Dorothy A. Molnar
Dorothy A. Molnar, 82, of Carpentersville died Sunday, January 2, 2005 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. She was born on January 28, 1922 in Chicago, the daughter of Roy O. and Bridget A. (nee Doyle) Kester. Mrs. Molnar was a resident of the Carpentersville area for 41 years. She was a long time and active member of the First United Methodist Church in West Dundee where she was a former choir member and Dorcas Circle member. She was a member of the Dundee Township Senior Citizens Organization, and the 50 Plus Club. Dorothy loved to sing and was a member of the Octave Plus Chorale Singers.
she is survived by her three daughters, Carol Barkhurst of Carpentersville, Pamela (Samuel) Smith of Dundee Township and Beverly (David) Smith of East Dundee; her grandchildren, Carl (Cheryl) Figgins, Bridgette (Keith) Anderson, Davis Smith Jr, Timothy Smith, Tammy Hay and Scott Smith; her great grandchildren, Dillon and Abigayle Figgins, Shawn and Steven South, Shannon Hay and Kirsten Smith; and her sister, Audrey Smith of Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Carl Stammerjohn in 1945; her second husband, Carl Molnar in 1970; and her brother, Charles Kester.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM in the First United Methodist Church of West Dundee. Burial will follow in the Dundee Township East cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee and on Wednesday in church from 9:30 AM until time of services. Jagoda Nikolic
Jagoda Nikolic, 83, of Genoa, formerly of Elgin passed away at her home on December 31, 2004. She was born April 13, 1921 in Yugoslavia, the daughter of Stanimir and Milica Prelic Damjanovic.
After moving from Elgin she lived and farmed in Genoa since 1972.
She is survived by her son, Branko (Leanne) Nikolic of Rockford.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Radosav Nikolic in 1994; her brother, Slobodan Damjanovic and her sister, Milica Damjanovic.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at St. Save Monastery in Libertyville at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at St. Sava cemetery in Libertyville. Visitation will be on Monday, January 3, 2005 at Madison Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with prayers at 7:00 p.m.

Edna R. Palmer
Edna R. Palmer, 91, of Genoa died Sunday, January 2, 2005 at Kishwaukee Community Hospital.
She was born January 1, 1914 in Edman Township, IL. She was married
to Virgine E. Palmer.
Edna was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Genoa, the oldest member of the home extension of the Genoa Ladies Birthday Club.
She is survived by two sons, Gary (Lorna) Palmer of Genoa and Ron (Wendy) Palmer of Elgin; two grandchildren, Michelle (Jack) Guiffre of Naperville and Danielle Palmer of Elgin; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1988 and a half-sister.
Her funeral service will be Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church of Genoa with Rev. Timothy E. Frick officiating. Burial will be at the Hampshire Township cemetery.
Her visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home of Genoa.

Kirk A. Stolt
Kirk A. Stolt, 43, of Elgin, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2004 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin. He was born February 13, 1961 in Elgin and was the son of Thomas and Janice (Fry) Stolt. Kirk was a resident of Elgin for all of his life and graduated from Elgin High School in 1979. He was employed with GE Capital of Barrington.
Survivors include his mother, Janice Stolt of Elgin; his father, Thomas Stolt of Sun City, AZ; his brother, James (Heidi) Stolt of Wauconda, IL; beloved nephew and niece, Tommy and Mallory Stolt; his aunts and uncles, Richard (Elaine) Stolt of Palatine, IL, Charlotte Peck of Kennett, MO, Helen (Bill) Ivery of St. Louis, MO; and many cousins, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, with Rev. Chuck Merkner officiating. Burial will follow in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin. Carol B. "Pudge" Crane
Carol B. "Pudge" Crane of Boyne City, Michigan, formerly of Hampshire, IL passed away on December 25, 2004 in Boyne City. She was born December 6, 1925 to Ernest and Elta (Tewksberry) Allen at the farmstead on Allen Rd. in Hampshire. She married
Alfred Crane of Hampshire on March 11, 1944. He preceded her in death in June 1992.
The Cranes were farmers in the Hampshire area before moving to Boyne City in 1954. They continued to farm in the Boyne City area.
"Pudge" as she was affectionately known by friends and family enjoyed genealogy, researching both the Allen and Tewksberry family history as well as the Crane family history. She was a crafter, enjoying quilting, tatting, various wood projects, baking and decorating cakes for special occasions, among other things. She was a taxidermist, licensed by the State of Michigan, as was evidenced by the many beautiful animals displayed in her home. She was a staunch Democrat and loved a political debate. Her witty and humorous letters kept the family and friends connected.
She is survived by two son, David Crane of Wintersville, GA and Jeff (Glenda) Crane of Boyne City; four sisters, La Velle Pfaffinger, Cleo Van Vlect of Hampshire, Garnet (Don) Holsted of Neshkoro, WI and Lois Allen of Belvidere; a brother, Sid (Mary) Allen of Juda, WI; sisters-in-law, Anna Allen of Hampshire and Violet Switzer of Marengo; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Groebner of Brodhead, WI; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; as well as a multitude of friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Mark; two brothers, Lisle "Cy" and Miles Allen; and a sister, Marian "Mitzi" Groebner.
Joseph J. "Joe" Geib
Joseph J. "Joe" Geib, 67, of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Mount Prospect, IL, passed away suddenly at his home on December 30, 2004. He was born on October 14, 1937 in Chicago, IL.
Joe was retired as Vice President of Engineering at Cummins Allison after working there for over 40 years. He served three years in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Geib (Terranella); children, Rich (Sheryl) Radke, Bill (Annette) Radke, Diane (Scott) Borg, and Janet (Daniel) Intravaia; step-children, Tom Terranella, Julie Birkenheier, and Scott Terranella; grandchildren, Danielle Johnson, Kristin Intravaia, Melissa Radke, Jessica Intravaia, and Sarah Radke; step-grandchildren, Metthew Birkenheier and Daniel Birkenheier; and brother, John Geib.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Clara Geib; and brothers and sisters, Ardinia Wodocholoski, Clarence Wiham, Katherine Geib, Ralph Geib, James Geib, and Donald Geib.

