Bertha Noble
Bertha Noble, 98 of Elgin passed away Thursday, January 26, 2006 at Sherman West Court, Elgin. She was born January 11, 1908 in Elgin the daughter of Karl and Victoria Bogle Hebeisen. She had been a resident of Elgin all of her life and had been employed at the Elgin National Watch Co. and Toastmaster before retiring.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Elgin. She was a former member of the Womens Aux. of the American Legion Post 57. She was an avid golfer and participated in the womens league's at Wing Park and Spartan Meadows.
Surviving are one brother, Alois Hebeisen of Geneva. Nieces, Viola Egger, Dolores Anderson, Marilyn Bender, Janet Riordan, Rosemary Pierro and Louis Areddia. Nephews, Robert Cox, Rick Cox, John Hebeisen, James Hebeisen, Thomas Hebeisen, Charles Hebeisen and William Weber.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Her beloved husband, Elmer. Sisters, Marie Weber and Agnes Cox. Brothers, Anthony, Joseph and Carl Hebeisen.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 31 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Elgin with Rev. James Canova officiating. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin Tuesday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of mass in the church. Memorials may be given to the charity of one's choice.
Dee Hopkins Burandt
Dee Hopkins Burandt, 59, of Gilberts, formerly of Streamwood passed away Friday, January 26, 2001 at St. Alexius Hospital, Hoffman Estates, IL.
She was born September 19, 1941 in Rockcastle, KY.
For many years, Dee ran the dining room at the "L" Station in Gilberts. She was a former Dietary Aide at Streamwood Behavioral Center.
Survivors include her children, Ron (Donna) Stone of Elgin and Sandra Stone of Palatine; two grandchildren, Tom Stone and Amber Ashbaugh; and a sister, Gwen Dennie of Gilberts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Eulena Hopkins.
Memorial services will be held at 8 PM Monday, January 29, 2001 in the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd.), Streamwood/Schaumburg, IL.
Visitation will be from 4 PM Monday, January 29, 2001 until the time of services.
Eunice W. Jacobs
Eunice W. Jacobs, 100, of Batavia, formerly of Dundee, IL passed away Friday, January 26, 2001 at Michealsen Health Care Center in Batavia. She was born November 11, 1900 in Chattanooga, TN to Joseph M. and Winifred (nee Harman) Wolfe.
Eunice is a 1921 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, she is recognized there for being in the Athletic Hall of Fame and also a Phi Beta Kappa. Eunice is past president of Dundee Women's Club. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Dundee prior to moving to Batavia and then became a member of the United Methodist Church in Batavia.
She is survived by her daughter Marilyn Spencer of Wheaton, IL; son Frank Jacobs of Horseshoe Bay, TX; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harry D. Jacobs; one daughter Winifred Burk and grandson Gregory Burk.
Graveside funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M. Monday, January 29, 2001 at Clarendon Hills cemetery in Darian, IL. Rev. Melody Eastman will officiate.

John L. Miller
John L. Miller, 51, of Carpentersville died Friday, January 26, 2001 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
He was born in Chicago on September 26, 1949.
He was a 21 year resident of the Carpentersville area. He was a member of the St. Monica Church of Carpentersville.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Trude Michel Miller. They married
on September 11; two daughters, Bridget (Chris) Zikos of Hoffman Estates and Monica Miller of Chicago; his parents, Clarence and Ruth (nee Duhnsen) Miller of Arlington Heights; two brothers,Jerry (Pat) Miller of Salem, Wisconsin and James Miller of Wheeling; two sisters, Joanne (Steve) Walczynski of Arlington Heights and Jeanne (Tony) Hartmann of Streamwood; his mother-in-law, Mary Michel of Chicago; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 9:15 AM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee to St. Monica Church of Carpentersville for Mass at 10 AM. Burial will follow in the Evergreen cemetery, Barrington.
Visitation will be on Monday from 5 to 9 PM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee.
