin Rapids, where she also served as bookkeeper.
Audrey is survived by her daughter, Terri Sersch of Wisconsin Rapids; her son, Daniel (Sandy) Kelly of Wisconsin Rapids; three grandchildren, Stacy (Jason) Klein, Madison, Michael (Deborah) Sersch of Chicago, Andrew Sersch of Eau Claire, WI; a brother, Rupert (Marilyn) Cane, South Elgin, IL; a sister, Vivian (Kenneth) Kruse of Elgin, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother, Robert Cane; one granddaughter, Rachel Sersch.

Corrinne V. "Connie" Anderson
Corrinne V. "Connie" Anderson, 89, of Elgin passed away Saturday in Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. She was born on October 31, 1914 in Bible Grove, IL, the daughter of Herbert and Elsie Colborn. Connie graduated from Elgin High School in 1933. She had worked at the Elgin National Watch Factory, Barnetts Clothing Store and the Silbert Company. She was a member of Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren, Elgin.
She is survived by her daughter, Andrea (Edward) Christ of Denver, CO; four grandchildren, Dana (Joseph) Connell of Oak Park, IL, Richard (Toni) Mustard of Van Alstyne, TX, Kevin (Nicole) Christ of the U.S. Air Force and Dawn Christ of Lakewood, CO; seven great grandchildren, Brooke, Tori and Rick Mustard, Hannah, Emma and Elsie Connell and Tyler Christ; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; daughter, Shelda Anderson; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at 11 AM in the Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren, Elgin with Rev. Jeanne Davies and Rev. Donald Shank officiating. George T. Murphy
George T. Murphy, 81, of Elburn, formerly of Elgin, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2004 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. He was born May 19, 1923 in Kankakee County, the son of Leonard and Margaret Hayes Murphy. He had been a resident of Elgin for 20 years before moving to Elburn where he had lived for the past two years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was self employed as a truck driver before retiring.
Surviving are five children, Michael (Debra) Murphy of St. Charles, Linda (Pat) Cahoon of Elgin, Patricia (Greg) Traverso of Johnsburg, Keith Murphy of McHenry and Kevin (Jannea) Murphy of Elgin; six grandchildren, Stefanie, Bill, Alexandra, Gary, Kathy and Clarissa; and a sister, Irene Leinen of Kankakee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma Jean Murphy in 2002; two sisters, Margaret Searcy and Kay Cook; and a brother, Leonard Murphy.
Funeral Services will be Monday, August 16, 2004 at 7 PM at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 AM in St. Peter's cemetery, Clifton, Illinois. Donald E. Ott
Donald E. Ott, 74, of Batavia, IL, formerly of Elgin, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2004 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital. He was born July 3, 1930 in Elgin and was the son of Percy and Agnes Ott. He was a graduate of St. Edward High School. He had been employed by Elgin Sweeper Co. for 32 years and then for Flender Corporation for 10 more years before retiring. He moved to Winter Garden, Florida in 1994 and he worked part time for Walt Disney Animal Kingdom. He then moved to Batavia, IL in 2004. He was a veteran, having served in the Army in Korea. He attended St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Elgin, was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #799 of Elgin, the American Legion Post #57 of Elgin and was an avid bowler.
Surviving are his wife, Joan; five sons, Jay D. Ott and Jeff (Mary) Ott both of Elgin, Jody Ott of Hampshire, IL, Mike (Terri) Mayotte of Geneva, IL and Tim (Jeanna) Mayotte of Batavia, IL; 12 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lois Anderson; and two grandchildren, Timothy and Christopher Mayotte.
Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at 10:30 AM in St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Burial will be private in Union cemetery, St. Charles. Visitation will be in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin on Monday from 5 to 9 PM and then on Tuesday at the church from 10 AM until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the charity of your choice.
Laurene M. Wadman
Laurene M. Wadman, 77, of Elgin, formerly of Des Plaines, IL, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2004 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. She was born on March 20, 1927 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Harry and Anne (Erbach) Ofenloch. Laurene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be dearly missed. She was a member of St, Thomas More Catholic Church of Elgin, a member of the Provena St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary, the Willow Lakes Estates Social Club and the Sociable Camping Club.
Survivors include six children, Thomas (Victoria) Wadman of Streamwood, IL, Carol (David) McGuire of Aurora, IL, Mary (Steven) Kendall of Granville, IL, Susan Schoefernacker and William (Debbie) Wadman both of Streamwood and Nancy (James) Widlowski of Park Ridge, IL; 12 grandchildren; a brother, James (Marilyn) Ofenloch of Algonquin, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis in 2000; and her sister, Mary Ann Cerniglia.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM in the St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin. Burial will follow in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3 to 9 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and on Wednesday in the church from 9:30 AM until the time of services.
Bennie Lee
Bennie Lee, 84, of Elgin passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. He was born September 17, 1917 in Hollandale, Mississippi the son of John and Collins Lee. He had been a resident of Elgin since 1951. He was employed by Burgess-Norton Mfg. for over 40 years before retiring.
He is survived by five children, Dorothy Rogers of Elgin, Denice Lee of Elgin, Micheal Lee of Elgin, Theresa Lee (Marco Crenschaw) of Elgin and Robert Lee of Elgin; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter; five sisters, Onealia Smith, Mary E. Dumas, Bernice (Arthur) Lee-Wade all of Elgin, Tearessa Ore of Poplar Bluff, MO and Bessie M. Prat of Detroit, MI; three brothers, Robert L. Lee of Philadelphia, PA, John A. Lee of New Orleans and Albert Lee of Elgin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Juanita Lee; two brothers and a sister.

