Charlotte E. Toberman (nee Gay)
Charlotte E. Toberman (nee Gay), 86, formerly of Carbondale, IL, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2002 in the Rosewood Care Center, Elgin.
She was born December 21, 1915 in Florissant, MO, and was the daughter of Frank and Bertha Gay.
She married
George A. Toberman on October 9, 1939 and moved to Carbondale, IL to raise her family. Charlotte was an active member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, and served as a volunteer at the Carbondale Memorial Hospital for many years.
Survivors include three sons, Robert G. (Van Ethel) Toberman of Las Cruces, NM, Richard K. (Beverly) Toberman of Dewitt, IL and Gary W. (Dee) Toberman of Carpentersville, IL; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a sister, Marguerite (Michael) Schweichs of Hartford, CT.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2002 from 3 to 8 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, 120 S. Third St. (Corner of Third and Oregon), West Dundee, IL. Funeral Services will be at the St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Carbondale, IL on Saturday, August 24, 2002 at 2 PM.
Donald N. Wilkin, D.D.S.
Dr. Donald N. Wilkin, 80, of Rock Falls died Thursday, August 15, 2002 at CGH Medical Center. He was a dentist, practicing in Rock Fals for many years.
Dr. Wilkin was born July 18, 1922 in Chicago, the son of John N. and Josephine (Becker) Wilkin.
He was a graduate of Fenwick High School, Oak Park, St. Ambrose College, Bettendorf, Iowa and Loyola College of Dentistry. He served in World War II and the Korean War. He married
Eleanor Catrambone on February 3, 1951, in Chicago. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Rock Falls, American Legion and was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 662, Sterling. He enjoyed watching and supporting all the Chicago sports teams.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Donald N. Wilkin II of Rock Falls, Stephen T. (Kristi) Wilkin of Grand Rapids, MI, Richard P. Wilkin of Ohio, David J. (Sandra I.) Wilkin of DeKalb and Paul M. (Ingrid) Wilkin of Darien; two daughters, Lenora E. Wilkin of Elgin and Marcia L. Wilkin of Rock Falls; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Wednesday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Rock Falls with Monsignor Thomas Dzielak, celebrant, officiating. A gathering of friends and family is from 5 to 8 PM with a Christian Wake Service at 8 PM, Tuesday at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials have been established to St. Andrew Church/School and CGH Health Foundation.
Peter Werner Bottgereit
Peter Werner Bottgereit, formerly of Elgin, passed away peacefully August 3, 2003 in Mesa, Arizona.
Peter began a battle with cancer three years ago and fought it every step of the way with his courage and determination.
He is survived by his wife, Sharyn, who shared twelve wonderful years with him; his daughters, Cindy Gunther and Tammy Wyatt; his son, Joe; his three beautiful grandchildren, Peyton, Madison and Carson; and his mother, Lotte, who will forever miss him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Karl.
Peter will be missed by his family, including two sons-in-law, two sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Peter's life will be August 20, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at Northlake Funeral Home, 140 E. North Avenue, Northlake, IL.

Lauren (Laurie) Ann Fryer
Lauren (Laurie) Ann Fryer, age 49, of Berlin, WI died as a result of an auto accident on Friday afternoon, August 8, 2003 in Appleton, WI.
She was born on February 20, 1954 in Franklin Park, IL, the daughter of Neil and Thelma (Hansen) Trepanier.
Laurie is survived by her husband, Jerry Fryer of Carpentersville, IL; her father, Neil Trepanier; her daughter, Kerrie Lynn Fryer of IL; five sisters, Cynthia Ann Nohl of Elgin, IL, Lisa Anne (Gary) Hanson of Belvidere, IL, Holly Anne Sanchez of Medina, WI, Gaylia Anne (Ed) Murphy of WI, and Luana Anne Sanchez of WI; her granddaughter, Margret Katherine Fryer (Maggie Kate); also other relatives and friends.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place and a gathering with the family will take place at a later date.
You have given me love and friendship few others are capable of. You have given me my best friend and sister Kerri, and for these things are precious enough there can never be an equal to what you have given me, and I will be eternally grateful. You have given me guidance to make the right decisions on many things, and you have always been there for me. I will love and remember you always. You will be missed by will always be with us.

Marion Delois Hall, born to Jennie and Beatrice Jones on December 3, 1944. Deceased August 14, 2003. Kenneth D. Kniece
Kenneth D. Kniece, 70 of South Elgin passed away Saturday at Sherman Hospital. He was born on September 15, 1932 in Elgin. He was the son of Donald and Ethel Kniece.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Eagles Club and a member of the Elgin Moose.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; three children, Kevin Kniece of South Elgin, Kendra (Kurt) Anderson of Elgin and LeRoy (Sharon) Kniece also of Elgin; seven grandchildren, Joe, Katherine, Lisa, Haley, Kyle, Greg, and Jason.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson, Justin.

Edward J. Woleben
Edward J. Woleben, 77, of Elgin passed away Sunday, August 17, 2003 in his home.
He was born March 11, 1926 in Belvidere, IL, the son of James and Annabelle Woleben.
He had been a resident of Elgin most of his life and had been employed by Illinois Bell Telephone Co. for 38 years as an Account Manager before retiring. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Air Force. He loved his family, golf and R.V. traveling. He was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church, Illinois Bell Telephone Pioneers and the American Legion Post 57 of Elgin.
Surviving are his wife, Seena; three daughters, Julie (Bruce) Lenart of Elgin, Jennifer (Rich) Polek of Midlothian, Virginia and Jane (Dr. Rob) Panther of O'Conomowoc, Wisconsin; and six grandchildren, Jim, Ellen, Elizabeth, Celia, Nadilee and Cole.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jim in 1973; and two sisters, Phyllis Holden and Mary Louise Scheitlin.
Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 10 AM in St. Laurence Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph F. Kulak officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery.
Visitation will be in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin on Tuesday, from 4 to 8 PM and then at the church on Wednesday at time of Mass only.

Aloysius "Skip" Borawski, 81, of Bartlett, formerly of Chicago, passed away Sunday, August 18, 1921, at Sherman Hospital. He was born April 8, 1921, in Chicago.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 57 in Elgin.

Survivors include one son, Brendon Collins of Des Plaines, IL; two brothers, Robert and Alan Collins; one sister, Tina Collins; her best friends Donald Prescott and Donna Shivovitch.

Bev A. Fox (Holm), 45, of Dayton, OH, formerly of Elgin, IL passed away Friday, August 16, 2002 in her home.
She was born April 18, 1957 in Elgin and was the daughter of William and Janice (Torling) Holm.
Bev was a Registered Nurse, and had worked in Woodruff, WI, Wausau, WI and Dayton, OH. She volunteered with the Humane Society, and the Endangered Animals in the Cincinnati Zoo.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Gene Fox of Dayton, OH; two children, Briana and Brenna Sherer; her parents of Sun City, AZ; two step children, Jason (Jen) Fox and Liz Fox; and her brother, John (Mary) Holm of Bartlett, IL.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 12:30 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM and on Thursday from 11:30 AM until the time of Services in the funeral home.
