Nancy A. Page
Nancy A. Page, 71, of East Dundee, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2001 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin.
She was born in Elgin on Dec. 10, 1929, the daughter of Frank and Alice (nee Gile) Rosborough.
Nancy was a lifelong resident of the Dundee and Elgin areas. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Elgin. She was a former 36 year employee of School District #300 Transportation Department where she worked as a bus driver and bus route dispatcher.
Survivors include four children, Terrill Page of Carpentersville, Michael (Mary) Page of Wisconsin, Hilery Page of East Dundee and Stacy (William) Gahlbeck of East Dundee; four grandchildren, Kelly, Joshua, Amy and Zachary; five great-grandchildren, Steven, Brandon, Dalton, Jacob and Hanna; and a brother, Frank (Gayle) Rosborough, Jr. of Elgin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, LaVerne "Hozie" Page in 1984; and a sister, Barbara Thiede.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 14 in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee, the Rev. Peter Boeve officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Washington Reformed cemetery, Elgin.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m., Thursday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Louis Stone
Louis Stone, age 77, of Carpentersville, passed away September 11, 2001.
Beloved husband of Jo Ann (nee Bowker). Loving father of Barbara Beatty, David (Janice) and Samuel Stone. Dear grandfather of Sherri (Kip) Bauer, Terri (Mark) West and Steven (Tina) Beatty; great grandfather of eight. Fond brother of Sam (Ruth) Stone.
preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Rose Stone; granddaughter, Christine.
Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Erna Tegtmeier
Erna Tegtmeier, 95, of Elgin, passed away Sept. 7, 2001 at Carrington Health Care Center, Elgin.
She was born Oct. 24, 1905 in Elgin, the daughter, Herman and Hulda Harks Timm.
She was lifelong member of St. Paul's Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Fred (Nancy) of Oklahoma; several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bobby; a daughter, Doris Smith; and a son-in-law, John M. Smith.
Private Graveside services will be held Washington McQueen cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Madison Funeral Home, Elgin.

James R. Wood
James R. Wood, 55, of Elgin passed away Monday, Sept. 10, 2001 in his home.
He was born in Morris, Ill., the son of Raymond and Cecelia Trenter Quiroz.
He had been a resident of the Elgin area for 40 years. He was a graduate of Elgin High School and had been employed as a carpenter for 30 years.
Survivors include his three children, Lisa, James Jr. and Nicole, all of Colorado; five grandchildren; a brother, Ray Quiroz; four sisters, Patricia, Evelyn, Gail and Nancy; and longtime companion, Sherry Banes.
Funeral Services will be 7 p.m., Thursday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, the Rev. Steve Srock officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m., Thursday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Vernon D. "Jake" Schneiderwind
Vernon D. "Jake" Schneiderwind, age 87, of Elgin, IL., formerly of Chicago, IL., passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at Heritage Manor, Elgin. He was born August 18, 1915 in Dundee, the son of William and Lillian (Richardson) Schneiderwind.
He served in the Army during WWII, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He retired from the Salvation Army of Chicago as a Food Administrator. He came to Elgin in 1986. He was a member of the American Legion Post 57 of Elgin.
Surviving are his brothers, Curtis (Estelle) Schneiderwind of Dundee and Anthony (June) Schneiderwind of Kentucky; and Uncle Jake's special friends, Deborah, Robert and Kristen Sargent and Dorothy Christiansen, all of Elgin.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother.
Funeral Services will be on Friday, September 13, 2002 at 1 PM at the Wait Ross Allanson Chapel, 51 Center Street, Elgin, IL. 60120, with Maj. Israel Velazquez and Maj. Brian Merritt of the Salvation Army officiating. Burial will take place in the Dundee Twp. cemetery, East Dundee.
Visitation will be after 11:30 AM on Friday, September 13, 2002, until the time of service at 1 PM, at the Wait Ross Allanson Chapel.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Salvation Army.

Lillian Pauline Warfel
Lillian Pauline Warfel, 65, of South Elgin, passed away Monday, September 9, 2002 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born August 18, 1937 in Wayne City, IL., and was the daughter of Leland and Lula Maye (Moyer) Johnson.
Lillian had worked at the Elgin Mental Health Center for many years prior to her retirement.
Survivors include her husband, Dean Warfel of South Elgin; three daughters, Victoria M. Peyton of Chicago, IL., Connie (Phillip) Bacerra of Edwardsville, IL., and Grace (Scott) Hagen of South Elgin, IL.; three grandchildren, Patricia (Brandon) Rodriguez, Andrew and Samantha Bacerra; one great-grandchild, Lillian Maye Rodriquez; and her brother, Conrad Johnson of Dix, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2002 at 10:00 AM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Chaplain Dick Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Plato Center cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8:00 PM in the funeral home.

Anna Gjurkovic
Anna Gjurkovic, 89 of Elgin, former many year resident of West Dundee, died Friday, September 12, 2003 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. She was born in Yugoslavia on April 10, 1914, the daughter of Joseph and Theresa (nee Frey) Mokush. She was a resident of the area for 33 years and was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, West Dundee.
She is survived by her children, Magdalena (Steve) Zentner of Sleepy Hollow and Adam (Trudi) Gjurkovic of Elgin; four grandchildren, Susan Zentner of Buffalo Grove, Gery (Julie) Zentner of Atlanta, Georgia, Carl (Kelly) Gjurkovic of Huntley and Rudy Gjurkovic of Elgin; three great-grandsons, Erik, Brett and Alexander Zentner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joseph on May 9, 1990; a sister in infancy.
Family and friends will meet for Funeral Mass on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Catherine of Siena Church, West Dundee. The Rev. David Austin will officiate. Burial will follow in the River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee and on Monday in the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials may be made to either the St. Jude Children's Hospital or The Make A Wish Foundation.

