WATSEKA -- Joseph Loveland, 76, of Watseka, died Friday (April 26, 2002) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
There will be no visitation or services.
Baier Funeral Home, Watseka, is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Sept. 6, 1924, in Chicago, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Loveland.
Surviving are his wife, the former Catherine Atwood, whom he married
in 1966 in Watseka; five sons, Jimmy Loveland and Larry Loveland, both of Kentucky, Ray Loveland of Watseka, Jim Brown of Hoopeston, Alfred Brown of Indiana; one daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Clarence Otis of Watseka; three sisters, Joyce, Mary and Melody, all of Kentucky; one brother-in-law, Alton Carmon of Kentucky; one brother, Melvin Loveland of Kentucky; one sister-in-law, Irene Loveland of Wilmington; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Two brothers and one sister are deceased.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving from 1943-1946. He was a member of the VFW.
Mr. Loveland was a farmer for 44 years.
Lawrence Weeks
Visitation for Lawrence Delbert Weeks, 83, a life-long resident of Kankakee, will be held 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the 10:30 a.m. services at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Inurnment of cremains will be in The Columbarium in the Garden of St. Francis of St. Paul's.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church or to the Kankakee Area YMCA.
Mr. Weeks died April 13, 2002.
Myrtle Genzel
BUCKLEY -- Myrtle M. Genzel, 95, of Buckley, died Friday (April 26, 2002) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, Watseka.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Ford-Baier Funeral Home, Buckley and from 10 a.m. Monday until the 11 a.m. services at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley, where she was a member. Rev. Edgar L. Peters will officiate.
Burial will be in St. John's cemetery, Buckley.
Memorials may be made to her church.
She was born Oct. 22, 1906, in Buckley, the daughter of William and Caroline Hilgendorf Crozier.
Her husband, Christy A. Genzel, whom she married
Oct. 31, 1926, in Buckley, died April 4, 1983.
Surviving are six sons, Christy J. Genzel of Urbana, Glenn W. Genzel and Lee A. Genzel, both of Buckley, Merle Genzel of Loda, E. Ross Genzel of Bloomsburg, Pa., Dale T. Genzel of Wentzville, Mo.; two daughters, Rose Anna Frichtl of Paxton, Lily Mae Ditman of Monticello; 24 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Two sisters; one brother; and one grandson, are deceased.
She spent her early years in Buckley, Woodworth and Loda and attended various Iroquois County country schools.
Mrs. Genzel and her husband owned and operated the Christle Motel and Restaurant in Buckley from 1960-1982. They lived in Loda and Cissna Park moving back to Buckley in 1953.
She enjoyed cooking and gardening.
Pearl VanKuiken
DWIGHT -- Pearl VanKuiken, 91, of Dwight, formerly of Homewood, died Friday (April 26, 2002) at her home.
There will be no services.
Burial will be in Chapel Hills Gardens in Worth.
Arrangements are by Hager Memorial Home in Dwight.
She was born Oct. 30, 1910 in Chicago, the daughter of Richard and Jeanette Noble VanKuiken.
Surviving are one niece, LaVerne Larson of Midlothian; and special friends, Teri and Heather Campbell, Susan Hoezenga, Tammy West and Lynette Reed.
She graduated from high school in Chicago and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dwight.
Miss VanKuiken was a retired secretary of Post Keyes' Gardner Agency.
She was a former model and dancer.
Maraguerite Anderson
A funeral Mass for Marguerite M. "Peg" Anderson, 85, of Bradley, was celebrated April 26 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Rev. Bill Dewann officiated
Mrs. Anderson died April 24, 2002.
Burial was in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery, Kankakee. Pallbearers were Kathy Pechauer, Mary Adams, Julie Ebersole, Nance Waller, Paula Linder, Ty Hamilton, Mark Ciriacks, Mark Haase and Chad Weaver.
Wilfred Hackley
Wilfred "Hack" Hackley, 76, of Kankakee, died Saturday (April 27, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Monday with 7 p.m. services with military rites, at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes.
Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
He was born Oct. 23, 1925, in Manteno, the son of James and Dora Ebling Hackley.
Surviving are his wife, the former Roberta "Carol" Coffer, whom he married
Oct. 31, 1951, in Waltridge, Ark., of Kankakee; one son, Roger Hackley of Bradley; two daughters and one son-in-law, Sheila and Robert Lamie, Robin Hackley, all of Kankakee; one sister, Harriet Denoyer of Arkansas; one brother and sister-in-law, Ambrose and Carol Hackley of Arizona; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Lucielle Naese and Clarabell Hackley; and one brother, Dale Hackley, are deceased.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II with the Amphibious Forces in the Philippines.
Mr. Hackley was a truck driver for 30 years retiring in 1990 from Rudolph Trucking. He was a member of Local 710 and 705 teamsters.
He was an avid bowler and a diehard Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.
Danny Hundley

