Adrianne L. Jack, 63, of Elgin, passed away Saturday, October 26, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital. She was born November 21, 1938 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of Michael and Rosalie Mansky Cejrowski.
Survivors include her Mother, Rosalie Cejrowski, two brothers, Michael (Ruth) of West Chicago and Douglas (Kathryn) of Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Private services will be held at Madison Funeral Home, Elgin. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Pittsburgh, PA. Arrangements by Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park, Elgin. 847-741-1128

Robert G. "Bob" James Jr.
Robert G. "Bob" James Jr., 45, of Kenosha, WI., passed away on Monday October 28, 2002. He was born September 30, 1975 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the son of Robert G. and Grace James.
Bob always enjoyed a challenge, especially when it came to working on hard-to-fix equipment at his various jobs or tinkering on any kind of engine. Bob especially loved children and was a born teacher who enjoyed showing kids exactly how things worked.
He is survived by his companion, Liz Sloan; three sons, Joshua, Bobby and Jason; his mother, Grace James; his brother, David James; his two sisters, Debbie (Vern Burris) James and Nancy (the late Dale) Krahn; his nephews, Ryan and Adam Krahn; and many other relatives and special friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his father; his brother-in-law; and all his grandparents.
Private services will be held in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, (847)741-8800. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Anthony W. Bass
Anthony W. Bass, 18, of Carpentersville, IL., died Saturday October 26, 2002.
Survived by his parents, Anthony J. and Ellen; one brother, Tim; Aunt Kelly (Greg) Grant and Sara (David) Burnett, Uncle Jeff Bass, Aunt Elizabeth (John) Arnold, Aunt Amy Blevins and Uncle Ermen (Debby) Blevins; paternal grandmother, Jane Pearson; and maternal grandfather, Ermen Blevins.
He was a graduate of Barrington High School, Class of 2002.
Services will be on Saturday November 2, 2002 at 11:00 AM at Community Funeral Home, located on Rt. 25, between Rts. 72 and 68, East Dundee, IL. (847)426-3474. Visitation will be on Friday November 1, 2002 from 5-9 PM.

Elizabeth S. Cavitt
Elizabeth S. Cavitt, 75, of Bartlett, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2002, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Hoffman Estates, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 14, 1927, in West Salem, Illinois, the daughter of Theodore and Ruth (Weber) Gaede. She was a resident of Elgin and Bartlett for most of her life. She attended Elgin Public Schools and graduated from Elgin High School in 1946.
Elizabeth was an officer of Ace Coffee Bar, Inc., a company she and her husband formed in 1949. For many years, she worked along side him and helped him in any way she could. She especially loved music and enjoyed playing the organ, piano and violin. Her appreciation of music was surpassed only by her love for her family and her devotion to them. Elizabeth's children, family and friends will fondly remember the many Christmas Day concerts they shared with her. She organized many family get-togethers and especially enjoyed hosting summertime picnics. Her home in Florida provided many memorable moments for family and friends who spent time there with her. As a wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister and friend, she will be truly missed.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Bernard E. Cavitt; four children, Sandra (R.Morris) Lanier of St. Charles, Rodney (Christine) Cavitt of St. Charles, Lisa (Steve) Patten of West Dundee and Jill (Tom) Lorenzen of Elgin; three grandchildren, Matthew Cavitt, Elizabeth Patten and Chase Patten; three sisters, Mildred (Laverne) Bradford of Oregon, Illinois, Maxine (Robert) Wendler of Boulder, Colorado and Gene Ryan of Ft. Meyers, Florida; many nieces and nephews and special high school friends.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by a brother in infancy.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 2, 2002 at First Baptist Church of Geneva, 2300 South Street, Geneva, IL. Burial will be in Union cemetery, St. Charles. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M., Friday, November 1, 2002, at the Norris Funeral Home 100 S. 3rd Street, St. Charles.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Non-Hodgkins's Lymphoma Research Foundation, 111 Broadway 19th Floor, New York, New York 10006

Dorothy M. Fay
Dorothy M. Fay, 81, of St. Charles, died Tuesday, October 29, 2002, at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva. She was born March 21, 1921, in Hampshire, IL, the daughter of Ernest and Mary (Hermann) Engel.
Mrs. Fay was a member of St. Patrick Church, downtown St. Charles. She had worked as a beautician for many years, with the beauty shop in her home. Dorothy had attended the shower and was so looking forward to the birth of her first great-grandchild.
Mrs. Fay is survived by her daughter, Sandy (Bob) Hansen of Elburn; her son, Greg Fay of St. Charles; three grandchildren, Jonathan (Amy) Hansen, Brian (Stacy) Hansen and Valerie Hansen; her brother, Clarence "Bud" (Velda) Engel of Hampshire; three sisters, Bernice (Fred) Lamkin, Marcella (George) Drendel and Arlene (Whitey) Reiser, all of Hampshire and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Noble and Denise Timm, both of Elgin.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fay was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Fay in 1995.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, October 31, 2002, at St. Patrick Church, 408 Cedar Street, St. Charles, with Fr. Joseph P. Linster, celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery, Geneva.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 30, 2002, at the Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third Street, St. Charles, where a liturgical wake service will be held at 7:30 P.M.