Christopher Wesley Booth
Age 3 years, of Plainfield, IL died suddenly Friday, August 16, 2002 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet, IL. He was born September 29, 1998 at Mercy Center in Aurora, IL.
He is survived by his parents, Rev. Douglas A. and Christine M. (nee Wieland) Booth of Plainfield, IL; two sisters, Jessyca and Kimberly Booth of Plainfield, IL; his maternal grandparents, James and Louise Wieland of Farmington, MO; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Elaine Booth.
Christopher attended Bonnie McBeth Learning Center, Plainfield, IL. He loved horses and was involved with Ready, Set, Ride. He will be missed by family and friends.

Cora Alyce Smith, 89, of Elgin passed away Friday, August 15, 2003 at the Rosewood Care Center, Elgin.
She was born October 14, 1913 in Marengo, Illinois, the daughter of August and Mamie Keating Hartman.
She had been a resident of Elgin since 1943 and had been employed by the Elgin National Watch Co. for 35 years before retiring. she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Elgin.
Surviving are two nephews, Robert L. (Karen) Hartman of Marengo and John (Jo) Humbracht of Tinley Park; two nieces, Mary Shipman of Malta and Pat Bennett of Poplar Grove; and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester F. Smith; three sisters, Grace Hartman, Irene Humbracht and Dorothy Wilmington; two brothers, George and Millard Hartman; and a nephew, Jon Humbracht.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 19 at 1 PM at the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 12 Noon until the time of services in the funeral home.

Edward J. Woleben
Edward J. Woleben, 77, of Elgin passed away Sunday, August 17, 2003 in his home.
He was born March 11, 1926 in Belvidere, IL, the son of James and Annabelle Woleben.
He had been a resident of Elgin most of his life and had been employed by Illinois Bell Telephone Co. for 38 years as an Account Manager before retiring. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Air Force. He loved his family, golf and R.V. traveling. He was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church, Illinois Bell Telephone Pioneers and the American Legion Post 57 of Elgin.
Surviving are his wife, Seena; three daughters, Julie (Bruce) Lenart of Elgin, Jennifer (Rich) Polek of Midlothian, Virginia and Jane (Dr. Rob) Panther of O'Conomowoc, Wisconsin; and six grandchildren, Jim, Ellen, Elizabeth, Celia, Nadilee and Cole.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jim in 1973; and two sisters, Phyllis Holden and Mary Louise Scheitlin.
Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 10 AM in St. Laurence Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph F. Kulak officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery.
Visitation will be in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin on Tuesday, from 4 to 8 PM and then at the church on Wednesday at time of Mass only.
