Patrick William Smith
Patrick William Smith, 7, of Carpentersville, formerly of Hoffman Estates, died peacefully Sunday, November 14, 2004 at his home, surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with Neuroblastoma. He was born on January 26, 1997 in McHenry. Patrick was a second grade student at the Liberty Elementary School in Carpentersville. He was a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Church, West Dundee. Patrick loved baseball and football. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races and collecting and trading Yu-Gi-Oh cards.
He is survived by his parents, Daniel and Yvette (nee Pohar) Smith; his brothers, Nathan, Owen, Ryan and Liam all at home; and a half-sister, Danielle Smith of Harrison Township, Michigan; his maternal grandparents, Frank and Carole Pohar of LaSalle; his paternal grandparents, Bill and Leona Smith of Oglesby, IL. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal great grandparents.
Family and friends will meet for Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 7 PM in the St. Catherine of Siena Church, West Dundee. The Rev. David Austin will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Vincent cemetery in LaSalle. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 PM until time of Funeral Mass at 7 PM in the St. Catherine of Siena Church, 845 W. Main St., West Dundee. Please omit flowers, memorials may be made to either the Children's Memorial Hospital Child Life Services or The Children's Memorial Hospital Neuroblastoma Research Program. Dick Quon Chin
Dick Quon Chin, 70, of Elgin, Illinois died Wednesday, November 13, 2002 at his home in Elgin.
He was born June 1, 1932 in China to Yuk Chin Mah and Yue Sheung Wong.
Dick had been a Chef in the Elgin and Dundee areas for many, many years. He had worked at the Tower Grill, The Embers, Floyd's, Chateau Louise, The Swedish Manor Nordic Steak and Pub and retiring in 1997 from the Elgin B.P.O.E. #737 Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his sons, Rick (Alicia) Chin of Gainesville, Florida and Randall Chin of Bartlett, Illinois; his daughter, Ronda (Don) Taylor of Elgin, Illinois; two brothers, Bak Won of Prince George, Canada and Buck Jee Wong of China; four sisters, Ngar Sou Wong of China, Ngar Kwun Chu of Toronto, Canada, Ping Mah of Toronto, Canada and Ngar Hing Wong of China; his granddaughter, Victora Chin of Gainesville, Florida; his nephew, Michael Mah; and his niece, Mabel Mah.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 18, 2002 at 10 AM at the Wait Ross Allanson Elgin Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin, Illinois with the Reverend Thomas O'Connor of St. Paul's United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 17, 2002 from 4 to 8 PM in the funeral home chapel.

David Lawrence Frost, 66, of Elgin, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2002 at Manor Care. Born March 31, 1936 in Elgin to Lester and Ethel (Klein) Frost.
He was employed by the Elgin Cam Company, Dukane, and Dictaphone.
Survivors include daughters, Eileen (Wes) Lloyd of Elgin, Bethany Frost of Springhill, FL; son, David (Jan Spirling) Frost of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Timothy, Louisa, Warren; and two brothers, Gerald (Delores) Frost of East Dundee, Donald Frost of Janesville, WI.

Eleanor D. Graf
Eleanor D. Graf, 93, of Elgin, passed away Friday November 15, 2002 in the Apostolic Christian Resthaven, Elgin. She was born October 24, 1909 in Elgin, IL. and was the daughter of John and Agnes (Carlson) Bodenshatz.
She was a resident of Elgin all her life.
Survivors include three children, Arnold (Nita) Graf of Franklin, NC., Marlene Cammelot of Elgin, IL. and Roger (Mary) Graf of Janesville, WI.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel Graf in 1990; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Clarence and Richard Bodenshatz.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday November 18, 2002 at 10:00 AM in the Laird Funeral Home in Elgin. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-8:00 PM. in the funeral home.

Bernice A. "Bee" Jessen
Bernice A. Jessen, 71, of Spring Hill, Florida. Former many year resident of Dundee Township died Thursday, November 14, 2002 at her home, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Chicago on December 19, 1930, the daughter of William and Irma (nee McDuff) Bailey. Bee was a resident of Spring Hill, Florida for the past seven and a half years. Prior to moving to Florida, she lived in Dundee Township. Bee worked as a Realtor in the Dundee area for many years and was a former employee of Stark Real Estate in West Dundee. Bee was a former long time member of St. Catherine Of Siena Church, West Dundee.
Bee is survived by her husband of 40 years, Ronald. They married
on September 1, 1962 in River Grove, Illinois. Six children, Kathy Garrett of St. Charles, IL, Valerie Kohen of Spring Hill, Florida, Sharon Sasso of Itasca, IL, Susan Frank of Birmingham, Alabama, Lloyd Jessen of Tracy, California and Robert Jessen of Elgin; grandmother of 13; one sister, Marilyn Pecoraro of Gilberts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Michael P. Bailey and a son, Wayne A. Jessen.

Victor Nelson, 81 of Elgin, formerly of Bartlett, IL, passed away Thursday in Sherman West Court, Elgin. He was born February 5, 1921 in Hawick, MN and was the son of Christopher and Dorthea Nelson.
Survivors: several nieces and nephews. Preceded by parents, wife, Raphael Nelson in 1996, three brothers, Louis, Alfred, and Marvin Nelson; one sister, Dorothy Funk.

