Elinor Conner
Elinor Conner, of Elgin, and for a short time of Jacksonville, FL, died suddenly on Friday, November 26, 2004. She was born in Elgin the daughter and only child of Frank and Mary (Eickstead) Bauman.
Mrs. Conner attended school and worked in the Elgin area and in 1959 married Jack A. Conner. Together, they owned and operated Morris Bar-B-Q and Conner's Tavern in Elgin for many years.
She is survived by her beloved son, Jack G. Conner, cousins Dian Burke and Don Krause of Elgin, LaVerne Krause of South Elgin, Wayne Jensen of Princeton IL, Bonnie Mabe of Marengo IL, Betty Lou Thelan of So. Carolina, uncle John Ross of Elgin, childhood friend Jayne Saeger of East Dundee, faithful pet Bessie Mae and many friends in Florida and Illinois.
Preceding her in death were husband, parents and special pet Missy.
Funeral services in Florida will be private. Final resting ceremony in Elgin will be held at a later date.
Donations in Mrs. Conner's name to the Anderson Animal Shelter in South Elgin will be humbly appreciated.

Lois Eleanor Kenyon
Lois Eleanor Kenyon, 87, of Elgin passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2003 in the Apostolic Christian Resthaven, Elgin. She was born June 10, 1916 in Elgin and was the daughter of Albert Z. and Mary (Sherman) Kenyon. She was a lifelong resident of Elgin, and graduated from Elgin High School in 1936. Eleanor had worked at Akemann's Department Store, Joseph Spiess Company, Neils Paint Store, and The Valley Bank Prior to her retirement.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Elgin.
She is survived by her sister, Doris Bachstein of Litchfield, IL; her sister-in-law, Ruth Kenyon of Elgin; many nieces and nephews.
preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Sherman, Arlo, and Albert Kenyon; a nephew, Raymond Kenyon.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the First Congregational Church of Elgin, with Rev. Paris Donehoo officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 Noon until the time of services in the church. Memorials may be made to the church or a charity of one's choice.

Elizabeth C. "Betty" Kostock
Elizabeth C. "Betty" Kostock, 83, of Willow Lake Estates in Elgin passed away Monday, December 1, 2003 in her home. She was born February 6, 1920 in Chicago and was the daughter of James and Lavina Sheridan. She was an active member of many clubs and organizations at Willow Lake Estates. She will be missed by many close friends and relatives.
She was an active member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, as well as a member of the Senior Friendship Club and helping in many activities at the church.
Surviving are her daughter, Kathleen (Bernhard) Kott of Palatine; two sons, William (Arlene) Kostock Jr. of Santa Barbara, California and Michael (Jill) Kostock of Elgin; her grandchildren, James (Marilyn) Kott, Jeffrey (Christine) Kott, Michael Kott, Kelly Kostock, Katie Kostock, Brian Kostock; a great-grandchild, Michelle Kott; two step-great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Kellie Predmore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, William J. Kostock Sr. in 1996; one grandson, John C. Kott.
Funeral Mass will be said at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Elgin. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery, River Grove, IL. Visitation will be in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 State St., Elgin on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and then at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of the Mass. Omission of flowers is requested and memorials may be given to Hospice at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin or to the American Cancer Society.

Mary E. Jones
Mary E. Jones, 70, of Elgin, passed away on Monday, November 29 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on November 17, 1934 in Fairbury, Nebraska and was the daughter of Norman and Stella Cox. Mary married Clark E. Jones in Seattle, WA on January 27, 1959 and they lived in Elgin for most of their married life.
She was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Elgin.
She is survived by her husband of Elgin; her son, John of Elgin; her two daughters, Katherine of Batavia and Lynette (David) Alsip of Elgin; her grandchildren, Blake and Kelsie Jones, Danielle and Chad Alsip all of Elgin, IL; her mother of Washington; her sister, Carolyn (John) Hildebrand of California; three nieces all of CA.
She was preceded in death by her father and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Martin Blazer officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Building Fund or the the Provena St. Joseph Hospital Foundation Cancer Care Center.

Ann Onorato
Visitation for Ann Onorato (nee Prendergast), age 90, formerly of Maywood and Glen Ellyn, will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St. (3/4 mile west of Bloomingdale/Roselle Roads), Roselle, IL 60172. Chapel service to follow at 8 p.m. Cremation is private.
Ann was widowed for over 55 years and raised five children on her own.
She was beloved wife of the late Thomas F.; devoted mother of Frank (Diane), Thomas, Marilyn Neidig, Judy and Nancy (Robert) Pudelwitts; dear sister of Francis Prendergast; dear grandmother of 12; great-grandmother of seven and great-great grandmother of one.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Dundee Twp. Park District Center, 665 Barrington, Carpentersville, IL 60110 appreciated.

