MAZON - Augusta J. Buss, 94, of Mazon, formerly of Wilmington, died Thursday (Feb. 1, 2001) at the Walnut Grove Retirement Community in Morris.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Monday until the 2 p.m. services at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Braidwood Chapel.
Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.
She was born Nov. 27, 1906, in Watseka, the daughter of Rinehard and Kate Beckman Siems.
Her husband, John Buss, is deceased.
Surviving are one daughter, Darlene McLuckie of Mazon; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; son-in-law, Donald Doctor of Ash Flat, Ark.; sister-in-law, Ann Calligaris of Dwight; and nieces and nephews.
One daughter, Betty Doctor; one son, Donald Buss; one grandson, Mark McLuckie; and one son-in-law, Tom McLuckie are deceased.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wilmington and the church's Ladies Aid.
Gisela Dransfeldt
MAZON - Gisela W. Dransfeldt, 71, of Mazon, died Tuesday (Jan. 23, 2001) at the Embassy Care Center in Wilmington.
Cremation rites were accorded.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6 at Abraham Lincoln National cemetery, Elwood.
R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Braidwood is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Dec. 16, 1929, in Karlrue, West Germany, the daughter of Richard and Anna Braun Stark.
Surviving are her husband, Richard L. Dransfeldt, whom she married
Dec. 21, 1960, in Landstuhl, West Germany; and five sisters, Laura, Margaret, Bridget, Ursula and Anita.
Mrs. Dransfeldt was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge 967 in Morris.
Anna Hegstrom
HERSCHER - Visitation for Anna J. Hegstrom, 71, of Herscher, will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Herscher Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes and from 10:30 a.m. Saturday until the 11:30 a.m. services at Trinity Lutheran Church, Herscher. Rev. Gary Ruckman will officiate.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley, the American Cancer Society or to Trinity Lutheran Church, Herscher, where she was a member.
Mrs. Hegstrom died Wednesday (Jan. 31, 2001) at her home.
She was born Aug. 17, 1929, in Maywood, the daughter of Clifford and Lilly Scrugges Littlejohn. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are her husband, Robert Hegstrom, whom she married
Sept. 3, 1949, in St. Charles, of Herscher; two sons and one daughter-in-law, John and Theresa Hegstrom of Elgin, David Hegstrom of Herscher; one daughter, Margie Dominick of Herscher; one sister, Charlene Kenyon of Boynton Beach, Fla.; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Carol Littlejohn of North Aurora; and two grandchildren, Michelle Lynn Dominick and Vanessa Marie Dominick, both of Herscher.
Two brothers, Bobby and Clifford Jr. Littlejohn; and one sister, Helen Littlejohn are deceased.
Mrs. Hegstrom was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and helped make quilts with the Trinity Lutheran Church Quilters for overseas missions.
She was a member of the Ladies Aid of the church and a choir member for over 25 years; also an altar woman, Sunday School teacher and Vacation Bible School teacher.
She enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitch, plastic canvas and other crafting.
Clementine Stoops
CHENOA - Clementine Connie Stoops, 89, of Meadows Mennonite Retirement Home, Chenoa, formerly of Bradley, died Wednesday (Jan. 31, 2001).
There will be no visitation.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Park cemetery, Pontiac. Rev. Steve Estes will officiate.
Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery, Pontiac.
Memorials may be made to Meadows Mennonite Retirement Home.
Mrs. Stoops had been a restaurant owner in Chenoa.
Duffy Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Aug. 29, 1911, in Bradley, the daughter of Alexander and Nellie Kurpiel Batch.
Her husband, Maurice "Willie" L. Stoops, whom she married
June 16, 1940, in Watseca, died April 3, 1972.
Surviving are one sister, Marian Suprenant of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; and one half-sister, Frances Sirois of Chicago.
Five brothers and four sisters are deceased.
She was educated at Bradley Grade School and Bradley High School.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Chenoa.
Harry Magee
HOOPESTON - Harry Raymond Magee, 80, of Hoopeston, a longtime farmer who helped found the Cullom fair, died Wednesday (Jan. 31, 2001) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Brown-Alkire Funeral Home, Hoopeston.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the East Lynn United Methodist Church, where he was a member. Tim Kovalcik will officiate.
Burial will be in the East Lynn cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the East Lynn United Methodist Church, 41428 Main St., East Lynn.
