Martha Galvez
Martha Galvez, 75, of Elgin, passed away Friday, February 22, 2002 in the Heritage Manor, Elgin. She was born February 4, 1927 in Puerto Rico, and was the daughter of Jose and Elvira Sinibaldi.
She is survived by three children, Carlos (Julie) and Alex Galvez, both of Elgin and Jorge Galvez of Hawaii; three grandchildren, Carlos, Chad and Ryan Galvez.
preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Edwardo Galvez in 1979.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 25, 2002 starting at 11:45 A.M. with Prayers in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin to St. Joseph Catholic Church for Mass at 12:00 Noon with Rev. David Huber officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-9:00 P.M. in the funeral home, with a Prayer Service recited at 8:00 P.M. Slobodan Ivanovic
Slobodan Ivanovic, 84, of Elgin passed away Thursday, February 21, 2002 at Sherman West Court, Elgin.
He was born August 13, 1917 in Yugoslavia.
He was a member of Most Holy Mother of God Gracanica Monastery, Grayslake. He was a long time resident of Elgin and formerly employed at W.R. Meadows for over 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, Ilse Ann (Hartzer); two sons, Peter (Denise) of Elgin and Nick (Sigrid) of GA; grandchildren, Zackary, Alexander, Nicholas, Anna, Kathrin and Tonja.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Djordje.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, February 26 at 11 AM at Most Holy Mother of God Gracanica Monastery, Grayslake. Burial will be in Most Holy Mother of God cemetery, Grayslake.
Visitation will be Monday form 5 to 9 PM with Prayer Service at 7 PM at Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin.

Thomas F. Milnamow, Sr.
Thomas F. Milnamow, Sr., 69, owner of Pine-Apple Orchard in Maple Park, passed away at his new home in Elburn, surrounded by the love and support of his family. After a courageous battle with cancer, he was released in the early morning hours of Friday, February 22, 2002, he lives now in the arms of his Savior.
He leaves now his loving wife, Dorothy (Feuerborn), eight children whom he lovingly referred to as "Peter, Hazel, Linda": Thomas Jr. of Maple Park and his daughter Madeline, Kathleen (William) Chwee of Elgin, and their children, Allyson, Andrea, Melanie and Megan, Susan Milnamow of Naperville, Karen (Kenneth) Fox of Batavia and their children, Emma, Anna and Laura, Bridget (Ronald) Link of Batavia, and their children, Molly, Abby and Benjamin, Michael (Gina) Milnamow of Warrenville, and their children, Grace, Samuel and Claire, Janet (Paul) Ziegler of Minneapolis, MN, Mary (Jeff) Callen of Downers Grove and their children, Natalie and Daniel; a sister, Therese Diedrich of Salt Lake City, UT; a brother, Joseph (Ruth) Milnamow of Three Rivers, MI; a loving extended family; and a community of friends.
Friends may call from 1 to 7 PM at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn on Sunday, February 24, 2002 with a wake service to be held at 6 PM.
A Mass to celebrate his life will be held at the Church of St. Mary, Maple Park on Monday, February 25, at 10:30 AM. Monsignor William Clausen will officiate and interment will follow at St. Mary's cemetery.

George Politick
George Politick, 84, of Elgin, formerly of Franklin Park, IL. passed away Thursday, February 21, 2002 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin. He was born June 1, 1917 in the Netherlands, and was the son of Theresa Politick. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and served in W.W. II C.B.I. George was a Police Officer in Franklin Park prior to his retirement.
Life member of the VFW of River Grove, IL. Master Mason and former member of the Police Unit at Medinah Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor of Elgin; four children, Wayne Politick of Wonder Lake, IL, Gerald (Beverly) Politick of Crystal Lake, IL, Linda (Bud) Biggs of Ripley, TN and Lois (Bruce) Wick of Northlake, IL; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Sadie Minnema of Wau Wa Tosa, WI; also two nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 25, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. in the Laird Funeral Home, 120 South Third St., (corner of S. Third and Oregon), West Dundee, IL. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-7:00 P.M. in the funeral home. For information, (847)836-8770.

Walter J. Ansted, Jr.
Walter J. Ansted, Jr., age 72, of South Elgin, IL died Sunday, February 23, 2003 at his home in South Elgin, IL. He was born April 16, 1930 in Chicago to Walter A. and Marie (Kwilosz) Ansted, Sr.
Walter was a lifetime PGA member. He worked at various golf courses throughout his career which spanned from 1957 to the present. He was given a lifetime membership to the PGA for his dedication to the game of golf. Teaching golf was one of the greatest joys of his life. Walter was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jaqueline (Riley) Ansted, whom he married on February 19, 1955, two sons, Walter J. Ansted, III of Westchester and Daniel J. (Jacqueline) Ansted of Westchester, his daughters, Mary (Michael) Loechner of S. Elgin and Eileen (Colin) Fleury of Hampshire, his grandchildren, Jeff, Caroline, Ellen, Olivia Mason, Logan Cameron and Aiden and many nieces and nephews.
preceded in death by his parents and his brother Eugene.
Funeral will take place Wednesday, February 26 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Miroslaw A. Reikowski officiating. Interment will be private. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 25, between 4-8 p.m. at the Wait Ross Allanson Elgin Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the Illinois PGA Junior Golf Program.