John R. Martin
John R. Martin, 75 of Elgin died Monday in his home.
He was born December 15, 1923 in Elgin and was the son of George and Lillian Martin. He had been a resident of Elgin all his life. He was a veteran having served in the Army. John was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, a member of B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #737 of Elgin and a member of American Legion Post #57 of Elgin.
He is survived by his close friend, Grace Hornish of Elgin and several cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, at 1:00 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home in Elgin with Dr. Robert Kasper officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery. Visitation will be at time of services only. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the charity of your choice.

Robert E. Meyer
Robert E. Meyer, 71 of Carpentersville died Monday, December 3, 2001 at his home. He was born in Elgin on April 28, 1930. He was the son of Harry C. and Florence (nee Wascher) Meyer.
He was a life long resident of the area. He was a former 43 year employee of Material Service in Algonquin. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 150 of Elgin. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of East Dundee and the Immanuel Mens Club. He was a member of the Huntley Penguin Snowmobile Club. He was a former coach and game announcer for the Tri-Cities Little League. Bob was a loyal and avid Chicago Team Sports fan. He was also a devoted Grandpa who was very proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their sporting events.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years: Carolyn M. (nee Jewell). They married September 15, 1951. Also survived by two sons, Randall R. (Pamela) and Jeffery A. (Anita), both of Gilberts; four grandchildren, Becky, Ashley, Janelle and Lucas; two brothers, Kenneth (Marilyn) Meyer of Carpentersville and Alan (Judy) Meyer of Elgin; a sister, Marilyn (Bruce) Rakow of Roseville, CA; also many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carolyn Ziller.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 6, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee, the Rev. William P. Yonker officiating. Burial will follow in the River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-9 P.M. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Please omit flowers. Memorials may be made to either the Carpentersville Fire Dept., The Rutland-Dundee Fire Dept., or the Immanuel Lutheran Church Legacy Program.

Albert H. Schuring
Albert H. Schuring, 79, of Gilberts, formerly of East Dundee, died Saturday, December 1, 2001 at his home.
He was born in Elgin on November 11, 1922, the son of Albert and Christina (nee Ford) Schuring.
He was a life long resident of the area. He was a former 22 year employee of Brady Redimix in Elgin and a member of Teamsters Local 330 of Elgin. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, East Dundee.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lucille M. (nee Lamz); a son, Larry (Deborah) Schuring; a daughter, Judy Schuring both of Gilberts; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three sisters, Gladys Woods of Kentucky, Bernice Moeller of Elgin and Esther Lamz of Elburn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, George, Elmer and Fredrick; and two sisters, Eleanor and Elsie.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday at 11 AM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee with the Rev. William P. Yonker officiating. Burial will follow in the Dundee Township East cemetery, East Dundee.
Visitation will be on Monday from 6 to 9 PM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee.

Todd J. Watermann
Todd J. Watermann, 31, of Hampshire, formerly of Elgin, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2001. He was born December 9, 1969 in Rockford, Illinois. Todd resided in Elgin for many years. He was employed by Foxshire Decorating Company. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his fiancee, Lisa Schubbe of Hampshire; his father, Leland (Carol) Watermann of Huntley; his mother, Helen (Dave) Platt of Plato Center; a son, Jacob; a sister, Tanya (Gary) Palmer of South Elgin; three step-sisters, Cheryl (Bob) Abreu of Las Vegas, Cheryl Skinner of Elgin and Christine (Anthony) Maculuso of Bartlett; a step-brother, Chris (Denise) Platt of South Elgin; a grandmother, Violet Watermann of Elgin; a grandfather, Fred Bates of Golconda, Illinois and two nieces, Ashley and Erin Palmer.
preceded in death by a daughter, Danielle Jade in infancy; a grandmother, Ruth Bates and a grandfather, Bert Watermann.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 6, 2001 in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be in Plato Center cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2001 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

Willi F.A. Elke
Willi F.A. Elke, age 50, of St. Charles, IL died Monday, December 2, 2002 at Delnor Community Hospital, Geneva.
He was born June 18, 1952 in Germany.
Willi was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in St. Charles and was a former member of St. Matthew Church in Barrington, IL. Before starting his own business, he had worked for Classic Taping for many years. He loved soccer, baseball and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Elise; two sons, Daniel and Andrew, two sisters, Ingrid (Joseph) Wacelawik of Park Ridge, IL and Ursula (Wally) Krause of Wisconsin Dells, WI; and his mother, Marie Elke of Park Ridge, IL. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilhem Elke and his sister, Irene Kimast.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2002 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, St. Charles. Rev. Timothy Silber will officiate. Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. Thursday at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles. Contributions may be made to a memorial fund being established in his name c/o St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 101 South 6th Avenue, St. Charles, Illinois.

