Michael J. Mitchell I
Michael J. Mitcheel I, age 92, died Wednesday, September 2, 2004 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. Mass for the Christian burial will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, September 4, 2004 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Algonquin. Rev. Fr. Michael J. Tierney will officiate.
Mr. Mitchell was born June 28, 1912 in Calumet City, the son of Paul and Anna (Pietras) Muschelewicz. In August 1935, he was married
to Loretta Smith.
He was one of the original All State Insurance agents and helped pioneer the company. Prior to moving to Algonquin, he was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Elgin where he served as an usher for many years and was also past president of the church council. He was a member of the Fraternal order of Eagles, Elks Lodge 737, Elgin; member of the Knights of Columbus (Grand Knight 4th Degree); patron of the Elgin Symphony and a member of the board; served on the board of Catholic Charities; and was an honorary member of the Elgin Kiwanis Club. He was a part of the K C Choraleers. After they disbanded, he formed the singing group "Octave Plus," which sang for many functions in and around Elgin and at local nursing homes. He served as commander for the Civil Defense during WWII. He was also a member of St. Margaret Mary Church, Algonquin.
Surviving are two sons, Michael J., Jr., of Algonquin, and David Wayne, of Carpentersville; three daughters, Ruth (Jack) Bolger, of Algonquin, Deborah (Steve) Salmond, of Hugesville, MD, and Mary Fisher, of West Dundee; one brother, James, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; eighteen grandchildren, Michael J. III, Patricia, Peter, Susan, Tim, Tracy, Chris, Haren, Heather, Melissa, T.J., Nicholas, Sarah, Bill, Bryan, Rita, Casey, and Jamie; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Loretta; seven brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Friday, September 3, 2004 at Wait-Ross-Allanson Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel, 201 S. Main St., Algonquin. Memorials may be made to CDLS Foundation.
Richard P. "Dick" Morgan
Richard P. "Dick" Morgan, 52, of Carpentersville died Thursday August 26, 2004 at Sherman Hospital. He was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin on May 6, 1952. He was a graduate of Dundee Community High School and a graduate of Aurora University where he earned his Bachelors degree in Social Work. He was a former 25 year employee of the Elgin Mental Health Center where he worked as a case worker.
He is survived by his mother Kathleen "Kathy" Morgan of Carpentersville. His sister; Peggy Morgan-Tackett of Wisconsin and his niece; Carrie Kwasniewski also of Wisconsin. His beloved dog, Francis also survives. He was preceded in death by his father; Gerald E. "Red" Morgan. Memorial Services celebrating his life will be held on Sunday September 5, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Interment will be private. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until time of service.

Amy I. Anderson
Amy I. Anderson, 86, of Elgin, formerly of Geneva, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2001 at the Apostolic Christian Resthaven in Elgin.
She was born December 1, 1914 in Elburn, IL, the daughter of Victor and Myrtle (nee Johnson) Flint.
She married
her husband, the late Gunnar Anderson, on February 17, 1934. Mr. Anderson passed away in 1993. Mrs. Anderson was a member of Geneva Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna (Gerald) Peddy of Elgin, IL and Marilyn (Gardner) Van Dyke of Bella Vista, AR; a sister, Pauline Peterson of Geneva; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and her dear friend and caregiver, Galyna Khromyk of Elgin, IL.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald; and a great grandson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, September 5, 2001 at the Geneva Lutheran Church, 301 S. Third St., Geneva, IL with the Reverend Paul Hammar officiating. Interment will be in North cemetery in St. Charles, IL.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

James A. Ginnell
James A. Ginnell, 85, of Elgin, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2001 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital.
He was born March 22, 1916 in Elgin, the son of John J. and Marguerite (Brayman) Ginnell.
Jim was a veteran stationed in North Africa and Anzio Beach Head, Italy, with the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II. He had worked for the Elgin Sanitary District for 23 years and then worked for School District U-46 ten more years prior to his retirement. He was a 60 + year member of the Elgin Pigeon Club, a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge # 799.
Survivors include a sister, Mary (Jerry) Prachar of Algonquin, IL; his close friend and companion, Ruth Porter of Elgin; and many close family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beatrice (Bochum) in 1993; his brother, John P. Ginnell; and two sisters, Kathryn Leitner and Margaret Ginnell.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Dominic Cassidy officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Laurence Building Renovation Fund.
Jerry Richard Pageloff II
Jerry Richard Pageloff II, 33, of Marshall, Wisconsin, died Saturday, September 1, 2001 near Christina, Wisconsin of injuries from an automobile accident.
He was born December 2, 1967 in Rockford, IL, the son of Jerry R. and Nancy (Gitchell) Pageloff.
He lived the last eight years in Marshall, Wisconsin moving there from Rockford. Formerly employed as labor by Perry-Judds Company, Marshal, Wisconsin. Jerry was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and University of Wisconsin Badger Football teams. He loved rock and roll music, enjoyed fishing and loved children. He attended Rockford school.