Mr. Magee had farmed in the Cullom and East Lynn areas all of his life, retiring in 1991.
He had served on the school boards at Cullom and East Lynn for many years.
He had also served on the East Lynn Fire Department.
He was born Feb. 11, 1920, in Cullom, the son of Raymond T. and Ruth K. Clark Magee.
Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy E. Kennedy, whom he married
Feb. 22, 1941, in Cullom; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Bob Clark of East Lynn, Ruth and Glen Hoel of Onarga; one son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Scharry Magee of Hoopeston; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Kathleen and Neil Hamilton of Cullom, Jeannette and Everett Thorndyke of Piper City, June Redenius of Fayette, Mo., Nancy and Wayne Fecht of Cullom; and one brother, Roger Magee of Renton, Wash.
One sister and two grandchildren are deceased.
He enjoyed bowling, playing cards and sports.
Herbert Patchett
PONTIAC - Herbert S. Patchett, 70, of Pontiac, died Thursday (Feb. 1, 2001) at OSF St. James Hospital, Pontiac.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. services at the Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Pontiac. Rev. Dan Harry will officiate.
Burial will be in Round Grove cemetery, Dwight.
Memorials may be made to the Franciscan Hospice of Central Illinois, the First United Methodist Church, Pontiac or to the American Cancer Society.
He was born Feb. 17, 1930, in Reddick, the son of Stanley and Marvella Tyler Patchett.
Surviving are special friend, Phyllis Schmidt of Pontiac; one brother, Larry Patchett of Kennesaw, Ga.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and Ralph Adams of Herscher and Linda and Bob Deutscher of Dwight.
Four brothers and one sister are deceased.
He was educated in the Reddick schools.
Mr. Patchett was employed at the Pontiac Correctional Center in Pontiac for 25 years.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pontiac, and the Loyal Order of the Moose.
He loved his animals and enjoyed working in his yard.
Vyice Hudson
Vyice Hudson, 72, of Kankakee, died today (Feb. 2, 2001) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital.
Arrangements are pending at the Jones Funeral Home.
Cynthia Berkler
GIBSON CITY - Cynthia A. Berkler, 43, of Gibson City, and the relative of area residents, died Thursday (Feb. 1, 2001) at Gibson Area Hospital, Gibson City.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Rev. Rebecca Zelensky will officiate.
Burial will be in Drummer Township cemetery, Gibson City.
Memorials may be made to the Cynthia Berkler Memorial Fund.
She was born Aug. 13, 1957, in Joliet, the daughter of James Snevely and Patricia Thieben.
Surviving are her husband, Charles B. Berkler, whom she married
May 24, 1986, in Lockport; two sons, Charles Berkler II at home, Justin Butler of Tennessee; two stepdaughters, April Robin Flannery of Springfield, Robin Long of Saunemin; her mother of Joliet; her father of Joliet; her stepfather, Stanley Poplawski of Lockport; three sisters, Tammy Snevely of Joliet, Tina Snevely of Hartselle, Ala., Pamela Vehrs of Braidwood; one brother, James Snevely III of Joliet; her mother-in-law, Eliene Loeschen of Lockport; and four grandchildren.
Her grandparents are deceased.
Orville Ennen
BUCKLEY - Orville H. Ennen, 82, of Champaign, formerly of Buckley, died Thursday (Feb. 1, 2001) at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Owens Funeral Home, Champaign.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Champaign, where he was a member. Rev. James Wright will officiate.
Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or to St. John's Lutheran Church, Champaign.
He was born April 22, 1918, the son of Theodore and Bertha Hogrefe Ennen.
Surviving are his wife, the former Marie Ray, whom he married
March 2, 1946, in Buckley; two daughters, Sharon Woodbury and Donna Noonan, both of Bloomington; two sons, Donald Ennen and Thomas Ennen, both of Champaign; four sisters, Elda Wurzberger of Buckley, Dorothy Fischer of Blufton, Ind., Lois Gustafson of Rantoul, Betty Plath of Buckley; one brother, Raymond Ennen of Buckley; six granchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Four sisters are deceased.
Mr. Ennen had been a mechanic for Sullivan Chevrolet in Champaign.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force serving during World War II in Europe.
He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
He was a member of the American Legion at Buckley and VFW Post 630 of Urbana.