Ruth Rynders
Ruth Rynders, 78, of DeKalb, formerly of Elgin, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2001 at Pine Acres Health Care Center, DeKalb.
She was born April 8, 1922 in Elgin, the daughter of Clarence and Lula Carswell Anderson. She was a member of the Antioch Moose.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen (Richard) Hayward of Shabbona and Nancy Rynders of Maywood; two sons, John (Lynn) Rynders of Libertyville and George (Joyce) Rynders of McHenry; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald Anderson of Missouri.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 29, 2001 at 10 AM at the Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park, Elgin. Interment Bluff City cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be Monday from 9-10 AM.
George A. Schroeder
George A. Schroeder, 80, of Elgin, formerly of Huntley, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2001 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
He was born October 7, 1920 on a farm in Huntley, the son of George and Martha (Krieman) Schroeder.
Mr. Schroeder had been employed at Woodstock Die Casting for many years.
Survivors include several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Frederick Schroeder, killed in World War II.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, January 31, 2001 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 11008 N. Church St., Huntley with the Rev. Charles W. Kittel officiating. Burial will be in the Union cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to services on Wednesday at the church from 10 to 11 AM.
Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church of Huntley.

Manolia Schult
Manolia Schult, 87, of Carol Stream, formerly of Elgin, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2001 in her home.
She was born August 28, 1913 in St. Louis, MO and was the daughter of William and Lucy B. (Kent) Burroughs.
Manolia was a Registered Nurse. She graduated from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing and worked for over 60 years in her profession. She received her Baccalaureate Degree of Nursing when she was in her 60's. She worked as a nurse for McGraw-Edison for over 20 years, as Assistant Director of Nursing at Sherman Hospital, was a nurse for Jewel Tea Co., Director of Nursing at the Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, worked for the Illinois Department of Public Health, and was employed by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Hospitals for many years prior to her retirement at the age of 84. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Elgin, member of the Order of Eastern Star, member of the Friends of Judson College, and member of St. Joseph Hospital Alumni.
She is survived by daughter-in-law, Dorothy Schult of Carol Stream; three grandchildren, Lori (Tony) Hefel of Kansas, Lisa (Mark) Murphy and Michael (Deanna) Schult, both of Carol Stream; and five grandchildren, Jennifer, Adam, Caitlin, T.J. and Sean.
In addtion to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence in 1978; three sisters; a brother; two sons, James D. Schult in 1980 and Fred in infancy; and great-granddaughter, Jessica Hefel.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 29 at 11:30 AM in the Immanuel Baptist Church, 500 St. Charles St., Elgin with Rev. John Stensrud officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 28, from 3-8 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and also on Monday at the church from 11 AM until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immanuel Baptist Church.
Donald L. Stoxen
Donald L. Stoxen, 76, of Hampshire, passed away Friday, January 26, 2001 at his home.
He was born April 19, 1924 on the family farm in Hampshire, the son of Harry and Edith (Roth) Stoxen.
Donald was a lifelong farmer in Hampshire and married
Mary Jane Mack on December 21, 1955. He was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ in Harmony.
Survivors include five children, Julie (Gary Gilman) Stoxen, Linda (Louis Tisa) Stoxen, Donald Stoxen II, Ann (David) Wesemann and Mary (Thomas) Oehler; nine grandchildren, Joshua, Brett and Alissa Stoxen, Jacob, Liza and Dana Wesemann, Benjamin and Samuel Oehler, and Maggie Stoxen Gilman.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane on April 17, 2000.
Services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, February 3, 2001 at the St. John's United Church of Christ, U.S. Highway 20, in Harmony. A private family burial is planned for a later date in the Harmony cemetery.

Amanda C. Wagner
Amanda C. Wagner, 98, of Byron, formerly of Pingree Grove, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2001 at the Neighbors Nursing Home in Byron.
