Ronald H. Doty
Ronald H. Doty, 83, ,of Elgin, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. He was born August 28, 1921 in Hampshire, the son of Raymond and Irene (Getzelman) Doty.
Ronald was a 1939 graduate of Hampshire High School. He married
Irene (Kopplin) Madeen on December 8, 1956 in North Plato. They were residents of Elgin for over 40 years.
Mr. Doty was employed by the Ludwig Dairy in Elgin for 34 years, retiring in 1983. He was a longtime member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church of North Plato, serving as church custodian for over ten years, after his retirement. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Senior Bowling League in Elgin.
Survivors are his stepson, Harold L. "Bud" (Anne) Madeen of Parachute, CO; three brothers, William (Caroline) Doty of Genoa, Dean (Marie) Doty of Evansville, WI, and Dale (Evelyn) Doty of Footville, WI; a sister, Rita Bowen of Fort Smith, AR; four step-children, Jeff (Sofia) Madeen, Greg (Carol) Madeen, Eric (Julie) Madeen, Gwyn Madeen; four step-great-grandchildren, Scott Madeen, Zoe Madeen, Rose Simmons, and Hunter "Ron" Madeen; two sisters-in-law, Tea Doty of Huntley and Bernice Jones of Sycamore.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irene on April 1, 2002; brothers, Harold, Everett and Ralph "Rusty" Doty; and a sister, Juanita Doty.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 43W301 Plank Rd., North Plato. Burial will be in the Hampshire Center cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Tuesday at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire, and prior to services on Wednesday, from 10 to 11 AM at the church.
Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund.
Georgean M. Hansen
Georgean M. Hansen, 89, of Carpentersville, died Friday, March 11, 2005 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. She was born in Wisconsin on May 28, 1915. She was the daughter of Fred and Mary Mueller.
Georgean was a resident of the Carpentersville area for over 20 years. She was a former many year resident of Chicago.
Georgean worked for Sears & Roebuck Company as a payroll clerk for over 20 years, prior to her retirement. She was a member of the St. Monica Church of Carpentersville.
She is survived by her daughters-in-law, Diane L. Hansen of Carpentersville and Rosemary Hansen of Park Ridge; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur; her two sons, Donald and George; a brother and a sister.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday at 9:15 AM in the Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St. in West Dundee to St. Monica Church, Carpentersville for Mass at 10 AM. The Rev. Uriel Lopez, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph cemetery, River Grove. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5-8 PM in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee.
Evelyn L. Schaefer
Evelyn L. Schaefer, 93, of Elgin.
Beloved wife of the late Frank T; loving mother of Frank G. (Noeleen) of California, the late Robert (Sylvia) and the late Tommy; proud grandmother of Laura (Rich) Wood, Lisa (Greg) Poissant, LeAnn (Brian) Hushaw, Susan (J.P.) Bernardo and Holly (Nick) Siebers; great-grandmother of 15; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Guadalupe Severson
Guadalupe Severson, 62, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2005 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Rockford, IL. "Lupe" was born in Uvalde, TX on March 1, 1943 to the late Paula S. Ruiz and Estanislao M. Rodriguez. She graduated from Southwest Junior College, with an Associate Arts Degree in 1965. Lupe had worked with Lifetouch in Loves Park, IL.
She is survived by two children, Steven Jr. and Daniel Severson; her granddaughter, Gabrielle Severson; her sister, Lucinda and Manuel Ruiz Lucinda; nephew, Michael VanFleet; and nieces, Shelly VanFleet and Jenifer Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Dennis Severson to whom she married
in November 1966, and passed away on November 1997.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 1:30 PM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, with Rev. Joseph F. Kulak, officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 12:00 Noon, until the time of services in the funeral home.
Larry A. Smith
Larry A. Smith, 53, of Genoa died suddenly Monday, March 14, 2005 at Kishwaukee Community Hospital.
He was born July 17, 1951 in Chicago the son of Lee A. and Jean C. (Carlquist) Smith. He married
Patricia A. James on September 13, 1997 in Genoa.
Larry worked for the Complete Vending Service in St. Charles for 13 years. He was an avid gardener, winning several Blue Ribbons for their beauty. He loved his family and his home, taking much pride in both. He enjoyed the Nascar circuit, woodworking and going to the Sandwich Fair.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Genoa; five children, Christopher Lee (Kristine) Smith of Island Lake, Norma (Lisa Kellick) Smith of Elgin, Kara Leigh Smith of Burlington, Keith (Sherry) Thompson of Iowa and Melissa (Bryan) Schwichtenberg of Genoa; four grandchildren, Krystal, Michael, Hannah and Connor; his parents, Lee and Jean Smith of Sublette; two godchildren, Hailey and Nathan Shane; one sister, Karen (Jim) Roberts of Pontiac; one brother, Jeff (Jan) Smith of Chicago Heights; and two dear friends, Keith "Hun" and Debbie Sisk of Kingston.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 18 at 1:00 p.m. at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home of Genoa, with Rev. James Freund officiating. Burial will be private.

