Visitation for Francis White, 82, of Bourbonnais, will be from 4-9 p.m. today at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Manteno.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Risen Savior Lutheran Church, Manteno.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials may be made to the Kankakee County Humane Society or to the American Heart Association.
Mr. White died Monday (April 8, 2002) at St. James Olympia Fields Medical Center following a short illness.
He was born Nov. 11, 1919, in Chicago, the son of Peter J. and Marie Larsen White. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Evelyn G. Jensen, whom he married
Feb. 22, 1947, in Chicago, of Bourbonnais; two sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Cari White of Oak Forest, Paul and Angie White of Tinley Park; two daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Ken Jacobi of Kankakee, Muriel and Gil LaRoche of Peotone; and two granddaughters, Meghan and Lauren LaRoche.
One brother and one sister are deceased.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II as a sergeant in artillery.
Mr. White retired from R.R. Donnelley in 1981.
He was a volunteer at Provena St. Mary's Hospital.
He enjoyed gardening and fishing. (Pd.)
Guy Zarring
Guy Zarring, 80, of Bradley, died Sunday (April 7, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center.
There will be no visitation or service at this time.
Mr. Zarring has donated his body to the Anatomical Gift Association in Chicago.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Zarring was born March 24, 1922 in Tuscola, the son of Pug and Florence Zarring.
Surviving are his wife, the former Vanetta Spencer, of Bourbonnais; one son and daughter-in-law, Rich and Cathy Zarring of Genoa; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Jan Randolph.
Mr. Zarring was a rose grower for several greenhouses.
He enjoyed C.B. radios.
Irene Albright,

Irene M. Albright, 94, of Kankakee, died Monday (April 8, 2002) at Manorcare Health Services.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. Friday until the 11 a.m. service at Mound Grove Gardens cemetery Chapel. Rev. Donald Long will officiate.
Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church.

Miss Albright was born Nov. 27, 1907 in Kankakee, the daughter of Henry and Louise Huse Albright.
Miss Albright worked for the Kankakee Water Co. for 30 years; was secretary for Dr. Edwin S. Hamilton; secretary for Edwin Pratt Sons Co.; and secretary for South Suburban Safeway Bus Co.
One infant brother, Henry Jr.; and her longtime good friend, Les Jennings, are deceased.
She was a graduate of the Kankakee School System and the Gallagher Business College.
She was a long-time member of Asbury United Methodist Church, and enjoyed sewing, making crafts, photography and playing the piano.

A memorial service for Irene J. Anderson, 85, of Bourbonnais, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Bourbonnais. Rev. Robert Demchuk will officiate.

Burial will be in St. John's cemetery, Beecher.
Mrs. Schmeckpeper died Sunday (April 7) at Ingalls Inpatient Hospice in Harvey.
Mrs. Schmeckpeper was a former rural postal carrier.
She was born Dec. 26, 1922 in Matteson, the daughter of Norman and Rose Siemann Dettmering.
Surviving are her husband, Irving Schmeckpeper of Beecher; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Warren and Linda Schmeckpeper of Markesan, Wis., Theron Schmeckpeper of St. Anne; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Lloyd Blume of Frankfort, June and Melvin Rohlwing of Buckley; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
One sister, Helen Vollmer, is deceased.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Raymond Albert
Raymond C. Albert, 90, of Bourbonnais, died Monday (April 8, 2002) at Miller Healthcare Center, Kankakee, after a short illness.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Maternity BVM Catholic Church, Bourbonnais.
Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre cemetery, Alsip.
He was born Oct. 18, 1911, in Chicago, the son of John and Grace Shaw Albert. His parents are deceased.
His wife, the former Violet Shaw, whom he married
in 1935, died July 21, 1985.
Surviving are one brother and sister-in-law, John and Gertie Albert of Arizona; niece, June Cahill of Arizona; nephew, Harold Albert of Orland Park; and special friends who cared for him, Mike and Andi, Erin, Erica, Jessica and Julie Domzalski of Bourbonnais.
One son, Raymond Albert Jr., is deceased.
Mr. Albert was retired from Southtown Refrigeration.
He was a member of the Pipefitter's Union.