She was born February 11, 1902 in Galena, IL, the daughter of William and Louise (Muegge) Deininger. She was a former resident of the Pingree Grove and Hampshire area since 1923, retiring to Byron in 1994. Amanda married
John A. Jowaski on June 6, 1923 and he passed away in 1949. Following his death, she married
Theodore C. Wagner on July 8, 1950 and he passed away in 1980. Mrs. Wagner was a longtime member of the St. Peter's Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Society of Pingree Grove, and an avid gardener.
Surviving are her daughters, Rosemary Hyle of Byron and Armella Seyller of Pingree Grove; daughter-in-law, Esther Jowaski of Cook, MN; stepdaughter, Alberta Westgor of Neenah, WI; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Willis Deininger of Galena; many step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wagner was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; daughter, Anne Stark in 1994; son, John W. Jowaski in 1995; three sons-in-law; a stepson; a stepson-in-law; five sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, January 29 at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire with the Rev. Edward A. Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Washington-McQueen cemetery in rural Elgin. Visitation will be held from 3-6 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the Neighbors Nursing Home in Byron or the Alzheimer's Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
Florence Maha Wright
Florence Maha Wright, 95, formerly of Green Bay, Wisconsin, died Friday, January 26, 2001 at her daughter's home in Spring Grove.
She was born in Algonquin, IL on March 27, 1905, the daughter of Dr. Frank and Helen (nee Layer) Maha.
She attended Northern Illinois University and Wheaton College where she earned her teaching degree. She taught in Dundee for 12 years. She married
Lawrence D. Wright in Dundee in 1936 and then they moved to Green Bay in 1939 where she resided for over 50 years. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Day Star Chapter #151 in Carpentersville. A life member of the Wisconsin PTA, a charter member of the Pilgrim Congregational Church, a member of the Shrine Auxiliary and the Women's Club of Green Bay.
She is survived by two daughters, Betsy (Doug) Swiggett of Spring Grove, Illinois and Mary (Duane) Brummett of Niceville, Florida; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Beke` of Niceville, Florida; a brother, Charles (Ruth) Maha of West Dundee, IL; a niece, Peggy Wright Mason; and two nephews, Don and Jack Wright.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence D. Wright; and two brothers, Hugo and Frank.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 PM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Burial will follow in the Dundee Township West cemetery, West Dundee.
Visitation will be on Monday from 1 PM until the time of service.

Miles Allen
Miles Allen, 82, of Hampshire, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2002 in DeKalb.
He was born October 26, 1919 in Hampshire, the son of Ernest and Elta (Tewksbury) Allen. Miles married
Anna Danielsen on November 3, 1945 in Harmony.
Mr. Allen was a lifelong farmer in Hampshire. He also had a love for his horses and fishing. He spent many winter days giving horse-drawn sleigh rides to his grandchildren and many summers with his family at his cabin in Skunk Lake, Wisconsin.
Surviving are his wife, Anna; daughters, Karen (Jim) O'Connor and Cindy (Ron) Rakowski both of Hampshire; a son, Ernest "Cork" (Betty) Allen of Browntown, WI; seven grandchildren, Justin (Julie) Allen, Buffy (Matt) Beckman both of Monroe, WI, Danny Allen, Murf (Jessy) O'Connor, Kelly O'Connor, Becky and Andy Rakowski all of Hampshire; six great grandchildren; six sisters, LaVelle Pfaffinger, Cleo (Lloyd) VanVleet both of Hampshire, Carol Crane of Boyne City, Michigan, Garnett (Don) Holsted of Neshkoro, WI, Marion "Mitz" (Ron) Groebner of Brodhead, WI and Lois Allen of Belvidere; and a brother, Sid (Mary) Allen of Juda, WI; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Tim in 1982; and a brother, Lisle in 1956.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, January 29, 2002 at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire with the Rev. Howard Gleason, Pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church of Burlington officiating. Burial will be in the Doty cemetery in Hampshire.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
