Joanne G. Kleker
Joanne G. Kleker, 62, of East Dundee, died Tuesday, Aug. 28,2001 in the St. Alexius Medical Center, Hoffman Estates.
She was born in Chicago, on Nov. 13, 1938, the daughter of Herbert and Barbara (nee Livingston) Guggenheim.
She was a resident of the Dundee area for 35 years. She was an employee of Carson Pirie Scott & Co. for 20 years where she worked in store management.
Survivors include her two children, Martin J. (Deborah) Kleker of Brentwood, Tenn. and Karen A. (Walter) Cain of Naperville; two granddaughters, Emma and Amanda Kleker; a sister, Janet Spears of Overland Park, Kansas; and a sister-in-law, Barbara (Don) Stewart of Country Club Hills.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee, the Rev. Thomas W. O'Connor officiating. Burial will follow in the Dundee Township East cemetery, East Dundee.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m., Friday in the funeral home.

Emily Engdahl
Emily Engdahl, 101, of Elgin, IL passed away Friday, August 29, 2003 at Rosewood Care Center of Elgin. She was born November 8, 1901 in Chicago to Henry and Minnie (Engelbrecht) Faulstich. She had been employed by the Chicago School Systems in the food services and was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Chicago.
Survivors include her son, Robert (Curlie) Engdahl of Villa Park, her daughter, Adrienne (Richard) Berna of Elgin; her brothers, Henry Faulstich of Florida and Karl Faulstich of Wisconsin, her sister, Carrie (George) Schwartz of Pennsylvania, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
preceded in death by her parents and her husband Martin E. Engdahl, whom she married
in June of 1922, and who died in October of 1971.
Funeral will be Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Wait Ross Allanson Elgin Chapel with Rev. Thomas O'Connor officiating. Burial at Memory Gardens cemetery in Arlington Heights, IL. Robert J. Olesen, Sr.
Robert J. Olesen, Sr., 77 of Manitowish Waters, WI died on Sunday, August 17, 2003 at the Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff, WI. He was born on December 7, 1925 in Pingree Grove, IL, the son of Lawrence and Ella (nee Lenz) Olesen.
He married
Eleanor A. Meuser on June 1, 1946.
He served in the South Pacific for the United States Navy in WWII, then was a fireman in Elgin, IL for 28 years before retiring in 1976 and moving to Manitowish Waters. He was an active member of the Community Church, where he went on shut-in visits, attended the men's prayer breakfasts, Madams & Sirs, and ushered. Robert also served as a volunteer firefighter for Manitowish Waters, a member of the American Legion and the Manitowish Waters Lions Club, where he served as its President.
Bob served as a Manitowish Waters Town Supervisor from 1978 to 1980 and from 1980 to 1988, he served as Town Chairman.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor of Manitowish Waters, WI; two sons, Robert Jr. (Laura) of Sterling, IL and Michael (Deborah) of Watertown, WI; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many, many children who called him "Grandpa"; one sister, Arlene (Robert) Larsen of Clearwater, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Della Voigts.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, September 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the Manitowish Waters Presbyterian Community Church.

1939-2003
Ignacio Soto, 64, of Aurora, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2003 in Texas. He was born April 2, 1939 in Mexico.
He is survived by wife Maria Eugenia Soto; six children, Felipe Soto, Carmen (Robert) Morin, Susan Soto, Ignacio Soto, Jr., Emmanuel Soto, Laura Soto; two grandchildren, Mia Morin and Robert Morin II; one brother Edwardo (Rafaela) Perez; his first wife, Trinidad Rodriguez.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2003 at 9:30 a.m. from THE DALEIDEN LAKE STREET MORTUARY to St. Rita of Cascia Church at 10 a.m. Fr. David Engbarth will officiate with interment in St. Joseph cemetery.

