David L. Bedwell
Age 45, of Streamwood, IL, died Thursday, August 22, 2002 at Central DuPage Hospital at Winfield. He was born September 4, 1956 in Chicago to Earl D. and Roberta L. (Bushman) Bedwell. He was a construction laborer.
Survived by his mother, Roberta Bedwell of Streamwood; and his brother, Dean Bedwell of Streamwood.

There will be no visitation. Graveside services at Bluff City cemetery on Monday, August 26 at 11 AM.

Father Dominic Cassidy
Father Dominic Cassidy died of natural causes in his home in Elgin, Illinois on August 16, 2002. Father Cassidy was born in Slatequarry, County Tyrone, Ireland to Ann Murphy Cassidy and John Cassidy on October 1, 1938.
He attended college at Ottawa University, Canada and Fordham University, New York City. He attended St. Paul Seminary, Ottawa, Canada and St. Paul Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota. Father Cassidy arrived in the Diocese of Davenport in 1972 and was ordained a priest of the diocese by Bishop Gerald O'Keefe on July 27, 1974. Upon ordination, Father Cassidy served as Associate Pastor in St. Mary, Clinton until his appointment as Chaplain of Mercy Hospital, Davenport in 1976. In 1980, he served St. Joseph, West Liberty and was then appointed Associate Pastor for St. Mary, Riverside and St. Mary, Ottumwa before becoming Administrator of St. Mary, Eddyville. Most recently and for over 20 years, Fr. Dominic Cassidy served as a chaplain at Provena Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin, Illinois, in the Diocese of Rockford.
Father Dom is survived by family, Annie Anderson and her daughter Nuala of Massachusetts and Rev. Hugh Starkey and the Grogan family of Ireland.
The Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday, August 23, 2002, at 11:00 A.M. in the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport, Iowa. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services in the church. Visitation will then be held in Elgin on Monday, August 26, 2002, in the Laird Funeral Home from 4-8:00 P.M and a Memorial mass will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. in the St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope cemetery, Elgin at 12:30 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Priests' Aid Society c/o The Diocese of Davenport or to Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin, IL.
Lucille W. Funk
Lucille W. Funk, 84 of Elgin passed away Wednesday, August 21 in Heritage Manor in Elgin. She was born July 3, 1918 in Gilberts and was the daughter of Charles and Augusta Meuser Bargholz. Resident of Elgin most of her life and had been employed by the Elgin National Watch Co., McGraw Edison and then the Elgin Senior Service Center - Green Thumb before retiring.
Member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Member of Women of the Moose Lodge of Elgin.
Surviving, one sister, Alice Palm of Elgin, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Mabel Beck, Dorothy Richoz, Florence Dickhaut, Jeanette Bargholz and Rose Bargholz in infancy, four brothers - Harold, Ervin, Gardner "Buck" and Wilburn "Stubby" Bargholz.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home in Elgin with Rev. Olin Sletto officiating. Burial will be in Dundee Township East cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 357 Division St., Elgin, IL 60120.

August A. Kotila, 78 of Carpentersville, died August 22, 02. He was born in Michigan. August love to fish.

