PEOTONE -- Eleanor E. Sorenson, 69, of Peotone, died Monday (April 15, 2002) at Ingalls Hospice Unit, Harvey.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Fedde-Helfrich Chapel, Peotone, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Bruce Gotschall will officiate.
Burial will be in Homewood Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bruce and Lou Prokop, Jeff, Al, Brad and Jerry Haag.
Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
She was born Dec. 13, 1932, the daughter of Paul and Bertha Siegrist. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Don and Sue Sorenson and Doyle Sorenson, all of Peotone; four grandchildren and one great-grandson; one brother, Carl Boland of California; two sisters, Marie Stuenkel of Monee and Bertha Powers of Georgia.
One brother, Paul Siegrist, is deceased.
Elmer Lundgren
ESSEX -- Elmer J. Lundgren, 79, of Essex, died Monday (April 15, 2002) at his home.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Braidwood Chapel, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Steve Bondi will officiate.
Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National cemetery, Elwood.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
He was born March 5, 1923, in Oak Forest, the son of Salem J. and Alma Anderson Lundgren.
Surviving are his wife, the former Shirley A. Altgilbers, whom he married
Jan. 28, 1956, in Harvey; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Thomas and Leann Lundgren of Kankakee, John and Sherry Lundgren of Channahon, James and Vicki Lundgren of Aurora, William Lundgren and his fiancee, Nancy Ennis of South Wilmington; one grandson; one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Robert Bode of Oakbrook; one brother and sister-in-law, Arnold and Ruth Lundgren of Citrus Heights, Calif.; and nieces and nephews.
One brother, Roy Lundgren, is deceased.
He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran and a member of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.
Mr. Lundgren was a retired electrician, having worked at Western Electric in Cicero for 40 years.
He was a member of the Essex Lions Club and the Essex Historical Society.
He attended St. Lawrence O'Toole Catholic Church in Essex.
He enjoyed creating all types of artwork. He especially enjoyed woodcarving and creating fish models and sculptures with innovative techniques he developed.
He enjoyed square dancing, ballroom dancing and gardening, especially growing cacti.
Esther Walder
ASH GROVE -- Esther Adelheid Walder, 84, a lifelong resident of the Ash Grove area, died Monday (April 15, 2002) at Heartland Health Care of Paxton, where she had been a resident.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m.. Thursday at the Ford-Baier Funeral Home, Buckley, and from 10 a.m. Friday until the 11 a.m. services at St. John's Lutheran Church, Ash Grove. Rev. Mark Lohnes will officiate.
Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran cemetery, Ash Grove.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Ash Grove, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
She was born March 11, 1918, in rural Onarga, Ash Grove Township, the daughter of Herman and Anna Marie Gerken Arends.
Her husband, Wilbur "Bud" Walder, whom she married
Dec. 20, 1936, at St. John's Lutheran Church parsonage, died Dec. 20, 1986.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Marinell Walder of Granite Bay, Calif.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Gordon Seggebruch of Ash Grove, Jean and Chuck Eyman of Champaign, Sandy and Ken Baker of Charleston; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
One brother and one great-grandson are deceased.
She attended St. John's Lutheran School in Ash Grove.
Mrs. Walder was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ash Grove and the Ladies Aid.
George Keele
MOMENCE -- George W. Keele, 77, of Momence, died Monday (April 15, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Hughey Funeral Home, Mt. Vernon.
Graveside services, with the military flag presentation by the chaplain of American Legion Post 141, Mt. Vernon, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bethel Memorial cemetery.
He was born Sept. 25, 1924, in Marion County, the son of Ray and Clara E. Thompson Keele.
His wife, the former Lorraine I. Chapman, whom he married
Dec. 11, 1954, in Mt. Vernon, died May 15, 1997.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Gail Keele of West Frankfort, Bill Don and Linda Jones of Michigan City, Ind.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Don Hurlow of Highland, Ind., Lisa Keele-Adair and Mark Adair of Momence; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Leroy and Jane Keele of Anncoco, La.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Keele was a retired boilermaker.
He was a member of Evidence of Faith Church in Kankakee.

Irma Leasure, 65, of Bradley, died today (April 16, 2002) at her home.

Larry Hebert
Visitation for Larry E. Hebert, 51, of Kankakee, will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, where he was a member.
Burial will be in St. Anne Catholic cemetery.

Mr. Hebert died Sunday (April 14, 2002) at his home.
He was born July 6, 1950, in Kankakee, the son of Donald and Verna Wade Hebert. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his life companion, Betty Corbin of Kankakee; two daughters and one son-in-law, Courtney Hebert and Dawn and Todd Craigmiles, all of San Bernardino, Calif.; two sisters, Paula Hall of Apache Junction, Ariz., Joy Potter of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Jimmy Cornelis of Nevada, Iowa, Jeffery Madeiros of Boone, Iowa; three grandchildren, Crystal, Codey and Nathan; and grandmother, Margaret Hebert of St. Anne.
Mr. Hebert was employed at Sears Logistics. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.

