James A. Ghilardi
James A. Ghilardi, 44, of Elgin, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Patricia (nee Grazzini); devoted daughter, Jenna; his parents, Arnold and Arlene Ghilardi of Green Valley, Ariz.; a sister, Sue Riordan; and nephews and niece, Nick and Michele Riordan, Jeremy and Steven Grazzini.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m., Friday at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St. ( mi. W of Bloomingdale/Roselle Rd.), Roselle. Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas More Church, Elgin. Cremation will be private.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.

Eileen M. Green
Eileen M. Green, 85 of Elgin, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001 in Heritage Manor, Elgin.
She was born June 29, 1916, the daughter of Harry and Catherine Keefe.
Survivors include five children, Kathleen Newton of Orlando, Fla., Patricia McGee of Deluth, Minn., Thomas (Bonnie) Green of Westberry, N.Y., Mary (Thomas) Gurdnowski of Minneapolis, Minn. and Nancy (Craig) Nesper of Bartlett; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; a brother; and a sister.
Funeral Mass will be 9:15 a.m., Saturday in St. Mary's Church, Elgin, Fr.Edward J. Seisser officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery, Elgin.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m., Friday in the O'Connor and Homeier Funeral Home, Elgin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of North Eastern Illinois, 410 S. Hager Ave., Barrington, IL. 60010.

Elizabeth Anne "Betty" Hefko
Elizabeth Anne "Betty" Hefko, age 79, of Marshfield, Wisconsin, passed away at The House of the Dove Hospice Home in Marshfield, WI on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001.
Survivors include five sons; and two daughters which includes, Mary(Thomas) Smith of Elgin and theirchildren, Gabriel of Roscoe, Ill., Riley of Elgin and Bartholomew of Urbana.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Hefko on Aug. 23, 2001.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday at The First Presbyterian Church, Marshfield, WI, Rev. Lois L. Swanson, officiating. Interment Hillside cemetery, Marshfield.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Thurs. in the Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home, Marshfield, Wis. and on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services.

William Lloyd "Bill" Poff
William Lloyd Poff, age 67, of Carpentersville passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2001, in the Heritage Manor, Elgin. He was born December 22, 1933 in Christianburg, Virginia, the son of Paul and Ina Bracken Poff. He had been a resident of Carpentersville for the past 30 years. He had been employed as an electrician before retiring.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Seider Poff; two brothers: Paul (Virginia) Poff and Steve (Gloria) Poff, both of Christianburg, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 22 at 1 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, 120 S. Third St. (Corner of S. Third and Oregon), West Dunee. Visitation will be held at the time of services.

Wanda M. Deeley
Wanda M. Deeley (nee Hyland), 91 years old of Elgin. Formerly of Chicago.
Beloved wife of Gerald "Jerry". Dear mother of Mary Kay (Carlos Antonio) Dohse, Margaret Dowling, Patricia (Richard) Woodruff and Helen (Gerald) Hoppmann. Loving grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of 20.

Grace M. Geils
Grace M. Geils, 102, of Merrill, WI passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2002, Williams House Elder Services under the Comfort Care & Hospice Program. Born February 1, 1900 in Huntley, Illinois. She was the daughter of William Scheer and Anna (Rohlmeier) Scheer.
She was married to Louis Geils on August 18, 1920 in Barrington, Illinois. He preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1986. She enjoyed playing cards and gardening. Grace was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Merrill.
Survivors include: Daughter: Elaine Mensching of Merrill; 1 son: Ronald (Virginia) Geils of Haines City, FL; 5 grandsons: Michael and Mark Mensching of Merrill, Jerry Geils of Clinton, Utah, Allan Geils of Rosemount, Minnesota, Matt Mensching of Madison, WI.; 5 great granddaughters: Jennifer, Krista, Krystine, Christy, and Shaunna; 3 great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sons: Kenneth and Richards; and one sister: Florence Trimble.
There will be no funeral service or visitation.

