Norma Riegel
MANTENO - Norma Riegel, 79, of Manteno, formerly of Monee and Ashkum, died Sunday (April 8, 2001) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital.
Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hack Funeral Home, Beecher.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Crete. Rev. Christopher Pratt will officiate.
Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran cemetery, Richton Park.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church Improvement Fund.
Mrs. Riegel was born April 12, 1921, in Monee, the daughter of Albert and Rose Becker Siefker.
Surviving are her husband, Edwin Riegel of Manteno; two sons, Donald (Gale) Riegel of Beecher, and Orlin (Sue) Riegel of Crete; two daughters, Marilyn (Armand) Tatro of Ashkum, and Phyllis (Dave) Long of Bradley; one sister, Velma Werner of Peotone; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
One brother, Melvin Siefker, is deceased.
Mrs. Riegel was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Crete.

Barbara Wilson
PEOTONE - Barbara E. Wilson, 47, of rural Peotone, died Saturday (April 7, 2001) at home.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today at Fedde-Helfrich Chapel, Peotone, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. David McDonald will officiate.
Burial will be in Peotone cemetery.
Mrs. Wilson was born May 26, 1953, in Harvey, the daughter of Howard and Viola Steinhauer Luecht. Her parents survive in Riverdale.
Also surviving are her husband, Jerome D. Wilson, whom she married July 5, 1975, in Dolton, of Peotone; one son, Jerome Wilson of Peotone; two daughters, Sandy and Susan Wilson, both of Peotone; one brother, Tom Luecht of Riverdale; two sisters, Linda (Stach) Stanzior of Lansing, and Diane (Joe) O'Rourke of St. John, Ind.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Peotone.

Alice DeWeese
LONG ISLAND, N.Y. - Alice Meschutt DeWeese, 83, of Southampton, Long Island, N.Y., formerly of Kankakee, died Sunday (March 25, 2001) at her home following a short illness.
Cremation rites were accorded.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date in New York.
Mrs. DeWeese was born April 17, 1927, in Southampton, the daughter of Stephen F. and Emma Meschutt.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Raymond W. DeWeese; two children, Daryl DeWeese Basler and Raymond Scott DeWeese, both of Southampton; three grandchildren; two sisters of Southampton; one brother-in- law and sister-in-law, Robert and Lois DeWeese Arseneau of Bourbonnais.

Vernon Ahrens,
Army veteran
AROMA PARK - Vernon D. Ahrens, 74, of Aroma Park, died Tuesday (June 12, 2001) at ManorCare Health Services in Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Kankakee, where services will be at 10 a.m. Friday. Rev. Beverly Marshall-Goddell will officiate.
Burial with military rites will be in Aroma Park cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Aroma Park American Legion F-Troop.
Mr. Ahrens was born Dec. 29, 1926, the son of Earl and Lucy St. Aubin Ahrens. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Jessie Dale, whom he married July 6, 1974, in Kankakee, of Aroma Park; four stepsons, Robert and Kay Nickles, and Ron and Kay Nickles, all of Bradley, Mike and Sue Nickles of Bourbonnais, and John and Wendy Brinkman of Limestone; three stepdaughters, Barbara and Jerry Myer of Momence, LouAnn and David Carpenter of Northbrook, and Debbie and Mike Percey of St. Anne; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Geraldine White of Kankakee, and Lola and Robert Kroll of Beaverville; one brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Caroline Ahrens of Boise, Idaho; 15 step grandchildren; 17 step great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
One stepdaughter, Donna Brouillette, is deceased.
Mr. Ahrens was a pipefitter with the Pipefitter's Union Local 383.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of the Aroma Park American Legion Post 1019.
He was a member of the Aroma Park United Methodist Church.
He was a sportsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and trapping.

Dr. James Turner
FLORIDA - Dr. James A. Turner, 84, of Florida, father to a Watseka resident, died Tuesday (May 29, 2001).
A memorial service was held in Florida June 2.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Hospice.
Dr. Turner was born Dec. 25, 1916, in Adair Co., Mo., the son of Daniel Felix and Alta Adams Turner.
Surviving are his wife, the former Dora Copenhaver; three daughters, Judy Turner of Va., Mary Blunk of Watseka, and Kathy Alta Turner and life-partner, John Cannon of N.Y.; three grandsons, Dan, Tom and Pete Blunk; and several nieces and nephews.
Dr. Turner served as a Navy surgeon in the Pacific Theatre during World War II, after which he took his specialty in Pathology to Bethesda Naval Hospital. He served as Chief of Pathology at that institution from 1953-1956. He retired a full commander from the Navy in 1956. During the years 1956 and 1960, he was Pathologist at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Kansas City.
From 1960 until 1977, Dr. Turner was head of Pathology and the Clinical Laboratory at St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee.
He was active in the Rotary Club, and a dedicated member of Central Christian Church.
He held board positions in the Central Illinois Regional Red Cross, and enthusiastically volunteered his professional services to Red Cross blood drives in the Kankakee area.
His community work with Meals-on-Wheels began in Kankakee and continued in Florida until 1997.
In Florida he was a tireless member of Central Christian Church.