Rev. Ozzie Edwards
minister, sociologist
ST. ANNE -- Rev. Dr. Ozzie L. Edwards Jr., 66, of Boston, Mass., formerly of St. Anne, longtime minister and sociologist, died Wednesday (April 3, 2002) at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Mass., after a year-long illness.
Services were held April 8 in Massachusetts at the Eliot Church of Roxbury, where he was senior pastor.
Visitation will be locally from noon Thursday until the 1 p.m. services at Greater New Hope Baptist Church. Rev. Hezekiah Brady will officiate.
Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery.
Local arrangements are by Lax Mortuary, Kankakee.
He served as assistant minister at the Hope Bible Church on Chicago's Southside while attending Moody Bible Institute, Chicago from 1954 until his graduation in 1957. He also received a bachelor's in sociology from Wheaton College in 1958. He then enrolled at Fuller Seminary, Pasadena, Calif. He received a graduate degree in social work in 1963 from the University of California and in sociology from California State College in 1964. He then received a doctorate in sociology from the University of Wisconsin. His thesis, which focused on the impact of family composition upon place of residence, received professional recognition.
The next 19 years were spent teaching at the University of Illinois in Chicago, the University of Michigan, Harvard University and Northeastern University. He also was director of Urban Studies at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and chairman of African American Studies at the University of Michigan and Northeastern University, Boston.
He published several articles on sociology for leading journals, and wrote articles for Christian publications, including quarterly Sunday School lessons for Urban Ministries, literature designed for inner city youth.
He assisted black colleges in securing financial resources including Mary Holmes College in West Point, Miss.
After coming to Harvard University in January 1978, he became active in the Eliot Church. In December 1981 he became interim minister.
Rev. Edwards has received numerous awards and honors, including the Doctor of Humanities Degree from the New England School of Law. On March 8, 1995, he appeared on the front page of The Boston Globe for receiving the Boston Neighborhood Fellows $20, 000 Award for community service.
He was born Feb. 16, 1936, in Chicago, the son of Ozzie Sr. and Ellen Edwards.
He married
the former Thelma Wright in 1958.
Surviving are his wife, the former Lula Evelyn Petty; five children, Ozzie III of Los Angeles, Calif., Timothy Dwight of Providence, R.I., Brett Tirrell of Boston, Mass., Daryl Westfield of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Omy Lela of Hampton, Va.; six grandchildren; his mother, Ellen Lela Edwards of Ocala, Fla.; one sister and brother-in-law, Hon. Sandra and James Stephens of Ocala, Fla.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Delores of Lauderhill, Fla., Michael and Millie of Atlanta, Ga.; and several other relatives.
During his high school years he worked on local farms.
He played high school sports and earned both athletic and academic honors and scholarships.

Ruth C. Weikum, 94, of Seneca, formerly of Downers Grove and Hinsdale, died Monday (April 8, 2002) at the Rivershores Nursing Home in Marseilles.
Arrangements are pending at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Braidwood Chapel.
Esther Harris
Services for Esther M. Harris, 86, of Bradley, were held April 8 at the Bradley Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes. Rev. Tom Wilbur officiated.
Mrs. Harris died April 5, 2002.
Burial was in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael Gershon, Nick Morris, Gary Overright, Dennis McClintock, Paul Lampi and George Mosier.
Ethel Bruns

Mrs. Bruns died April 2, 2002.

James Delmore
A funeral Mass for J.P. "Pat" Delmore, 74, of Kankakee, were celebrated April 8 at St. Rose of Lima Church. Rev. Richard Jacklin officiated.
Mr. Delmore died April 4, 2002.
