Mrs. Abboud, born in Lebanon, was educated at the American Girls School and College in Beirut.
After graduation, she began her long career in social work by becoming the assistant to the well known American Humanitarian, Marion Kerr, who provided a home for girls, supported by the Near East Relief Organization. The Kerr family was important to Lebanon and the American University of Beriut over the generations and the Bulls' Steve Kerr is part of that family. Victoria was fluent in Turkish, French, English and Arabic.

She then worked at Denison House, a Settlement Facility, in the South End of Boston assisting newly arrived immigrants. Amelia Earhart was on the Board of Denison House. Amelia and Victoria worked as a team. Victoria translated for the immigrants while Amelia Earhart taught them English. They also provided recourse for battered wives against domestic violence.
After marrying Alfred Abboud in 1928, Victoria became a supervisor for the Federal Relief Administration, an Agency of the WPA. She continued her involvement in social work with various Institutes and Organizations throughout her active life with particular emphasis on helping those newly arrived into the United States.
Mrs. Abboud was a devoted and dedicated mother. Her commitment to the nurturing and education of her two children was unyielding.
