Kirk A. Stolt
Kirk A. Stolt, 43, of Elgin, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2004 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin. He was born February 13, 1961 in Elgin and was the son of Thomas and Janice (Fry) Stolt. Kirk was a resident of Elgin for all of his life and graduated from Elgin High School in 1979. He was employed with GE Capital of Barrington.
Survivors include his mother, Janice Stolt of Elgin; his father, Thomas Stolt of Sun City, AZ; his brother, James (Heidi) Stolt of Wauconda, IL; beloved nephew and niece, Tommy and Mallory Stolt; his aunts and uncles, Richard (Elaine) Stolt of Palatine, IL, Charlotte Peck of Kennett, MO, Helen (Bill) Ivery of St. Louis, MO; and many cousins, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, with Rev. Chuck Merkner officiating. Burial will follow in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Provena St. Joseph Hospital Regional Cancer Care Center, Elgin, IL.
Grace L. White
Grace L. White, 77, of Elgin, formerly of Chicago, passed away Monday, December 31, 2001 in her home.
She was born May 14, 1924 in Chicago, the daughter of Leo and Louise Blaha Betlack.
She had been a resident of Chicago for most of her life and had lived in Elgin for the past nine years. She had been employed at the Board of Elections in Chicago for over 20 years and was employed at American Legion Post 57 as a cashier.
Surviving are two daughters, Corky Lieding of Gurnee and Charlene "Chuckie" Bennett of Elgin; four grandchildren, Terry (John) Hacker of Waukegan, Tammy (Ron) Anderko of Antioch, Larry (Jeaneen) Bennet of Hampshire and Kevin Bennett of Elgin; seven great grandchildren, Georgina, Ronnie, Joey, Nicholas, Christy, Abigail Grace and Maddalena; her Goddaughter, Sharon (Lucky) Angelo of Algonquin; and several other special friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mary White; husband, John C. White in 1985; and a brother, William Betlack.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 4, 2002 at 9:30 AM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin to St. Laurence Catholic Church for Mass at 10 AM with Rev. Joseph F. Kulak officiating. Burial will be in Bohemian National cemetery, Chicago.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 3 to 8 PM in the funeral home.

Betty J. White, of Medinah. Funeral services for Betty J. White (nee Vochanyin) will begin at 9:30 A.M. Saturday, at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St. (3/4 mile west of Bloomingdale/Roselle Road), Roselle. A chapel service will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Interment will be in Bartlett cemetery.
Betty was the beloved wife of Jack R.; devoted mother of Donna and Jackie (Larry) Middleton; dear sister of Joanne (Clifford) Priest, Curtis Vochanyin, Karen (Larry) Fleming, Douglas (Riba) Wysocki, Donald (Carol) Wysocki and the late Stanley Vochanyin; and dear auntie Betty of Lee, Linda, Luanne, Laurie, Larry, Lois, Douglas, Judith, Robert, Bradley, Frank, Michael, Keith, Byron and Amanda.

Donna J. "Nonny" Wisniewski
Donna J. "Nonny" Wisniewski, 61, of East Dundee, died Wednesday, January 2, 2002 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. She was born in Chicago on July 20, 1940. Donna was a 23 year resident of the Dundee area and a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of East Dundee.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Thomas C. Wisniewski, Sr., whom she married
on October 8, 1958; four children, Thomas C., Jr., of Washington, Paul S. of Wisconsin, Lisa K. (Eric Hopp) Wisniewski of Elgin and David L. of Chicago; five grandchildren, Rachel, Nicole, Daniel, Shawn and Mark, Jr.; her mother, Marie Walker Dugan of Wisconsin; a sister-in-law, Barbara Wisniewski McGrath.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leo Dugan and a son, Mark Wisniewski.
Funeral services will be on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, East Dundee. Burial will be private. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee and on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. in church prior to the funeral service. Please omit flowers. Francis Harold Dermott
Francis Harold Dermott, age 95, of Middleton, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday evening, January 1, 2004, following a brief illness.
He enjoyed his life up to the end through staying current with world events, visiting with family and friends, and playing euchre. He was born on September 10, 1908, in Custer Township, Illinois, the son of John and Martha (Day) Dermott.
He married
Rose Marie (Kopriva) on February 3, 1934, and they lived in Illinois until moving to Wisconsin in 1955. Francis and Rose dairy farmed until Rose's death in 1989.
He is survived by his children, Shirley Banbury of West Dundee, Illinois, Doris McCarroll (AJ Granger) of McHenry, Illinois, and Richard (Jan) Dermott of Middleton. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Michael Dupre, Michelle Dupre, Melissa McCarroll (Roy St. Vincent) and Jeni (Mark) Urfer; four great-grandchildren, Cassandra Dupre and Lucien, Enzo and Ruby St. Vincent; and a sister, Ruby Bauer of Bonfield, Illinois. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; an infant son, Michael; two brothers, Edward and Clarence Dermott; and two sons-in-law, Stephen Dupre and Gale Banbury.
Inurnment and a private family service will be held on a later date in Illinois.

