June A. Jones
June A. Jones, 64, of Elgin, passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin.
She was born June 19, 1937 in Morocco, Ind., the daughter of Elmo and Velma Caul Dodge.
She had been a resident of Elgin for the past 25 years. She was employed by Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin as a Registered Nurse for 27 years and was Head Nurse of the Out-Patient Chemotherapy Dept. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Elgin.
Survivors include her husband, Paul H. Jones, Jr., whom she married on June 21, 1963; a daughter, Kelly Jones of West Dundee; a son, Paul H. Jones III of Bloomington, Ind.; a grandson, Paul H. Jones IV; a sister, Laura Jean Dodge and a brother, Raymond Dodge, both of Lowell, Ind.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Elmo Dodge.
Funeral Services will be 6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001 in Calvary Baptist Church, 551 Arlington Ave., Elgin, the Rev. Tim Wills officiating. Graveside services will be held Monday in Sanders cemetery, Lowell, Ind.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 5 p.m. until the time of services in the church.
Memorials may be made to the Benevolent Fund at Calvary Baptist Church, Elgin.
Laird Funeral Home, Elgin is in charge of arrangements.

Marcia E. Moore
Marcia E. Moore, 58, of Carpentersville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001 in her home.
She was born Aug. 19, 1943 in Palos Hills, Ill., the daughter of Raymond and Hazel Moore.
Marcia, along with her husband, owned and operated Don Guest Photography Studios in Carpentersville.
Survivors include her husband, Don Guest of Carpentersville; three brothers, Raymond, David Lee and Edward Moore; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday in the Laird Funeral Home, 120 S. Third St., West Dundee. Burial will be in Windridge cemetery, Cary.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Sunday in the funeral home.

Rev. Coy Cleghorn
Rev. Coy Cleghorn, 77, of Elgin passed away Saturday, September 14, 2002 in the Arlington Rehabilitation and Living Center, Long Grove, IL.
He was born September 10, 1925 in Alleene, Arkansas and was the son of Floyd and Coelia (Anderson) Cleghorn.
Coy was a veteran, having served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was a graduate of Central Bible College in Springfield, MO in 1949. Coy began his Ministry as an Evangelist, and assumed Pastoral positions in Sheridan, AR, England, AR, Des Plaines, IL, Elgin, IL and Olney, IL. Retiring in 1985 after 40 plus years of ministry. Coy was a Lifetime Ordained Minister with the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Pam (Al) Oates, Cathy (Bob) Wozniak both of Gilberts, IL and Debb Cleghorn of Genoa, IL; five grandchildren, Troy (Ann) Oates, Traci (Mark) Eskew, Tiffany Oates, Kimberly (Doug) Seagren and Rachel (Shawn) Gray; five great grandchildren, Croy, Kaleb, Ariel, Magdeline and Colin; four brothers; a sister; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Yvonne in 1999, whom he married on May 29, 1945; two sons, Mark and David in infancy; and a sister.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2002 at 10 AM in the Highland Fellowship Church, 2250 W. Highland Ave, Elgin, IL. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee.
Visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 8:30 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and on Tuesday from 9:30 AM in the church until the time of Services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arlington Rehabilitation and Living Center, Alzheimer Unit or the church.

John G. Jones
John G. Jones, 88, passed away peacefully at his residence in Lake Havasu City, AZ.
He was born on July 24, 1914 in Hopkinsville, KY to John Jones and Katherine "Johnson" Jones.
John moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ 20 years ago from Elgin, IL. He worked as a machinist for General Mills in West Chicago, IL for 25 years. He served in the South Pacific in World War II, New Guinea and the Philippines. He also served in the U. S. Army Reserve for seven years. John was a life member of the VFW Post #9401.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Arlene Jones of Lake Havasu City, AZ; a son, John M. Jones of Charlottesville, VA and also his grandsons, John and Jacob of Charlottesville, VA; a daughter, Bonnie K. Jones of Fountain Hills, AZ; brothers, Jim (Beth) Jones of Lake Havasu City, AZ and Bruce (Marge) Jones of Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Kitty Lernenager of Kankakee, IL.
John was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Jones; and sisters, Eloise Jones and Ida Jones.
Interment will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens, Elkhorn, WI. Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Maria McInerney
Maria McInerney, 85 of Carpentersville died Saturday Sept. 14, 2002 at the Sherman Westcourt Nursing Center in Elgin. She was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia on September 14, 1914 the daughter of William & Maria (nee Kretschmer) Dolgner.
She is survived by her children: Udo Peter Mueller of Montgomery & Gabriele Lautner of Carpentersville (4) grandchildren: (1) Great Granddaughter (1) Sister: Eve Clarkson of East Lake, Ohio. Maria is also survived by a special friend Roberta Taylor of Montgomery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bert A. McInerney on Sept. 25, 1998. They married on March 28, 1952 & (1) Grandson: Mark.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 11:00am in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Burial will follow in the Dundee Twp. East cemetery, East Dundee. Visitation will be on Tuesday form 9:00am until time of service.