John A. Luckey
John A. Luckey, age 82, of St. Charles, died Thursday, September 19, 2002 at Delnor-Community Hospital, Geneva.
He was born July 30, 1920 in Chicago, IL, the son of Albert and Elizabeth Luckey.
Mr. Luckey was a member of St. John Neumann Church. He was a veteran of WWII serving as a Navigator for the Army Air Corp. He was a member of SCORE Aurora and Elgin Chapter. Before his retirement he was founder and owner of Recora Co. Inc. for 35 years. He was an inventor and held many patents on the product line.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan (Patrick) McGehee of Green Bay, WI.; his son, John Jr. of Des Plaines; two grandchildren, Leanna Russell of Kansas City, MO, and James Russell of Green Bay, WI.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pansyle "Lee" Luckey; one sister, Marie Fitzpatrick; brother-in-law, Thomas Fitzpatrick.
Funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2002 at St. John Neumann Church, 2900 E. Main St., St. Charles. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Yurs Funeral Home St. Charles.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Elham Ziai and Dr. William Mackin, Dr. John White, the nurses and staff at Delnor Community and the nursing staff at three north, three south, two north & CCU and Provena Pine View Care Center, St. Charles.

John W. Andresen
John W. Andresen, 74, of West Dundee, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at Tower Hill Healthcare Center, South Elgin. He was born July 16, 1929 in Schaumburg, the son of John H. and Clara Schuett Andresen. He had been a resident of West Dundee since 1949. He had been employed by Woodruff and Edwards in Elgin and also farmed in West Dundee before retiring. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, Donna Campbell Andresen whom he married on November 25, 1949; daughter, Cathy Shreve of Salem, WI; sons, John William Andresen II of Chicago and David Evan (Bonnie) Andresen of Wonder Lake; five grandchildren, Ray Andresen, Jacob, Sara, Heather and Shannon Shreve. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Albert Andresen.
Private Funeral Services will be held at Laird Funeral Home, 120 S. Third St., West Dundee. Burial will be private. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Tower Hill Heathcare Center, Alzheimers Research or the charity of ones choice.

Bessie Underhill
Bessie Underhill, 97, of Elgin, IL died Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at Sherman West Court, Elgin. She was born May 11, 1906 in Willow Springs, Missouri to John and Lulu (Culbertson) Cook.
Following her marriage to Laurence Underhill in 1926, the couple moved to Elgin and raised their children. They spent 27 years in Winter Park, Florida. Bessie moved home to Elgin following her husband's death in 1978.
She is survived by her dear sister, Myrtle Stuart of Elgin; her loving niece, Margaret (Clark) Finley of Elgin and her close friend, Bill Barton of southern Illinois; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and two brothers, Ed and Clinton Cook.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 22 at 1:30 p.m. at Wait Ross Allanson Elgin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Frantz, pastor of First Baptist Church of Elgin officiating.
Burial will be at Bluff City cemetery in Elgin.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 22 from 11 a.m. until the time of serv ice at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Elgin. 1735 W. Highland Ave. Elgin, IL 60123.

