Bonnie L. Ellen
Bonnie L. Ellen, age 59, of Minooka, IL, formerly of Carpentersville and Yorkville, IL, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2006, at the Joliet Area Community Hospice in Joliet, IL. She was born on October 9, 1946, in Elgin, IL, the daughter of Russell and Louise (Berna) Ferrell.
Bonnie was united in marriage on July 29, 1967, to Mr. Willi Albrecht and they spent 18 happy years together until his passing on October 10, 1985. She was then united in marriage on September 29, 1990, in Yorkville, IL to Mr. Wallace Ellen Jr., and they spent the next 15 happy years of their lives together. Bonnie enjoyed making lovely craft items for her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her husband, Wallace Ellen, Jr. of Minooka, IL; her children, Kurt (Barb) Albrecht of Carpentersville, IL, Sharlyn (Rev. Steve) Deombeleg of Tucson,AZ, Wallace "Sonny" (Nancy) Ellen, III of Yorkville, IL and Diana "Dee Dee" (Tim) Johnson of Yorkville, IL; her grandchildren, Rico Bianchi of Yorkville, IL, Ashley Willman of Yorkville, IL, Jordan Rozanski of Yorkville, IL, Brandon Swan of Carpentersville, IL, Abbey Rozanski of Yorkville, IL, Chelsey Ellen of Yorkville, IL, Claudia Johnson of Yorkville, IL, Steven Deombeleg of Tucson,AZ, Dylan Johnson of Yorkville, IL and one soon-to-be granddaughter, Emily Elizabeth Albrecht; her two sisters, Marcia Struble of Elgin, IL and Donna (Tom) Morey of Minooka, IL; her dear friends, Peggy and Dale Humphrey of Newark, IL as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Louise Ferrell and her first husband, Willi Albrecht.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2006, at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Parkway, Yorkville, IL. Interment will be private.

Paula M. Ervin
Paula M. Ervin, age 45 of Huntley died Sunday, January 29, 2006 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a brief, but courageous, battle with cancer. She was born on November 16, 1960 in Kankakee, Illinois.
Paula was a resident of the Dundee-Huntley areas for most of her life. She was a 1979 graduate of Dundee Community High School. Paula was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church of Huntley and was a C.C.D. Teacher. She was a Surgical Tech and was employed by Crystal Lake Oral Surgery for over 20 years.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, David L. Ervin. They married
on December 26, 1981 at the St. Catherine of Siena Church, West Dundee; a son, Wesley and a daughter, Kristi, both at home; her mother, Mary Ann Lasher of Huntley; her sisters, Tracey Taylor and Susan (Lane) Rakow, both of Carpentersville; her brother, John (Karen) Lasher of Carpentersville; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Nancy Ervin of Glen Ivy, CA. Many nieces, nephews and countless good and faithful friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her father, Phillip A. Lasher; her maternal and paternal grandparents; and a cousin, Evan Taylor.
Funeral Mass will be on Saturday at 10:30 A.M. in the St. Mary Church, 10307 Dundee Road in Huntley. The Rev. Stephen J. Knox, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be private in the St. Mary cemetery, Huntley. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 P.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntley and on Saturday in church from 9:30 A.M. until time of mass. Douglas W. Leffler
Douglas W. Leffler, 75, of Elgin passed away Sunday, January 29, 2006. He was born on February 2, 1930 and was the son of Joseph and Veronica Leffler. Doug was a graduate of Spencerian College and the University of Wisconsin. He was a Veteran and served in the US Army. Doug had worked at Mobil Oil Co. for many years prior to his retirement. Most recently, he had worked at Ace Hardware, Lillian Branch. He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and the Pi-Rho-Zeta Fraternity.
Survivors include three children, Jane (Ken) Nusbaum of Houston, TX, Steve (Bonnie) Leffler of Crystal Lake, IL and Scott (Laura) Leffler of Algonquin, IL; five grandchildren, Kevin, Amber, Ashley, April and Luke; two brothers, Clark and Bob Leffler; and many nieces and nephews; and his special companions, Buddy and Bentley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife Geraldine on July 4, 2000.
Memorial mass will be held on Friday at 10:00 A.M. in the St. Laurence Catholic Church, Elgin. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8:00 P.M. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin.
Hugh "Swampy" Warren Marsh
Hugh "Swampy" Warren Marsh, 77, of South Elgin, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2006, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. He was born on June 6, 1928, in Batavia, IL and was the son of Glenn and Marion (Surkamer) Marsh.
Hugh was a graduate of St. Edward High School in 1947. He was a Veteran and served in the U.S. Army. Hugh had worked at St.Charles Manufacturing for 49 years prior to retirement. Swampy was a regular attendee at the Village of South Elgin Board Meetings. He was a member of the American Legion Post #57 and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #682 of Batavia.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte, whom he married
on December 4, 1948; two children, Tim (Cindy) Marsh of South Elgin and Kimberly (Jim) Morgan of South Elgin; four grandchildren, Zachary, Mackenzie, Jennifer and Jade; one great-grandchild, Shae; two sisters, Bette Hansford of Batavia and Nancy (Al) Collingbourne of California; one brother, Glenn H. (Barb) Marsh of New Mexico and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Patricia Walz, Janet Elvin and Mary Alice Weisner.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2006, at 10:00 A.M. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Joseph F. Kulak officiating. Burial with honors will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 9 P.M. in the funeral home.