Mildred L. Pace
Mildred L. Pace, 94, of Elgin, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2002 at Heritage Manor, Elgin. She was born May 18, 1909 in Beulah, North Dakota, the daughter of Arthur and Louise Erickson Johnson.
She had been a resident of Elgin for the past 70 years. She was employed by Brody Coat Co. in Elgin before retiring. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ of Elgin. She was a 50 year member of the Moose Lodge in Elgin.
Surviving are one daughter, Jeanne Westerbeck of Tempe, Arizona; two sons, Les (Silvana) Pace of Elgin and James (Carol) Pace of Elgin; ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Henry (Mary) Johnson of South Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leslie B. Pace; one grandson, Matthew Pace; one brother, Erick Johnson; and three sisters, Lillian Lewis, Neoma Wickman and Adeline Keller.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2002 at 11:30 AM at the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, with Rev. Thomas O'Connor officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00-8:00 PM in the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to St. Paul's United Church of Christ or the American Diabetes Association.
Arrangements were made by the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin.

Asimina Petousis (nee Blazakis)
Asimina Petousis (nee Blazakis), age 59, of Elgin, passed away September 12, 2002 at St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. She was born July 21, 1943 in Athens, Greece.
She was the beloved wife of Hristos; loving mother of Nick (Christina) Petousis and Jenny (Aris) Metropulos; cherished grandmother of Kostas, Christ, Katie, Mina Metropulos and Christos and Yannis Petousis; dear sister of Maria (Peter) Angelopoulo and Emmanuel (Angie) Blazakis; fond sister-in-law of Ekaterini (Evangelos) Tsesmelis in Greece; devoted aunt of many nieces and nephews.
From her family, "We love and miss you".
Family and friends to meet Monday morning at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 525 Church Rd., Elgin, IL 60123 for services at 10:30AM. Interment at Elmwood cemetery, River Grove, IL. Visitation will be Sunday, September 15, 2002 from 4 to 9PM at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Sophia Church would be greatly appreciated.

Ricardo Briones
Ricardo Briones, 59, of Aurora passed away Saturday, September 13, 2003 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, IL. He was born February 26, 1944 in Mexico.
Ricardo was a very hard working man who was a loving husband, good father, an excellent grandfather, and great neighbor. He was always willing to help anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years Gloria Briones of Aurora; three children Ricardo Alonso Briones of Elgin, Alba Isela (Gregorio) Rodriguez of Chicago, and Cesar Octavio Briones of Elgin; six granddaughters Lysette Anais Briones, Lilliana Irene Briones, Elena Briones, Elora Briones, Leticia Denise Medrano, and Priscilla Ariana Briones; two brothers Jesus (Carmen) Briones of Mexico and Pedro (Ana) Briones of Elgin; three sisters Esperanza (Isidoro) Ruiz of Elgin, Margarita Zolli of DeKalb, and Elvia (Adolfo) Vazcuez of Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Modesta and Juan Briones.
Funeral from THE DALEIDEN LAKE STREET MORTUARY will be Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at 10 a.m. to St. Joseph Church at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Jerome Leake will officiate with interment at Lake Street Memorial Park in Elgin. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a liturgical wake service after 7 p.m. at THE DALEIDEN LAKE STREET MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, 630-631-5500.

