Daniel T. Brink, Sr.
Daniel T. Brink, Sr., 86, of Gilberts, died Friday, February 15, 2002 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. He was born in Topeka, KS on January 23, 1916. He was the son of John T. and Laura (nee Pearson) Brink. He was a 17 year resident of Gilberts. He was a former ten year employee of the Village of Gilberts, and a former 26 year employee of BEST Foods of Chicago. He was a member of the American Association of Cost Engineers.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elinor Welch Brink, whom he married
on March 20, 1937; a son, Philip E. (Rosa Maria) Brink of Des Plaines; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Brink of Indiana, Carl Brink of California and Phil (Connie) Brink of Hawaii; two sisters, Dorothy Armstrong and Elizabeth Hoover, both of Kansas; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Interment will be private.
James Charles Driscoll
A memorial Mass of the Resurrection was held for James Charles Driscoll, 73, of Westfield, WI, at 11:00 AM Friday, February 15, 2002 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, in Westfield. Fr. Rick Heilman and Fr. Daniel Kelly celebrated the Mass.
Born March 11, 1928, in Elgin, the son of Daniel and Alta (nee Springer) Driscoll, he died Sunday, February 10, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Driscoll was an Air Force Veteran. He married
Patricia A. Zadakus on October 24, 1965 in Las Vegas, NV and together they lived in Lombard, where he worked construction, operated a service station and eventually drove a truck for Belfast Auto Parts in Lombard where he retired. They moved to the Township of Harris, Marquette County, WI in 1993. James and Patricia renewed their wedding vows on their 30th anniversary on October 24, 1995, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Westfield, where he was a member. He was a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodges and a member of Packwaukee Lions Club, where he was bestowed as a Melvin Jones Fellow.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Driscoll of Westfield; children, John (Jodie) Driscoll, Patrick Driscoll and Debbie Miller, all of Elgin; three grandchildren; brothers, Clair (Priscilla) Driscoll and Dennis (Elizabeth) Driscoll, both of Seattle, WA. He is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, John Driscoll.

Laura Enghausen
Laura Enghausen, age 92, of Elgin, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2002 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
She was born on January 24, 1910 in Elgin to William and Molly (Kind) Schmidt. Laura lived in Elgin all of her life as a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
Survivors include her brother, Rein (Lorraine) Schmidt of Elgin; her cousin, Eleanor Kosterman of Elgin; and nieces and nephews.
preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer Enghausen whom she married
in in 1938 and who preceded her in 1974; her son, Sonny at age 3 years; and her brother, William Schmidt.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2002 at 11:00a.m. at Wait Ross Allanson, Elgin Chapel. Rev. Thomas O'Connor will officiate. Interment to follow at Bluff City cemetery. Visitation will be at 10:00a.m. on Friday until time of services at 11:00a.m.

Gary Hagberg
Gary Hagberg, age 63, of Elgin, IL, formerly of Chicago, IL died suddenly on Monday, February 18, 2002 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
He was born March 12, 1938 in Chicago to Henry A. and Mildred I. (Cross) Hagberg. For over 40 years Gary had a career in the metal stamping industry and was employed by Performance Stamping in Carpentersville.
Survived by his sons, Corey Scott Hagberg of DeKalb, IL and Timothy Daniel Hagberg of Elgin, IL; daughters, Teri (Karl Majewski) Hagberg of Baltimore, MD and Tina (Keith) Tipton of Ohio; one brother, Alan (Gayle) Gael of California; a sister, Mary (Scott) Roper of Elgin; one grandchild, Alex; five nieces and nephews, Jason, Christopher, Mandy, Jennifer and Sierra; many more friends and relatives and his special friend of nearly 40 years, Edmund Roche of Franklin Park, IL.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 22, 2002 from 3:00 until 8:00p.m. at the Wait Ross Allanson Elgin Chapel. Burial will be private.

Helen B. Herrin
Helen B. Herrin, 83, of Elgin passed away Monday in the Rosewood Care Center, Elgin. She was born September 23, 1918 in Elgin and was the daughter of George and Minnie Fehrman. Helen had been a resident of Elgin for all of her life.
Survivors include a daughter, Vicki Spicer of CA; son in-law, Ed Stewart of AZ; two sisters, Lucille (John) Baum and Carol Rager both of Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Herrin in 1990; a daughter, Sandra Stewart and a sister, Betty Shales.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Herman Christiansen officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City cemetery, Elgin.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lillian Koppen Minehart
Lillian Koppen Minehart, age 96, of Corpus Christi, Texas formerly of Elgin passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2002 at Alameda Oaks Nursing Center, Corpus Christi.
She ws born January 17, 1906 in Huntley, IL the daughter of Herman and Elizabeth Buhrow Koppen. She had been a resident of Elgin for many years before moving to Corpus Christi in 1996. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin.
Surviving are two sons, Walter (Mary Ellen) Minehart, Jr. of Richmond, TX and Darwin (Sally) Minehart of Corpus Christi, TX; five grandchildren;and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter H. Minehart, Sr. in 1986; three brothers, Herman, Frank and John Koppen; and one sister, Clara Weddle.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2002 at 1:00p.m. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Scott Chinburg officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park,Elgin. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00p.m. in the funeral home.