Ruediger "Rudy" Hennig
Ruediger "Rudy" Hennig, 48, of Crystal Lake, died Monday, October 28, 2002.
He was born in Germany on March 30, 1954 to Fritz and Edith (Augustyniak) Hennig. He married Maria Szymanski in Chicago on June 25, 1977. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Hennig of Crystal Lake; a daughter, Angela (Dennis) Maloney of Genoa; a son, Andre (Christina) Hennig of Palatine; grandchildren, Desiree and Paige Maloney and two more expected soon. Also survived by in-laws, Chester and Agnes Szymanski of Wheeling, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Friday, November 1 at Querhammer and Flagg Funeral home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 2 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Ridgefield cemetery in Crystal Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.

Delbert William Hulke
Delbert William Hulke, 79, of Elgin, died on Monday, October 28, 2002, in Sherman West Court, Elgin. He was born July 23, 1923, in Courtland, Minnesota, and was the son of William and Dora (Todt) Hulke. Delbert was a Veteran, and served in the US Navy Construction Battalion "CBs" during W.W. II. He received a Star from the Asiatic-Pacific, Philippine Liberation, and also received the Victory Medal. Delbert worked as a Master Carpenter and Construction Superintendent for 12 years and in 1952 was severely burned in a work-related accident. He was the first patient in the Easter Seal Program, later receiving the Easter Seal outstanding Achievement Award for Overcoming a Handicap. Delbert supervised the renovation of the first Easter Seal Office. From 1958 until his retirement in 1989, Delbert worked as a New Construction Inspector/Appraiser for First Federal Savings and Loan. Delbert was a devoted and much-loved husband, father, and grandfather, and will be long remembered and much missed by his family and friends.
Member of the Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren of Elgin, Elgin Lion's Club, and VFW Post 1307.
Survived by Elizabeth (Kaufman), whom he married on January 4, 1947; three sons, Steven D. (Anne) Hulke of Oklahoma City, OK, Stuart A. (Barbara) Hulke of Basking Ridge, NJ and Scott E. (Deborah) Hulke of Orlando, FL; seven grandchildren, Scott (Laura), Kristin (Rob) Harper, Katherine, Stuart E., Stephanie, Emily, and Sarah; three great-grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Hulke, and Riley Harper; four brothers, Walter, Stan (Ruth), Richard (Margie), and Larry Hulke; six sisters, Helen Walters, Marcella Hulke, Lorraine (Loyal) Humbracht, Delores Sterba, Ruth (Frank) Pagoda, and Dorothy Olsen; and many nieces and nephews.
preceded in death by his parents; his grandchild, Christine; two sisters, Erna Lindorfer and Aleta Lunz; four brothers, Irvin, Raymond, William, and Wesley Hulke.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren, 783 W. Highland Ave., Elgin, with Rev. Joel Kline officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Wednesday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, from 3-7 p.m., and on Thursdays in the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Highland Avenue Church of the Bethren or the Jane Shover Easter Seal Center.

Martha L. Schmitt
Martha L. Schmitt, 87, of Hampshire passed away Monday, October 28, 2002 in her home.
She was born May 15, 1915 in Chicago, the daughter of Arthur and Evelyn (Ohlander) Peterson.
Martha married Leonard F. Schmitt on December 31, 1933 in Crown Point, IN. They resided in Steger and Frankfort before moving to Hampshire in 1971. Mrs. Schmitt had been employed by Marshall Field's in Park Forest for 16 years and after moving to Hampshire, she worked at the Ella Johnson Memorial Public Library. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hampshire, the Hampshire Women's Club and the Hampshire Garden Club. She also enjoyed playing bridge.
Surviving are her husband, Leonard; three children, Barton (Mary) Schmitt, M.D. of Littleton, Colorado, Gail Schmitt of Hampshire and Jan (Wayne) Rogoski of Skokie; seven grandchildren, Kim Rieke, Kathy (Randal) Chance, David (Paula) Schmitt, Elaine (David) Gates, Becky (Paul) Fullmer, Michael (Jaylen) Schmitt and Claire Rogoski; and seven great grandchildren, Randel Chance, Lauren, Megan and Dylan Schmitt, Ethan and Graham Gates and Griffin Schmitt.
Mrs. Schmitt was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant son, Neil.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, October 31 at the First United Methodist Church, corner of Grove and Elm Sts., Hampshire with the Rev. Daniel Davis officiating. Burial will be held in Hampshire Center cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to Service on Thursday at the church from 10 to 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in her name may be directed to the First United Methodist Church of Hampshire.

