Irma Leasure

Visitation for Irma Leasure, 65, of Bradley, will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Hertz-Thoma Funeral Chapel, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Steven Friese will officiate.
Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Mrs. Leasure died Tuesday (April 16, 2002) at her home.
She was born July 17, 1936, in Bradley, the daughter of Charles and Ella Dunn Norton.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas Leasure, whom she married June 28, 1963, in Champaign, of Bradley; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lanny and Chris Magruder, Rick and Kim Magruder, all of Bradley; one sister, Grace Ward of Bradley; one brother, Lewis Norton of Grayling, Mich.; two granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers, W.C. Norton, Charles Norton and Clyde Norton, are deceased.
Mrs. Leasure had been a cashier at Marshall's.
She enjoyed card games, gardening and shopping.

Jonathan Gettle

COAL CITY -- Jonathan "Jon" Gettle, 14, of Coal City, died Tuesday (April 16, 2002).
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the U.C. Davis and Sons Funeral Home, Morris.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, Morris. Rev. Tom Ostrander and Hal Green will officiate.
Burial will be in Georgia.
Memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Morris Methodist Church or to the Coal City Middle School.
He was born Feb. 21, 1988, in Marietta, Ga., the son of Michael and Catherine Anderson Gettle.
Surviving, besides his parents of Coal City, are one sister, Jennifer at home; maternal grandparents, James and Marjorie Anderson of Kingston Springs, Tenn.; paternal grandparents, Jesse and Olga Gettle of Dothan, Ala.; two uncles, Reggie (Karen) Anderson of Kingston Springs, Tenn., Tim (Karen) Anderson of Huntsville, Ala.; and several cousins.
He was an eighth grade student at Coal City Middle School. He was an accomplished trombone player and played in the marching band, jazz band, pep band and the concert band. Last fall, he earned Student of the Month and was honored by the school and the Coal City Currant.
He was active in the Boy Scouts, belonging to Coal City Troop 466 and holding Star Rank and earning 19 merit badges. He had previously belonged to the Muscatine Iowa Troop 127.
He loved competitive swimming and swam for the Morris Area Swim Team. He had previously swam for the Muscatine Swim Team in Muscatine, Iowa.
He enjoyed the outdoors, swimming, fishing and camping; baseball and video games.

Loretta Blaney

MOKENA -- Loretta C. Blaney, 72, of Mokena, and the mother of area residents, died Sunday (April 14, 2002) at St. James Olympia Fields Hospital, Olympia Fields.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. today at the Gerardi Funeral Home, Frankfort.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Frankfort, where she was a member.
Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery, Frankfort.
She was born June 29, 1929, in Chicago.
Her husband, Thomas F. Blaney, died in 1999.
Surviving are four daughters and three sons-in-law, Diane and James Barth of Chicago, Therese Mari and John Littrell of Manteno, Eileen and Jack Steele of Kankakee, Loretta Blaney of Mokena; two sons, Thomas Jr. and James Blaney, both of Mokena; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Barbara Youpel of Walkerton, Ind., Thomas and Sylvia Youpel of Beecher and Andrew and Eileen Youpel of Chicago.
Mrs. Blaney was a member of the CCW of her church.

Dorothy Hornberger

BRAIDWOOD -- Dorothy L. Hornberger, 86, of Braidwood, died Wednesday (April 17, 2002) at her home.
Visitation is tentatively set for Monday with services Tuesday at R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes Ltd., Braidwood Chapel.

Francis Sadler

CABERY -- Graveside memorial services for Francis H. "Fritz" Sadler, 78, of Headland, Ala., formerly of Cabery, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Hope cemetery, Cabery.
Memorials may be made to Wiregrass Hospice Inc., P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, Ala., 36302.
Mr. Sadler died Jan. 15, 2002.

Francis Storm

WATSEKA -- Francis F. Storm, 80, of Watseka, died Wednesday (April 17, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. service at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. The Rev. James Dement will officiate.
Burial will be in Wilson cemetery in Iroquois Township with military rites by the F-Troop of Aroma Park.
Memorials may be made to the Kankakee Salvation Army or to the Crescent City Methodist Church.
Mr. Storm was born Jan. 18, 1922, in Ashkum, the daughter of Guy Sr. and Pearl Wilson Storm.
Surviving are his wife, Elsie E. Hamende Storm, whom he married Dec. 7, 1946, at Crescent City Lutheran Church, of Watseka; three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Marla Storm of Monticello, Ind., Gary and Donna Storm of Watseka, and Jerry and Nancy Storm of Crescent City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Gordon Thompsen of Martinton, and Debbie and Chuck Tibbetta of Herscher; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Guy Storm Jr. of Watseka, and Reid and Ruth Storm of Ashkum; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
One sister-in-law, Karen Storm, is deceased.
Mr. Storm was a farmer.
He was a Crescent City School Board member, Watseka Elevator Board member, a member of the Iroquois Township cemetery Board, and a member of the Watseka American Legion.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Crescent City Methodist Church, and enjoyed fishing and telling stories.