Edna Morgan
Edna Morgan, 75, of Des Plaines, formerly of Streamwood, died Monday in Holy Family Hospital in Des Plaines. She was born March 3, 1927, in Walnut Ridge, AR and was the daughter of Heman and Ida Mae Judd.
Surviving are four daughters, Carol (John) Lamb of Mulberry Grove, IL, Judy Yates of South Elgin, Cathy (Bill) Banker of Marengo, IL and Lyn (Johnny) Harris of Sycamore, IL; four sons, Bill (Nancy) Morgan of Palatine, IL; Gary (Joyce) Morgan of Bloomingdale, IL; David (Robyn) Morgan of Alpharetta, GA, Dennis (Mary) Morgan of Aurora, CO; 24 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Janet Evans; one sister; four brothers and one son-in-law, Hugh Yates.
Memorial services will be held Sunday at 1:00 P.M. in the Laird Funeral Home in Elgin. Private burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Sunday from 11:00 A.M. until time of services.
Betty E. Nyman
Betty E. Nyman, 71, passed away August 10, 2002 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
She was born September 21, 1930 in Elgin, the daughter of Oscar and Gertrude (Buckhan) Byrd.
She was a long time resident of the Elgin and Carpentersville areas. She worked as a cook for many years in different businesses including the Cock-A-Doodle and Franks Pizza, and then moved to Rewey, WI where she and her husband had a bar and a restaurant for several years.
She is survived by her daughter, Lois Pegg of Ft. Smith, AK; two grandchildren Robert of MO, and Shannon of FL; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Helen (Jim) Barber of Carpentersville, and Ruth (Bill) Montany of Marengo; and many nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law, Roy Nyman; and sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Pelton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; one son, Richard; and three sisters, Dorothy, Margie and Juanita.
A memorial service will held Monday, August 26, at 11:30 in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 340 Grand Blvd., Elgin with Pastor Nayes officiating.
Private burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Wilbur Reiser
Wilbur Reiser, 82, of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of Elgin, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2002 in the Coronado House of Hospice of the Valley.
He was born December 17, 1919 in Burlington, IL the son of Joseph and Anna (Boxleitner) Reiser. He attended St. Charles Borromeo Grade School. Mr. Reiser. He attended St. Charles Borromeo Grade School. Mr. Reiser had farmed in the Hampshire area and then drove for Ludwig and Modern Dairies for 30 years. Wilbur was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and a 50 plus year member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. In 1994, he retired to Arizona.
Survivors include his wife Johanna Duyne whom he married
September 21, 1940; three sons, Wilbur Jr. of West Dundee, James (Regina) and Michael of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Scott (Lisa) Reiser of Phoenix, AZ, Eric (Kara) Reiser of Amarillo, TX, Andrea (Timothy) Ault and Amy (Robert) Kosirog of Phoenix, AZ; ten great-grandchildren, two sisters, Marcella Baumgartner of Montello, WI and Doris Willison of Clarksville, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, William, Edward, Ralph, Bernard and Alfred; and a sister, Anna Grollemond.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 26, at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 297 E. Jefferson St., Hampshire with the Rev. Joseph Nicolosi officiating. Burial will be in the St. Charles Borromeo cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire with the Rosary at 3:15 p.m.
George J. Dusold
George J. Dusold, 69 of Bradenton, Florida died Friday, July 18, 2003 at the Doctor's Hospital in Sarasota, Florida.
George was a 1952 graduate of Dundee Community High School and a former many year resident of East Dundee. He was a resident of Manatee County, FL and formerly lived in Moon Township, PA. He was an engineer and retired from Process Development & Control Co, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley (nee Suda) Dusold; two sons, Charles G. of Houston, TX and Lawrence A. of New Market, MD; four grandchildren; one sister, Carol Rogman of Belvidere, IL; one brother, Don Dusold of Ocala, FL.
Services and interment were private in Florida.

Michael J. Kawa, 49 of Elgin, IL died Thursday, August 21, 2003 at Maplewood Care Center, Elgin. He was born June 15, 1954 in Elgin to James H. and Alice (Cluchey) Kawa.
Survivors include his father and step-mother, James and Ruth Kawa of Elgin; his daughter, Brianna Judd of Aurora; his brother, James F. (Jane) Kawa of Elgin; his step-brothers, Roger Tucker of East Dundee and Charles (Elizabeth) Tucker of Maple Park, IL; his sisters, Karen A. Kawa of Chicago and Ann M. Kawa (Chris Buist) of Elgin; his step-sisters, Connie (Gene) Nelsen of Elgin and Tina (Steve) Chapman of Union, IL; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 25 at 1:00 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln National cemetery, 37034 S. Diagonal Rd., Elwood, IL. Rev. Thomas O'Connor will officiate. There will be no visitation. Please omit flowers with memorials in his name to the American Cancer Society.

Charles J. "Chuck" Kent
Charles J. "Chuck" Kent, age 64, of Elgin. Beloved husband of Anita nee Hazle. Loving father of Pamela (Edward) Parisek, Scott (Jennifer) Kent and Troy (Jennifer) Kent. Cherished grandfather of Kristina Ratcliff, Cortney, Paige, Ally, Ryan, Brandon and Jacob. Great grandfather of Anthony and Blake. Dear brother of Helene (Rene) Van Hulle, Jeanne Karlson, Linda Onbekent and brother in law of Joseph Levato. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Jeanne Onbekent and sister Mary Levato.
He was the former owner of De-Tec-Tronic Corp.

George J. Marvin
George J. Marvin, age 87, of St. Charles, died Thursday at Delnor Glen Assisted Living in St. Charles. He was born March 5, 1916 in Evanston.
George was a lifelong resident of St. Charles, having been raised on a dairy farm just west of twon and graduating from St. Charles High School in 1935.
After high school, he spent a few years adventuring, finally coming home to St. Charles to marry Jean (Illyes) Marvin. He worked as a tool and die maker for many years, retiring from Burgess Norton Manufacturing in 1986.
George lived his life to the fullest, enjoying his family and countless friends. His first love was flying and tinkering with his 1948 Cessna 120. He was a part of the Civil Air Patrol and member of the DuPage Pilots Association. Some of his fondest memories are those he made with his flying buddies.
George loved being a grandpa and his three grandsons brought him much joy. His pride and love for his "boys" was evident to everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Douglas (Jean Livingston) Marvin of Geneva; and his three grandsons, Jack, Robby, and Patrick.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Yurs Funeral Home, St. Charles, 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles. Rev. Eric VanderPloeg will officiate. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held Saturday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home (also 2:00 p.m. until the time of service Sunday).