Ada Marie Martens
Ada Marie Martens, 79, of Elgin passed away January 30, 2006 in her home. She was born on November 20, 1926 in Elgin, IL and was the daughter of Elmer and Alda Britton. Ada was a Manager at the Elgin Mental Health Center Credit Union for many years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and was an avid bingo player. Ada will be dearly missed.
Member of Calvary Lutheran Church of Elgin. Member of the Ladie's Auxiliary of VFW Post #8043 of Hampshire. Member and past president of Ladies Auxiliary Legion Post #57 of Elgin.
Survivors include her husband, Lavern "Marty" Martens of Elgin; her daughter, Laurie (Bruce) Boulton of Elgin; two grandchildren, Martin Ray "Marty", and Mallory Boulton; her brother, Elmer (Jean) Britton; two sisters, Anna Klein and Ollie (Larry) Mann; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Michael Martens in 1998; and five brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M. in the Calvary Lutheran Church, Elgin, with Rev. James Fandrey officiating. Burial will follow in Harmony cemetery, Harmony, IL. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8:00 P.M. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, and on Friday at the church, from 10:15 A.M. until the time of services. Dennis J. "Bucky" Cline
Dennis J. "Bucky" Cline, 67, of West Dundee, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin.
He was born in Carrier Mills, Ill. on Jan. 16, 1934, the son of Dennis M. and Trella (nee Williams) Cline.
He was a 43 year resident of the Dundee area. He was a former 17 year employee of Material Services of East Dundee. He was a United States Air Force Veteran.
Survivors include five children, Debra Gazic of Florida, Roy (Sharon) Robinson of East Dundee, Michele (Jim) Smith of Aurora, Colo., Mitchel Cline of West Dundee and Steffan (Michele) Cline of Phoenix, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Ruby Glenn of Elgin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m., Saturday in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Interment will be private.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m., Saturday in the funeral home.

Anna C. Farney
Anna C. Farney, age 94 of Elgin, passed away Monday in the Apostolic Christian Resthaven.
She was born October 8, 1906 in Elgin, the daughter of George and Carrie Goll Schaaf. She had been a resident of Elgin all of her life. She had been employed by the Elgin National Watch Co. for 25 years and Provena St. Joseph Hospital in the cafeteria for 13 years before retiring. She was the niece of Libby Goll, who started Resthaven. Anna was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law and grandmother as well as a dear friend to all those who knew her. She was known by many for her great sense of humor and her generosity. She attended the Apostolic Christian Church of Elgin. She was an avid gardener for many years.
Surviving are daughter-in-law, LaVona N. Farney of Loves Park, IL; three grandchildren, Randy (Patty) Farney of Rockford, Debra (Steve) Anderson of Rockford and Laura (Mike) Arrington of Carmel, IN; seven great-grandchildren, Katy, Leif, Natalie, Luke, Jennifer, Bethany and Megan; two sisters, Helen Bennorth of Elgin and Dorothy Easley of Loveland, CO; and many nieces and nephews.

