Mickie Villella
Mickie Villella, 72, of Elgin, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2005 in Sycamore, IL. She was born on July 11, 1932 in Elgin and was the daughter of Joseph and Rose (Folino) Villella.
Mickie had worked at Inland Supply and Provena St. Joseph Hospital for many years, prior to her retirement.
Survivors include Ed (Betty) Villella of South Elgin; her brother-in-law, Jim Olinger of Elgin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Ada Olinger.
Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, February 4, 2005 from 5:00-8:00 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be private in South Elgin cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, February 7, 2005 in the Chapel at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin at 12:00 Noon. Memorials may be made to Provena St. Joseph Hospital or a charity of one's choice.

Harvey A. Altwies
Harvey A. Altwies, age 92, of West Dundee, died Wednesday, February 1, 2006 in Carpentersville. He was born on January 27, 1914 in Chicago, IL, the son of Ellis and Mary Edna (nee Cross) Altwies.
Harvey was a W.W. II Army Air Corps Veteran. Following his time in the military, Mr. Altwies was a resident of the Dundee area for the past 55 years. For over 30 years, he was employed as a truck driver for the Elgin Storage and Transfer Company. After which, he worked for School District #300 for 10 years. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of West Dundee.
He is survived by his son, William (Bonnie) Altwies of Batesville, AR; and a step-son, Jerry (Carole) Aggerbeck of Carpentersville; grandchildren, William Altwies Jr., Harvey Altwies II, Connie Wetzel, Holly (Kerm) Kernen, Jack Altwies, and David (Kellie) Aggerbeck; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; his sister, Mary Edna Anderson of Michigan; nephews, Tom (Carol) Jones, Ron (Diane) Jones, Chris Hansen and Jim Hansen; nieces, Jane Altwies and Barbara Altwies. He is also survived by many good and faithful friends, especially Martha Black and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 35 years, Erna M. Nygaard Altwies on August 10, 2002. They married on June 14, 1967; a step-son, Donald J. Aggerbeck in 1988; and a brother, Sherman Altwies.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:30 AM at the Dundee Township East cemetery in East Dundee. Mr. Frank Hewitt, DPM of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, West Dundee will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, West Dundee. The Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth A. Brown
Ruth A. Brown, 84, of Elgin, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2006 in Sherman Hospital. She was born April 19, 1921 in Dundee, IL, the daughter of William and Alma (Wollert) Lueck.
She had been a resident of Elgin for most of her life, working for Motorola for a brief time when she was younger. She enjoyed needle work and gardening. Ruth was a very active member at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Elgin and belonged to the Christian Women's Club.
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey Brown of DeKalb; a daughter, Paulette Brown of Elgin; grandchildren, Anna, Liz and Katy Heine; sisters, Eleanore (Bill) Whitcomb of Elgin, Irene (Joe) Swierkosz of West Dundee, Marion Kozlowski of Barrington, Alma Schultz of Elgin, and Anna (Bill) Mitchell of Arizona; brothers, David (Betty) Lueck of Carpentersville, Charles (Katie) Lueck of Elgin; and many nieces and nephews.
preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas, who passed away in 1995; sisters, Vera in infancy, twin sister, Verna Sievers and Norma Lueck; brothers, Bill, John and Robert Lueck.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 10:00 AM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00-8:00 PM in the funeral home. Memorials may be made in her name to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1111 Van St., Elgin, IL 60123.

Clarence E. Cobb
Clarence E. Cobb, 59, of Elgin, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2006 at Westlake Hospital, Melrose Park. He was born June 6, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Josephine Paterson Cobb and Tilton Cobb. He had been a resident of Elgin for many years and was a Postal Carrier at the Elgin Post Office where he started as a substitute letter carrier in 1966 before becoming a full time carrier in 1967 and continued until retiring in 2001 after 35 years of service.
Since 1979 he was a faithful member of Spates Temple Church of God in Christ, Elgin where he had a great relationship with former Pastor Superintendent Leonard Ross Spates Sr. Clarence often spoke of having the Holy Spirit guide him in addition to confessing faith in the Father and his son Jesus Christ.
He leaves to mourn his mother, Josephine of Carbondale; his daughter, Amber Soder of Lake Geneva, WI; sister, Linda (Gary) Dysarte and Margie Cobb, both of Carbondale; brother, James (Alyce) Cobb of Elgin; nieces, Nichelle and Shannon Cobb, Gina (Robert) Thomas, Ashley Dysarte, April (Maurice) Bonds, Dawn (Tony) Rogers and Crystal Cooper; nephews, William and Craig Cobb, Gary Dysarte Jr., David Cooper, Keith Cobb, Shannon (Kim) Chambers, Brandon and Ryan Cobb. Special Friends, Vivian Bailey and David Link of Elgin and Otha Davis of Springfield, IL and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 4 at Spates Temple Church of God in Christ, Elgin. Burial will be Monday in Oakland cemetery, Carbondale. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services in the church. Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services, Elgin is entrusted with arrangements.

