MANTENO -- Visitation for Kathleen Lou Howe, 71, of Manteno, will be from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the 11 a.m. services at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Manteno.
Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National cemetery, Elwood.
Memorials may be made to her grandchildren's education.
Mrs. Howe died Saturday (March 30, 2002) at Manor Care Health Services, after an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 18, 1930, in Orient, the daughter of John and Ruby Morris Shaw.
Surviving are her husband, Harold Lee Howe, whom she married
in 1964 in Harrisburg, Ill., of Manteno; one daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Donald Francoeur of Kankakee; one sister, Dorothy Matton of Kankakee; and three grandchildren, Ben, Brittany and Dylan.
Two sisters and three brothers are deceased.
Mrs. Howe was a former employee of Hornsby's.
She was a member of the Methodist faith.
Russell Burnes
BUCKINGHAM -- Services for Russell A. "Buzz" Burnes, 18, of Buckingham, were held March 30 at the Herscher Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes.
Mr. Burnes died March 26, 2002.
Burial was in Pilot Township cemetery, Herscher. Pallbearers were Dustin and Tim Hubert, Keith Holmes, Zack Yatzack, Mike Swinford, Jeremy Tapp and Steven Myers.
Henry Bretveld
CHEBANSE -- Services for Henry "Hank" Bretveld, 83, of Chebanse, were held March 30 at Faith Reformed Church, Kankakee. Rev. Scott Lemenager officiated.
Mr. Bretveld died March 28, 2002.
Burial was in Oakwood cemetery, Wichert. Pallbearers were Michael Cote, Joseph Zus, George Germain, Rob, Aaron and Kenneth Bretveld Jr.
Carolyn Kohlman
DANFORTH -- Services for Carolyn W. Kohlman, 85, of Danforth, were held March 29 at the Redenius Funeral Home, Gilman. Rev. Donald J. MacDonald III officiated.
Mrs. Kohlman died March 25, 2002.
Burial was in Danforth cemetery. Pallbearers were Kenneth McGehee, Donald Miller, David Perzee, John "Jack" Pluard, Russell Saxsma and David Trumble.
Verda Hamilton
Verda "Pat" Hamilton, 92, of Bradley, died Sunday (March 31, 2002) at Loyola University Hospital, Maywood.
Arrangements are pending at the Bradley Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes.
Verneal Bramer

MOMENCE -- Verneal E. Bramer, 66, of Momence, died Sunday (March 31, 2002) at his home.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Cotter Funeral Home, Momence, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Steven Reyner will officiate.
Burial, with military rites by the Momence Honor Guard, will be in Shrontz cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
Mr. Bramer was the Momence Township Road Commissioner for 20 years and had worked with Plein Plumbing and Heating.
He was born Jan. 16, 1936, in Grant Park, the son of Rinhart and Vera Heldt Bramer. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Evelyn Whitten, whom he married
May 8, 1954, in Kankakee, of Momence; two daughters and one son-in-law, Debra and Randy Laneville of Kentland, Ind., Connie Bramer of Momence; two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Julie Bramer, Rich and Lisa Bramer, all of Momence; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Gordon and Geri Bramer, David and Cheryl Bramer, all of Momence, Betty Bramer of Chicago Heights; two sisters, Ethel McKinstry of Grant Park, Pat Nicholas of Momence; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
One brother, Ralph, is deceased.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Illiana Heights Methodist Church.
He loved woodworking.

Arline Bakker, 84, of Lansing, formerly of Crete, died Tuesday (March 26, 2002) in Glenwood.
Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Burial will be in Skyline cemetery, Monee.

Her husband, Abraham Bakker Sr., is deceased.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Abraham Jr. and Dianna Bakker; and two grandchildren, Robert A. Bakker and Karrie A. Bakker.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Faith Reformed Church in Kankakee. Rev. Scott Lemenager will officiate.