William F. Ackles "Bill"
William F. Ackles, 61, of East Dundee, died Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. He was born October 21, 1943 in Noblesville, IN, to the late William J. and Cecile (nee Green) Ackles.
He was last employed at Garvin-Fram, Inc. in Schaumburg.
He is survived by his wife, Christine (Nee Voigts), whom he married
on May 12, 1978; four children, Garrett (Mindy) Ackles of Louisville, KY, Deb (Bob Lackey) Ackles of Chicago, Casey Ackles, with the U.S. Air Force in Anchorage, AK, and Amanda Ackles of East Dundee; one brother, Ronald (Kim) Ackles of Anerson, IN; one sister, Phyllis Gibbs of Carmel, IN; six grandchildren, Ben, Mallory, Kendall, Parker, Lily and Taryn Ackles of Louisville, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Elaine.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 18, 2005 from 4-8 PM in the Miller Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be private.

Darrell Howard Jensen
Darrell Howard Jensen, 73, died Saturday March 12, 2005 in Houston, TX.
He was born November 26, 1931, in the town of Leon, WI., to Earl and Lillian Jensen. He was raised in Leon and he became a dairy farmer and a skilled carpenter contractor.
He served his country in the US Air Force and later became a member of the Ogema American Legion in Ogema, WI. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
He was able to retire the first time at age 53 and then became a school bus driver, strengthening his love of his own grandchildren. He was a town of Elk board member.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Gladys; three daughters, Kathleen (Joseph) Teson of Algonquin, Donna (Brian) Jensen of Pewaukee, WI., and Tutti (Tom) Wiatr of Menomonie, WI; five sons, Mark (Robin) Jensen of Kingwood, TX., Paul Jensen of Colorado Springs, CO., Jerry Jensen of Algonquin, Dan (Connie) Jensen of Algonquin and Don (Jamie) Jensen of Cave Creek, AZ; two brothers, Raymond (Mary Lou) Jensen of Fort Collins, CO., and Dennis (Gale) Jensen of Ogema; 24 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 17, 2005 at Heindl Funeral Home, 761 South St., Prentice, WI. The Funeral will be at 11:00 AM Friday, March 18, 2005 at First Lutheran Church of Ogema. The Rev. Richard Wohler, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Garden of Memories cemetery in Ogema.

Carl A. Peterson
Carl A. Peterson, 94, of Elgin, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2005 in the Heritage Manor, Elgin. He was born on September 17, 1919 in Algonquin, IL, and was the son of Carl and Augusta Peterson.
Carl was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He had worked as a Contractor in the Elgin area, and then was employed with the City of Elgin 15 years, prior to his retirement.
Survivors include his son, Carl (Carol) Peterson of Elgin; two grandsons, Carl (Michelle) Peterson of Genoa, IL, and Charles (Melinda) Peterson of Rockford, IL; two great-granddaughters, Grace and Emma Peterson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lorraine (Brammer), in 1973; and two sisters, and one brother.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2005 at 10 AM in the Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services, Elgin Chapel, 51 Center St. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 PM in the chapel.

Guadalupe Severson
Guadalupe Severson, 62, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2005 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Rockford, IL. "Lupe" was born in Uvalde, TX on March 1, 1943 to the late Paula S. Ruiz and Estanislao M. Bernice Meta Ward
Bernice Meta Ward, age 87, of Springfield, MO, formerly of Elgin, passed away on March 6, 2005 in Springfield, MO. She was born on September 22, 1917 in Elgin, the daughter of George and Meta Brandes Dunning. She married
Maurice Ward in 1965.
She is survived by one son, Paul Heckmann of WA; four nephews, Wayne Dunning of MO, David Dunning of MI, Bruce Dunning of MO and Glen Dunning of TX; and two grandchildren, Danny and Cheryl Heckmann.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Heckmann; her sencond husband, Maurice; and one brother, Ralph Dunning.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin. Rev. Olin Sletto will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Lakewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 1500 S. Lois E. Freise
Lois E. Freise, 75, of Kingston, died Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at OSF- St. Anthony's Medical Center in Rockford.
She was born March 31, 1929 in Palatine, the daughter of Herman and Selma (Garms) Glade. She married
Howard J. Freise on October 2, 1948 in Palatine.
Lois was a graduate of the Palatine High School, Class of 1947. She helped her husband on the family farm in Schaumburg and the vegetable stand. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and golfing. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Genoa and very active in the Ladies Aide at the Church. She was also very involved in the DeKalb Co. Home Extension.
She is survived by two sons, Wayne (Christine) Freise and David (Donna) Freise; two daughters, Sharon (Jim) Sabin and Sandra (Jerry) Tewksbury, all of Genoa; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer (Jens) Hauch, Julia (Rick) Buchli, Kevin (Hilary) Freise, Kyle, Elizabeth and Gretchen Freise, Jamie and Tanner Sabin, Joline and John Tewksbury; two great-grandchildren, Henry and Nola Hauch; two brothers, Richard (Betzy) Glade and Wilbert (Rosalie) Glade; one sister, Laura Freise; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband in 2004.
Her Funeral Service will be on Thursday, March 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Genoa, with Rev. E. Timothy Frick officiating. Burial will be at the North Kingston cemetery.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Church.