Jeffrey Roy Hickrod
Jeffrey Roy Hickrod, 46 of Elgin, passed away Monday, January 30, 2006 at Sherman Hospital. He was born May 19, 1959 in Chicago Heights the son of James and Frances Hickrod. He had been a resident of Elgin for many years and had been employed by D.C. Cook Publishing Co. and Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services.
Surviving are his mother, Fran Hickrod; sisters, Beverly "Sue" (John) Basso and Debbie Kamphausen-Jordi (Shane); brothers, James (Dori) Hickrod, Jr., Frank (Sharon) Hickrod, Brian (Kelli) Hickrod and Stan (Kathy) Hickrod; nieces and nephews, Matt and Brad Kamphausen, Trisha, Derek, Hatti and Kori Hickrod.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1996; and brother-in-law, Ken Kamphausen in 1999.
Funeral Services will be held 12:00 NOON Saturday, February 4, 2006 at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel, Elgin with Rev. William Yonker officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:30 A.M. until the time of services. Memorials may be given to the East Dundee Fire Dept.

Larry Murrell
Larry Murrell, 57, of McHenry, Illinois died on Friday, January 27, 2006 in McHenry.
He was born on September 3, 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky to Oliver and Lona (Vincent) Murrell. He was married to Janet (Ewert) Murrell.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Cody Murrell of McHenry; two sisters, Joyce (Dennis) Henning of Louisville, Kentucky and Betty (George) Elkins of Radcliff, Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Murrell was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Roy and James Murrell.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Elgin. Larry worked for Motorola for 25 years. He also enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 4, 2006 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a memorial service immediately following at 12:00 PM at the Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry. Interment will be private.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society c/o Janet Smith, 200 S. Green Street, McHenry, Illinois 60050; or the education fund for this son c/o Janet Murrell.

Irene G. Pressel
Irene G. Pressel, 83, a former longtime resident of Willow Lake Estates Retirement Community passed away Saturday January 28, 2006.
Survived by four children, Mrs. Mary (Kurt) Tobsing, Ms. Beth Schurr, Mr. James (Kendra) Goodnow and Mr. John Goodnow; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
preceded in death by first husband, Charles N. Goodnow and second husband, Frank W. Pressel; one son, Charles N. Goodnow III; a daughter, Marguerite Worley; and one step son, Frank J. Pressel.
Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin, Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 10:00 a.m.

William "Bill" Roesler
William "Bill" Roesler, a loving husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2006, in Dallas, TX.
Bill was born in Chicago, IL in 1928. He lived in Carpentersville, IL from 1961 until 1978, when he relocated to Arlington, TX. He was a Sergeant in the Army and served overseas in Germany and Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1954. He enjoyed helping people, loved his children and took great pleasure in his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Marjorie Roesler; children, Mike (Betty) Roesler of Crystal Lake, IL, Steve Roesler of Elgin, IL, Billy (Linda) Roesler of Carpentersville, IL, Margaret (Doug) DeMuth of Carpentersville, IL, George (Erin) Admire of Fort Worth, TX, Marty (Tracy) Admire of Roselle, IL, Edward Admire of Arlington, TX, Lori (Wade) Nunez of Mooresville, NC, Mike (Elaine) Admire of Justin, TX and Blair Admire of Arlington, TX; 21 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters; and one brother.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; three brothers; two grandsons; and a daughter-in-law.
Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2006 at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 911 S. Davis, Arlington, TX. Burial at Dallas-Fort Worth National cemetery.

Anita B. Barkman
Anita B. Barkman, age 66, of Huntley, formerly of Marengo, passed away Thursday in Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born June 10, 1934 in Kearney, NE and was the daughter of Fred and Wylma Clark Pfeister.
Surviving are her seven children, Kathleen (Brian) Morris of Sugar Grove, IL, Virginia Drozek of Carpentersville, Cynthia (Wade) McLennan of Wales, Laura (Jeff) Sensor of Elgin, Richard (Sue) Drozek of Crystal Lake, Mark (Arlene) Drozek of Cary and Shaun (Katie) Barkman of Wonder Lake; and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12 NOON in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Tom Atchison officiating. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2 PM in Oakmound cemetery, Somonauk. Visitation will be held Friday from 4-9 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Kathleen Morris C/O Laird Funeral Home.

