Johnny Brown
Visitation for Johnny Mack Brown, 52, a 31-year resident of Kankakee, will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. services, at Christ Temple Apostolic Church in Bradley. District Elder Tubbie Gordon Sr. will officiate.
Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens.
Arrangements are by Lax Mortuary, Kankakee.
Mr. Brown died Tuesday (Nov. 23, 1999) at his home.
He was born Oct. 29, 1947 in Bonita, La., the son of Alfred Brown and Sammie May Adrow.
A veteran, he entered the Army in 1967, achieving the rank of sergeant while serving in the Vietnam War.
He received his GED while in the military and took several college classes.
He married
Rosemary Turner on March 8, 1969.
He had been employed by Mondy Brothers Asphalt, Birmingham Steel, Thomas Steel and the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Surviving are four daughters and three sons-in-law, Yevette Brown-Jackson and Gary Davis of Monticello, Ark., Celestine and Ronald Patten of Milwaukee, Wis., Rochelle and Elder George Watson of Kankakee and Cecilia James of St. Paul, Minn.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bennie and Lovel Brown and Carl Lee and Faye Brown, all of Dumas, Ark.; five sisters and a brother-in-law, Patricia and Ray Hughes of Dumas, Bonnie Martin of Chicago, Ozell Brown of San Antonio, Texas, Lennie Brown of Kansas City, Kan. and Peggie Brown of Dumas; four aunts; three uncles; seven grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A son, Cornelius; a brother Orthenell; and two sisters, Lotty and Gloria Brown, are deceased.
He enjoyed dogs, blues music, traveling, baseball and track.
Darlene Wessels
WATSEKA - Visitation for Darlene Ann Wessels, 67, of Watseka, will be from 4-7 p.m. today at the Baier Funeral Home, Watseka.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Lutheran Church, Watseka, where she was a member. The Rev. Dean Bottjen will officiate.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials may be made to her church; to Prairieview Lutheran Home, Danforth; or to the donor's choice.
Mrs. Wessels died Tuesday (Nov. 23, 1999) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
She was born Oct. 2, 1932 in Somonauk, the daughter of William and Amanda Dolder Dienst, who are deceased.
Surviving are her husband, Russell Wessels of Watseka, whom she married
March 3, 1957 in Somonauk; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Wendy Schaffer Wessels of Normal and Dean and Becky Wessels of Bloomington; one daughter and son- in-law, Debra and Rick Bindler of Naperville; one sister and brother-in- law, Jeannene and Tom Coziahr of Yorkville; three brothers and four sisters-in-law, Margaret Dienst of Sun City, Calif., Dale and Gertrude Dienst of Somonauk, Carl and Charlotte Dienst of Williford, Ark. and Wilbur and Lois Dienst of Bradford; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A brother, Fredell Dienst is deceased.
She had been employed by the Iroquois Memorial Hospital in the Dietary Dept.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 23 Auxiliary and the Ladies Guild and LWML of her church.
She enjoyed crafts, traveling, cooking and shuffleboard.

Albert Triveline, 72, of Bourbonnais and formerly of Chicago, died Thursday (Nov. 25, 1999) at Riverside Medical Center.

Delores Ninis
Delores A. Ninis, 73, of Kankakee, died Thursday (Nov. 25, 1999) at her home.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. Saturday until the 2:30 p.m. memorial services at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. The Rev. Joseph Tremonti will officiate.
Inurnment will be in Mount Calvary cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
She was born Oct. 12, 1926 in Gridley, the daughter of Gideon and Tillie Wenger Rinkenberger, who are deceased.
Her husband, Bruno Ninis, whom she married
in Feb. 1950, in Crown Point, Ind., died Jan. 19, 1999.
Mrs. Ninis was a rug weaver at her home for 25 years and she had worked at the Joliet Arsenal.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Kupferer of Momence; one sister, Marcella Rinkenberger of Kankakee; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Carnell Rinkenberger of Caddo, Texas; and two grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were one daughter Cheryl Ninis; one brother, Gene Rinkenberger; and one sister, Kathleen Jordan.
She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Kankakee.
Laura Duis
DANFORTH - Visitation for Laura E. Duis, 88, of Danforth, formerly of Woodland, will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. services at St. John's Lutheran Church, Danforth, where she was a member. The Rev. James Gerth will officiate.
Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran cemetery in Schwer.
Arrangements were by Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka.

Ms. Duis was a school teacher in Stockland, Woodworth, Woodland and Watseka for 42 years.
She taught Sunday school in Schwer for 30 years and sang in the church choir for 25 years.
She was a member of the Milford Woman's Club; AARP; Iroquois County Teachers Association; and the Rebekah Circle.
She was born March 21, 1911 in Woodland, the daughter of George and Louise Benner.
Surviving are one niece, Louise Cary of Northport, Ala.; nephews, William Duis of Virginia Beach, Va. and Fred Duis of Bedford, Va.; seven great-nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends.
One brother, William Duis is deceased.
She enjoyed gardening.
Agustina Pena
Agustina Pena, one and one-half years of age, of Kankakee, died Thursday (Nov. 25, 1999) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee.
He was born May 31, 1998, in Kankakee, the son of Marielena Pena of Kankakee and Arturo Camargo.

MANTENO - Leon Pesavento, 70, of Manteno, died Thursday (Nov. 25, 1999).
Visitation is scheduled for 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Manteno. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Church in Manteno.

Jason Homan
Jason P. Homan, 32, of Kankakee, died Tuesday (Nov. 23, 1999) at his home.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Kankakee, until the funeral Mass to be celebrated by the Rev. Richard Pighini at noon, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, where he was a member.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary cemetery, Kankakee.
Memorials may be made to Bishop McNamara High School.
He was born Aug. 24, 1967 in Kankakee, the son of James C. and Janice LeClaire Homan, who reside in Kankakee.
Mr. Homan was a former employee of Quaker Oats.
He was a 1985 graduate of Bishop McNamara High School and attended Robert Morris College.
Also surviving are his maternal grandfather, Leo LeClaire of Kankakee; paternal great-grandmother, Mildred Mohler of Kankakee; and one sister and one brother, Jennifer and Jeremy Homan, both of Kankakee.
His maternal grandmother, Margaret LeClaire and paternal grandparents, Clyde and Mary Ellen Homan are deceased.
Wesley Powers
ALMOND, Wis. - Wesley D. Powers, 44, of Almond, Wis., and former area resident, died from cancer Tuesday (Nov. 23, 1999) at his home.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Hardell-Holly Funeral Home in Almond, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Chaplain Terry Epling will officiate.
Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Almond.
He was born Sept. 21, 1955.
Surviving are his wife, the former Janet Webb, whom he married
June 15, 1972, in Bloomington; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennipher and Todd Pagel of Waupaca, Wis., and Kari and Roy Scott of Almond; two sons, Wesley Powers of Waupaca and Caleb Powers of Almond; his mother and stepfather, Lula and LeRoy Decker of Gilman; mother-in-law, Dodie Webb of Bryan, Texas; three granddaughters; special friends, Roger Hubner of Gilman, and Ed Horgan of Stevens Point, Wis.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mr. Powers had worked at Sentryworld in Stevens Point and Foxfire Golf Course in Waupaca. In 1998, he opened Lanark Links in Almond, a course that with the help of his family he planned and constructed himself.
He was raised in Onarga.
