Mabel M. Person
Mabel M. Person, 91, of Huntley passed away Monday, January 16, 2006 in Woodstock.
She was born May 11, 1914 on the family farm in rural Marengo, the daughter of John and Emma (Meinke) John. Mabel was a lifelong resident of the Marengo and Huntley area and married Glenn I. Person June 19, 1942 in Hannibal. MO. Following his return from service in WWII, Mabel and Glenn moved to Huntley where she resided until moving to the Florence Nursing Home in Marengo in November of 2000. Mabel was a homemaker and a member of the First Congregational Church of Huntley and the ladies aid organization CELAS.
Surviving are her two daughters, Nancy (Charles) Hufty of Union and Judith Carroll of Rockford; five grandchildren, Jeffrey (Crystal) Schuld in Arizona, Cheryl (Greg) Donarski in Florida, Michael Carroll, Angela Carroll and Lori Carroll all of Rockford; four great grandchildren, Marissa Schuld, Nicole and Jeffrey Donarski and Griffin Carroll; and her brother, Walter (Jean) John of Thorpe, Wisconsin.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn on December 8, 1990; and four sisters, Wilma Rieser, Mary Knief, Lena Nelson and Thelma Bauman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 20, 2006 at the James A. O'Connor Funeral Home, 11603 E. Main St., Huntley with Dr. Walter I. Thyng officiating. Burial will be in the Harmony cemetery in Coral Twp. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, January 19, 2006 at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the Florence Nursing Home of Marengo.

George J. Waterson
George J. Waterson, 83, of St. Charles, formerly of Carpentersville died January 16, 2006 at Brighton Gardens in St. Charles. He was born August 11, 1922 in St. Louis, MO to George F. and Marie (nee Snyder) Waterson. He was a World War II Army veteran with Merrill's Marauders stationed in China, Burma and India Theaters and a former 30 year employee of Bell & Howell in Lincolnwood, IL.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gladys (nee Schwickrath) whom he married December 20, 1942; his children, Robert (Linda) Waterson and Barbara (Richard) Zulpo; eight grandchildren, Peter (Deborah), James (Anne), Joseph (fiancee, Tricia Rippinger) Waterson, Ronald, Michelle and Christopher Bovin, Tatiana and Nicholas Zulpo; six great grandchildren, Nicholas, Kyle, Jacob and Luke Waterson and Blake and Tyler Waterson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Robert J. Waterson.
Funeral Services will be 11 AM Friday, January 20, 2006 in the Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee. Burial will follow in the River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be Thursday, January 19, 2006 from 5 to 9 PM in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. 847-426-3436.

Eleanor M. Boyer
Eleanor M. Boyer, 69, of Carpentersville died Monday, February 17, 2003 at the Kindred Hospital in Sycamore.
She was born on July 19, 1933, the daughter of John and Evelyn (nee Sulzer) Hess.
Eleanor was a 40 year resident of the Carpentersville area. She was a former employee of Wal-mart in East Dundee and Wiebolts Department Store in Carpentersville.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Bobby; three daughters, Bonnie (Darryl) Zimmerman of Phoenix, AZ, Barbara (Steve) Boyer of Garden Prairie, and Beth (Rick) Bush of Genoa City, Wisconsin; a son, John Boyer of Carpentersville; a step son, M. Shawn (Tammy) Boyer of Willisville, IL; grandmother of nine; great grandmother of eight; and a sister Bernadette Gerraro.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial Funeral Services will be on Wednesday at 3 PM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Burial will be private.
The family will be receiving friends from 2:30 PM until time of the memorial service.

Winifred Carswell
Winifred Carswell, 88, of Elgin. passed away on Friday, February 14, 2003 at home. She was born in Elgin on December 13, 1914, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin L. Tetlow. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. A past member of the Catholic Daughters and Mother's Study Club.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Carswell and daughter, Lucie Parmentier and son-in-law, Guillaume Parmentier, and two grandchildren, Daphne and Quentin of Paris, France.
preceded in death by her parents, Lucy and Edwin Tetlow.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. with Fr. Edward Seisser officiating. O'Connor and Homeier Funeral Home (847) 741-1400.

