SOUTH WILMINGTON -- Mabel M. Berta, 98, of South Wilmington, died Sunday (April 14, 2002) at OSF Saint James Hospital, Pontiac.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, South Wilmington.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, South Wilmington. The Rev. Bob Maternoski will officiate.
Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery, Braidwood.
Memorials may be made to the family.
She was born Nov. 12, 1903, in South Wilmington, the daughter of Angelo and Elizabeth Haake Bottino.
Her husband, Anton J. Berta Sr., died in 1962.
Surviving are two daughters, Mae Clodi of Dwight, and Genevieve Walker of South Wilmington; onr daughter-in-law, Lou Berta of Joliet; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Two sons, John Francis Berta and Anton J. Berta Jr.; one brother, Louis Bottino; and one sister, Angeline Zanello, are deceased.
She was a Cubs fan.
She enjoyed working puzzles and watching television.
Mae Severson
Mae Severson, 78, of Westchester, Ohio, formerly of Kankakee, died Saturday (April 13, 2002) at the Westchester Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Visitation and services are tentatively planned for Saturday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Kankakee.
Nelda Johnston
Services for Nelda E. Johnston, 83, of Kankakee, were held April 15 at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes. John Powers officiated.
Mrs. Johnston died April 9, 2002.
Burial was in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were Melvin LaFine, Jeff Gresham, Richie Graveline, Danny Grace, Robert Bess and Larry Hanson. Honorary pallbearers were Stephanie Gresham, Jennifer Curly, Robert Hupel, Alan LaFine, Ray Guttendorf, Don Hupel and Kevin Graveline.
Robert Wolfe
MILFORD -- Robert Wolfe, 81, of Milford, died Sunday (April 14, 2002) at the Watseka Health Care Center.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Knapp Funeral Home, Milford, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Neil Larimore will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery, Milford.
Memorials may be made to the Milford Ambulance Service.
He was born June 1, 1920, in Watseka, the son of Randolph and Hannah Thompson Wolfe. His parents are deceased.
His wife, the former Imogene Frame, whom he married
Oct. 31, 1945, died Oct. 1, 1999.
Surviving are one daughter, Terry Jean Rubitschung of Joliet; two grandsons, Robert Rubitschung of Champaign, and Kenneth Rubitschung of Iowa; two great-grandsons, Joey Rubitschung and Lucas Rubitschung, both of Bradley; and one great-granddaughter, Capri Rubitschung of Bradley.
He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran serving during World War II.
Mr. Wolfe was a meat cutter for 30 years at David's Grocery in Milford.
He was a member of the Milford United Methodist Church.
Royce Quayle
CARBON HILL -- Royce Quayle, 78, of Carbon Hill, died Sunday (April 14, 2002) at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Reeves Funeral Home, Coal City.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Assumption Catholic Church, Coal City. The Rev. Donald O'Connor will officiate.
Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kelly and Dana Lardi, Michael Noffsinger, and Jill, Kevin and David Allen.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
He was born Dec. 16, 1923, in Cabery, the son of Floyd and Pearl Metzka Quayle.
Surviving are his wife, the former Lucille Haldorson, whom he married
June 25, 1949, at Assumption Catholic Church, Coal City; two daughters and one son-in-law, Pam Noffsinger of Coal City, and Jacque and David Allen of Carbon Hill; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Criscione of Joliet; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
One brother, Everett Quayle; two sisters, Lois Davis and Nyletta DeSplinter; and one grandson, Josh Allen, are deceased.
He was a 1941 graduate of Cabery High School.
Mr. Quayle was employed as a sheet metal worker retiring in 1985. He was a 50 year member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union 265 in Carol Stream.
He and his wife spent most of their married
life in Custer Park, moving to Carbon Hill in 1985.
He was a member of the VFW Post 5422 and the Moose Lodge, both in Wilmington.
Ruth Gilmoure
VERONA -- Ruth O. Gilmoure, 79, of Verona, and the mother of a Braidwood resident, died Friday (April 12, 2002) at Morris Hospital.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the U.C. Davis and Sons Funeral Home, Morris, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday.The Rev. Mark Amends will officiate.
Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the M-V-K Senior Citizens.
She was born April 18, 1922, in Morris, Okla.
Her first husband, Jack Coffman, whom she married
May 5, 1941, died Dec. 23, 1942.
Surviving are her husband, Leonard J. Gilmoure, whom she married
Oct. 18, 1944, in Corning, Ark., of Verona; one daughter, Karen Gilmoure of Pontiac; one son, Richard Coffman of Braidwood; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one sister; and one brother.
She was a member of the Verona Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Club; Chapter 587 Order of Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron; and M-V-K-Senior Citizens.

NEWTON -- Visitation for Ruth I. Parrish, 85, of Newton, and a former area resident, will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Knapp Funeral Home, Milford, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. David Newton will officiate.
Burial will be in Sugar Creek cemetery, Stockland.

Mrs. Parrish died Wednesday (April 10, 2002) at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
She was born Dec. 14, 1916, in Stockland Township, the daughter of Harvey W. and Faith Marie Coryell Crawford.
Her husband, George T. Parrish, whom she married
June 3, 1936, died Sept. 25, 1986.
Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Carol and Roger Ball of Milford, Arlene Snyder of Northbrook; one sister, Eva Sever of Watseka; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
One brother, Clarence Crawford, is deceased.
Mrs. Parrish was the president and owner of Parrish Oil Production Inc. in Newton.
She was a former member of the Stockland United Methodist Church; president of the Milford Woman's Club; the Illinois Oil and Gas Association and the International Petroleum Association.

William J. Dandurand, 71, of Bourbonnais, died Sunday (April 14, 2002) at his home.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, with a 6:30 p.m. wake service, at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Maternity BVM Catholic Church, Bourbonnais, where he was a member. The Rev. John Peeters will officiate.
Burial will be in St. James cemetery, Irwin.

He was born July 27, 1930, in Marshall, Minn., the son of Edward J. and Marie A. St. Aubin Dandurand.

One son, John J. Dandurand; one daughter, Marie B. Dandurand; and one granddaughter, Autumn L. Bayer, are deceased.
Yvonne Murawski
Yvonne M. Murawski, 70, of Bourbonnais, died Sunday (April 14, 2002) at her home after an extended illness.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the noon services at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
She was born June 21, 1931, in St. George, the daughter of John and Eva Rivard Paquette. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are her husband, James L. Murawski, whom she married
June 25, 1950, at St. Stanislaus Church; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael Murawski of Bourbonnais, Thomas and Loretta Murawski of Durand; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Irene Jarvis of Clifton, Mary Rose and Lloyd Barth of California, Frances and Charles Godwin of Portland, Ore.; and two grandchildren.
Three brothers and three sisters are deceased.
Mrs. Murawski was a former employee of the Bourbonnais Herald.
She was a member of Maternity BVM Catholic Church.
She enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing rummy.
Alvin Gerard
DANFORTH -- Alvin Melvin Gerard, 82, of Danforth, died Monday (April 15, 2002) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, Watseka.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Danforth cemetery. Rev. James Gerth will officiate.

He was born May 26, 1919, in Ashkum, the son of Nicholas and Elizabeth Zimmering Gerard.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mardelle E. Peters, whom he married
March 6, 1942, in Danforth; and two sons, Melvin A. Gerard of Bloomingdale and Mike S. Gerard of Danforth.
Six sisters and three brothers are deceased.
Mr. Girard worked as a hired man doing farm work in the Ashkum area.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Danforth.
He enjoyed horses.