Kelly L. Brockner
Kelly L. Brockner, 32, of Elgin passed away Saturday, February 22, 2003 in Elgin from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born July 17, 1970 in Elgin the daughter of Phillip "Pat" and Judith Sphatt Brockner. She had been a resident of South Elgin and Elgin all of her life. She was a graduate of Larkin High School in 1988 and Northern Illinois University in 1999. She had been employed by Menards in Elgin for eight years and was currently employed by First Community Bank in Elgin. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin. She loved to snowmobile and to garden.
Surviving are her mother and stepfather, Judy and Ed Fitchie of South Elgin, father, Pat Brockner of Elgin, fiance, Anton Kossakowski of Elgin, brothers Andrew Brockner of Colorado and Nathan (Jeannette) Fitchie of Elgin, sister Bethany Fitchie (Joel Aromi) of South Elgin, three uncles, Stanley (Shirley) Sphatt of Elgin, Tom (Janice) Brockner of Elgin and James "Wally" (Beth) Wallmuth of York, PA, many cousins, close friend Becky Jurs and the Kossakowski family.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Roscoe and Josephine Brockner and Edward and Florence Sphatt, aunts Mary Wallmuth, Collete Mahle, Beverly Geldmacher and Peggy Sphatt, uncle Don Geldmacher and cousin Steve Sphatt.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 27, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Elgin with Rev. Olin Sletto officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Jim Thorpe Association or Ray Graham Association for Developed Mentally Disabled.

Alfred W. Collier
Alfred W. Collier, 73, of Elgin, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 19, 2003. He was surrounded by family in the comfort of his home.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Joy; four children, John (Si) Collier, William (Sandy) Collier, Patricia (Terry) Schultz, Susan (Barton) Panther; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kathryn and Worley Collier; and his brother, Paul.
Mass Of The Resurrection will be held Tuesday, February 25 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 215 Thomas More Drive, Elgin at 11:00 am. Visitation will precede Mass at 10:30 am.

Lucienne M. O'Hara
nee Lauchaud
Lucienne M. O'Hara (nee Lauchaud), age 72, a 33 year resident of Streamwood, IL passed away Saturday, February 22, 2003 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. She was born July 23, 1930 in Paris, France. She was a member of the Moose Lodge of Streamwood.
She was the beloved wife of the late James, loving mother of William, Robert (Pam), Daniel (Sarah), and Lucienne (Marty) Krizka and the proud grandmother of Angel, Jason, Kelly, Jessica, Cassie, Krystal, Lorissa, Marty Jr. and Jennifer. Great grandmother of Ryne. Cherished stepdaughter of Janet Becker and dear sister of Francoise Rogeon.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 25, 2003 from 2:30-8 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home & Crematory, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd) Streamwood/Schaumburg. Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.

Julia E. Bero
Julia E. Bero, 76, of Carpentersville, formerly of Elgin, died Monday, February 23, 2004 at the Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. She was born on August 16, 1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Leonard and Thelma Clarke. Julia was a 12 year resident of the area and a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church of Elgin. She worked as a graphic artist and was employed for many years by the American Medical Association and the Journal of the American Medical Association.
She is survived by three sons, James (Barbara) of Twin Lakes, WI, Robert (Patty) of Algonquin and Richard (Nancy) of Carpentersville; grandmother of six; a great grandchild. Julia was looking forward to the birth of another great grandchild in March.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis J. Bero on March 11, 2001. They married on April 20, 1946; and a son, Ronald in 1996.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 10 AM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee with Rev. Geoffrey D. Wirth officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 9 PM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee.

Joan Huske
Joan Huske, 70, of Pingree Grove, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2004 at Alderwoods Healthcare Center in South Elgin.
She was born August 31, 1933 in Chicago to Walter and Amelia (Krumpitz) Zirk. Joan married Raymond Huske Jr. on July 12, 1951 in Bartlett and they were residents of Pingree Grove for over 40 years.
She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Pingree Grove and had formerly been employed at Zayre's Department Store in Elgin.
Surviving are daughters, Nancy Huske of Pingree Grove, Kathy (Dean) Showalter of Geneva; sons, Gregory (Sharlene) Huske of Elgin and Jeff (Carol) Huske of St. Charles; eight grandsons, Sam (Sheila) Finley, Scott (Carrie) Finley, Shawn (Carrie) Finley, Michael, Christopher, and Robert Showalter, Joshua and Jimmy Huske; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ray, on April 28, 1999.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, February 26, at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire, with the Rev. Loren Krout officiating. Burial will be in the Washington-McQueen cemetery in rural Elgin.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be directed to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 14N205 Reinking Rd., Hampshire, IL 60140 or to Alderwoods Healthcare Activities, 746 Spring St., South Elgin, IL 60177.

Evelyn G. Misner
Evelyn G. Misner, 91, of Elgin, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2004, at Sherman West Court, Elgin. She was born May 8, 1912, in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Mathew and Grace Rothenbuecker Kline.
She was employed by Lee Wards in Elgin for 22 years as an accounting supervisor before retiring. She had been a resident of Elgin since 1946. She was a former member of First Baptist Church of Elgin.
Surviving are two daughters, Marilyn Taylor of Elgin and Jacqueline (Joseph) Falese of Elgin; one son, William K. (Iris "Judy") Misner of Benton, KY; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William E. Misner on Nov. 21, 1975; three sisters, Marion Jensen, Joyce Goedert and Jean in infancy and one brother, William Kline.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 25 at 11:00 A.M. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday from 10 A.M. until the time of services in the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Elgin Fire Department Paramedic Fund or the Anderson Animal Shelter.