BRAIDWOOD -- Danny W. Hundley, 52, of Braidwood, died suddenly Saturday (April 27, 2002) at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the 11 a.m. services at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Braidwood Chapel. Avery Wilson will officiate.
Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National cemetery, Elwood.
He was born Nov. 30, 1949, in Chicago, the son of Oren and Wanda Austin Hundley. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Sandra Holland, whom he married
June 20, 1970, in Lockport; two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Brenda Hundley of Braidwood, Jeff and Theresa Hundley of Wilmington; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Mark Chellino of Reddick, Amanda and Andrew Collins of Coal City; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Anne Havel) Hundley of Joliet, Dennis (Lisa) Hundley of Plainfield; one sister, Sharon (Ron) Nelson of Lockport; and several nieces and nephews.
One brother, Daniel Loren Hundley, is deceased.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Hundley had been a truck driver the past 26 years. He was currently employed by Crete Carrier Corp. of Lincoln, Neb.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coal City and the Christian Motorcycle Association.
Durl Rahn

CLIFTON -- Durl W. Rahn, 62, of Clifton, died Sunday (April 28, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee, after a short illness.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Knapp Funeral Home, Clifton.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the United Church of Chebanse, where he was a member. Rev. Dennis Brayman will officiate.
Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery, Chebanse.
Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
Mr. Rahn was a longtime mechanic in the Clifton area.
He was a Chebanse Township Fireman. He belonged to the Clifton Auxiliary Police and the Clifton Civil Defense Squad.
He umpired for 29 years for various youth baseball leagues in the Clifton area.
He was born Nov. 15, 1939, in Kankakee, the son of Arthur and Edith Peters Rahn. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Karin Stone, whom he married
in May 1971, of Clifton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Guy and Lori Cunningham of Maryville, Eric and Pam Rahn of Washington, Ill.; one daughter, Lori Hopson of Bourbonnais; two sisters, Lucille Jarka of Bradley, Betty Dummer of Bonfield; two brothers, Marvin Rahn of Chebanse, LaVerne Rahn of Holland, Mich.; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
One sister is deceased.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

DWIGHT -- Edward J. Cuddy, 77, of Dwight, died Saturday (April 27, 2002) at his home.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Hager Memorial Home, Dwight.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Campus, where he was a member. Rev. William M. Gardner will officiate.
Burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Mr. Cuddy was a farmer in the Campus area and retired from R.R. Donnelly as a security guard.
He was born Jan. 19, 1925, in Campus, the son of Dennis Edward and Theresa Farley Cuddy.
Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy Maubach, whom he married
Feb. 7, 1948, at St. Mary's Church, Loretto; two daughters, Kathy Hunt of Plant City, Fla., Laurie Cuddy at home; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dennis Cuddy of Cabery, Rick and Pam Cuddy of Essex; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Genevieve Derkus of Kankakee, Ann and George Hoffman of Essex; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Twin sisters, Theresa and Mary; and one brother, Peter, are deceased.
He was a graduate of Reddick High School.
He was a member of the Campus Lions Club, the Parish Council; and the Campus Community Club.
He enjoyed woodworking, mowing lawns and his daily coffee clutches with friends.
Elman LaRoche

A memorial service for Elman "Red" J. LaRoche, 89, of Kankakee, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in Kankakee, where he was a member. Rev. Scott Hill will officiate.
Cremation rites will be accorded.

Arrangements are by the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes.
Mr. LaRoche died Saturday (April 27, 2002) at his home.
Mr. LaRoche worked for over 20 years in sales at Beatrice Foods and then for City National Bank in the marketing department.
He was born Oct. 14, 1912, in Papineau, the son of Edwin and Sofia Zaro LaRoche.
Surviving are his wife, the former Muriel "Skip" Lancaster, whom he married
Aug. 30, 1940, in Dubuque, Iowa, of Kankakee; one son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Judy LaRoche of Brookfield Center, Conn.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Beverly Wertz of Chicago, Roxanne and John Mallinckrodt of Flossmoor; one brother, Palmer LaRoche of Fullerton, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and three nieces and one nephew.
One son-in-law, Paul Wertz; one grandson, Kyle Wertz; and one sister, Norma Prince, are deceased.
He was a life member of the Kankakee Elks Club and was past exalted ruler.
He formerly led the Kankakee High School cheering section during the basketball season.