Jeanne A. Kehe
Jeanne A. Kehe, 80, of Elgin passed away Sunday, November 14, 2004 at Sherman Hospital following a stroke. She was born December 8, 1923 in Chicago, the daughter of Charles and Pearl Carlson Linden.
She was a resident of Willow Lake Estates in Elgin, and an avid angel collector of all types. She was past president (1992-96) of "Angels of the World, Inc."
Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Kenneth Kehe; her children, Jill (Elmore) Fritz of McHenry, Kimberley (John) Shull of Georgia, Jan Beth (Mark) Wozny of Chicago, and John (Susan) Milke Jr. of Washington; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Kimberly (Richard) Garrity of Barrington and Terri (Ed) Ogorek of Rolling Meadows.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Gerald Doney in 1950; and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Wednesdat at Noon at Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at Noon. Martin F. "Marty" Schumacher
Martin F. "Marty" Schumacher, 52, of East Dundee died Sunday, November 14, 2004 at the Sherman Hospital in Elgin. He was born in Elgin on January 29, 1952. He was the son of Richard L. and Rosemary C. (nee Warner) Schumacher.
Marty was a life long resident of the Dundee area and a 1970 graduate of Dundee Community High School. He was employed by Fox River Graphics of Carpentersville.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Tani K. (nee Busleta) Schumacher, whom he married
on August 31, 1978; their son, Martin F. "Marty" Schumacher II of East Dundee; six brothers, Richard II (Kate) Schumacher of West Dundee, Kurt (Janet) Schumacher of Elgin, Karl (Sue) Schumacher of Hampshire, Roy (Jenny) Schumacher of West Dundee, Matthew (Annette) Schumacher of Poplar Grove, Franz (Laura) Schumacher of Carpentersville; five sisters, Ruth Ann Schumacher of Marengo, Margaret (Rick) Love of East Dundee, Mary Ann Schumacher of Elgin, Marilyn (Darrell) Zickur of Rochelle and Janet (Ray) Bailey of Gilberts; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Joseph; and a nephew, Jason.

Tekla Didenko, 82, of Carpentersville died Saturday, November 16, 2002 at St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
Born on October 28, 1920 in Stanislaw, Poland to Alex and Anna Wasyliu.
She was a 27 year resident of Carpentersville.
She is survived by her loving children, Catherine (Dennis Sr.) Mierzwa, Anna (Jerry) Waskow, Jan (Ron) Teeple, John (Malena) Didenko, Mary (Ascencion) Godinez, Mike Sr. (Kim) Didenko, Linda (John) Sabella; beloved grandchildren, Dennis Jr., Christopher, Kimberly, Kelly, Layla, Jason, Sherrie, Maria, Vanessa, Grace, Adam, Aaron, Mike Jr., Melanie, Nicholas, Austin, and Jacob; dear great grandchildren, Dennis III, David, Scott, Emily, Quentin, Dylan and Lindsey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Ivan Didenko who died on June 29, 1973.

Martha L. Iddings
Martha L. Iddings, 69 of Harvard former many year resident of Carpentersville died Thursday, November 14, 2002 at her home. She was born in Danville, Arkansas on September 23, 1933. she was the daughter of Roy J. & Edle (nee Stepps) Jones.
Martha was a member of the First Apostolic Church of Carpentersville. She volunteered at the Community Crisis Center in Elgin and also volunteered at the Senior Citizen Pantry in Harvard.
She is survived by her daughter Tanya (Dave) Clark of Lake In The Hills, sons Donald Iddings of Harvard and Douglas (Mary) Iddings of Union. (8) Grandchildren and (1) Great Grandchild (2) sister; Virginia (Norman) Simpson of Valco, CA and Margaret (JT) Freeman of Russellville, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert E. Iddings on May 11, 1995, 7 brothers, and 4 sisters.

Dorothy M. (Artman) Sheehy
Dorothy M. (Artman) Sheehy, age 85, of Elgin, Illinois, previously of Elizabeth, Illinois, died Saturday, November 16, 2002 at Bowes Nursing Home, Elgin.
Dorothy was born July 8, 1917 in Galena, Illinois, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Beadle) Davis. She married
Oswin Artman May 12, 1937 in Galena. He died April 2, 1980 in Elizabeth. She later married
William Sheehy November 14, 1986. He died July 31, 1993.
Dorothy farmed with her husband Oswin in the Elizabeth area. She also worked at Eaton Corporation, Hanover for many years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Elizabeth.
Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Helen (Ken) Hostman of Elgin, Illinois; three grandsons, Randall (Christi) Hostman of Geneva, Illinois, Jeff (Kim) Hostman of Geneva, Illinois and David (Sue) Hostman of Cary, Illinois; six great-grandchildren, Kelley, Lauren, Alicia, Alex, Melanie and Abby; and one sister, Helen (Alfred) Ertmer of Elizabeth, Illinois.
Dorothy was preceded in death by both husbands, two brothers, three sisters and both parents.
A funeral Mass will be held 12 Noon, Monday, November 18, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Elizabeth with Father Everett Hiller officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic cemetery, Elizabeth. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM to 12:00 Noon at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Elizabeth.
