Renee Larimer

Renee L. Larimer, 57, of Bradley, died Wednesday (April 4, 2002) at her home, after an extended illness.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. services at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais.
Burial will be in All Saints cemetery, Bourbonnais.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley or to the Breast Cancer Awareness Program.
She was born Nov. 26, 1944, in Morris, the daughter of Leonard and Nadine Goode Hansen. Her father is deceased.
Surviving are her husband, Jeff Larimer, whom she married July 1, 1996, in Bourbonnais; her mother of Morris; one sister and brother-in-law, Marsha and James Tucker of Mazon; one brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Janice Hansen of Verona; mother-in-law, Claire Larimer of Bourbonnais; four sisters-in-law, Kathy Blanchette of Kankakee, Bonnie and Pete Christie, Amy and Jim Modert, all of Bourbonnais, Mariann and Greg Hart of Bradley; two brothers-in-law, Rick Larimer of Chicago, David and Jeannine Larimer of Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.
Her father-in-law, Mark R. Larimer, is deceased.
Mrs. Larimer was a sales clerk at Joy's Hallmark Shop.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bradley.
She enjoyed baking and cooking.

Robert Phillip Van Antwerp

PIPER CITY -- Visitation for Robert Phillip Van Antwerp, 77, of Piper City, will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, with an 8 p.m. rosary service, at the Reilly-Redenius Funeral Home, Piper City.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church, Piper City, where he was a member. Rev. John Balluff will officiate.
Burial, with military rites by the Gibb Post 588 American Legion, Piper City, and Champaign County Color Guard affiliated with the National Guard, will be in Calvary cemetery, Piper City.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church, Piper City.
Mr. Van Antwerp died Tuesday (April 2, 2002) at Mattoon Healthcare, Mattoon, after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Van Antwerp was a building contractor owning and operating "Bob's Builders" in Piper City from 1962-1988. He built 67 homes in the Piper City area.
He was born March 30, 1925, in Kinsman, the son of Harry B. and Anna Louise "Tootie" Koestner Van Antwerp.
Surviving are his wife, the former Teresa Mardel Stucker, whom he married April 2, 1951, in Cullom; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert Michael and Julie Van Antwerp of Mahomet, Steven Eugene Van Antwerp of Piper City, Raymond Marc and Heidi Van Antwerp of Loda; two daughters and one son-in-law, Marilyn Jane Boma of Gilman, Julie Marie and David Mabrey of Paxton; eight grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Ann Van Antwerp of Fairbury, Joann Van Antwerp of Chatsworth, Pauline Van Antwerp of Goshen, Ind.; and one brother-in-law, William Zart of Mesa, Ariz.
Two sisters, Valerie Day and Ardath Zart; and three brothers, William Arlo, Harry and Joseph, are deceased.
He was a 1943 graduate of Piper City High School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II and a member of the Gibb Post 588 of the American Legion, Piper City.
He was a member of the Piper City Lions Club serving as their tail twister.
He enjoyed hunting and was a lifelong Cubs fan.

Ruth Harstedt

A memorial service for Ruth Esther Harstedt, 103, of Wesley Township, Will County, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wilton Center cemetery. Rev. Harvey Gaither will officiate.
Brown Funeral Home, Manteno, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Harstedt died Feb. 26, 2002.

Clifford Raguse

Services for Clifford "Rags" Raguse, 76, of Kankakee, were held April 3 at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes. Rev. Dale Goodman officiated.
Mr. Raguse died March 29, 2002.
Burial was in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Hess, Michael Corum, Gary Apel, Mike Pettchett, Steven LaFrance, Dan Dattilo and Kelly Madsen.

Alvin Fanning

MILFORD -- Services for Alvin F. Fanning, 83, of Milford, were held April 3 at the First Christian Church, Milford. Rev. Neil Larimore officiated.
Mr. Fanning died March 31, 2002.
Burial, with graveside military rites by the Cissna Park American Legion, was in Apostolic Christian cemetery, Cissna Park. Pallbearers were Robert, Tim and Skip Fanning, Bob Luecke Jr., Terry Fanning, Rodney Wyss and Scott Emme.

Edna Greep

GRANT PARK -- Services for Edna Viola Greep, 82, of rural Grant Park, were held April 3 at Hub Funeral Chapel, Grant Park. Rev. Beverly Zell officiated.
Mrs. Greep died March 30, 2002.
Burial was in Union Corners cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim Gigl, Leonard Papineau, Don Greep, Stan Weas, Robert Adler and Paul Chamberlain. Honorary pallbearers were Gene Helms, Matt Lux, Todd Betsinger, Dave Kellenberger, Eric Helms and Mark Majorowski.

Kathleen Howe

MANTENO -- Services for Kathleen Lou Howe, 71, of Manteno, were held April 3 at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Manteno. Rev. Bob Grove will officiate.
Mrs. Howe died March 30, 2002.
Burial was in Abraham Lincoln cemetery, Elwood.

