DWIGHT -- Visitation for Fred A. Schultz, 80, of Heritage Manor, Dwight, will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hager Memorial Home, Dwight, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Rev. Oliver Zinney will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery, Dwight.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Mr. Schultz died Monday (April 29, 2002) at St. James Hospital, Pontiac.
He was born Nov. 24, 1921in Chicago.
His parents, Fred A. and Dorothy Duvall Schmidt Schultz, are deceased.
His wife, the former Mary B. Stanton, whom he married
June 21, 1942, died Nov. 30, 1987.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Glenn Zylla of Saltillo, Miss.; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Lourdes Schultz of Heyworth; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Paul Nancy Schmidt of Burbank, Dorothy Schultz of Mahomet; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
One brother, Henry Schultz, is deceased.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II and a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Mr. Schultz was a retired laborer in construction.
He was a member of the Lutheran faith.
Lucille Schreiner
MANTENO -- Visitation for Lucille Schreiner, 69, of Manteno, will be from 3-9 p.m. today at the Brown Funeral Home, Manteno.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church of Manteno, where she was a charter member. Revs. Ron Early and Earl Lawson will officiate.
Burial will be in the Bloom cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Manteno.
Ms. Schreiner died Tuesday (April 30, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee.
She was born Oct. 8, 1932, in Golconda, the daughter of Clifford and Maudie Robinson Brown. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd "Corky" and Debbie Schreiner of Manteno, Craig and Laura Schreiner of Kankakee; two daughters and one son-in-law, Vicki and Steve Bethine of Webb City, Mo., Kathy Barrie of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one brother and sister-in-law, Clifford Jr. and Colleen Brown of St. Anne; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Regina Hull and Barbara Fowler, are deceased.
Ms. Schreiner was employed by Hospice of Kankakee Valley and was a seamstress.
She was past president of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She loved gardening and the outdoors.
Mary Rundquist

GRANT PARK -- Mary Lou Rundquist, 63, of Grant Park, died Wednesday (May 1, 2002) at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Grant Park, where she was a member. Rev. Beverly Zell will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grant Park United Church of Christ or Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
Hub Funeral Chapel, Grant Park, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Rundquist taught elementary grades in the Flossmoor and Grant Park school systems. In 1974 she became the first elected woman to the Grant Park School Board.
She was the owner of the Owl's Nest studio. Celebrating over 30 years of painting, she worked for Bob White Enterprises painting tiles and sinks as well as other custom painting around the country.
She was born Jan. 12, 1939, in Dolton, the daughter of Marion and John Town. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are her husband Ronald Rundquist, whom she married
Dec. 17, 1960, in Dolton, of Grant Park; and two daughters, Jean Rundquist of Hillsborough, N.C., and Leisa Rundquist of Durham, N.C.
She was a graduate of Illinois State University.
She was a member of the International Porcelain Artists and Teachers Inc, Porcelain Art Teachers of Illinois and Kankakee Valley Porcelain Artists.
She enjoyed watercolor painting and gardening in which she attained a Master Gardener Certificate from the University of Illinois Master Gardener Program.
Mary Watts
MILFORD -- Mary Jane Watts, 81, of Milford, died Wednesday (May 1, 2002) at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Knapp Funeral Home, Milford, and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. services at the Milford Christian Church, where she was a member. Revs. Neil Larimore and Gary Milton will officiate.
Burial will be in Venum cemetery, rural Milford.
Memorials may be made to the Milford Christian Church; the Milford Ambulance Service or to the Hoopeston Fire Department.
She was born Dec. 28, 1920, in Watseka, the daughter of John and Lena Grove Hedge.
Her husband, Ellsworth Leroy Watts, whom she married
April 9, 1938, in Watseka, died Jan. 27, 1962.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Porter "Kay" Bertram of Milford; two sons, David Watts and special friend, Marlene Gerlach of Monon, Ind., Dennis Watts and special friend, Debbie Graves of Milford; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Kimble Vaughn of Watseka; one sister-in-law, Lavera Bowen of Milford; and several nieces and nephews.
One brother; two sisters; two sons; and one daughter, are deceased.
Mrs. Watts was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, the Milford Women's Club, the Rebekah Lodge 510; and the Grandmothers Club.
She was an active crafter.
Mildred Netherton
MELVIN -- Mildred Marie Netherton, 84, of Melvin, and the mother of area residents, died Tuesday (April 30, 2002) at her home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the noon services at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City. Rev. Heidi Punt will officiate.
Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery, Foosland.
Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice or to the Gibson Area Hospital.
She was born Jan. 28, 1918, in rural Gibson City, the daughter of Earl Herbert and Avos Mildred Priest Taylor.
Her husbands, George W. Shelton and Vern K. Netherton, are deceased.
Surviving are four daughters, Ruby (Lloyd) Allen of Melvin, Patsy (M.L. McCormick) Hord of Bayles Lake, Loda, Peggy (Butch) Buhl of Gibson City, Cathy Jo (Jerry) Jenson of Gothenburg, Neb.; three sons, David (Shirley) Shelton of Winchester, Va., Randall (Rachel) Shelton of Bourbonnais, Roger and Peggy Netherton of Kankakee; 15 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; five sisters, Edna Mason of Rancho Cordova, Calif., Mabel Louise Netherton of Melvin, Wanda Jean Collins and Maxine Conder, both of Bloomington, and Lorene (Bill) Hall of Owensboro, Ky.
One sister and three brothers are deceased.
Mrs. Netherton was a waitress and a cook at Gibson City area restaurants and a housekeeper at Gibson Community Hospital. She had also worked at the canning factory in Gibson City.
She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, puzzles and reading Western books.
Durl Rahn
CLIFTON -- Services for Durl W. Rahn, 62, of Clifton, were held May 1 at the United Church of Chebanse. Rev. Dennis Brayman officiated.
Mr. Rahn died April 28, 2002.
Burial was in Evergreen cemetery, Chebanse. Pallbearers were Jeff, Dave and Jim Stone, Mike Hopson and Scott and Randy Dummer.
Donna Holman
CHICAGO HEIGHTS -- Donna Jean Mary Holman, 60, a longtime resident of Chicago Heights, died Wednesday (May 1, 2002) at her daughter's home in Crete.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. today at the Crete Funeral Home, 1182 Main St.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Liborius Catholic Church, Steger.
Burial will be in Calvary cemetery, Steger.
She was born March 11, 1942 in Chicago Heights.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Eleanor and Joseph Krutul of Crete; Dawn and Loyd Witt of Missouri; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Esperanza McPeek of California, Mo.; two stepsons, Michael Holman of New York, James Holman of Chicago Heights; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Frank and Dorothy Rumisek of Steger, Chuck and Sue Rumisek of Illinois, Richard Rumisek of Kankakee, Michael and Liz Rumisek of Florida; one stepbrother, Stephen Leck of Missouri; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
One son, Jonathon McPeek, died in 1994.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Homewood.
Adelaide E. Spies
A funeral Mass for Adelaide E. Spies, 93, of Kankakee, was celebrated May 2 at St. Anne Catholic Church. Rev. James Fanale officiated.
Mrs. Spies died April 27, 2002.
Burial was in St. Anne Catholic cemetery. Pallbearers were Vincent and Henry Spies, Mark Sutter, Mark Kemp, Larry Bokker and Robert Grey.
Howard Madsen

LA GRANGE -- Howard W. Madsen, 78, of the Illinois Veterans Home, Manteno, formerly of LaGrange, died Wednesday (May 1, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. today at the Hallowell and James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Cletus Church, LaGrange.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Ashkum cemetery. Mr. Madsen was a retired manager of Illinois Bell Telephone.
He was born May 4, 1923, the son of Howard and Mae Dion Madsen.
Surviving are his wife, Rita; two daughters, Kathy Madsen and Susan Capps; three sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Diane Madsen, Kevin and Maureen Madsen, Brian and Niki Madsen; and nine grandchildren.
One son and two brothers are deceased.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II.
Joseph Hall
WILMINGTON -- Visitation for Joseph James Hall, 18, of Wilmington, will be from 5 p.m. Monday until the 7 p.m. memorial service at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Braidwood Chapel. Rev. Avery Wilson will officiate.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Burial will be in the Oakwood cemetery, Wilmington.
Mr. Hall died Wednesday (May 1, 2002) at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
He was born July 12, 1983 in Joliet.
Surviving are his father, James B. Hall Sr. of Wilmington; his mother, Sandra L. Cotton Hall of Morris; two brothers and one sister-in-law, James Hall Jr. of Michigan, Michael and Tina Hall of Gardner; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Christina Hall, Tanya R. and Chris Hood-Bollino, all of Wilmington; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He had attended Wilmington, Braidwood and Coal City schools.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