Peggy Lou Thornton
Peggy Lou Thornton, 62, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin.

Frances Landis
Frances Landis, 85, of Elgin passed away Friday at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin.
She was born October 23, 1916, in Canton, MN, daughter of Leo and Merea King Helgerson.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 610, Elgin.
She is survived by her husband, Clayton; two daughters, Sandra (Robert) Stauss of Elgin and Judie (Tony) Kaczoroski of CA, one son, Duane (Maurine) Zeimet of Elgin; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mildred Webb of Elgin, Mary Eileen Jerviss of UT; Betty Lou (Gordon) Fortmann of OH; and Yvonne (Robert) Frey of South Elgin; and one brother, Thomas Helgerson of McHenry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, two sisters, and one brother.
Private services will be held at Madison Funeral Home, Elgin.

Marcella E. Skrzypinski
Marcella E. Skrzypinski (nee Gunchick), age 73, of Elgin passed away Thursday, September 11, 2003. She was born June 15, 1930.
Surviving are her husband, Michael; four daughters, Carol Krueger of South Elgin, Linda (Joseph) Bonk of Carol Stream, Janet (Fred) Kotz of Elgin, Shari (Jeff) Knowles-Pruemer of Schaumburg; eleven grandchildren, Scott (Marie), Carren, Niklas, Jason, Jennifer, Adam, David, Courtney, Katelyn, Michael, late baby Jeremy; two brothers, Marvin (Helen) Gunchick, Lenard (Rose) Gunchick; one sister, Dolores (Wayne) Wobig.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Laurence Catholic Church in Elgin. Burial will be at St. Michael the Archangel, Palatine, IL. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, 950 South Bartlett Rd (at Stearns), Bartlett.

June Elaine Swetz
June Elaine Swetz, 72, of West Dundee died Saturday, September 11, 2004 at the Provena-St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. She was born in Pennsylvania on June 4, 1932, the daughter of James and Margaret (nee Staff) Melone. She operated a homecare center out of her home for many years. She was a member of St. Monica Church of Carpentersville.
she is survived by her husband of 51 years, Louis Swetz. They married on March 14, 1953 in Chicago; their seven children, Mark G. Swetz of Carpentersville, David (Mary Ellen) Swetz of Crystal Lake, Tom (Darlene) Swetz of Auburn, Georgia, Larry (Patricia) Swetz of Marengo, Louis Swetz of Schaumburg, Jamie (Greg) Fry of Crystal Lake and Wendy (Denny) Prosser of East Dundee; 13 grandchildren, three great grandchildren; two sisters; and a brother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson.
Private family Funeral Services will be held in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Henry Schorn
Henry Schorn, 96, of St. Charles, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001 in Delnor Community Hospital, Geneva.
He was born Feb. 19, 1905 in Kummersreuth, Germany, the son of Heinrich and Barbara (Gehringer) Schorn.
Henry worked for Denny Till for 40 years until he had reached the age of 65. As a sub-contractor, they worked on projects such as the Baker Hotel and the St. Charles National Bank buildings. Henry felt he was the luckiest person around. Over the years, he won a lifetime membership to St. Charles Moose Lodge #1368 and in the early 40's won a car, at a time when cars were difficult to purchase. Henry was a long time participant of the Salvation Army Golden Diner's program, 1031 E. State St., Geneva.
Survivors include his nieces, Cora Swingler of Wadsworth, Marie McAlpin of Elgin, Betty Calhoon of Crest Hill, Cora Budden of Rockford, Dorothy Hasten of Oswego, and Loretta Heuer of Elgin; and a nephew, John Schorn of Hampshire.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kuni "Cora" Schorn on Sept. 10, 1988; three sisters, Barbara, Anna and Kunigunda; and six brothers, Johann, Lenz, John, John E., Lawrence and George.
A Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001 at St. John Neumann Church, 2900 E. Main St., St. Charles, with MSGR Robert B. Hoffman, celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery, Geneva.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Friday at the Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third St., St. Charles, where a liturgical wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to either the Golden's Diners program or to St. John Neumann Church, 2900 E. Main, St. Charles, IL. 60174.

Robert R. Stansbury
Robert R. Stansbury, 74, of Genoa, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin.
He was born May 24, 1927 in Harlan County, Ky., the son of Frank and Myrtice (Pocock) Stansbury.
He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy. Robert was employed by various printing companies and worked for Print-Pak for many years. He retired from Multifilm in Elgin. He traveled all over the world, winning many awards in the printing field. He was instrumental in the development of the Pillsbury Dough Boy, the First UPC symbol and in the design of many different food packing choices. He loved to draw, fish and play golf.
He was a former member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Elgin and presently at Trinity Lutheran Church in Genoa.
Survivors include his wife, Susan of Genoa, whom he married on Sept. 24, 1949; two daughters, Karen (Vance) Zimmerman of Laramie, Wyo. and Diane (John) Beisner of Genoa; three grandsons, Rob Legoo, Dan and Shawn Beisner; a niece; and three nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty; and a brother, Archie.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Monday in the Slater-Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main St., Genoa, the Rev. W.E. Duey officiating. Burial will be in the Genoa cemetery.