Dorothy M. Dietrich
Dorothy M. Dietrich, 83, of Elgin, formerly of LaGrange Park, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2004 at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born February 20, 1920 in Chicago, the daughter of George and Elwin Vaughan Ballentine.
She had been employed as a medical transcriber before retiring.
She attended St. Hugh of Lincoln Episcopal Church of Elgin. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the EICHE Women's Auxiliary of the Turner's Club.
Surviving are her three daughters, Judith E. Jankowski of Tomah, WI, Marilyn A. (Dennis) Rompala of Boise, ID, Susan L. (Dean) Dettman of Elgin; two sons, David A. (May) Dietrich of Western Springs, Robert L. Dietrich of Monroe, WI; sixteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one sister, Alice Kalenda of Scottsdale, AZ; one brother, Robert Ballentine of Niagra Falls, NY.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis Russell on March 27, 1992; one son, Donald Lee Dietrich in infancy; two brothers, Leroy Ballentine and George in infancy.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 5, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Hugh of Lincoln Episcopal Church, Elgin (Corner of Randall and W. Highland) with Rev. Thomas Atamian officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Park cemetery, Calumet Park, Illinois. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral and Cremation Services, Elgin Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Hugh of Lincoln Episcopal Church or the American Cancer Society.
Bernice Albers
Bernice Albers, 91, of Elgin died Friday, December 31, 2004 at Bowes Retirement Center. She was born December 9, 1913 in Chicago, the daughter of Edward and Pearl (Shunterman) Jost. In 1935, she was married
to Harold Albers.
Survivors include a son, Jack Albers of Casa Grande, AZ; a daughter, Susan Smith of Elgin; two sisters, Geraldine Bianchi and Ruby Keys both of Mesa, AZ; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at a later date. There will be no visitation. Burial is private at Acacia Park cemetery, Chicago.

Robert J. Biesterfeld
Robert J. Biesterfeld, 88, of Elgin, died on December 31, 2004 at the Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy, IL. He had been a resident there since September of 2004. He was the adopted son of August and Emily (Simms) Biesterfeld. Bob was born in Chicago, IL on May 24, 1916 and placed into the St. Vincent's Infant Asylum orphanage. Upon adoption sixteen months later he was brought to Elgin where he was raised and lived his entire life.
Bob graduated from Elgin High School in 1934. He enlisted into the U.S. Army in October of 1942. While stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA he married
Florence Rose Heideman of East Dundee on June 4, 1943. He received a medical discharge in August on 1943 soon after being knocked down by a lightning strike while marching in the rain at Camp Adair, OR. He had worked at the Elgin Watch Factory, Herman's Store for Men in Elgin, Salesman for Fischer Ornamental Iron in River Grove and a Salesman for Fox Valley Fence Co. in South Elgin before retirement in 1978. He was a member of the American Legion, Elgin Post #57 for the past 65 years and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Elgin Lodge #799 for the past 25 years. He was an avid golfer and fisherman, loved dancing and playing cards. He was a charter member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas V. Biesterfeld of Colorado Springs, CO, Gary P. Biesterfeld of Elgin, IL; two grandchildren, Jennifer Biesterfeld of Englewood, CO and Jeffrey Biesterfeld of Colorado Springs; a great grandson, Scott Fouss of Englewood, CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Florence in 1969; a good friend, Marine Dunning in 1991; and an uncle, William Simms.
Visitation will be Monday, January 3, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the O'Connor-Leetz Funeral Home, Elgin with funeral mass to be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Fr. Isabelle M. Dalby, 91, of Elgin, formerly of Hampshire and Huntley areas passed away Thursday, December 30, 2004 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
She was born July 28, 1913 in Quincy, the daughter of Christopher and Ella (Cramsey) Brocksieck.
On December 29, 1935 in Cary she married
Aage N. Dalby. Isabelle lived in the Hampshire, Huntley and Elgin areas all of her life and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane Wunsh of Pana, IL; a son, Wayne (Nancy Lee) Dalby of St. Petersburg, FL; five grandchildren, Sherry Scott of Wilmer, AL, Dawn Fekete of Elgin, Debbie Campbell of Aurora, Dean Campbell of Elgin and Doreen Warner of Lake in the Hills; 17 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; a brother, Albert Brocksieck of Mendon, IL; four sisters, Mildred Decker of Mendon, IL, Helen Hale of Augusta, IL, Shirley Durk of Hull, IL and Mary Slagel of Rock Island, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aage on December 30, 1982; two grandsons, Daniel James and Brian John Dalby; one brother, Leroy Brocksieck; two sisters, Francis Wade and Louise "Betty" Decker.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 3, 2005 from 4 to 8 PM at the James A. O'Connor Funeral home, 11603 E. Main St., Huntley, IL. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at the funeral home with the Rev. Karam F. Azab officiating. Burial will be in the Huntley cemetery. Frances M. Kurt
Frances M. Kurt, 97, of Elgin, formerly of the Dundee area, passed away January 1, 2005 in her home. She was born on December 25, 1907 in Dundee, IL and was the daughter of Frank and Alice Sphonholtz. Frances had worked at the Elgin National Watch Factory, and Lee Wards for many years prior to her retirement.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Granger of Elgin; three grandchildren, Michele Fisher of Glen Ellyn, IL, Kevin Granger and Debra Scott both of Elgin; and three great grandchildren, Ethan Crawford, Ryan Fisher and Kendra Brandenburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emil Kurt in 1967; two grandchildren, Patricia Granger and Kimberly Brandenburg; two brothers; and a sister.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
Gordon L. Menz
Gordon L. Menz, 74, of South Elgin, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2004 in the Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin, after a year-long battle with oral cancer. He was born on June 7, 1930 in Elgin, and was the son of Carl and Leona Menz. He had worked for the Canteen Corporation for many years prior to his retirement. Gordon was a die hard Cubs fan. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his son, Larry Menz of South Elgin; two granddaughters, Katie and Stephanie Menz; and many family, friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-son, Paul Scarlata; his brother, Jerry Menz.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 from 4-7 p.m. with a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, 120 S. Third St. (corner of Third and Oregon), West Dundee, IL 60118. Memorials may be made to the family or the Provena St. Joseph Hospital Regional Care Center, Elgin.