Leona E. Gifford
Leona E. Gifford, 81, of Carpentersville died Sunday at her home. She was born on November 6, 1923 in Chicago. She was the daughter of Frank and Paulina Stolinski. On September 9, 1944, she married
Glen E. Gifford, former Mayor of Carpentersville, in Chicago.
Mrs. Gifford was a resident of Carpentersville for 50 years. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse who worked for many years at Sherman Hospital until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church of Carpentersville and an avid bowler.
She is survived by her children, Gail J. (Ron) Seyller of Elgin and Terrance A. Gifford of Carpentersville; four grandchildren and five great-grandsons; a twin brother, Roman (Marge) Stolinski of Skokie and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years who died on August 28, 2002.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at 9:15 a.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee to St. Monica Church, Carpentersville for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Dundee Township East cemetery, East Dundee. Frances M. Kurt
Frances M. Kurt, 97, of Elgin, formerly of the Dundee area, passed away January 1, 2005 in her home. She was born on December 25, 1907 in Dundee, IL and was the daughter of Frank and Alice Sphonholtz. Frances had worked at the Elgin National Watch Factory, and Lee Wards for many years prior to her retirement.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Granger of Elgin; three grandchildren, Michele Fisher of Glen Ellyn, IL, Kevin Granger and Debra Scott both of Elgin; and three great grandchildren, Ethan Crawford, Ryan Fisher and Kendra Brandenburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emil Kurt in 1967; two grandchildren, Patricia Granger and Kimberly Brandenburg; two brothers; and a sister.

Cheryl A. Sarto (nee Plummer)
Cheryl A. Sarto, 58, of East Dundee, IL, passed away January 1, 2005 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. She was born on August 27, 1946 in Elgin, and was the daughter of Lloyd and Lois (nee Hovet) Plummer. Cheryl had worked as a Realtor in the Dundee area for 20 years, and most recently at the Dundee Public Library, for 12 years. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Amy (nee Leske) Lanoue of Aurora, IL; two uncles, Rich Kamp of East Dundee, IL and Buck Plummer of West Dundee, IL; an aunt, Ibby Holtz of Elgin, IL; and numerous family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband, Steve Leske in 1994 and numerous aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 11:00 AM in the St. James' Episcopal Church, 516 Washington St., (Corner of 6th and Washington), West Dundee, IL 60118, with Rev. James Swarthout, officiating. Burial will follow in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee, IL.

Michael Reed Swords
Michel Reed Swords, age 43, of Elgin, IL, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 31, 2004 at his home. He was born on January 3, 1961 in Fort Wayne, IN, the son of Shannon and Patricia (Didion) Swords.
Michael was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in South Elgin, IL. He was formerly employed by the Elgin Mental Health Hospital in Elgin, IL, as an Aide. Mr. Swords was a very artistic person and enjoyed drawing.
He is survived by his father, Shannon (Judy) Swords of Oswego, IL; his paternal and maternal grandparents; his very dear friend, Barbara Stevens of Bloomington, IL; as well as his many church friends at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Elgin, IL.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Swords on October 7, 1968.
A Graveside Service will be held at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 in the Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, IN.