Karen L. Fikejs
Karen L. Fikejs, 36, of Carpentersville died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001 at the Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago.
She was born in Elgin on Oct. 11, 1964. She was a lifelong resident of the area.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel and Brandon; her father, Stephen (Peggy) Moore of Cary; her mother, Janice Miller of Carpentersville; her step-father, John Miller of Elgin; a sister, Lee Ann (James) Freeman of Elgin; and a brother, Glen (Suzette) Moore of Colleyville, Texas.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Thursday in the St. Catherine of Siena Church, West Dundee, the Rev. Richard Rosinski officiating. Burial will follow in the Dundee Township East cemetery, East Dundee.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m., Wednesday in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee and on Thursday from 9 a.m. in the church prior to Mass.

Henry F. Freitag
Henry F. Freitag, 82, of Carpentersville died Tuesday, January 30, 2001 at Sherman Hospital.
He was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 24, 1918, the son of Frank and Catherine (Waroff) Freitag.
He was a 42 year resident of the Carpentersville area. He was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church of Carpentersville. He was a former 12 year employee of Hills-McCanna of Carpentersville. He was a World War II Air Force Veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ann E. (nee Lebiedz). They married
on July 5, 1943; two daughters, Marlene (Larry) Behm of Lake in the Hills and Darlene (Daniel) Baran of West Dundee; four grandchildren, Tom and Frank Behm and Danielle and Daulton Baran; a brother, Victor (Delores) Freitag of Hoffman Estates; two sisters, Laura (Walter) Palakow of Elk Grove Village and Florence (Richard) Reithal of Mt. Prospect. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be on Friday, February 2, 2001 in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee with the Rev. William R. Schuessler officiating. Burial will follow in the Dundee Township East cemetery, East Dundee.
Visitation will be on Friday from 9 AM until time of service at 11 AM.
Ira J. Fulk
Ira J. Fulk, 80, of Carpentersville died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001 at Sherman Hospital, Elgin.
He was born in Lincoln, Ill. on Aug. 25, 1920, the son of Thomas and Pauline (nee Bailey) Fulk.
He was a 40 year resident of the Carpentersville area. Ira worked as a printer for many years. Following retirement from printing, he went to work at Dominicks Food Store in East Dundee. He was a member of the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Algonquin. He was a WWII Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Rita A. (nee Budge) Fulk, whom he married
on Jan. 25, 1947; a daughter,Christine L. Fulk of Carpentersville; a son, Steven (Michelle) Fulk of McHenry; and two grandchildren, Kelcey and Logan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George.
Family and Friends will meet for Funeral Mass on Friday at 10 a.m. in the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Algonquin. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m., Thursday in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee.

Edward J. Greve
Edward J. Greve, 71, of Belvidere, formerly of Hampshire passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001 in Swedish American Hospital, Rockford.
He was born in Elgin on July 31, 1929, the son of Edward H. and Grace (Bottcher) Greve.
He was Manager of the Lumber Co. in Garden Prairie, Ill. for 46 years retiring in 1994. His retired hobby was cooking for McDonald's Restaurant on North State St., Belvidere for over six years. He was a member of Immanuel's Lutheran Church.
He was a former member of Immanuel's Board of Education and Board of Elders; a former member of Hampshire's Volunteer Fire District and Boone County Volunteer Fire Dist. #2; former member and past president of Garden Prairie Improvement Assn. He was honored by the Belvidere Chamber of Commerce as a "Doctor of Civic Betterment" in 1985 and volunteered at the Belvidere SCORE Office. He was a former member and Vice President of District #100 School Board for four terms 1973-1985 & 1991-1995, a former member of the Boone County Zoning Board, the Boone County Board of Appeals and the Highland Hospital Board of Directors 1979-1986. He was a graduate of Hampshire High School.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl (nee Trumpour) Greve, whom he married
on Aug. 7, 1954; a daughter, Patricia Scherf of Belvidere; a son, David (Kathy) Greve of Houma, La.; five grandchildren, Stacy and Justin Scherf, Kimberly, Stephanie and Sara Greve; a sister, Viola (Ray)Sabin of Hampshire; a brother, Kenneth (Arlene) Greve of Wauwatosa, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Revs. Eugene E. Willie and David C. Gaddini officiating. Burial will be in Belvidere cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Thursday in the Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere.
