Judy Mogged
PIPER CITY -- Judy Mogged, 62, of Piper City, died Friday (May 3, 2002) at Manor Care Nursing Facility in Normal.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Redenius Funeral Home in Piper City with an 8 p.m. rosary.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Piper City. Rev. Richard W. Brunskill will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Zion cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the National Brain Tumor Foundation, OSF Hospice, or St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Mrs. Mogged was born March 21, 1940 in rural Piper City, the daughter of John R. "Jack" and Marjorie V. Boma. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are her husband, Glenn J. Mogged, whom she married
Nov. 22, 1958 in Piper City; four children, Daniel and Mary Mogged of Mt. Zion, Delanie and Randy Dehm of Peoria, Rhonda and Chris Fisher of Green Valley, Gary and Bridget Mogged of Schaumburg; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, John and Suzanne Boma of Crescent City, Don and Lisa Boma of Piper City, Douglas Boma of Champaign; two sisters, Pat Miller of Lafayette, Ind., Jane and Bill Franey of Piper City; and many nieces and nephews.
One grandson, Michael Jacob Mogged, is deceased.
Mrs. Mogged worked as a telephone operator.
She was a secretary for several years at the Piper City Tri-Ag, and also worked for Uuarco in Watseka for 10 years and most recently was the manager at the State of Illinois Drivers License facility in Gibson City.
She and her husband owned and operated Mogged's Munchies during weekends at fairs and sales for several years.
She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Piper City.
Kenneth Hampshire
Kenneth "Ken" Hampshire, 79, of Kankakee, died Friday (May 3, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center emergency room.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene.
Arrangements are pending at Fitzpatrick Funeral Directors.
Lawrence Kincade
MILFORD -- Lawrence F. Kincade, 74, of Milford, died Saturday (May 4, 2002) at Sheldon Meadows.
Arrangements are pending at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka.
Lola Christensen
PONTIAC -- A memorial service for Lola A. Christensen, 91, of Pontiac, formerly of Cullom, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home in Cullom.
There will be no visitation.
Burial will be in West Lawn cemetery in Cullom.
Memorials may be made to Livingston Manor in Pontiac.
Mrs. Christensen died Friday (May 3, 2002) at Livingston Manor in Pontiac.
She was born April 22, 1911 in Cullom, the daughter of Lennie and Anna Petersdorf Donley.
Her husbands, Alton John Wought; Willie T. Hiestand; and Mr. Christensen, are deceased.
Surviving are three grandchildren, Neil Savage, Patricia Long and Mark Long; great-grandchildren; one brother, Vernon "Buck" Donley of Pontiac; one sister, Dorothy Brinkman of Kankakee; and nieces and nephews.
One son, John A. Wought; one daughter, Anna Mae Long; one grandson, John Savage; one brother, Arthur Donley; and one sister, Esther Rasmus, are deceased.
Mrs. Christensen attended country school near Cullom.
She moved to Arizona in 1957 and returned to Livingston County in 1999.
She was a cook and a waitress.
Marion Batkiewicz
STREATOR -- Marion T. Batkiewicz, 74, of Streator, and mother of a Bourbonnais resident, died Friday (May 3, 2002) at St. Mary's Hospital in Streator.
Private visitation will be held Tuesday prior to the Mass at hagi Funeral Home in Streator.
A funeral Mass will be celetrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Casimir's Church in Streator. Msgr. Jerome Ham will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Casimir's cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kurt and Kyle Snow, Mark, Charles and Edwin Jr. Klein, and Richard Prendergast.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Mrs. Batkiewicz was born Feb. 17, 1928 in Streator, the daughter of Frank and Julia Seroka Klein. Her parents are deceased.
Her husband, William G. Batkiewicz, whom she married
Nov. 11, 1952 at St. Anthony's Church in Streator, died Aug. 1, 1986.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Beth Snow of Streator, Betsy Penoyer of Ottawa; two sons and daughters-in-law, William J. and Kate Batkiewicz of Bourbonnais, James W. and Michele Batkiewicz of Lostant; nine grandchildren; one brother, Edwin "Bud" Klein of Streator; and her father- and mother-in-law, John and Cecelia Batkiewicz of Streator.
One brother, Frank Klein; and two sisters, Helen Prendergast and Marcella Petty, are deceased.
Mrs. Batkiewicz was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church.
She worked for Illinois Valley Milk Co., and St. Anthony's School Cafeteria.
Melvin Mayo
SPRINGFIELD -- Melvin Mayo, 83, of Springfield, formerly of Bradley, died Wednesday (May 1, 2002) at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
A memorial service will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Lawrence Chapel at the Veteran's Home in Quincy.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Agnes Church in Springfield.
Mr. Mayo was born June 19, 1918 in Tolono, the son of Chalmers and Emma Lapcheska Mayo.
Surviving are his wife, the former Elaine Marcotte, whom he married
in 1946 in Champaign, of Springfield; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Fran Mayo of Los Angeles, Calif.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda and Richard Tega of Springfield, Patricia and Harvey Quan of San Francisco, Calif., and Valerie Mayo of Olympia, Wash.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Mayo owned/operated May TV Clinic Sales and Service in Bradley.
He was associated with Sears in Kankakee for 20 years.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in N. Africa, Sicily and Italy.
He was a member of the American legion Post 759 and Amvets.
Mildred Bohner
MILFORD -- Visitation for Mildred E. Bohner, 86, of Milford, will be from 2-5 p.m. today at Knapp Funeral Home in Milford, and from 10 a.m. Monday until the 11 a.m. service at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Milford. Rev. Don Stuckwisch will officiate.
Burial will be in Sugar Creek cemetery in Stockland.

