Gallilee Spates
Gallilee Spates, 56, of Elgin, residing in Rockford, died Sunday, November 21, 2004 at Swedish American Hospital.
She was born in Shannon, Miss. on March 24, 1948, to the union of Jimmie and Jossie Lee Spates, Sr.
Gallie moved to Elgin in the early 50's where she attended school and lived most of her adult life before moving to Rockford, where she worked for the Department of Rehabilitation for nine years and cared for her older sister, Geraldine. She was also employed by Elgin Rawhide, and Western Electric in Rolling Meadows.
Gallie was preceded in death by a daughter, Seclanda; her parents; and both her maternal and paternal grandparents.
She is survived by her fiance, Larry Bloodsaw; a son, Carlos Spates of South Bend, IN; two daughters, Starlette (Derrick) Mayes and Mercedes Bloodsaw both of Rockford; two granddaughters, Tymora and Keyonna; two grandsons, Derrick Jr. and Jared: three sisters, Geraldine Fitzpatrick, Barbara Spates and Lanitta (Darron) Simmons, all of Rockford; three brothers, Jimmie Spates Jr. of Aurora, Ricky Spates and Dennis Johnson, both of Elgin; two very special cousins, Doris Johnson of Denver, CO and Terry Johnson of Elgin; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday from 9 AM until time of service at 10:30 AM at the Living Gospel C.O.G.I.C., 1515 Dundee Ave, Elgin with Pastor Leonard Spates Jr. officiating. Robert E. Coon
Robert E. Coon, 77, of Elgin died Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at Sherman Westcourt, Elgin.
He was born March 5, 1926 in Albia, Iowa, the son of S. Burl and Mabel (nee Codner) Coon.
Bob was a resident of the area for 52 years. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a long time member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, East Dundee.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dolores I. (nee Mueller) Coon, they married
on July 22, 1950; four children, Gary (Catherine) Coon of Hampshire, Sharon Zamp of St. Charles, Gregory (Lynette) Coon of Elgin and Robinette (Bruce) Burklow of Hampshire; seven grandchildren, Jaclyn and Gary Coon, Paul and Ashley Zamp, Bruce Robert, Brittany and Baily Burklow; and a brother, Jerry (Wanda) Coon of Milwaukee, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Dawn Dolores in 1951; and three brothers, Burl, Monte and Charles.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2003 at 10 AM in the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 310 E. Main Street, East Dundee with The Rev. William P. Yonker, Senior Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee.
Visitation will be on Friday from 3 to 8 PM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee and on Saturday in church from 9 AM until time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immanuel Legacy Fund.
Cecelia Korlaske
Cecelia Korlaske, 85, of Longmont, CO, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2003 in the Life Care Center of Longmont.
Survivors include three sons: Clyde (Mary) Korlaske of Elgin, Merle Korlaske of Elgin, Clifford (Linda) Korlaske of Dacono, CO, two grandchildren: Sgt. Jason Korlaske stationed in Germany and Kristin Korlaske of Dacono, CO. A sister-in-law: Shirley (John) Warner of Longmont, CO.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde E. Korlaske in 1999. A service will be held at a later date in Kempton, IL. Bostick Funeral Home, Lupton, CO was in charge of the arrangements.
Selma Yarnell Pilcher
Selma Yarnell Pilcher went home to be with the Lord on November 26, 2003. She was born in Chicago, IL on September 11, 1911. She was the daughter of the late James and Selma Yarnell.
After moving to Elgin, IL in 1954 with her husband and two sons, Selma worked for the Elgin School System as a secretary for the school psychologists until her retirement. She was a member of the Elgin Bible Church. Selma taught Sunday School for many years and sang in the choir. Selma had a love of music and sacred hymns.
Her husband, Bernard, who died on April 15, 2003, preceded Selma in death. They were married
for 61 years. Sons, James (as an infant) and Philip, in February 1989 preceded her in death. Selma is survived by a son, David (Jeanie), three grandchildren, David (Jenna), James (Lorri) and Elizabeth Dorris (Greg) and four great-grandchildren, James, Ruth, Mary Beth, and Daniel Pilcher.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening, November 28, 2003 from 6:30 until 8 p.m. at the Laird Funeral Home in Elgin. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Phil Congdon officiating.
Johanna Westerhouse
Johanna Westerhouse, 87, of Elgin died November 22 in Heritage Manor in Elgin. She was born November 8, 1916 in Chicago and was the daughter of Sam and Seika Westerhouse.
She had been a resident of Elgin since 1947 and had been employed by First National Bank of Elgin before retiring.
There are no immediate survivors.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Wilma Westerhouse; one brother, Herman Westerhouse.
Private services will be held in the Laird Funeral Home with private interment in Acacia Park cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Michael A. Jamieson
Michael A. Jamieson, 49, of Sycamore, formerly of Elign, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2004 from injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was born on August 28, 1955 in Elgin and was the son of Myron and Marie Jamieson.
Michael was a graduate of Larkin High School in 1973. Mike was self-employed as a Farrier in the Elgin and surrounding areas for 24 years.
He was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #1047.