Joseph Morris

Joseph Morris, 80, of Kankakee, died Saturday (April 13, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday, until the 10 a.m. service at Lax Mortuary. The Rev. Robert Rucker will officiate.
Burial will be in Momence cemetery.
Mr. Morris was born March 8, 1922, the son of Alex and Leola Morris. His parents are deceased.
He married Geraldine Greenley in 1954.
Surviving are his wife, Louise Walton Morris, whom he married in 1973, of Kankakee; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Alex Morris Sr. of Los Angeles, Calif., and Michael and Rita Morris of Kankakee; a special daughter, Eileen J. Morris of Philadelphia; one stepdaughter, Gwendolyn Wiggins of Chicago; four grandsons; one great-grandson; and a special friend, Dorothy Carson of Kankakee.
His sisters are deceased.
Mr. Morris was a veteran of World War II, achieving the rank of sergeant.
He served as the VFW Post Commander in Pembroke.
He retired from Agar Meat Packing Plant and had worked at the Kankakee County Training Center as a support staff person.
He enjoyed sports, politics, and his birds.

Laura Gaus

BUCKINGHAM -- Laura E. Gaus, 86, of Buckingham, died today (April 18, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital.
Arrangements are pending at the Herscher Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes.

Mae Severson

WESTCHESTER, Ohio -- Mae Severson, 78, of Westchester, Ohio, formerly of Kankakee, died Saturday (April 13, 2002) at Westchester Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Saturday until the 2 p.m. service at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Kankakee. Rev. John Marvin will officiate.
Burial will be in Aroma Park cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Kankakee County Humane Society.
Mrs. Severson was born Feb. 19, 1924, in Carterville, the daughter of Edmund and Minnie Anne Scott Yancey.
Her husband, Stanley Severson, whom she married in 1944 in Kankakee, died April 1, 1996.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Dolores and Frank White of Westchester, Ohio; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Floyd and Eugene, are deceased.
Mrs. Severson was an LPN at St. Mary's Sisters Infirmary for many years.
She enjoyed puzzles, reading and animals.

Mark Hall

MONEE -- Mark E. Hall, 52, of Monee, died Tuesday (April 16, 2002) at St. James Hospice, Chicago Heights.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. Friday until the 8 p.m. services at the Beecher Funeral Home, 602 Dixie Hwy.
Graveside services will be held at noon Saturday at Goodland cemetery, Goodland, Ind.
Burial will be in Goodland cemetery.
He was born April 2, 1950, in Rensselaer, Ind.
Surviving are his fiancee, Barbara Kester; one daughter, Rose McDonald of North Bend, Ore.; two stepdaughters, Debra Erdmann and Veronica Wleklinski; his parents, Gene and Ruth Hall of Kentland, Ind.; one sister and brother-in-law, Marye and Ken Olson of Pensacola, Fla.; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Lawrence "Larry" Hall Jr. of Pensacola, Fla., and Ralph "Butch" and Donna Hall of Morocco, Ind.; and five grandchildren.

Maxwell Smith
Armstrong retiree

WESLACO, Texas -- Maxwell Smith, 83, of Weslaco, Texas, formerly of the Kankakee area, died Tuesday (April 9, 2002) at Knapp Medical Center, Weslaco.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mound Grove Gardens of Memory chapel with burial immediately following.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
He was born Nov. 14, 1918, in Livingston County.
Surviving are his wife, the former Alice Clark, whom he married May 3, 1941, in Kankakee; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lyle and Leslie Smith of Kansas City, Mo., Max K. and Julie Smith of Evansville, Ind.; one daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and William Matters of Bourbonnais; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Eleanor Bailey of Wayne City; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Matters was employed by Armstrong World Industries for many years before retiring in 1981. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and over the next 10 years traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada in their RV. He also worked for many years as a senior volunteer in Voyageur National Park near International Falls, Minn. When not traveling or volunteering he and his wife have resided in Texas since 1985.

Otiella Krumling

Otiella Krumling, 89, of Bourbonnais, died Wednesday (April 17, 2002) at Provena Our Lady of Victory Nursing Home.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. Thursday until the 3 p.m. service at Provena Our Lady of Victory Nursing Home. The Rev. Bob Demchuk will officiate.
Burial will be in Homewood Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Arrangements are by Fitzpatrick Funeral Directors.
Ms. Krumling was born Jan. 4, 1913, in Chicago.
She was a telephone operator in Chicago.
She was of the Lutheran faith and enjoyed playing Bingo, and listening to music.

Richard Probst II

AURORA -- Richard W. Probst II, 56, of Aurora, father and grandfather of Buckingham residents, died Tuesday (April 16, 2002) at RML Specialty Hospital in Hinsdale.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway in Montgomery, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Bob Kasperson will officiate.
Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park cemetery in Oswego.
Mr. Probst was born July 29, 1945, in Aurora, the son of Richard W. Probst and Mary V. Probst-Smith. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Karen Dannewitz of Aurora; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Tanya Probst of Buckingham, and Sean and Kellie Probst of Batavia; seven grandchildren, Mikey Norman of Sandwich, Richard Lee, Brian and Cheyenne Probst of Buckingham, and Nikki, Randy and Jakob Probst of Batavia; and several nieces and nephews.
One brother, Randall Bruce Probst, is deceased.
Mr. Probst was a member of the Plumber and Pipefitters Union Local 319/501 in Aurora.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam era.