Mr. Bretveld was retired from Belson Scrap and Steel.
He was born May 4, 1919, in Sibley, Iowa, the son of Bernard and Fannie VanDyke Bretveld.
His wife, the former Loretta Jagear, whom he married
Jan. 16, 1946, in Wichert, died in April 1997.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Marcia Bretveld of Kankakee, Kenneth and Sharon Bretveld of Cissna Park; one daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Tennis Arseneau of Chebanse; one sister and brother-in-law, Harriet and Robert Roland of St. Charles; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Sadie Bretveld, Albert and Esther Bretveld, all of Wichert; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Ruth Bretveld of Evergreen Park.
Two brothers, Bernard and Dick; and one sister-in-law, Ruth, are deceased.
He was a member of Christ Covenant Church in Bourbonnais.
He enjoyed gardening and bird watching.
Kathryn Girot
45-year employee of Joliet firm
BRAIDWOOD -- Private visitation and services for Kathryn O. "Toots" Girot, 88, of Braidwood, will be held at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Braidwood Chapel. Rev. Steve Bondi will officiate.
Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery, Braidwood.

Mrs. Girot died Wednesday (March 27, 2002).
Mrs. Girot retired in 1979 from Deaton Kennedy in Joliet after 45 years of service.
She was born March 25, 1914, in Torino, the daughter of Thomas and Kathryn Bersano Nagra.
Her husband, Raymond Girot, whom she married
June 21, 1941, in Joliet, is deceased.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Rae and John Taylor of Braidwood; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Charles Girot and Russell Girot, both of Coal City; one sister-in-law, Florence Nagra of Morris; and several nieces and nephews.
Her stepfather, William Conway; six brothers and three sisters-in-law, Frank and Lena Nagra, Bernard and Edith Nagra, John Nagra, Thomas Nagra, Joseph and Grace Nagra and Clarence Nagra; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and Frank Compasso and Marie and Rebell DiBartolomeo, are deceased.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Morris.
Marcia Brenneisen
CHEBANSE -- Visitation for Marcia S. Brenneisen, 82, of Chebanse, will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Knapp Funeral Home, Clifton.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Church of Chebanse, where she was a member. Rev. Dennis Brayman will officiate.
Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. Brenneisen died Wednesday (March 27, 2002) at Merkle-Knipprath Catholic Home, Clifton.
She was born Jan. 4, 1920, in Kankakee, the daughter of Frank and Minnie Haselow Emme. Her parents are deceased.
Her husband, Frank E. Brenneisen, whom she married
in 1937, in Lafayette, Ind., died March 14, 1983.
Surviving are one daughter, Janet Brenneisen of Chebanse; one son and daughter-in-law, Fredrick "Fritz" and Lois Brenneisen of Chebanse; two sisters, Mabel Schatz and Darlene LaReau, both of Chebanse; six grandchildren, Mary Demaegd of Lake Villa, Paula Franklin of St. Anne, James Aaker of Pensacola, Fla., Thomas Aaker of Roscoe, Bob Brenneisen of Springfield, David Brenneisen of Chebanse; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Six brothers; one sister; and one son, Bobby Brenneisen, are deceased.
Mrs. Brenneisen had been a cook for Central Unit 4.
She was a member of the Harmony Circle of the United Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and sewing. (Pd.)

LAKE VILLAGE, Ind. -- Margaret Anderson, 91, of Lake Village, Ind., formerly of St. Anne, died Tuesday (March 26, 2002) at Crestmark Nursing Home in Roselawn.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Augusta Catholic Church, Lake Village. Rev. John Cummings will officiate.
Cremation rites will be accorded by the Heritage Crematory in Portage, Ind.
Sheets Funeral Home, Lowell, Ind. are in charge of arrangements.
She was born Feb. 19, 1911, in St. Anne, the daughter of John and Margaret O'Donnell.
Her husband, Henry Anderson, is deceased.
Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Doris and Bill Phelps, Mary Christenson, all of Momence, Carol and Chuck Street of Las Vegas, Nev.; one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Shirley Anderson of Momence; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and one sister are deceased.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of the St. Augusta Guild.
She enjoyed making coffee and visiting with friends.
Raymond Lampley
Services for Raymond Lampley, 94, of Bourbonnais, were held March 25 at the Bourbonnais Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes. Rev. Stephen Wilkinson officiated.
Mr. Lampley died March 22, 2002.
Burial was in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were Kevin and Keith Demers, Tim Wright, Frank Sedlock, Ray Schluter and Jeff McClellan.

Mr. Monahan died March 23, 2002.
