Emily L. Schweitzer
Emily L. Schweitzer, 89, of West Dundee died Saturday, September 1, 2001 at the Rosewood Care Center, Elgin.
She was born in Chicago on October 27, 1911, the daughter of Edmund O. and Lillian L. (nee Merz) Schweitzer.
She was a 47 year resident of the Dundee area, and was a nationally renowned breeder of Irish Setters. Emily was always respected and endeared for generosity to people and animals. The Anderson Animal Shelter exists today because of her interest and the donation of the land upon which it rests.
She is survived by her sister, Evelyn S. (John) Strepek of West Dundee; a nephew, Edmund O. Schweitzer, III of Pullman, Washington; two nieces, Jean Schweitzer of Seattle, Washington and Marilyn (Michael Firman) Schweitzer of Naperville; and a sister-in-law, Thelma Schweitzer of Northbrook. Emily is also survived by many dear friends especially Mary Zimmerman of Barrington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Edmund O. Schweitzer, Jr.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday at 11 AM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Interment will follow in the Graceland cemetery, Chicago.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 9 AM until time of Services.

Richard C. Sinnett, Sr.
Richard C. Sinnett, Sr., 87, of Elgin passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2001in his home.
He was born December 28, 1913 in Elgin, the son of Percy and Ann (Wagner) Sinnett.
Richard had worked for Lamp Construction until 1963 when he formed Sinnett Builders and was the Owner/Operator until his retirement. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He was Past President of the Fox Valley General Contractors Association and Past President of the Elgin Country Club.
Survivors include three sons, Richard (Karen) and David (Ann) Sinnett both of Elgin and Dennis (Rosie) Sinnett of Fort Collins, CO; ten grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen (Ford) Sinnett in November of 1994; and his sister, Lenore Dalieden.
Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2001 at 6:30 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Thomas O'Connor officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be on Wednesday starting at 4 PM until the time of Services in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fox Valley Hospice or Hospice of Provena St. Joseph Hospital.
Irene M. Wille
Irene M. Wille, 69, of Huntley, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2001 in her home.
She was born November 19, 1931 in Huntley, the daughter of William and Marie (Schmidt) Peterson. Irene was a 1949 graduate of Huntley High School and married
Otto R. Wille on December 9, 1950 in Crystal Lake. Mrs. Wille lived in Huntley almost all her life and was employed by Oak Industries of Crystal Lake for nearly 30 years. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Huntley.
Surviving are seven children, Sue (Barrie) Henkel of Cary, Sandy (Randy) Tegtman of Cape Coral, FL, Otto Jr. (Karen) Wille of Crystal Lake, Katie Szekeres of Huntley, Dave (Lori) Wille of Crystal Lake, Kelly (Dale) Westphal of Wonder Lake and Jodi (D.J.) Schultz of Crystal Lake; 13 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, Jean Kastning of Monticello, IN, Doris (Bob) Pleva of Cary, Tom (Judy) Peterson, Lois (Joe) Grasser, Willy (Georgia) Peterson, Judy (Warren) Thomas all of Woodstock and Tish (Joe) Briarton of Lakeland, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Otto on August 10, 1994, three brothers; and a sister.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, September 6, 2001 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 11008 N. Church St., Huntley with the Rev. Charles W. Kittel officiating. Burial will be in the Huntley cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday at the James A. O'Connor Funeral Home, 11602 E. Main St., Huntley and at the church prior to Service from 10 to 11 AM.
Memorials in her name may be directed to the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois.
Robert W. Deem
Robert W. Deem, 73, of Elgin, IL passed away Monday, September 2, 2002 in his home.
He was born March 25, 1929 in Los Angeles, CA, the son of Glenn and Beverly Self Deem.