Marie Hodel
Marie Hodel, 83, of Elgin passed away Monday, December 2, 2002 in the Apostolic Christian Rest Haven Nursing Home.
She was born September 12, 1919 in Elgin and was the daughter of Fred and Mamie Rabe.
She had been a resident of Elgin all her life. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ where she served on the church council and a member of the Challengers. She was also a member of the Elgin Woman's Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie (Dave) Starr and Betty (Lyle) Dolan both of Elgin, two grandchildren, Kim (Steve) Wascher and Matt (Stephanie) Starr, three great grandchildren, Ryan Englehardt, Evan Starr and Jacob Wascher, three sisters, Marge Burman, Gladys (Jim) Harp and Betty (Larry) Miller, all of Elgin, a brother, Keith Rabe and his friend Jacki of Elgin, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Louis.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:30 AM in St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 220 Division St, Elgin with Rev. Thomas O'Connor officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery. Visitation will be in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St, Elgin on Thursday from 4 to 8 PM and then at the church on Friday from 11 AM until time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Paul's United Church of Christ or to the Apostolic Christian Resthaven Nursing Home.

Eddie Ray Osorio
Eddie Ray Osorio, 24, of Carpentersville died Tuesday, December 3, 2002
Survived by his parents, Rene and Donna; his children, Iris and Chloe Osorio; a brother, Rene Jr (Amy); two sisters, Delores (Juan) Torres and Lynette Castillo; his maternal grandfather, Carrol Raines; four nephews, Tony Osorio, Devon Castillo, Samuel Castillo and Brenden Ventura; and four nieces, Kara Osorio, Sara Osorio, Mercedes Torres and Thalia Ventura.
Funeral Services will be Friday at 10:30 AM at Community Funeral Home, Located on Rt. 25 between Rts. 72 and 68, East Dundee. Burial, Dundee East cemetery.
Visitation Thursday 5 to 9 PM at the funeral home.

Marie Schramm
Marie Schramm, 90, of Elgin passed away Monday, December 2, 2002 in her home. She was born May 30, 1912 in Arlington Hts., IL. and was the daughter of Theodore and Eleanor Bierbaum. She had been a resident of Elgin most of her life. She graduated from Evangelical Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago. She was a school nurse with School District U46 for 35 years before retiring. She helped establish the Well Child Conference and the School Dental program. She was named Elgin Retired Teacher of the Year in 1991.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, the Sherman Hospital Auxillary and the Elgin and Illinois Retired Teachers Association. She volunteered at the Blood Bank, Soup Kitchen and Kane Co. Health Dept.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Magana of Elgin and Sally Bruce of Aurora, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Maurice (1982) and two sisters, Mildred Kaplan and Myrtle Sherman.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 220 Division St., Elgin with Rev. Thomas O'Connor officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery. Visitation will be in the Laird Funeral Home, 310. S. State St., Elgin on Wednesday from 4 p.m to 8 p.m. and then at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Paul's United Church of Christ or to the charity of your choice.

Dorothy M. Smith
Dorothy M. Smith, 76, of Carpentersville died Sunday, December 1, 2002 at her home.
She was born on December 12, 1925 in Chicago, the daughter of William and Mary (nee Kapla) Haupt.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Gary Held of Carpentersville; two granddaughters, Amy Larsen of Elgin and Amanda Larsen of Hanover Park; and a grandson, Marcus Caldwell of Carpentersville. Dorothy is also survived by a special family, Clyde and Janet Larsen of Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, William, Robert, Floyd and Albert Haupt.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM in the Resurrection cemetery, Justice.
There will be no visitation.
The Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee is in charge of arrangements.

Richard J. Bielefeld
Richard J. Bielefeld, 69, of Elgin passed away Monday, December 1, 2003 in Sherman West Court, Elgin. Born on March 30, 1934 in Elmhurst, IL., the dear son of the late Herbert and Billie Bielefeld; brother of Joan (Dave) Zilis of Glen Ellyn, bud (Marge) Bielefeld of Woodburn, Oregon; best friend and loyal caregiver Gary Culler of Elgin; uncle of eight nieces and nephews; friend to many others in the area. Now at rest after a three year struggle with complications from cancer.
Talented designer and avid horseman, he worked for major art studios in Chicago after graduating from the Art Institute and Army duty. He was the art director for Aparacor Co., designing and overseeing their fashion catalogs. In the late '80s, he was responsible for the designing and refurbishing of teh Sky Boxes at Arlington Park Racecourse after the fire which destroyed much of the facility. He raised and showed American Saddlebred horses, winning many medals through the years.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 8, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in Bluff City cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin.

David J. Harris
David J. Harris, 46, of Streamwood, IL passed away Thursday, November 20, 2003 at his parents' home in Effingham, IL. He was born July 26, 1957 in Chicago, IL and was the son of Frank and June (Cheser) Harris. Dave was a graduate of Elgin High School in 1975. He was a lifelong resident of Streamwood. Dave was formerly employed at Underground Technologies. He loved cars, NASCAR racing, Bears football games, and was always generous to all who knew him.
Dave is survived by his parents of Effingham, IL; his brother, John (Lyn) Harris of Sycamore, IL; three nieces and one nephew.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2003 at 1:30 p.m in the Wait Ross Allanson Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 51 Center St., Elgin with Rev. Joseph F. Kulak officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until the time of services in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Research Fund.