Bernadine Rifken
Bernadine Rifken, 79, of Elgin, passed away Tuesday at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. Born January 14, 1923 in Chicago, the daughter of Albert and Alice Field Winner. Member of Congregation Kneseth Israel Synagogue, Elgin. Past president of Valley Garden League. Life member of Hadassah and life member of B'nai B'rith and Sister Hood.
She is survived by her husband, Attorney Ben Rifken; three daughters, Rita (Melvyn) Libman of CA, Laura (Howard) Waitzman of Deerfield and Linda (Robert) Oestmann of Hanover Park; two sons, Attorney Jeff (Sandra) Rifken of Elgin and Ned Rifken of CA; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a brother, Leonard (Laurie) Winner of Elgin.

Harold Schumann
Harold M. Schumann, 80, of Elgin, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2002 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin.
He was born September 18, 1921 in Elgin and was the son of Charles and Rose (Zinman) Schumann. Harold was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during W. W. II. He worked at Illinois Tool Works for 44 years prior to his retirement. Harold was a member of the Holy Trinity Church in Elgin, member of the VFW Post 1307 in Elgin and a past member of the Elgin Eagles Club.
Survivors include his wife, Velma (Gott) Schumann, whom he married
on July 29, 1950; five children, Pamela Keisler of Evansville, WI, Michael Schumann of Elgin, IL, Scott (Maryann) Schumann of South Elgin, IL, Jeffrey (Cecelia) Schumann of south Elgin, IL, and Timmy (Chris) Schumann of Conifer, CO; eleven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Viloet Goodrich of Rock Island, IL.
preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, David Keisler; brother-in-law, Fred Goodrich.

Albert T. Worden
Albert T. Worden, 79, of Carpentersville died Tuesday, February 19, 2002 at the Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington. He was born on April 30, 1922 in Rensselaer, Indiana, the son of Thomas and Irene Worden.
Al was a 43 year resident of Carpentersville. He was a very active member of St. Monica Church, Carpentersville where he helped with the Youth Ministry and the Prayer Ministry. He was a Mechanical Engineer and a former 20 year employee of Paul D Metal of Chicago. He was a W.W. II Navy Veteran, a life member of VFW #2298 in West Dundee, a member of the Lake In The Hills American Legion, The Lake In The Hills Sportsmans Club and the Lake In The Hills Property Owners Association.
Al is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Jacqueline M. "Jackie" Bergren Worden, whom he married
in San Francisco, CA on October 15, 1943; three loving children, Sharon (Harold) Wright of Wisconsin Dells, WI, Jerry (Rita) Worden of Lake In The Hills and Irene (Robert) Nottoli of Lake In The Hills. Al was a proud and adoring grandfather of five and a great-grandfather of ten. Also surviving are two brothers, George of Brentwood, WI and Walter (Carrie) of Round Lake Beach; a sister, Rita Raleigh of Eau Claire, WI as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Henrietta and Rose.
Funeral services will be on Friday, February 22, 2002 at 9:15 A.M. in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee to St. Monica Church, Carpentersville for mass at 10:00 A.M. Orval M. Graening
Orval M. Graening, 92, of Sleepy Hollow, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2003 in his home. He was born September 2, 1910 in Dundee, the son of Otto and Ida Albrecht Graening and had been a resident of the Dundee area all of his life. Orval rose from office boy to salesman to Vice President and then President of Woodruff and Edwards Foundry in Elgin. Woodruff and Edwards was in business for 120 years and Orval was with the company for 60 years before retiring in 1988.
Orval was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in West Dundee and was the first person baptized at the church and was presently the oldest living male member of the church. He was a former member of the Board of Directors of Home Federal Savings in Elgin for 30 years.
Surviving are his wife, Lois, daughters, Dolly (Robert) Reilly of Marblehead, MA and Vicky (William) Harbeck of Decatur, IL, son Jay (Joyce) Graening of Lincoln, AR, step-children, James (Rose) Stark of Carpentersville, Jeanne (Don) Petry of Hampshire and Sally (Mark) Rajcevich of Batavia, seven grandchildren, Matthew and Melissa Reilly, Andrew, Matthew and Michael Harbeck, Guy (Kathy) and Gary Graening, six step-grandchildren, Rick Stark, Julie (Jim) Kelly, Margo (Axel) Brown, Greg, Hundley and Mark Rejcevich and Linda (Dale) Underwood, two great grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Marie in 1988, two sisters, Ruth Anniballi and Marion Sund.
Funeral Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, West Dundee with Rev. Steven Simon officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home, 120 S. Third St. (Corner of S. Third and Oregon) West Dundee and Friday from 12 NOON until the time of services in the church. Memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois.