Harold Scott,
W.W. II veteran
ÐSHELDON - Visitation for Harold D. Scott, 75, of Sheldon, will be from 2-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Knapp Funeral Home in Sheldon, where services will be at 11 a.m. Friday. Rev. David Scott will officiate.
Burial will be in Fairlawn cemetery in Kentland, Ind.
Memorials may be made to the Harold Scott Memorial Fund.
Mr. Scott died Tuesday (June 12, 2001) at his home.
He was born Nov. 24, 1925, in Le Roy, the son of Harley and Letha VanDevenoer Scott.
Surviving are his wife, the former Corrine Burke, whom he married July 16, 1955, in Crown Point, Ind., of Sheldon; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Terry Scott of Kentland, Ind., and J.R. and Marta Scott of Sheldon; four sisters, Dorothy Allen of Bloomington, Carol Bottles of Le Roy, Leona Meyers of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Millie Allen of Gibson City; and three grandsons.
One brother, Don, is deceased.
Mr. Scott was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Le Roy.
He worked at UARCO for several years.
He enjoyed racing and hockey.

Willard Bisping,
retired farmer
ÐMANTENO - Willard A. Bisping, 86, of Manteno, died Tuesday (June 12, 2001) at Miller Healthcare Center in Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Fedde-Helfrich Chapel in Peotone, where services will be at 11 a.m. Friday. Rev. Barbara Lohrbach will officiate.
Burial will be in Peotone cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Old Mill Restoration Fund.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Bisping, Bill Kannberg, Dan Anker and Richard Hagenow.
Mr. Bisping was born March 28, 1915, in rural Peotone, the son of Louis C. and Minnie Waldhauser Bisping.
Surviving are eight cousins, Gerald Bisping, Lois Morrison, Joy Jacobs, Gloria Thiesfeld, and Carol Bisping, all of Peotone, Carol Waldhauser Robbins of St. Charles, June Stassen of Monee, and Ralph Waldhauser of Chatham; and two special friends, Dan and Karen Anker of Manteno.
One brother, Henry Bisping, is deceased.
Mr. Bisping was a retired farmer, and a member of the Will County Farm Bureau.
He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone, and a past church board member.

Isadore Stuckey
ROUND ROCK, Texas - Isadore Lee Stuckey, 87, of Round Rock, Texas, formerly of Martinton, died Friday (Jan. 19, 2001).
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Martinton Church of Christ.
Mr. Stuckey was born March 12, 1913, in Saskatchewan, Canada, the son of Lee and Celina Lecoq Stuckey. His family moved to a farm near Martinton in Dec. 1924.
His first wife, Janet Buck Stuckey, whom he married Sept. 3, 1940, died Feb. 20, 1965.
Surviving are his wife, the former Edith Barr of Round Rock, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Renee Stuckey of Los Angeles, Calif.; one daughter, Sharon Hoyt of Houston; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Roberta Stuckey of Martinton; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Lavella and Arnold Arp, and Dorothy Knoblauch, all of Momence, Leota Boudreau of South Bend., Ind., and Ella Haberkorn of Watseka.
One brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Irene Stuckey; and three brothers-in-law, are deceased.
Mr. Stuckey lived and worked in a number of Midwestern cities where he was a longtime employee of Ed F. Mangelsdorf & Co., Cypress Supply, Agrico, and Growers Service Corp.
He was an active member of the Presbyterian Church in Crestwood, Mo., and Round Rock, Texas.
He had lived in Round Rock since 1982.

Wilma Boldwin
NEW LENOX - Wilma D. Boldwin, 75, of New Lenox, died Tuesday (June 12, 2001) at Miller Healthcare Center, Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, Cedar at Francis Roads, where services will be at 10 a.m. Friday. Rev. Robert Hahn will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
Mrs. Boldwin was born Sept. 13, 1925, in Mattoon, the daughter of Russell and Hazel Stokes.
Surviving are her husband, Cecil Boldwin, whom she married Oct. 23, 1945, in Jefferson City, Mo. of New Lenox; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Suzette Boldwin of Bourbonnais; three grandchildren, David Schneider, Melody Lane and Holly Boldwin, all of Bourbonnais; one great-grandchild, Alex Cadle of Bradley; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jackie and David Muys of Orland Park, and Barbara and Richard Padtra of Elgin; one brother and two sisters-in-law, David and Lela Boldwin of Holt Summit, Mo., and Mary Branch of Rocky Mount, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Madonna and Rose Marie, are deceased.
Mrs. Boldwin was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Joliet.
She was previously employed at Joliet Federal Savings and Loan.
