Theron Arlus Homuth
Theron Arlus Homuth, 82, born October 13, 1922, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, March 12, 2005. He was born in Barrington and spent most of his life in the Dundee area. "Homer" as he was known to many, was a master tile man, a friend to many, and a father to his children. His smile will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lulu Homuth; a brother, Wellons Homuth; and a grandson, Todd Batt.
Survived by his former wife, Joann Ritt of Winter Haven, FL; his daughters, Susan Eckdahl of Algonquin and Barbara (Fred) Batt of Winter Haven, FL; and his son, Tracy (Tommi) Homuth of Plano, TX; three grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.
A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a future date.
Evelyn Lorisz
Evelyn Lorisz, age 76, of Carpentersville, died March 16, 2005.
Survived by sons, David and Steve; daughter, Mary (John) Link; grandmother of John Jr. and Joseph; sister, Pearl Owczarek.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph A. and two sisters.

Carl A. Peterson
Carl A. Peterson, 94, of Elgin, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2005 in the Heritage Manor, Elgin. He was born on September 17, 1919 in Algonquin, IL, and was the son of Carl and Augusta Peterson.
Carl was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He had worked as a Contractor in the Elgin area, and then was employed with the City of Elgin 15 years, prior to his retirement.
Survivors include his son, Carl (Carol) Peterson of Elgin; two grandsons, Carl (Michelle) Peterson of Genoa, IL, and Charles (Melinda) Peterson of Rockford, IL; two great-granddaughters, Grace and Emma Peterson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lorraine (Brammer), in 1973; and two sisters, and one brother.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2005 at 10 AM in the Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services, Elgin Chapel, 51 Center St. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 PM in the chapel.

Neta Slotowski
Neta Slotowski, 87, of Huntley, Illinois, formerly of Algonquin, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends after a month long illness.
Neta was born February 3, 1918 in a sod house in western Kansas. In 1942, she married
Alex Slotowski. She worked as a secretary in District 300 at Eastview School and at the Instructional Materials Center for many years.
In 1985, she was aboard TWA flight 847, which was hijacked in the Middle East. She survived this ordeal, yet didn't give up her love of travel. She continued her travels, including visiting grandchildren in Switzerland, her daughter in California, and further globe-trotting. She was an avid journaler, and wrote many prayers and loving words. One of the most hurtful results of the hijacking was her losing a number of her precious journals.
Neta was active in her church, including being an Associate in the Sinsanawa Dominican Order, as well as an Apostolic volunteer. As a member of the St. Mary's (Huntley) Altar and Rosary Society, Neta served as Treasurer for several years, and was active in the Cursillo movement. Neta was one of the "founding residents" of Green Trees in Huntley.
Surviving are two daughters, Harriet (Dr. James) Davis of Murrieta, CA, and Constance (John) Ryan of Union, IL, two step-daughters, Marie (Fred) Cwienkala of Park Ridge, IL, and Florence (Michael) Bargo of Chicago, IL, a step-son, Gust (Anna) Kozarzewski of Palatine, IL, 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, and many close and loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Edna (Jones) Thompson, her husband Alex Slotowski, whom she married
in 1942, and who died November 8, 1978, one brother Armin Thompson and a granddaughter, Judith Kozarzewski.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 P.M. Friday, March 18 at Wait-Ross-Allanson Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel, 201 S. Main St., Algonquin and on Saturday from 9 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10 A.M. in St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Huntley Rd., Huntley, IL. Revb. Steven Knox will officiate.