Heide H. Wilson
Heide H. Wilson, 60 of East Dundee died Thursday at her home. She was born in Flammersfeld, Germany on September 26, 1942.
Heide was raised in Duesseldorf, Germany and completed her business training with Mannesman. She studied English in London, England. She had a very full and successful professional career which included being an Auslandskorres-pondentin with General Steamship and Navigation in Duesseldorf and later as an Executive Assistant with Volkswagen, USA. Heide immigrated to the United States in 1965. Over the years, Heide has traveled extensively and has lived in England, Martinique in the French West Indies, New York, and New Jersey. She has been a resident of East Dundee since 1981. She was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Dundee. Heide volunteered her time at the various schools which her children attended and for local community organizations.
She is survived by her husband, Robert B. Wilson, whom she married
in Duesseldorf, Germany while he was the civilian liaison officer to the intelligence and security agencies of the North Rhein-Westphalia and other allied governments; her children, Martina (Matt) Scanlan of Moraga, CA and the twins, Michael wilson of San Francisco, CA and Natalie Wilson of Chicago; two grandchildren, Kellen and Emma Scanlan of Moraga, CA; manny good and close friends in all the communities where she lived.
Family and friends will meet for funeral services on Tuesdday at 11:00 a.m. in the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 310 E. Main Street in East Dundee. The Rev. William P. Yonker, Senior Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bluff City cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Dorothy E. Dorwaldt
Dorothy E. Dorwaldt, 91, of Elgin passed away Friday, August 27, 2004 at Alderwood Health Care Center, South Elgin. She was born September 22, 1912 in Elgin, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Kieler Kane. She had been a resident of Elgin and South Elgin all of her life. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ of Elgin and loved to play bingo as often as possible.
Surviving are two daughters, Dorothy Warner of Elgin and Susan E. (Ronald) Flora of Tomball, Texas; a son, Edward Dorwaldt of Elgin; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Janet Dorwaldt of Rochelle, IL and Ruth Dorwaldt of Elgin; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward "Shorty" Dorwaldt; son, Larry Dorwaldt; granddaughter, Michelle Flora; grandson, Edward Dorwaldt; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at 12 NOON at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Dr. Robert Kasper officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of services in the funeral home.
Pearl L. Gerberding
Pearl L. Gerberding, 98 of Elgin passed away Monday, August 30, 2004 at Apostolic Christian Resthaven Nursing Home, Elgin. She was born July 5, 1906 in Stanley, WI, the daughter of Charles A. and Augusta Carlson.
She has been a resident of Elgin for most of her life. She was employed at the Elgin National Watch Company. and then Ben Franklin in Sunset Park, before retiring.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Elgin. She loved to read and was a good cook.
Surviving are four daughters, June (Erhard) Moosmann of Williamsville, NY, Joan Carlson (Dean Terrell) of Elgin, Jean (Larry) Braasch of Dundee, and Janice (Allen) Schultz of Elgin; ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and her special dog, Abbie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy on February 11, 1984; three brothers; and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, with Rev. Martin Balzer, officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Apostolic Resthaven Nursing Home.
John Chapell Getzelman
John Chapell Getzelman, born November 26, 1942 in Oak Park, Illinois, the son of Benjamin Chapell Getzelman and Nancy Fedou Getzelman, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2004 in Palos Verdes, California. John was raised in Algonquin, Illinois and attended the University of Colorado in Boulder where he received his Bachelor's Degree in International Banking and later his MBA at the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado. After college he married
his beautiful wife, Rita Garvey from Denver, Colorado in 1963. Rita and John lived in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the Philippines and Hong Kong and loved to travel the world. John was strongly admired as an international banker and financier for most of his life. John was a member of several board of directors, including the Richstone Foundation, El Camino College Foundation, the House Ear Institute and Operation Hope.
He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
John is survived by his wife, Rita; three children, Jack, Anne and David; and grandson, Connor, child of Jack and Kirsten. He is also survived by his sister, Gwen Sutfin of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Services will be held at St. John the Fisher Catholic Church, 10 AM Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at 5448 Crest Rd., Rancho Palos Verdes, California, with interment following at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Robert L. Hall
Robert, a resident of Elgin, Illinois, until January 2003, peacefully departed this world at the age of 88 on August 26, 2004. He has now joined his beloved wife, Helen; parents, Hattie and Harry; siblings, Clarence and Marianne as well as many other family members and loving friends.
As a young man, Robert won Championships at table-tennis and golf. He won his first Elgin City Golf Title at the age of 17 and continued on to win countless more tournaments across the state of Illinois from 1933 to 1953. Robert was known for his tenacious competitiveness in anything he endeavored. He also excelled at pistol shooting, three-cushion billiards and bridge.
He worked at the Elgin National Watch Factory from 1936 until it ceased operations in Elgin. Next, he became a Kane County Bailiff in Geneva, finally retiring at age 65. Robert was a lifetime member of the Elgin Elks and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #799.
In January, Robert moved to Ft. Myers, FL due to failing health and to spend his remaining time with his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Mac Churchill. He resided at the Grand Court in an apartment for several months, then moved to ENCORE Senior Village where he made many new friends and where he could receive twenty-four hour care from the most caring, loving people anyone could hope to meet. The best part of his move to Florida was the nearly daily visits and outings with Judy and Mac. We were all blessed to have that time together.
At his request, Robert will be cremated, placed in an urn and returned to Elgin's Bluff City cemetery to be buried next to Helen. Ann L. Krabbe
Ann L. Krabbe, 94 of Elgin passed away Monday, August 30, 2004 at Rosewood Care Center, Elgin. She was born August 11, 1910 in Elgin, the daughter of David and Christiana Wagner Barth.
She had been a resident of Elgin and Carpentersville all of her life. She had been employed by Elgin National Watch Co. for 40 years before retiring.
Surviving are many nieces and nephews, including Ann Olson of Mequon, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert Krabbe on December 7, 1969; four sisters, Hilda Pester, Caroline Hansen, Edith and Frieda Barth; six brothers, William, Fred, Carl, Gustav, Herman, and David Barth, Jr.
Private graveside services will be held Wednesday in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be givento the charity of one's choice. Laird Funeral Home, Elgin is in charge of arrangements.
Helen Lucille Stowell
Helen Lucille Stowell, 100, of Elgin passed away Sunday, August 29, 2004 in the Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion, Sandwich, IL. She was born on August 18, 1904 in West Chicago, IL and was the daughter of James and Catherine (Tracey) Trainer.
Helen was a graduate of Northern Teachers College, DeKalb, IL and taught in the Elgin School District, Huff and Gifford Schools, for 20 years. Her hobbies were golf, cards, and meeting with friends. Helen was a Cubs fan and attended many games.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Elgin, IL.
She is survived by her cousins and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clayton on March 28, 1967; her son, James T. Stowell on December 17, 1993; and her sister, Marie Poppe on September 4, 1988.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at 11:30 a.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services in the funeral home. Masses would be appreciated to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