Albert L. Guthrie
Albert L. Guthrie, 79, of Streamwood for 36 years died Wednesday, January 31, 2001 at St. Alexius Hospital, Hoffman Estates.
He was born March 15, 1921 in Aledo, Ill.
A lifetime member of VFW Post #1921, Macomb, Ill, he served in the South Pacific during World War Two and in Korea. He achieved the rank of First Lieutenant and was awarded the Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters for his service as an artillery aerial observer in Korea. He also served as a small unit Commander and Unit Commander during his Army and National Guard career. Following his retirement, he indulged in his love of golf and spending time with friends. He will be missed by his family and many friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Josefin (nee Linner); his children, Michelle (Jeffrey) Pearson of Leaf River, IL, Joanne (Jeffrey) Gard of Crystal Lake, IL and Bruce Guthrie of Whitefish, Montana; and his grandchildren, Alexandra, Mallory, Kirstin, Sean, Maureen, Mitchell and Erin.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, February 3, 2001 in the Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 Greenmeadow Blvd (at Barrington Rd), Streamwood/Schaumburg. Cremation will be private.
Visitation will be Friday, February 2, 2001 from 4 to 9 PM in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to VFW Post #1921, Macomb, IL, 61455.

Olive R. Keegan
Olive R. Keegan, 89, of West Dundee died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001 in Tampa, Fla.
She was born in Naperville on July 9, 1911, the daughter of John and Mary Rechenmachern Haas.
She was a 60 year resident of the Dundee area. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, West Dundee and the Altar & Rosary Society.
Mrs. Keegan was an avid golfer and was a member of the Bonnie Dundee Ladies Golf League.
Survivors include four children, John (Bonnie) Keegan of Hampshire, Jim(Suzanne) Keegan of Elgin, Jerry (Pam) Keegan of Tampa, Fla. and Sally (Chuck) Ellison of Little Rock, Ark.; sevengrandchildren, Jay (Jamie) Keegan, Sue (Kevin) Anderson, Deb Keegan, Jeff(Stacie) Keegan, Julie Keegan, Brian (Christine) Keegan, Kathy Keegan and Josh (Lynn) Ellison; and seven great-grandchildren, Kayla and Danielle Keegan, Ryan, Michael, Kelsey and Kyle Anderson and Paige Keegan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Neil J. Keegan on Oct. 9, 1995, whom she married on May 11, 1940; nine brothers; and a sister.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Saturday in the St. Catherine of Siena Church, West Dundee. Burial will follow in the River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m., Friday in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee and on Saturday in the church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass.
Memorials may be made to the St. Catherine of Siena Church Building Fund.

Margaret J. Potter
Margaret J. (Jo, Josie, Dee Dee) Potter, 72 of Elgin, died Thursday, February 1, 2001 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital of complications associated with Rheumatoid Arthritis.
She was born on a farm 10 miles Southeast of Fairfield, IA on March 29, 1928, the daughter of Mary F. and Albert G. Droz. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1946. She had been a resident of Elgin for the past 46 years and a member of St. Laurence Church of Elgin. For a time she worked at Shurtleff's Lumber Co. of Barrington and Elgin and the Elk's Club. She had been active in the Girl Scouts of America and a member of the St. Laurence Altar and Rosary Sodality. Many who knew her said she was an inspiration to them. She always had a smile and kind word even though she was in constant pain.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert L. (Lee, Leroy) Potter of Elgin; daughter, Nancy Potter of Sleepy Hollow, IL; two sisters, Marjorie Joan Clingan of Fairfield, IA and Mary J. Werner of Santa Teresa, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Droz.
There will be no visitation. A private burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Arthritis Foundation, 303 E. Wacker Dr., Ste. 300, Chicago, IL 60601-5206, 312-616-3470, or www.arthritis.org. Laird Funeral Home, Elgin is in charge of arrangements.

Edward M. Putwen
Edward M. Putwen, 78, of Carpentersville, passed away at February 1, 2001 at Sherman Hospital.
Born October 14, 1922 in Chicago. He served in the US Air Force during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Corinne; a daughter, Christine (John) Heatley of Chicago; two sons, Edward Putwen Jr. of Carpentersville and William Hemmings of Pingree Grove; three grandchildren, Michelle and Jasun Heatley, Sierra Putwen; two great-grandchildren, Chrissy and Edwin Heatley; two brothers, Arthur of Carpentersville and Duke (Dot) of Zion, IL; and a sister, Gerri (Edward) Olinski of Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Leona.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2001 at 3 PM at Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1 PM until the time of services. Memorials may be made to the family in lieu of flowers. Arrangements were handled by Madison Funeral Home, 847-741-1128.
