Edmund "Ted" Garfield
Edmund "Ted" Garfield, 66, a nine year resident of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Elgin, IL, died Sunday, November 7, 2004 at his home. He was born August 24, 1938 in Illinois and was the owner of T-G Auto Body in Elgin for over 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Gail Mary Garfield; three sons, Irvin (Holly) of Gilberts, IL, Russell of Woodstock, IL and Vincent (Humberto) Garfield of Henderson, NV; a daughter, Dawn (Mike) Dumelle of Lake in the Hills, IL; and two grandchildren, Jay and Mitchell Garfield.

Zenobia B. "Crenshaw" Harvell
Zenobia B. "Crenshaw" Harvell, 67, died Tuesday, November 9 at Sherman Hospital.
Zenobia confessed Christ at an early age and moved to Benton Harbor, MI, where she graduated from Benton Harbor High School, and married
Ralph Crenshaw. She loved helping others, reading, and taking walks. She worked at Western Electric in Carol Stream, and most recently at Oak Crest Manor where she worked as a cook. Zenobia was also a graduate of Canella School of Beauty, Elgin, and a proud member of Progressive Baptist Church. She later married
Rev. Allen Harvell, Jr. on November 16, 1991.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Carla in 1978; step-father, Athen Crawford; one grandson, David Crenshaw III; and a Godson, Kenyatta Smith.
She is survived by seven children, Timothy, Renita, Shirleatha, David "Terry", Marco "Ricky", Brenda (Terrance), Jacqui; 38+ grandchildren; 12+ great-grandchildren; one uncle, Bennie Thomas; one aunt, Mary E. Stewart; two Godsons, Nathaniel Carter and Mason Cordor; a host of cousins.
Visitation will be Monday, November 15, 2004 from 9:00 until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the Progressive Baptist Church, 305 Ann Street, Elgin with Rev. Willie Burton, officiating. James E. Fernald
James E. Fernald, 68, of Lincoln, MT passed away at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, MT on Sunday, November 9, 2003.
He was born February 22, 1935 in Elmhurst, IL, the son of Edgar and Leone (Hjelte) Fernald.
James worked as a brick layer for 15 years and also as a farmer, rancher and truck driver, as well as serving in the Illinois National Guard. He particularly enjoyed farming, raising horses and English Mastiffs. He will be missed by all.
His family includes six children, Mark Fernald, Matthew Fernald, Mitchell Fernald and Michael Fernald all of Illinois and Jason Fernald and daughter, Jamie Fernald both of Wisconsin; a brother, Ronald Fernald of Illinois; and special friend, Peggy Childers of Montana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, John L. Fernald.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Garden City Funeral Home & Crematory.
William Charles "Bill" Kaldenberger
William Charles "Bill" Kaldenberger, 65, of Willow Lakes Estates, Elgin died Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at the Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Bill was born in Elgin on April 30, 1938, the son of August and Margaret (nee Mengler) Kaldenberger. Bill was a life long resident of Elgin. He was a 1956 graduate of Elgin High School. He was a lithographer by trade and began his career with Fox Valley Typesetting in Elgin as an apprentice Lino-type operator and spanning a career for 40 years. He worked for companies in Elgin, Geneva and Chicago. Following retirement from printing, Bill worked at the Target Greatland Store in Elgin. He served in the Illinois National Guard 133rd Infantry Division of Elgin. He was a past member of Elgin Moose #799, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Bethlehem Lutheran Church, both in Elgin. Bill loved people and making friends came very easy to him. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years; Carol (nee Langos) Kaldenberger. They married
on August 18, 1962 in Barrington. Their children; Kris (Kim nee Puckett) Kaldenberger and Kurt (Joan nee Peterson) Kaldenberger both of Elgin, four grandchildren: Kayla, Noah, Katie and Cameron, his sister: Shirley (LeRoy) Voga of Newark, IL. Many nieces, nephews and countless friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 15, 2003 from 3-6 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Services and cremation will be private. Because Bill's wish was to be cremated, his family strongly requests that no flowers be sent. Instead, memorials may be made in his memory to any of the following organizations: Fox Valley Hospice, Ronald McDonald House, Jayne Shover Easter Seal Center or the Wayside Center of Elgin.