Guy Collings

ST. ANNE -- A funeral Mass for Guy H. Collings, 27, of St. Anne, was celebrated April 2 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Beaverville. Rev. Robert Coleman officiated.
Mr. Collings died March 27, 2002.
Burial was in St. Mary's Church cemetery. Pallbearers were Tommy and Chad Oliver, Rob Cassidy, Todd and Corey Pasel, Grant Schumacker, Jeff Anderson, Tim Kraft, Bret Ziedyk and Jeremy Holman.

Walter Land

MOMENCE -- Visitation for Walter Land, 67, of Momence, will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. services at St. Anne Woods Chapel. Rev. Louis Barnes will officiate.
Burial will be in Momence cemetery, Ganeer Township.
Arrangements are by Leggett Funeral Home, Hopkins Park.
Mr. Land died Sunday (March 31, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee.
He was born April 16, 1935, in Lexington, Miss., the son of Neely and Classie Hooker Land. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are three sisters, Elaine Buckley of Detroit, Mich., Mary Grafreed of Goodman, Miss., Bernice Mabry of Durant, Miss.; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Clarence Boyd of Las Vegas, Nev., Jeff Williams of Goodman, Miss., Willie and Dorothy Williams of Chicago; one aunt, Jessie Mae Washington of Momence; one uncle, Melotha Hooker of St. Anne; and special friend, Dorothy Corbett.
One sister; five aunts; and one uncle, are deceased.
Mr. Land worked on the railroad as a trackman.
He was a resident of the area for 43 years.
He enjoyed painting, restoring cars and listening to blues music.

Christian Wells

Christian Wells, infant son of Cameron and Paula Wells of Kankakee, was stillborn today (April 5, 2002) at the University of Illinois, Chicago.
Arrangements are pending at Lax Mortuary, Kankakee.

Clyde Loeffelbein

Visitation for Clyde L. Loeffelbein, 75, of Port Saint Lucie, Fla., formerly of Kankakee, will be from 10:30 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. services in the chapel at Mound Grove Gardens cemetery, Kankakee. Rev. Karl Koeppen will officiate.
Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where he was a lifelong member.
Senesac Rehr-Kaiser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Loeffelbein died Sunday (March 24, 2002) at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, Ft. Pierce, Fla.

Elsie Carmichael

GILMAN -- Elsie L. Carmichael, 70, of Gilman, died Thursday (April 4, 2002) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, Watseka, after a sudden illness.
Arrangements are pending at the Redenius Funeral Home, Gilman.

Esther Harris

Esther Harris, 86, of Bradley, died today (April 5, 2002) at her home.
Visitation is tentatively set for 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Bradley Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes with services on Monday.

Hazel Fox

MILFORD -- Services for Hazel A. Fox, 95, of Milford, were held April 4 at the Milford Christian Church. Rev. Neil Larimore officiated.
Mrs. Fox died April 1, 2002.
Burial was in Sugar Creek cemetery, Stockland. Pallbearers were Sean McCalla, Jim Winder, Jim Kunce, Kenny Duden, Phillip Marble and Ray Gibson.

William Johnson

Services for William "David" Johnson, 69, of Kankakee, were held March 29 at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes. Rev. Greg Eilders officiated.
Mr. Johnson died March 26, 2002.
Cremation rites were accorded. Burial was in Abraham Lincoln National cemetery, Elwood.

Verda Hamilton

Services for Verda "Pat" Cleo Hamilton, 92, of Bradley, were held April 4 at River Valley Christian Fellowship Church, Bradley. Rev. George Miller officiated.
Mrs. Hamilton died March 31, 2002.
Burial was in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were John, Ron and Tom Snodsmith, Ty and Ian Hamilton, Bill Blum, Randy Pozdoll, Noel Strahan, Rob Smith, John Grey and Mark Crisik.

Emilie Ujwari

A funeral Mass for Emilie Ujwari, 81, of Kankakee, was celebrated April 5 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Rev. Dennis Settles officiated.
Mrs. Ujwari died April 1, 2002.
Burial was in All Saints cemetery, Bourbonnais. Pallbearers were Adam Ujwari, Krystian and Damian Tworzydlo, Brian and Jeff Sommervold and Kurtis Kent.

Gerry Blumenthal

RICHTON PARK -- Gerry Blumenthal, 84, of Richton Park, died Wednesday (April 3, 2002).
Survivors include her son, Timothy Blumenthal of St. Anne.
Arrangements are pending at the Fitzpatrick Funeral Directors, Kankakee.

Henry Ray

Henry J. Ray, 70, of Salt Lake City, Utah, formerly of Bradley, died Tuesday (April 2, 2002).
Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at 10 a.m. April 18 at Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery. Rev. Larry Schreffler will officiate.
Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Nov. 20, 1931, in Kankakee, the son of Bernard and Bernadette Gabois Courville.
His wife, the former Bertha Schoon, whom he married in 1989 in Champaign, died in 1996.
Surviving are one sister, Marge Coy Kohan of Bourbonnais; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran from 1951-55.
Mr. Ray was a plumber pipefitter with Union Local 383.