Ronald Gene "RG" Westmorland
Ronald Gene "RG" Westmorland, 66 of Carolina Trace, NC formerly of Elgin died Wednesday.
Mr. Westmorland was the owner of Westmorland Construction Co. since 1955 and was a Master Carpenter. He built many of the homes in Carolina Trace.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Westmorland; three sons, Ronald Bruce Westmorland of Seven Lakes, Mark Lee Westmorland of Elgin, IL and Douglas Wayne Westmorland of Seven Lakes; one daughter, Susan Lynn Westmorland of Carolina Trace; one brother, Paul Westmorland; one sister, Barbara Jochum Henry and four grandchildren, Michael Westmorland of Seven Lakes, Trisha Westmorland of Seven Lakes, Joshua Lee Westmorland of Elgin, IL and Whitney Westmorland of Seven Lakes.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Floyd Jochum.
The family will receive friends at The Miller-Boles Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Grace Chapel Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Rudy Holland. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Florence L. Zierk
Florence L. Zierk, 96, of East Dundee died Saturday, September 6, 2003 at the Heritage Manor of Elgin. She was born in Elgin on November 27, 1906, the daughter of Albert and Minnie (nee Holland) Koch. She was a life long resident of the Elgin-Dundee areas. She was a former many year employee of the Elgin Case Factory, Sherman Hospital and Gromer's Supermarket. She was a long time member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Elgin.
She is survived by two step-children: Dal (Judy) Zierk of Roswell, GA and Donna Dean of Elgin. Grandchildren: Darryl (Diane) Plauck, Dennis (Lori) Plauck, David (Jackie) Plauck, Kristin (Richard) Ennis, and Dawn (Bill) Skarzynski, and Jeff Zierk. Great grandchildren: Leah, Larissa, Ryan, Nicholas, Anthony, Greg, Anna Katherine, Nicole and Evan. Great great granddaughter Zoe.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Donald E. Zierk on May 22, 1990.
Funeral Services will be on Monday, September 22, 2003 at 11 a.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. The Rev. Darlis J. Swan, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dundee Twp. East cemetery, East Dundee. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 21, 2003 from 4-6 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Please omit flowers, memorials may be made to either the VITAS Hospice, 580 Waters Edge, Suite #100, Lombard, IL or the Heritage Manor Garden Fund, 355 Raymond St., Elgin, IL 60120.

Jean S. (Aguado) Metcalf
Jean S. (Aguado) Metcalf, 43, of Elgin, died Wednesday, September 18, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin.
She was born May 18, 1959 in Chicago to Ralph and Jean S. (Lucas) Aguado. She had been employed as a Data Processor for B.F.I.
Survivors are her husband, Matthew A. Metcalf, whom she married on May 2, 1998; a son, Matthew B. Metcalf of Elgin; three daughters, Ramona J. Aguado, Eumeka N. Aguado and Jonovia S. Aguado all of Elgin; a brother, Cecil (Vivian) Lucas of Ypsilianti, MI.; four sisters, Connie Matthews, Lana Rhoden, Kim Breland and Ingrid Aguado all of Las Vegas, Nevada; and her parents, Ralph and Jean Aguado of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 23 between 9 and 11 AM at the chapel. Funeral will be held Monday, September 23 at 11 AM at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Willie Tate and Angelo Valdes officiating. Burial will be at Bluff City cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.

Melvin Hummel
Melvin Hummel, 70, of Elgin, passed away Friday in Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. He was born March 20, 1933 in Lombard, IL and was the son of Melvin and Charlotte Hummel. Melvin was an Eagle Scout, and went on to be a scout leader. He was a Veteran, and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Melvin had worked as a land surveyor up until his death, and he also taught at the College of Dupage. Member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church of Elgin. He pioneered the Pingree Grove EMT Unit. Member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post #57, and the IL Professional Land Surveyors Association.
He is survived by five children: Gregg "Mike" Glemza of Crystal Lake, IL, Doral (Richard) Reinert of Elgin, Stephen (Kathee) Hummel of Hayward, CA, Mark (Denise) Hummel of Crystal Lake, IL, Wendy (Brian) Wilkening of Elgin, 12 grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Clarice Hummel in 1995.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at 1 p.m. in the St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Rev. Geoffrey Wirth officiating. Burial will be in Prairie cemetery, St. Charles, IL. Visitation will be on Monday from 4-9 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin, and on Tuesday in the church from 12 noon until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Provena St. Joseph Hospital Hospice or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Wilma Klein
Wilma Klein, 87 of Elgin passed away Thursday at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. She was born January 8, 1916 in Lake Zurich, daughter of William and Louise Albrecht Kruckenberg.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Elgin.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen Klein of Aurora, Kay (Frank) Mulready of Plato Center and Donna (Robert) Acosta of Sheridan; grandchildren, Francis and Melissa Mulready, Jennifer Acosta; two step-grandchildren, Robert Acosta and Patricia Acosta and one great grandson, Bobby Acosta and one brother, Marvin Kruckenberg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert in 2000; a grandson, Jason in 2001; two sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Elgin. The Rev. Thomas Niermann will officiate with burial at Bluff City cemetery in Elgin.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at The Madison Funeral Home. 305 Park St. in Elgin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Elgin.