He was a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Masters Degree in Education. He was a resident of Elgin for 28 years before moving to Adams-Friendship, WI and returning to Elgin in November of 2001. He was employed by School District U-46 at Ellis Junior High School in the Science Department for several years and then was Co-ordinator of Math and Science for U-46 before retiring and also was Director of Outdoor Education for the school district. He was a very active member of Wesley United Methodist Church of Elgin and Trinity Congregational Church, Adams, WI. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Adams, WI.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Sterenberg Deem whom he married
on September 23, 1951; three daughters, Julia (Sam) Switzer of Elgin, Laurel Banwart of Belvidere and Sandra (Henry) Behning of Elgin; two sons, Barton (Sarah) Deem of San Diego, CA and Jeffrey Deem of Huntley, IL; ten grandchildren, Chelsea, Rachel, Rob, Jill, Andrew, Amy, Guy, Jackie, Jessica and Lynsey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Donald Deem.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 11 AM at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1070 South St., Elgin with Rev. Sung Ja Lee Moon officiating. Burial will be in Plato Center cemetery, Plato Center.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and Thursday from 10:30 AM until the time of services in the church.
Memorials may be given to Wesley United Methodist Church.
Louis C. Hodel
Louis C. Hodel, 88, of Elgin passed away Saturday, August 31, 2002 in the Apostolic Christian Resthaven, Elgin.
He was born April 28, 1914 in Chicago, IL and was the son of William and Johanna Hodel.
A resident of Elgin for many years, he owned and operated Hodel Upholstery in Elgin, and then had been employed by North American Van Lines before retiring. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Elgin, where he had served on the Church Council and a member of the Challengers. He was a member of the Elgin Marine Club.
Survivors include his wife, Marie, whom he married
on April 11, 1941; two daughters, Bonnie (Dave) Starr and Betty (Lyle) Dolan both of Elgin; two grandchildren, Kim (Steve) Wascher and Matt (Stephanie) Starr; three great grandchildren, Ryan Englehardt, Evan Starr and Jacob Wascher; three sisters, Rose Hodel of Naperville, IL, Irma (Richard) MacFagen of Waterman, IL and Barb (Jack) Grahovec of Naperville, IL; three brothers, Otto (Karen) Hodel of WI, Arnold (Kaye) Hodel of AR and Fred Hodel of Naperville, IL.
He was preceded by his parents; and two brothers.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at 11:30 AM in the St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Elgin with Rev. Dr. Robert Kasper officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, and on Wednesday in the church from 11 AM until the time of Services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Apostolic Christian Resthaven or St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
Louise A. Mattocks
Louise A. Mattocks, 78, of Elgin, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2002 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin.
She was born July 5, 1924 in Elgin and was the daughter of Laredo and Salvitrice (Salvitore) Cirrincone.
A resident of Elgin for all of her life, Louise had worked at the Elgin National Watch Factory for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Walter of Elgin whom she married
on July 7, 1950; and by many close family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 12 Noon in the St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin with Rev. Joseph F. Kulak officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin.
Visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 6 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Laurence Building Fund.
Ruth Messler
Ruth Messler, 85, of Elgin passed away Sunday, September 1, 2002 at Manor Care, Elgin.
She was born March 14, 1917 in Chattanooga TN, the daughter of William and Anna Blietz Meier.
She lived in Elgin most of her life and retired from Hoffer Plastic in 1982.
Survivors include two sons, Robert (Barbara) of Downers Grove and Kenneth (Linda) of Elgin; a daughter, Phyllis (John) Dove of Hampshire; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, George in 1988.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at 10 AM in the Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin with Rev. John Hyde officiating. Burial will be in Dundee Township cemetery East, East Dundee.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM at Madison Funeral Home.

Austin Mitchell
Austin Mitchell, 86, of Elgin passed away Friday, August 30, 2002 at Kindrad Hospital, Sycamore.
He was born January 23, 1916 on Genoa, the son of Archibald and Ada Mae Austin Mitchell.
He was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church, Elgin. He was owner of Austin Mitchell Real Estate and Insurance since 1944, was one of the original members of Elgin Board of Realtors, was one of the founders and Vice President of Lincoln State Bank (Elgin State Bank) and was active in many civic and charitable organizations. He was active in Fox Valley Model T Club, in the Elgin Masonic Lodge #117 AM and AF and Elgin Shriners Club.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Elly; a daughter, Bonnie (Gerald) Baumann of Ingleside; a son, Gary (Vicki) Mitchell of Elgin; two grandsons, Matthew and Michael of Ingleside; a sister; a brother; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother.
Private Funeral Services were held at Madison Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial was private also.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital or Evangelical Covenant Church, Elgin.