Survivors include his wife, Angel (nee Scholl) Jamieson of Sycamore; two sons, Thomas (Bente Andersen) Jamieson of Harvard, IL and Christopher Jamieson of Cary, IL; two grandchildren, Hannah and Lars; his parents of Elgin; two brothers, Dale (Kathleen) Jamieson of Shawnee, KS and Douglas (DaNell) Jamieson of Geneva, IL; one sister, Sheryl (Andrew) Flores of Elgin, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-8:00 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Memorial services will be held on Monday at 7:00 p.m. in the Christ the Lord Lutheran Church, Elgin.
Jozef Olesinski
Jozef Olesinski, 63, of Elgin, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2004 in his home. He was born March 25, 1941 in Poland and was the son of Jozef and Slanislwa Olesinski. He had been a resident of Cicero, IL for many years and a resident of Elgin for the past five years. He was a Maintenance Engineer.
Survived by his wife, Maria of 45 years; two daughters, Yolanda Hillard of Sheldon, IL and Dorothy Kaminski of Elgin; a son, Andrew Olesinski of Poland; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Joyce E. Grzadziel
Joyce E. Grzadziel, 69, of Elgin passed away Monday, November 17, 2003.
Joyce was born October 24, 1934 in Elgin, the daughter of Arvid B. and Rose H. (Borkhart) Erickson. She had been a lifelong resident of Elgin and was a graduate of Elgin High School, Class of 1952. Joyce married
Walter Grzadziel on April 22, 1961 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin. She worked at Leewards, School District U-46, and First Card/Visa in the Legal Department until her retirement. Joyce was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and organizer of many church functions. Joyce will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are her daughters, Deborah (Edward) Morris and Candace Grzadziel; grandchildren, Amanda, Peter, Jared, and Margretta.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; her parents; her sister, Gloria Erickson-Thies; and her special companion, Tad.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 357 Division Street, in Elgin on Saturday, November 29, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Olin Sletto officiating. Benjamin Harris Kelly Jr.
Benjamin Harris Kelly Jr., born October 1, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois made his transition on NOvember 21, 2003.
He served his country in both Korea and Vietnam and retired from the Army with full honors. Following his military career, he worked as property manager for Draper and Kramer and Wolin-Levin.
Benjamin is survived by his devoted wife, Janice Small Kelly; a sister, Tina of Chicago; a niece, Diane Williams also of Chicago; beloved mother and father-in-law, Vera and William Small of Elgin, IL; three sisters-in-law, Billie (Paul) Barnett of Elgin; LaVeta Small of Fayetteville, GA and Renee Small of San Diego, CA; several cousins, Patrick, David, Lucille and Katherine "Starr" Johnson and Jackie Armstrong of Chicago; a host of great nieces and nephews; and a wealth of friends.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2003 at 11 AM at Leak & Sons, 79th and Cottage Grove in Chicago. Visitation will be from 10 until 11 AM with internment immediately following the services at Holy Sepulcher cemetery in Alsip, IL.

Hannah Elise Farmer, infant, died Friday, November 26, 2004 at CGH Medical Center, Sterling.
Hannah was born November 26, 2004, the daughter of Matthew and Marsha (Kubiuk) Farmer.
Survivors include her parents of Dixon; her sister, Emily Grace Farmer at home; maternal grandparents, Lidia (Antonio) Kubiuk of Elgin; paternal grandparents, Michael (Billie) Farmer of St. Charles; paternal great grandparents, William (Phyllis) Farmer of Sebastian, FL; and maternal great grandmother, Dina Kubiuk of Argentina.
Hannah was preceded in death by her maternal great grandfather, Jennyton Kubiuk.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at the Turning Point Community Church, Dixon with the Rev. Don Beasley, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood cemetery, Dixon. Visitation will be from 10 AM until time of service at the church. A memorial has been established.

Gail Ann Horwitt
Gail Ann Horwitt, 52 of West Dundee formerly of Monroe, CN and Richmond, VA died Thursday, November 25, 2004 at the St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffmand Estates, IL.
She was born on November 27, 1951 in Massapegua, Long Island, New York. Gail was a five year resident of the Dundee area. She was employed by Centex Homes of Elgin.
She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Horwitt; her children, Kyle (Stephanie) Herman of Los Angels, CA, Heather (Wes) Magyar of Denver, CO and Kerri Ann Herman of San Diego, CA; her mother, Helen Schulze Hauff of Milford, New Jersey. Gail is also survived by many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Hauff. Family and friends will be meeting for a memorial service on Saturday, December 4, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road in Huntley. Interment will be private in New Jersey. Gail's family will be receiving family and friends at church from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Roxanne M. Anderson, 44, of Elgin passed away Monday, November 25, 2002 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital. She was born May 24, 1958 in Denver, Colorado, and was the daughter of Edward and Shirlee Anderson. She had been employed by Eagle Food Store, Sherman West Court and Tower Hill Nursing Home.
Surviving are two brothers, Rex Anderson of Alhambra, California, Tryst (Mary) Anderson of Elgin; one aunt, Jeri (Dick) Genz of South Elgin; her father, of Denver, Colorado; one niece, Brook; three nephews, Nathan, Jacob and Nicholas; two cousins, Richard (Melissa) Genz and Ryan (Jane) Genz.
Preceded by her mother; one brother, Scott; grandparents, Earl and Gladys Hedblade.