Mrs. Bohner died Friday (May 3, 2002) at Watseka Health Care Center.
She was born Sept. 12, 1915 in Cissna Park, the daughter of Walter and Mary Natschke Luecke.
Her husband, Lewis Bohner, whom she married
Oct. 26, 1936 in Woodworth, died Nov. 13, 1998.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gerald and Pat Bohner of Watseka, Delmer Bohner of Milford; one brother, Norman Luecke of Sheldon; two sisters, Lucille Schuler of Gilman, Helen Bohner of Milford; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Four brothers are deceased.
Mrs. Bohner was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Milford.

Naldia "ChiChi" Green, 56, of Kankakee, died Saturday (May 4, 2002) at her home.

Rachel Ash
CRESCENT CITY -- Services for Rachel L. Ash, 58, of Onarga, were held May 3 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Crescent City. Revs. Harold Grafe and Paul Park co-officiated.
Mrs. Ash died April 30, 2002.
Burial was in St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery in Crescent City. Pallbearers were Scott, Zachary and Brenton Ruder, Andrew Kissamis, Alison Barkley and Kathryn Ash. Honorary Pallbearer was Jacob Kissamis.
Willie Jefferson
TACOMA, Wash. -- Willie Levi "Lee" Jefferson, 68, of Tacoma, Wash., died Tuesday (April 23, 2002) at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma.
He was born March 7, 1934, the son of Willie Levi Sr. and Kathryn M. Jefferson. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Jefferson; one adopted son, Rurjay; two stepsons, Marcus and Tracey; one stepdaughter, Marie; three grandchildren; three sisters, Kathryn and Marilyn of Kankakee, Freda of Fort Myers, Fla.; one brother, Fred of Robbins; and many other relatives.
Three brothers, Thomas, Calvin and Robert; and five sisters, Eva, Brookie, Louise, Beatrice and Anna Marie, are deceased.
Mr. Jefferson was a U.S. Army veteran.
He enjoyed fishing and traveling.
Zella Hurt
GILMAN -- Zella A. Hurt, 93, of Gilman, died Wednesday (May 1, 2002) at the Gilman Nursing Pavilion.
At her request there will be no visitation.
Private graveside rites will be held Saturday in the Gilman cemetery. Rev. Jim Harkins will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Redenius Funeral Home, Gilman, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Nov. 14, 1908, in Marrowbone, Ky., the daughter of Virgel Roge and Hessie Watson Knuckles Hurt.
Her husband, R. Denver, whom she married
Jan. 16, 1934, in Glasgow, Ky., died March 28, 1984.
Surviviing are four sons, Euel Edward Hurt of Bowling Green, Ky., Arnold Marshall Hurt and Philip Robert Hurt, both of Gilman, Charles Garyon Hurt of Crescent City; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Clara Anderson and Opal Martin, both of Marrowbone, Ky.
One sister Eula Huff is deceased.
She moved to Illinois from Kentucky in 1940 and was a member of the Marrowbone Baptist Church.