Marillyn McCarthy
Marillyn McCarthy, 78, of Sleepy Hollow died at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore on Tuesday.
She was born in Chicago on June 17, 1925, the daughter of Norman, Sr. and Irene (nee Simons).
Ms. McCarthy was a many year resident of the Sleepy Hollow area. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, West Dundee. She was a Professor of Mathematics at Wright Junior College in Chicago for 40 years.
She is survived by niece, Susan Feldman of Washington, D.C.; nephews, Robert Ort of Centennial, Wyoming, Mark Ort of Columbia, Missouri, Michael Ort of Fort Collins, Colorado, Glenn McCarthy and Michael McCarthy both of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Irene Ort; and her brother, Norman McCarthy Jr.
Family and friends will meet for funeral Mass on Monday, November 17, 2003 at 10 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, West Dundee. The Reverend David Austin will officiate. Burial will follow at All Saints cemetery, Des Plaines. Visitation will be on Monday at the church from 9 AM until time of Mass. Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee is in charge of arrangements.
Jean McCoy
Jean McCoy, 71, of Elgin, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2003 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born December 4, 1931 in Camden, New Jersey, and was the daughter of Thomas and Edna Marshall. She was a Veteran and served in the U.S. Navy. Jean had worked as a Mental Health Technician at the Elgin Mental Health Center for 26 years prior to her retirement.
Survivors include Shari (Charles) Young of Elgin; five sisters, Dolores Beers of Dover, New Hampshire, Edna (Ray) Buxton of New Fields, New Hampshire, Marty (Paul) Restuccia of Hillsville, VA, Dorothy (Bill) Dawson of New Fields, New Hampshire, Bonnie (Kevin) Kelley of Epping, New Hampshire; two brothers, Thomas (Kitty) Marshall and Ray (Debbie) Marshall both of New Fields, New Hampshire; many friends, family, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lorraine Morin; two nephews, Todd Dawson and David Kuegel.

Dorothea L. (Last) Miller
Dorothea L. (Last) Miller, 87, of Elgin, passed away Monday, November 10, 2003 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born January 1, 1910 and was the daughter of Walter and Hilda Last.
She is survived by her two daughters; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; three sisters; four brothers; nieces and nephews.
Dorothea was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Miller.
She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Elgin.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. William Morris officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services in the funeral home.
Amy M. Rayner
Amy M. Rayner, 98, of Elgin, passed away November 7, 2003 in the Friendship Village Health Care Center, Schaumburg, IL. She was born August 8, 1905 in Welcome, MN and was the daughter of Henry and Caroline Kanning Martens. She had been a resident of Elgin for 50 years. Amy had been an Elementary Education Teacher in School District U-46 for over 20 years prior to her retirement in 1961. In 1984, she relocated to New Ulm, MN and lived near her family until her return in 1992.
She was a member of the St. Hugh of Lincoln Episcopal Church of Elgin.
Survivors include two sons, James W. (Peg) Rayner and Richard A. (Jeanne) Rayner, both of Elgin, IL; six grandchildren, Michael (Jan) Rayner of Gilberts, Mark (Catherine) Rayner of South Elgin, Jennifer (Mark) Wilnewic of South Elgin, Sara (Dean) Johnson of South Elgin, Jeff (Chris) Rayner of Schaumburg, IL, and Jane (Brett) Thomas of Henderson, NV; fifteen great-grandchildren; her sister, Alice Hartung of Mankato, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reginald Rayner in 1983; five brothers and three sisters.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2003 in the St. Hugh of Lincoln Episcopal Church, SE corner of Randall Rd. and Highland Ave., Elgin, at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Raymond E. Welch, Jr.
Raymond E. Welch, Jr., 42, of Marengo, IL died Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at University of Illinois Medical Center, Chicago.
He was born on August 15, 1961, the son of Raymond E. and Vera Campbell Welch. On September 12, 1990, he married
Kelly Lewandowski in Geneva, IL.
He is survived by his wife Kelly of Marengo; two children, Jason Welch of South Elgin and Elizabeth Welch of Marengo; his parents.
Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2003 at the Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy, Marengo, IL 60512. Visitation will be held from Noon until the time of services in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
William J. Bolton
William J. Bolton, 83, of Elgin passed away Friday, November 12, 2004 in his home. He was born September 17, 1921 in Walworth, Wisconsin. He had been a resident of Elgin for over 50 years. He was owner of Elgin Wiring and Fixture before retiring and was a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Local 177 Electrical Workers Union.
Surviving are his daughter, Ellen (William) Leady of London Mills, IL; a son, Michael (Teena) Bolton of Elgin; six grandchildren, Kristie, Cole (Bonita), Rebecca, Angela (Shawn), Kelly and Timothy; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Katherine Windorf of Elkhorn, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Cooper Bolton whom he married
on March 12, 1948; a sister; and three brothers.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 15, 2004 at 10 AM at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. James Fandrey officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 8 PM in the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
Marjorie L. Fog
Marjorie L. Fog, 72, of Huntley passed away Friday morning, November 12, 2004 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. She was born December 30, 1931 in Chicago, the daughter of Fred and Beatrice (Bayliss) Ottenbacher. Marjorie married
Peter J. Fog on January 19, 1952 in Chicago and they were longtime residents of Carpentersville.
Surviving are three daughters, Susan (Craig) Miller of Hampshire, Laura (Vince) Carlo of Marengo and Bonnie (Mark) Evans of Texas; seven grandchildren, Troy (Michelle) Miller, Brett Miller, Aaron Carlo, Aimee Carlo, Katie, Will and Steven Evans; a sister, Marilyn Larkin of Hillside; a brother, Fred (Joy) Ottenbacher of Palatine; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Peter in 1973; and a sister, Betty Thielen.
Funeral Services will beheld at 1 PM Monday at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire with the Rev. Doug Dunton officiating. Visitation will be held prior to funeral services on Monday from 3 to 7 PM. Private burial will be held in the Dundee Township cemetery East.

Helen May Brown
Helen May Brown, 79, of Dresden, Tennessee died Sunday, November 9, 2003 at her home. She was born in Weakley County, Tennessee on February 6, 1924. She was the daughter of Verley and Lula (nee Melton) Smith.
Mrs. Brown was a former many year resident of the Carpentersville area. She was a former many year employee of Chicago Rawhide. She was a member of the Sand Hill Baptist Church and Woodman of the World, both in Dresden, Tennessee.
She is survived by her son, Gerald W. (Sharon L.) Brown of Carpentersville; two granddaughters, Michelle (Roy) Rankin of Huntley and Kristin Brown of Des Plaines; two grandsons, Jason (Lisa) Brown of Huntley and Kevin Brown of Carpentersville; three great-grandchildren, Nathan Brown, Shonna and Kylie Rankin. Her sister, Mavis Parsley of Dresden, Tennessee also survives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Brown on June 15, 1995; one brother, Billy Joe Smith.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. The Rev. Larry Zea will officiate. Carolyne McCornack, 84, of Naperville, formerly of Elgin, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2003 in Naperville. She was born January 13, 1919 in Gainesville, GA to Marianna and Albert Meyer.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Devine of Portland, OR; one grandson, David Devine.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander E. McCornack, Jr. in 1984 and her parents.

Mary L. (Booten) Roesler-Castello, 80, of Carpentersville, passed away Monday, November 10, 2003 in her home.
She was born in Evansville, IN on January 6, 1923 to John and Virginia (Carrier) Booten.
She has been a resident of Carpentersville for over 40 years. She was a former employee of Stewart Warner in Elgin, and of Jewel-Osco in Carpentersville.
She is survived by her four children, Michael (Betty) Roesler, Stephen A. Roesler, William F. (Linda) Roesler, Margaret A. (Douglas) DeMuth; beloved grandmother to Kimberly (Scott) Clauson, Michael Roesler, Robert A. Roesler, Ryan Roesler, Heather Roesler, William I. (Stephanie) Roesler, Yvonne Cutchin, Jaime Latina, Jackie (Andrew) Latina-Weeks, Rebecca Latina and Jennifer DeMuth; dear great-grandmother of Kaitlyn Clauson, Robert A. Roesler, Jr., Christina Johnson and Chloe Weeks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Virginia (Simpson) Booten and a granddaughter, Jennifer Latina.