Josephine Rosina Mamsen
Josephine Rosina Mamsen, 94, of Elgin, IL passed away Friday, February 14, 2003 at Heritage Manor in Elgin. She was born July 19, 1908 in Elgin to Peter and Marianna (Hansen) Mamsen. She had lived her entire life in Elgin, moving from her home on Hill Street to Heritage Manor five years ago. Josephine was a long time employee of the Elgin Watch Factory where she worked in the jewel department. She was also a member of the Methodist Church for many years. Her joys were reading, travel and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Marie Mapes, Ingerborg Wise, Anna Peterson and Laura Wendt and a brother, Henry Mamsen.
Services and burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the Heritage Manor Care Center, 355 Raymond St. Elgin, IL 60120. Arrangements are being made with Wait Ross Allanson Elgin Chapel.

Rose P. O'Malley
Rose P. O'Malley, nee Callaghan, of Hoffman Estates (Brighton Gardens) passed away Saturday, February 15, 2003. She was born September 20, 1911 in Chicago, IL.
Dearest daughter of the late Martin and Rose, nee Hand, devoted wife of the late William F. O'Malley, Sr., beloved mother of Patrick (Ann), William Jr., Rose Anne (John) Kotsch, Kevin, and the late Martin; loving grandmother of 13, great-grandmother of eight; fond sister of Catherine (William), Elizabeth (Joseph) Rose, Winifred (James) Cummings, sister-in-law Anne O'Malley, and the late Cormack Callaghan, Margaret (George) Berghauser, Mary, Catherine, Martin, Winifred, and Martin (Dorothy) Callaghan, dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation at the Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy, Park Ridge, Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral Wednesday, 9 a.m. to St. Theckla Church. Mass 10 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven in Hillside. For information call 847-685-1002.

Emma Jane Sachen
Emma Jane Sachen, 80, of Elgin, formerly of Aurora, died Monday, February 17, 2003 in Elgin. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Information will be provided regarding the time and place of service. Arrangements by Fox Valley Cremations. 847-742-3050.

Ralph N. Smith
Ralph N. Smith, 88, of Elgin passed away Monday, February 17, 2003 in Elgin. He was born August 3, 1914 in Hartsville, IL, the son of George and Minnie Langford Smith. He had been a resident of Elgin since 1956. He had farmed in Pope County, IL before coming to Elgin where he worked as a carpenter before retiring. He loved to take care of his garden and his yard. He was a member of Carpenters Local #893 since 1956.
Surviving are his wife, Fern Williams Smith, whom he married on March 2, 1938, three daughters, Lorence Smith of Elgin, Lorene Geske of Yuma, CO and Reta (Bernie) Vogt of Elgin, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Lenora Smith Hufsey, a grandson and two brothers.
Funeral Services will be held Friday at 12 NOON at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Chaplain Stan De Vries officiating. Burial will be in River Valley Memorials Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois or the charity of one's choice.

Judith M. Vatter
Judith M. Vatter, 63, of Beulah, died Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at her home. Judith was born on March 30, 1939 in New Castle, PA, the daughter of David and Veronica (Hanlon) Vago.
Judith graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a BA, majoring in English and minoring in French. She taught in several private schools for several years.
Judith loved to read, paint and take part in many winter sports. She had been a part time resident of Beulah since 1996. She moved to Beulah in 2001 making it her home, coming from Elgin, IL. Since moving to Beulah, Judith was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Frankfort. Judith's family was a very important part of her life, where she was a devoted wife, loving mother and doting grandmother.
On June 23, 1962 at Mary Mother of Hope Catholic Church in New Castle, PA she married Lawrence J. Vatter Jr. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2000.
Judith is survived by her sons: Chris (Pam) of DeKalb, IL, Mike (Melanie) of Burlington, NC, Tom (Shannon) of Appleton, WI, Brian (Gretchen) of Elgin, IL, and Tim of East Lansing and eight grandchildren. Judith is also survived by two brothers: David (Nancy) Vago of Ada, MI and Ed (Carol) Vago of Williamsville, NY.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a very special aunt, Marie Hanlon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 19 at 11 a.m. from St. Ann Catholic Church with Father Ray Cotter, celebrant. Burial will be in the spring in Benzonia Twp. cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Benzonia Chapel, McElduff Funeral Home, where a Scripture Service will follow at 7 p.m. A memorial service will be held in Elgin at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Right To Life, St. Jude's or Paralyzed Veterans.