Survivors include his mother, Nancy Serrano of Rockford; his father, Jerry R. Pageloff of Belvidere; five sisters, Donna (Thom) Adams of Rockford, Darlene (Karl) Seger of Rockford, Julie (Pedro) Flores of Elgin, Joyce (Roberto) Tirado of Elkhart, IN and Misty (Saul) Lopez of Rockford; two half brothers; 13 nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Tom and Betty McCoy of Marshall, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Shirley Majkut; grandfather, Frank Majkut; and aunt, Elma Recoy.
Funeral Services will be at 2 PM Wednesday, September 5, 2001 in the Kenneth L. Countryman Funeral Home, Ltd, 529 Washington St., Pecatonica with Rev. Tom Kingery, Pastor of Pecatonica United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Twelve Mile Grove cemetery, Pecatonica.
Visitation from 1 PM to service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Richard C. Sinnett, Sr.
Richard C. Sinnett, Sr., 87, of Elgin passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2001in his home.
He was born December 28, 1913 in Elgin, the son of Percy and Ann (Wagner) Sinnett.
Richard had worked for Lamp Construction until 1963 when he formed Sinnett Builders and was the Owner/Operator until his retirement. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He was Past President of the Fox Valley General Contractors Association and Past President of the Elgin Country Club.
Survivors include three sons, Richard (Karen) and David (Ann) Sinnett both of Elgin and Dennis (Rosie) Sinnett of Fort Collins, CO; ten grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen (Ford) Sinnett in November of 1994; and his sister, Lenore Dalieden.
Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2001 at 6:30 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Thomas O'Connor officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be on Wednesday starting at 4 PM until the time of Services in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fox Valley Hospice or Hospice of Provena St. Joseph Hospital.
Floyd R. Curry
Floyd Curry, 81, of Elgin passed away August 30, 2002. He was born October 3, 1920 in Decatur, IL. The son of Floyd Sr. and Anna Curry.
He married
Betty Ballinger on May 3, 1942 in Decatur. A Western Electric retiree, Floyd lived in Elgin for 28 years. He and Betty belonged to the Spring Hill Mall Walkers. Floyd was a navy veteran of World War II.
Floyd is survived by his wife, a daughter, 2 granddaughters and 2 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at Graceland cemetery, Decatur, IL, September 6, 2002. Family wishes memorial to be made to the Provena St. Joseph Hospital Foundation for the Care-a-van.
Robert W. Deem
Robert W. Deem, 73, of Elgin, IL passed away Monday, September 2, 2002 in his home.
He was born March 25, 1929 in Los Angeles, CA, the son of Glenn and Beverly Self Deem.
He was a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Masters Degree in Education. He was a resident of Elgin for 28 years before moving to Adams-Friendship, WI and returning to Elgin in November of 2001. He was employed by School District U-46 at Ellis Junior High School in the Science Department for several years and then was Co-ordinator of Math and Science for U-46 before retiring and also was Director of Outdoor Education for the school district. He was a very active member of Wesley United Methodist Church of Elgin and Trinity Congregational Church, Adams, WI. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Adams, WI.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Sterenberg Deem whom he married
on September 23, 1951; three daughters, Julia (Sam) Switzer of Elgin, Laurel Banwart of Belvidere and Sandra (Henry) Behning of Elgin; two sons, Barton (Sarah) Deem of San Diego, CA and Jeffrey Deem of Huntley, IL; ten grandchildren, Chelsea, Rachel, Rob, Jill, Andrew, Amy, Guy, Jackie, Jessica and Lynsey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Donald Deem.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 11 AM at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1070 South St., Elgin with Rev. Sung Ja Lee Moon officiating. Burial will be in Plato Center cemetery, Plato Center.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and Thursday from 10:30 AM until the time of services in the church.
Memorials may be given to Wesley United Methodist Church.
Dorothy Ann Holmes
Dorothy Ann Holmes, age 80, of Frisco, Texas, formerly of Elgin, IL and Boothbay, Maine, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2002. She was born November 19, 1921 in Elgin, Illinois to Clifford F. and Stina Ingaborg Sophia (Carlstrom) Juby.
Dorothy was a 1940 graduate of Elgin High School. She married
Lt. Robert W. Holmes on March 4, 1945. She was a mother of two and worked in banking, first in Elgin, IL and then later in Boothbay, Maine. She was a member of the Boothbay Chamber of Commerce. We will all greatly miss her. Goodbye, Mom.
She is survived by: her sons, Eric (Pamela) Holmes of Ava, Illinois and Steve (Susan) Holmes of Frisco, Texas; her grandson, Michael (Santana) Holmes of Dallas, Texas; her brother, Robert C. (Mary) Juby of Elgin, Illinois; and her sister, Barbara (Willard C.) Perkins of Merritt Island, Florida and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on February 4, 2002.
Graveside services will be on Friday, September 6, 2002 at Bluff City cemetery with the Rev. Thomas Atamian of St. Hugh of Lincoln Episcopal Church officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 5, 2002, from 5-8PM at Wait-Ross-Allanson Funeral Service, Inc., 51 Center Street, Elgin, Illinois 60120.