Grace C. (Curce) Oliviero
Grace C. (Curce) Oliviero, 81, of Elgin, died Sunday, September 14, 2003 at Sherman Hospital. She was born February 1, 1922 in Elgin, the daughter of Louis and Florence (Serpico) Curce. She had worked at Motorola for several years, and other various Elgin area companies, and she was also a devoted mother, grandmother and homemaker.
She is survived by three daughters, Grace Ann (companion Gilbert); Connie (Jeffrey) Kerber, Sr., and Gerri (Greg) Taylor; three grandchildren, Megan (Joe) Murray, Jeffrey (Rachael) Kerber, Jr., Michael Kerber, four great grandchildren, Anneleise and Nevina Murray, Cheyenne and Paul Kerber. Two sisters: Josephine Miceli and Mollie Insalaco.
She is preceded by her husband Thomas (1994); two brothers Frank and Sam Curce, and one sister Jennie Insalaco.
Services will be Wednesday, 10 a.m., at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elgin with Fr. Reikowski officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 to 9 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 8 p.m. at the O'Connor-Leetz Funeral Home, 364 Division Street, Elgin. For further information, please call (847)-741-1400.

Ronald D. Phares
Ronald Dean Phares, 68, passed on Saturday, September 13, 2003 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Elgin, IL, following a long illness. He was born in WaKeeney, KS on December 1, 1934 to Thurman and Marie Phares. He married Mary Jane Weigal, originally of Oakley, KS, on May 8, 1957.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Douglas (Margaret), his daughter Monique (Jeff) Gosse, and his five beloved grandchildren, Connor, Morgan and Erin Phares, and Mitchell and Blake Gosse. He is also survived by one brother, Ernest (Mary) Phares, one sister-in-law Wilma Phares, sisters Esther (Fred) Dietz, Margaret Dietz, Helen (Earl) McCoy and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, sister Elizabeth Elsen, and brother Ken Phares.
A veteran of the Army, Ron worked for more than 35 years at Talman Savings and Loan in Chicago, then worked at Southwest Federal Savings, retiring as its Senior Vice-President in 1998.
Ron had a true belief in service to his community. His tireless efforts are reflected in his many commitments just a few of which are: serving as President of the Board of Directors of West Communities YMCA, Lions Club Member, also serving as President, member of the Greater Southwest Development Corporation, West Lawn Chamber of Commerce, and lay leader at Golgotha Lutheran Church.
After his retirement, Ron became active with CASA of Kane County, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
His loving spirit is seen in his treasured memory of playing Santa Claus for the Southwest Lion's Club at the Christopher School for the Handicapped, which he did until prevented by his illness.
A service to commemorate his life will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at 7 p.m. at New Spirit Lutheran Church, (formerly Golgotha Lutheran Church), 8600 S. Kilpatrick, Chicago. Interment will take place at his hometown of WaKeeney, KS.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis, www.coalitionforpf.org, 1685 Branham Lane, Suite 227, San Jose, CA 95118.

Judy E. Struck
Judy E. Struck, 62, of Elgin passed away Saturday, September 13, 2003 at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born January 15, 1941 in Elgin, the daughter of Edward and Lucy Rockwell Archer. She was a graduate of Elgin High School and Northern Illinois University and had her Masters of Education Degree from the National College of Education. She enjoyed many years with her fourth grade students at Coleman School in Elgin where she taught for 39 years before retiring in 2002. She enjoyed world traveling and different cultures. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, the Elgin area Retired Teachers Association, the Illinois Retired Teachers Association and the AARP.
Surviving are her husband, Jerry Struck whom she married on December 16, 1972, step son, Richard (Lynda) Struck of Chicago, step grandson, Eric Struck, her mother, Lucy Archer of Elgin, two brothers, James (Jean) Archer of Portland, OR and Coleman Archer of Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her father and her brother Kenneth Archer.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 17 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Elgin with Rev. Olin Sletto officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Loyola University Medical Center for their Pulmonary Research Program or Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

George A. Swainson
George A. Swainson, 79, of Elgin passed away Saturday, September 13, 2003 in St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. He was born October 21, 1923 in Canada and was the son of Ottar and Magnea Swainson. He had been employed by Central Tool and Die in Hampshire before retiring. Member of the First United Methodist Church of Elgin.
Surviving are his wife, Ethel, two sons, Russell (Diane) Shinnall of Elgin and Michael R. (Luann) Swainson of Spokane, WA, four grandchildren, Nancy, Deborah (Ron), Michelle and Kelley, two great granddaughters, Kristen and Skylar, two great grandsons, Alex and Mitch.
preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin with Rev. Larry Pickens officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Sherman Oncology Department.