Donna P. Volant
Donna P. Volant, 67, of Bartlett, IL passed away Saturday, February 15, 2003 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin.
She was born August 31, 1935 in Chicago, IL.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph S.; loving mother of Joe (Gina), Laura (Timothy) Mallers, Deborah (Stephen) Seger and Adam (Teresa); proud grandmother of Matthew, Timothy Jr, James, Michael, Stephen, Jacob, Theodore, Jennifer, Kyle, Dana, Anna and Joseph; cherished sister of LaVerne (Warren) Ketter; and dear sister-in-law of Dolores Prindiville, Helen (George) Shallbetter and Barbara (Richard) Brach.
Funeral Services will be held at 8:45 AM Wednesday, February 19, 2003 from the Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 Grenmeadows Blvd (at Barrington Rd.), Streamwood/Schaumburg to St. John the Evangelist Church for Mass at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel cemetery, Palatine, IL.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 PM Tuesday, February 18, 2003 in the funeral home.

William Charles Crawford
Born April 26, 1944. passed away February 6, 2004. Son of Charles E. and Velma J. Crawford, Bill lived in Carpentersville and West Dundee, before moving to Florida, where he stayed until his death. Bill attended Largo High School and the University of Southern Florida. He served in the US Air Force, and was stationed at Clark Air Base in the Philippines. Bill was well-read and was known for his quick wit, intelligence and humor.
William is survived by his step-father Charles; his aunt Eunice and his brothers, Kevin, Douglas and Gregory.

George W. Danner
George W. Danner, 84, of Waukesha died Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at LindenGrove Health Care Center.
He was born on August 13, 1919, in Elgin, IL, son of George L. and Luella (nee Knott) Danner. George was a graduate of Elgin High School in 1937 and earned an Engineering Degree from Purdue University. George was an Industrial Engineer for the Milwaukee Gas Light Company from 1941 to 1945 and at the same time was a Production Engineer for Kolmar Laboratories, a cosmetic manufacturer in Milwaukee making camouflage makeup for the soldiers during World War II.
In 1949, George and Joseph Zimmerman incorporated Electronic Secretary Industries to manufacture and sell the first automatic telephone answering machine. In 1957, this company became a subsidiary of General Telephone and Electronics, Inc. In 1963, Electronic Secretary Industries, Inc. merged with Automatic Electric with George becoming Vice President of AE and General Manager of the Waukesha branch.
In 1979, George retired from Automatic Electric and in 1980 Geroge, along with his wife Hazel, son Dean and Dean's wife Boni, formed Electronic Tele-Communications, Inc. in Waukesha. George remained Chairman of the Board of ETC until his death.
George served on the Fire and Police Commission of Waukesha, was past president of the Noon Rotary Club and helped form the Sunrise Rotary Club. He served on the Board of Merrill Hills Country Club, was Chairman of the building committee when St. Mary's Church was built. He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.
On August 25, 1939, George married the former Hazel Damisch, who lovingly survives him, along with their children, George M. (Nancy) Danner of Baraboo, Cynthia K. (Ernie) Carlson of Petaluma, CA, David L. (Pamela) Danner of McLean, VA, Dean W. (Boni) Danner of Waukesha and Lynne (David) Erbs of Edgerton. He is further survived by his 24 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Betty (George) Kawa if Elgin, IL; brother, Robert (Nancy) Danner of Escanaba, MI; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Leo.
Friends may call on Monday, February 23 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. in Waukesha. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 PM. Prayers continue at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 24 at 9:15 AM, followed by the procession to St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2400 W. State Hwy. 59, for the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Don Zerkel officiating. Graveside services will follow at St. Joseph cemetery. Memorials in George's name are appreciated to Waukesha Memorial Hospital Foundation, 721 American Ave. WI 53188. For further information, please call the Funeral Home.