Marilyn Bertrand Clements, 75, of Kankakee, died Monday (April 15, 2002) at Provena Our Lady of Victory Nursing Home, Bourbonnais.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday morning at St. Teresa Catholic Church.

BRAIDWOOD -- Mary M. Nahas, 89, of Braidwood, died Monday (April 15, 2002) at the Embassy Care Center, Wilmington.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Braidwood Chapel, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. Rev. Donald O'Connor will officiate.
Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery, Braidwood.

She was born Feb. 11, 1913, in Braceville, the daughter of Adam and Hannah Rink Cullick.
Her husband, Toffie Nahas, whom she married
Oct. 26, 1935, in Braidwood, died in 1984.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodger and JoAnn Nahas of Joliet, Thomas and Susan Nahas of Braidwood; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Herman "Butch" Cullick of Coal City; one sister, Pauline Hooper of Dwight; and several nieces and nephews.
Two sisters and three brothers-in-law, Rose and Dave Hultgren, Martha and Jim Krall, Dighton Hooper; six brothers and five sisters-in-law, Joseph and Hazel Cullick, John "Jack" and Matty Cullick, George Cullick, Felix and Audrey Cullick, Peter and Ethel Cullick, Bernard "Ben" Cullick and Mary Cullick, are deceased.
Mrs. Nahas was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Altar and Rosary Society in Braidwood.

Mary L. Vanden Hout, 58, of Bradley, died Monday (April 15, 2002) at her home after an extended illness.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bradley, where she was a member.

She was born Aug. 26, 1943, in Kankakee, the daughter of William T. and Marie Antoinette Roy Hanrahan. Her parents are deceased.

She was a graduate of St. Patrick Central High School.
Mrs. Vanden Hout was an administrative assistant to the president at Peddinghaus, Inc. in Bradley.
She was a member of the Versatiles Club.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandson, especially watching him take his first steps.
Paul Farquhar
STREATOR -- Paul Thomas Farquhar, 78, of Streator, and the brother of a Bourbonnais resident, died Sunday (April 14, 2002) at his home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Wednesday until the 2 p.m. services at Dieterle Memorial Home, Montgomery.
Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park cemetery, Oswego.
Memorials may be made to Hospice at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator.
He was born Aug. 5, 1923, in Grantsburg, the son of Ira and Josephine Dunn Farquhar.
Surviving are his wife, the former Eula Mae Titsworth, whom he married
Dec. 7, 1943, in Sorento; four daughters and sons-in-law, Gwen and Frank Pharis of Tulsa, Okla., Joy and David Glenn of Woodstock, Glynda and John Gregg of Streator, Paula and Jay Grammer of Floral, Ark.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; stepmother, Doll Farquhar of Eldorado; and two brothers, Lowell Farquhar of Bourbonnais and Joe Farquhar of Florissant, Mo.
Two brothers, Lewis and Edward Farquhar, are deceased.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion.
Mr. Farquhar worked as a truck driver for A.D. Connor Trucking for 30 years.
He was a member of Community Gospel Church of Melrose Park for 37 years. He served as a board member, maintaining the church vehicles and oversaw construction projects and building needs. He served for two years in the MAPS ministry.
Phyllis Longtin
MONTCLAIR, Calif. -- Phyllis J. Longtin, 72, of Montclair, Calif., formerly of Kankakee, died Saturday (April 13, 2002) at her home.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Burial will be in Riverside National cemetery, Riverside, Calif.
Draper's Mortuary, Ontario, Calif. is in charge of arrangements.
She was born April 11, 1930, the daughter of Clement and Macel Caillouette Raiche.
Surviving are her husband, Eugene Longtin, whom she married
June 21, 1952, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Kankakee; one son, Dale Longtin of Fontana, Calif.; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Janet and David Vincent of Huntington Beach, Calif., Cindy Longtin of Upland, Calif., Theresa and Pat Alsup of Torrance, Calif. and Diane Longtin of Ontario, Calif.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Rita Lagacy of Clifton, Mary Ellen and Gordon Burton of Bourbonnais, Carol Riley of Fresno, Calif., Nancy and James Reising of Northbrook; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Madonna Raiche of Bourbonnais; and several nieces and nephews.
One brother, Robert; and one sister, Doris Ann, are deceased.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She had served on the parish board for three years, was a choir member and taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine classes at the parish school for 30 years.
She enjoyed reading and was an avid L.A. Dodger baseball fan.
