James Cantrell
WILMINGTON -- James "Jamie" Cantrell, 46, of Wilmington, died Friday (April 26, 2002) at his home.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Private services and burial will be held.
Arrangements are by Freitag Funeral Home of Wilmington.
Mr. Cantrell was born July 25, 1955, in Jonesboro, the son of Bobby and Alverna Cantrell. His mother is deceased.
Surviving are his fiancee, Patricia Patmore of Wilmington; his father and stepmother, Bobby and Linda Cantrell of Pana; one brother, Bobby A. Cantrell of Vandalia; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Darlene and Bill Reynolds, Christine and Bob Neal, Tabitha Cantrell, and Amanda Cantrell, all of Pana; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mr. Cantrell was a former employee of Personal Products Co., Fibrotech Co. of Wilmington, and J&K; Landscaping of Wilmington.
Joseph Azzarelli
A funeral Mass for Joseph I. Azzarelli, 85, of Kankakee, was celebrated April 27 at St. Teresa Catholic Church. Revs. Anthony Taschetta and Joseph Tremonti officiated.
Mr. Azzarelli died April 24, 2002.
Cremation rites were accordded by the County Line Crematory, Chebanse.
Inurnment was in Mt. Langham cemetery. Pallbearers were Justin Delgado, Joshua and Jake Van Hook, Scott Korstick, Joseph Azzarelli, Ryan Dupuis and Michael and Nicholas Zielinski.
Verdebelle Brouillette
A funeral Mass for Verdebelle Raboin Brouillette, 84, of Kankakee, was celebrated April 27 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Rev. Richard Pighini officiated.
Mrs. Brouillette died April 23, 2002.
Entombment was in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum. Pallbearers were Lan Nichols, William Turley, Edward Raboin, Edward Sanders III, John Van Altna and Robert Cross.
Patricia Boyer
HOOPESTON -- Patricia M. Boyer, 74, of Hoopeston, died Saturday (April 27, 2002) at her home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the 11 a.m. services at the Knapp Funeral Home, Milford. Rev. Tom McCann will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery, Milford.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
She was born Jan. 4, 1929, in Bloomington, the daughter of Edward Howard and Ethel Dell Stephenson Phillips.
Surviving are her husband, William L. "Red" Boyer, whom she married
in November 1958 in Sheldon, of Hoopeston; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Eugene I. and Rhonda Umstattd of Lake in the Hills, Stephen L. and Gloria Umstattd of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Jody and Jolene Boyer of Kankakee, William P. "Winky" Boyer of Watseka, James D. "Bones" Boyer of Bradley; one daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Thomas Wilson of Watseka; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Wanda and Richard Osborne of Franklin Grove, Louise Kellerhals of Gridley, Alice Murphy of Tucson, Ariz.; one brother, Jerry Phillips of East Troy, Wis.; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Boyer had been a CNA at Magnolia Wood Healthcare Center in Watseka.
She enjoyed playing cards, dice and fishing.
William Lewis

DWIGHT -- William H. Lewis, 74, of Dwight, formerly of Pontiac, died Saturday (April 27, 2002) at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Duffy Funeral Home, Pontiac.
Inurnment will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Southside cemetery, Pontiac. Rev. Dan Phillips will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born July 2, 1927, in Ivesdale, the son of William O. and Ida Mae Lindsay Lewis.
Surviving are his wife, the former Karen S. Hack, whom he married
Feb. 6, 1978, in Pontiac; 10 sons, William T. Lewis of Bloomington, Mark A. Lewis of Cornell, Cary E. Lewis of Pontiac, Robert F. Lewis of Lafayette, La., Scott D. Hack of Saunemin, William A. Lewis of Dwight, Jason A. Lewis and Casey D. Lewis, both of Pontiac, Ryan M. Lewis and Eric A. Lewis, both of Dwight; five daughters, Connie S. Chasten and Tracy A. Coward, both of Pontiac, Nicole l. Lewis, Kelli S. Lewis and Shelly L. Lewis, all of Dwight; one stepson, William M. Herrin of Colfax; one stepdaughter, Sharon F. Heatherington of Fairbury; 33 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
One son, James J. Lewis; one stepson, Ralph L. Herrin; and one sister, Geraldine Hall, are deceased.
He attended Ivesdale schools.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Lewis was a union laborer out of Roanoke.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and racing.