Dorothy L. Storment
Dorothy L. Storment, 62, of Elgin, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. She was born July 26, 1942 in Wayne City, IL, the daughter of Arvil and Doris Payne Shaw. She had been a resident of Elgin since 1968. She was employed by Elgin Molded Plastics in Elgin, before retiring.
She loved to read and make Christian posters. She attended the United Pentacostal Church.
Surviving are two children, Michael G. Storment of Elgin and Lisa G. Storment of Wheaton; one grandson, Jabin Storment; one brother, Larry (Sharon) Shaw of Wayne City, IL; and a niece and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald in 1996; and a half-brother, Robert Dove.
Funeral Services will be private, with burial in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Laird Funeral Home, Elgin is in charge of arrangements.
Robert C. Jakes
Robert C. Jakes, 75, of Elgin passed away Sunday, March 16, 2003 in his home. He was born April 12, 1927 in Elgin, the son of Clinton and Ethel Schneider Jakes. He had been a resident of Elgin for all of his life and was a graduate of Elgin High School Class of 1945. He was the owner of C.E. Jakes Painting and Decorating in Elgin before retiring in 1992. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church of Elgin, American Legion Post 57 of Elgin, the Lions Club of Elgin, past president of the Illinois Council PDCA, a member of the Northern Illinois Painting and Drywall Institute and a member of Elks Lodge 737 of Elgin.
Surviving are two daughters, Kim (Terrence) Kelly of Palatine and Jill (Jeffrey) Primm of St. Charles, MO, four grandchildren, Daniel and Katie Kelly and Ethan and Samuel Primm, one sister, Mary Lou Rosenquist of Elgin and one brother, Ronald (Stacey) Jakes of Naperville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joan Osborne Jakes on April 4, 1999 and a nephew, William Rosenquist.
Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at 10 a.m. at St. Laurence Catholic Church, Elgin with Rev. Joseph F. Kulak officiating. Burial will be in Udina cemetery, Udina. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass in the church. Arnold "Chris" Klotsch III
Arnold "Chris" Klotsch III, born September 9, 1957, died March 1, 2003. He was 45 years old, of Baywind Court, Hillsborough County, Tampa, FL. Chris had lived in Elgin most of his life. The last ten years were spent in Wisconsin and most recently in Tampa, FL. He worked as a foreman for F&F; Frame & Trim in Palm Harbor. Chris enjoyed playing the harmonica and hunting and fishing. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson.
He is survived by his wife Denise (Dee) Klotsch, three daughters and a son, Amy Klotsch (22), Rhinelander, WI, Amanda Klotsch (19) of Tampa, Lindsey Klotsch (17) of Tampa, FL and Chris (11) of Tampa, a granddaughter, Katlyn, his father Arnold Klotsch Jr. of Elgin, sisters Terri Runge of Richmond, IL, Karen Novack of Elgin, Penni Klotsch of Chicago, Tina and Jim Cothran of Elgin, Tammy Neylon of Elgin, and a brother, Brian and Patti Klotsch of Woodstock.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances M. Klotsch.

Richard (Dick) Petterson
Richard (Dick) Petterson, 75, passed away March 6, 2003 in Las Vegas, NV where he had lived for the past 12 years. He was a long time resident of the Elgin area.
He was born June 19, 1927 in Chicago, the son of Lester and KatherinePetterson.
He was active in the Elgin Sportsduring the 1960's and 1970's. He was president of the Elgin National Little League, president of the E-Boosters and coached Pee Wee Football and Teener League Baseball.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gerry; two daughters, Gale (Lloyd) Allen of Henderson, NV, Wendy (Ralph) Trocchio of Las Vegas; two sons, John (Luann) Petterson of Gilberts, Mark (Nancy) Petterson of Crystal Lake; 12 grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
A private family gathering was held in remembrance in Las Vegas, followed by, each family member releasing a white balloon at sunset.
Edward H. Worthington
Edward H. Worthington, 75, of Carpentersville died Saturday, March 15, 2003 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
He was born in Bolton, North Carolina on July 7, 1927, the son of Otha and Mamie (nee Summerset) Worthington.
He was a World War II United States Navy veteran and a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Carpentersville.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth (nee Moyer) Worthington; two daughters, Sharon (Gerald) Weeks of Delano, Minnesota and Sandy Worthington of Spring Grove; a son, Todd (Kim) Worthington of Arlington Heights; a grandson, Nicholas Weeks of Delano, Minnesota; a sister, Virginia (Douglas) Bryant of North Carolina; and a brother, Eugene (Anne) Worthington of Whiteville, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; and three brothers.
Memorial Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at 11 AM in the Trinity United Methodist Church, 1647 Ravine Road in Carpentersville with the Rev. Robert Baker officiating. Burial will be private.

Jeanette Balsamo Gatto, age 97, died March 17, 2005 in Westmont; 18 year resident of Downers Grove, formerly of Chicago.
Beloved wife of the late Sam Balsamo and the late Vincent Gatto; loving mother of A. Robert (Marilyn) Balsamo, Phillip (Jean) Balsamo, Carl V. (Donna) Gatto; dear daughter of the late Phillip and Maria Indovina; cherished grandmother of 16; great-grandmother of 15; and great-great-grandmother of one; fond sister of Josephine Indovina; and many nieces and nephews.