Barbara C. Capocasa
Barbara C. Capocasa, 85, of Carpentersville, died Wednesday October 30, 2002 at her home. She was born on August 18, 1917 in Carpentersville, the daughter of Santo and Angelina (Rotundo) Corapi.
She was a life long resident of Carpentersville and a life long member of the St. Catherine Of Siena Church in West Dundee. Mrs. Capocasa along with her late husband Fred, owned and operated the Wintergarden Card and Gift Shop in the Meadowdale Shopping Center for 30 years.
She is survived by her son, Gregory (Barbara) of Carpentersville; three granddaughters, Gina (Mario) Martino of Gilberts, Diana and Monica Capocasa both of Carpentersville; her brother, Albert (Connie) Corapi of West Dundee; a sister-in-law, Rose Corapi of Elgin; and many nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her her parents; her husband, Fred who died on August 28, 1989; two brothers, Sam and Louie; four sisters, Mary Cirrincione, Rose Szula, Stella "Dolly" Madafari and Josephine Petrucci.
Funeral Mass will be on Monday at 10:00 AM in the St. Catherine Of Siena Church, West Dundee. Burial will follow in the Dundee Township East cemetery, East Dundee. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-6 PM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee and on Monday in the church from 9:00 AM until time of Mass.

Louise Elizabeth McMahon
Louise Elizabeth McMahon, 90, of Willow Lake Estates, Elgin, died Tuesday October 29, 2002 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. She was born in Indiana on April 25, 1912, the daughter of Paul and Anna (Pint) Meyers.
Mrs. McMahon was a 54 year resident of the Elgin area. She was a former employee of Illinois Bell Telephone and Chicago Rawhide. At the age of 85, she retired from Carson's at Spring Hill Mall. She was a member of St. Catherine Of Siena Church West Dundee, past President of the St. Edward High School Mother's Club, member and past President of the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary. Former parishioner and member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church Alter and Rosary Society, Elgin. She was a member of the Illinois Bell Pioneers. She was an avid bridge and other card game player, and active in many card clubs. She was a member of the Willow Lake Lakettes.
Mrs. McMahon was the hard working and loving mother of Marilyn (Stan) McDonald of Huntley and Daniel D. (Anita) McMahon of Carpentersville. She was the actively involved grandmother of Pam (Carl) Abrahamson, Mark (Sandy) Jensen, Cindy Pearson, Craig (Mary) Jensen, Daniel (Kathy) McMahon, Patrick McMahon, Christine (Russell) King, Joseph (Teresa) McMahon and Suzanne (Kevin) Johnston; great-grandmother of Amy, Shannon, Tori, Bryce, DJ, Matt, Darren, Matthew, Brett, Quinn, Chase, Shaine, Merritt, Cassie, Maddie, Carter, Mollie, Andrew, Nathan and Anna; two brothers, Marvin Meyers of Redmond, Oregon and Richard (Virginia) Meyers of Kenosha, WI.; one sister-in-law, Lorraine Meyers of Des Plaines; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; and two brothers, Gerald and Daniel Meyers.
Funeral Mass will be on Saturday November 2, 2002 at 10:00 AM in the St. Catherine Of Siena Church, West Dundee. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-9 PM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee and on Saturday in the church from 9:00 AM until time of Mass.
Please omit flowers, Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary.

Eugene J. "Gene" Pekofske,
Eugene J. "Gene" Pekofske, 72, of Elgin passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2002 in his home. He was born November 27, 1929 in Chicago the son of Joseph and Frances Pekofske. He had been the resident of Lombard for 16 years and had been a resident of Elgin for the past 10 years. He had been employed by Hill Brothers Coffee, Dominicks Food Store and then Jewel Food Store on Larkin Ave.
He was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church of Elgin.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Jane Booker Pekofske whom he married on Nov. 7, 1953; daughter, Diane (Ed) Blaha of Hampshire; three sons, Mike (Kim) Pekofske of Lancaster, Texas, Joe (Julie) Pekofske of Orangeville, CA. Don (Ali) Pekofske of Newark, IL; eight grandchildren, Derek, Ashley and Jared Blaha, Shannon, Jake, Danny, Kulia, Jordan and Thomas Joseph Pekofske; great grandson, Jared Pekofske.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Billy Joe Pekofske,
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1625 W. Highland aVe., Elgin with Rev. Joseph F. Kulak officiating. Burial will be private in Mount Hope cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held Friday from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and Saturday in the church from 10:30 A.M. until the time of mass.