Visitation for Adelaide E. Spies, 93, of Kankakee, formerly of St. Anne, will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home, St. Anne.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Anne Catholic Church, where she was a member. Rev. James Fanale will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Anne Catholic Church.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Spies died Saturday (April 27, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital.
She was born Jan. 20, 1909, in Clifton, the daughter of Louie and Gertrude Brayton Gravelot.
Her husband, Peter Spies, whom she married
Jan. 20, 1927, in Kankakee, died in 1986.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Gertrude and Gerald Martell of Spokane, Wash.; two grandchildren, Steven Martell of Sparks, Nev., Dianah Motzner of Twin Falls, Idaho; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
One sister, Susan Mahoney, is deceased.
Mrs. Spies assisted her husband in farming in the St. Anne area.
She was a member of the St. Anne Sodality, the Kankakee Woman's Club and Home Extension.
Frank Zilm
ESSEX -- Visitation for Frank Zilm Sr., 84, of Essex, will be from 2 p.m. Thursday until the 3 p.m. services at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Braidwood Chapel. Rev. Oren Banks will officiate.
Interment will be in Custer Township cemetery, Custer Park.
Memorials in his name to the Essex Ambulance Fund would be appreciated.
Mr. Zilm died Sunday (April 28, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee.
He was born Jan. 21, 1918, in Essex Township, Kankakee County, the son of John and Mary Senn Zilm. His parents are deceased.
His wife, the former Alvina Horn, whom he married
Dec. 14, 1944, in Kankakee, died Dec. 18, 1995.
Surviving are one son, Frank Zilm Jr. of Essex, four grandchildren, Jon (Nikki) Zilm of Manteno, Cristina Ducharme of Manteno, Jeff (Aimee) Zilm of Bradley and Mindy Zilm of Manteno; six great-grandchildren, Joshua and Mikayla Zilm, Amanda, Britney and Tiffany Ducharme and Kailyn Zilm.
One brother, Raymond, died Feb. 25, 1986.
Mr. Zilm was a lifelong farmer, having farmed in Essex Township.
He was a member of the Kankakee County Farm Bureau.
He enjoyed nature, being outdoors and birdwatching.

DWIGHT -- Fred Schultz of Heritage Manor, Dwight, died Monday (April 29, 2002) at St. James Hospital, Pontiac.
Arrangements are pending at Hager Memorial Home, Dwight.
Helen Schade-Ripley
LEROY -- Helen M. Schade-Ripley, 84, of LeRoy, and the father of a Chatsworth resident, died Sunday (April 28, 2002) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Elliott cemetery.
Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation.
She was born Oct. 7, 1917, in Drummer Township, the daughter of Andrew and Maria Kofoid.
Her first husband, Charles A. Schade, whom she married
Dec. 22, 1936, in Chatsworth, died Oct. 16, 1984.
Her second husband, Charles F. Ripley, whom she married
Sept. 20, 1990, in Baraboo, Wis., died Jan. 8, 2002.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Keith Miller of Chatsworth; two sons and daughters-in-law, C. Roger and Ann Schade, Steven and Carol Schade, all of Cullom; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
One brother is deceased.

DWIGHT -- Herman H. Olsen, 81, of Dwight, died Monday (April 29, 2002) at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hager Memorial Home, Dwight, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Craig Robert Miller will officiate.
Burial will be in McDowell cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Dwight United Methodist Church, where he was a member.
He was born Aug. 29, 1920, in Dwight, the son of Chris and Laura Krug White Olsen.
Surviving are his wife, the former Aldine Holm, whom he married
May 28, 1949, in Henderson, Ky.; one daughter, Sharon Olsen of Dwight; one son, Maynard Olsen of Dwight; one sister, Edith Greene of Dwight; two brothers, Donald Olsen of Verona, Raymond Olsen of Big Fork, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.
One sister, Ada Rose; and one brother, Carl Olsen, are deceased.
He was educated in Dwight schools.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2608 of Dwight.
Mr. Olsen retired from R.R. Donnelley of Dwight as a fork lift operator. He worked at Knudsen Concrete Products of Dwight for many years.
He enjoyed watching stock car races, football games and feeding wildlife.
Irma Sharkey
HUDSON, Fla. -- Irma M. Sharkey, 88, of Hudson, Fla., formerly of Kankakee, died Thursday (April 25, 2002).
Cremation rites will be accorded.
There will be no visitation or services.
She was born Dec. 26, 1913, in Kankakee, the daughter of Anthony Frank and Mary Louise Desnoyers Mueller.
Her husband, Roger Sharkey, whom she married
Oct. 26, 1935, is deceased.
Surviving are one son, Anthony Frank Sharkey of San Francisco, Calif.; two sisters, Geraldine Christianson of Perham, Minn., Nathalie Conrad of Kankakee; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
One son, Peter Louis Sharkey; one brother, James C. Mueller; and three sisters, Clarisse Doran, Roselle Richter and Emalie Voegtle, are deceased.
She enjoyed sewing and knitting.
