Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Thursday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Manteno.
A Liturgy of the Word will be held Friday morning at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Peotone.

DANFORTH -- Carolyn W. Kohlman, 85, of Danforth, died Monday (March 25, 2002) at her home.
Arrangements are pending at Redenius Funeral Home, Gilman.
Carroll Eastman

ST. ANNE -- Visitation for Carroll "Fuzz" Eastman, 70, of St. Anne, will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley or to the Merkle-Knipprath Nursing Home, Clifton.
Mr. Eastman died Monday (March 25, 2002) at the Merkle-Knipprath Nursing Home.
Mr. Eastman was a self-employed farmer for over 40 years.
He was born Sept. 19, 1931, in Minneapolis, Minn., the son of Vance and Lucille Eastman Kime.
Surviving are two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Betty Stang of St. Anne, Jeanie and Roger Brown of Kankakee, Duane Gates of Kankakee; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Sharon Kime of Kankakee, Gary and Carel Kime of St. Anne; and several nieces and nephews.
One sister, Norma Gates; one brother-in-law, Bill Stang; and his biological mother, Thelma Eastman, are deceased.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the honor guard in Washington for two years. He was a member of the Aroma Park American Legion.
He was a member of the Methodist faith and the Aroma Boating Association.
He enjoyed fishing.
Clyde Loeffelbein
Visitation for Clyde L. Loeffelbein, 75, of Port Saint Lucie, Fla., formerly of Kankakee, will be from 10:30 a.m. April 6 until the 11 a.m. services in the chapel at the Mound Grove cemetery, Kankakee. Rev. Karl Koeppen will officiate.
Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where he was a lifelong member.

Mr. Loeffelbein died Sunday (March 24, 2002) at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, Ft. Pierce, Fla.
He was born Dec. 19, 1926, in Kankakee, the son of Walter and Esther Friedewald Loeffelbein.
Surviving are first cousins, Allen "Bud" and Delores Friedewald of Port Saint Lucie, Fla., Buster and Betty Coakley of Dublin, Calif. and Helen Cravens of Aurora.
Mr. Loeffelbein had been a longtime employee of St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee.

WATSEKA -- Elinor Janice Buss Fox, 78, of Watseka, died today (March 26, 2002) at her home.

George Williamson

L'ERABLE -- Visitation for George F. Williamson, 77, of L'Erable, formerly of Kankakee, will be from 2 p.m. Wednesday until the 7 p.m. services at Fitzpatrick Funeral Directors. Deacon Joseph Cotugno will officiate. A 6:30 p.m. Masonic service will be held.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 1, at Abraham Lincoln National cemetery, Elwood. Honorary pallbearers will be active and retired city firefighters and members of Torpedo Squadron Six of the U.S. Navy.
Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
Mr. Williamson died Sunday (March 24, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center emergency room in Kankakee after a sudden illness.
Mr. Williamson was a fireman for the city of Kankakee for 26 years achieving the rank of captain. He retired in 1982 having received numerous commendations and citations.
He was born Sept. 30, 1924, in Centralia, the son of Ralph and Elsie Jayne Williamson. His parents and stepmother, Fern, are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Patricia McKenna, whom he married
Oct. 15, 1967, at Asbury United Methodist Church, of L'Erable; two sisters, Virginia Naese and Marie Reynolds, both of Kankakee; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Michelle and John Paris of Kankakee, Erin and John Hall of Elburn, Tara and Derek Potter of Danville, Tracy Serrano and fiance, Rick Henderson of Ohio; two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Cheryl Leader of Bourbonnais, Thomas and Dianne Leader of So. Carolina; 13 grandchildren, Elaina and Amanda Roth, Paige and John Hall III, Heather Schultz, Loryn and Allison Potter, Mathew and Anthony Serrano, Erika and Sean Leader, Michael and Daniel Leader; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Harriet and Tom Hamilton of Columbia City, Ind.; several nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Gary Naese and his wife, Wendy.
He served in World War II and the Korean War in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy he flew more than 16 combat missions and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.
He was a member of the Kankakee Masonic Lodge 389, a Master Mason, York Rite Mason and received his 32nd degree from the Danville Consistory. He was also a member of the Medinah Temple in Chicago.
He was a life member of the Kankakee VFW 2867 and belonged to the Aroma Park American Legion.
He was a member of the Aroma Park Boat Club where he held several offices.
He enjoyed boating and remodeling his house. (Pd.)

CLIFTON -- Mercedes D. Hasemeyer, 72, of Clifton, formerly of Bourbonnais, died Monday (March 25, 2002) at her home after an extended illness.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p..m. Thursday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais.
A Liturgy of the Word will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Maternity BVM Catholic Church, Bourbonnais.

ASHKUM -- Visitation for Ronald L. Prindle, 43, of Ashkum, will be from 3 p.m. Wednesday until the 6 p.m. services at the Hertz-Thoma Funeral Chapel, Kankakee. Rev. Terry Tackett will officiate.

Memorials may be made to his children's education fund.
Mr. Prindle died Sunday (March 24, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee.
Mr. Prindle was a carpenter and member of Union Local 434.
He was born Sept. 11, 1958, in Kankakee, the son of Jesse and Erma Clark Prindle. His father is deceased.
Surviving are two sons, Ron L. Prindle and Mike Prindle, both of Clifton; his mother of Ashkum; one stepbrother, Michael Prindle; and several aunts and uncles.
He was a member of Clifton Baptist Church.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mary Deany
CULLOM -- A funeral Mass for Mary C. Deany, 85, of Cullom, was celebrated March 16 at St. John's Catholic Church, Cullom. Rev. Thomas Holloway officiated and Rev. Dick Brunskill delivered the homily.
Mrs. Deany died March 12, 2002.
Burial was in St. John's cemetery, Cullom. Pallbearers were Jim, Chuck, John, Larry, Kevin and Blake Deany.
Leafa Green
Services for Leafa "Peg" L. Green, 78, of Bradley, were held March 25 at the Hertz-Thoma Funeral Chapel, Kankakee. Rev. Thomas Wilber officiated.
Mrs. Green died March 22, 2002.
Burial was in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were Howard, Bill and Jim Page, Steve Embree, Dave Graeber and Robbie and Chris Bourassa.
Violetta Bell

Visitation for Violetta Mae Bell, 87, of Kankakee, known for her many community activities, will be from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Hertz-Thoma Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mound Grove Gardens cemetery Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the Taylor Schoolhouse at Gov. Small Memorial Park in Kankakee, the Salvation Army or to the Media Associates International.
Mrs. Bell died Sunday (March 24, 2002) at Miller Center, Kankakee.
She was born May 30, 1914, in Staunton, the daughter of Arch Paul and Julia Mabel Lippold Menk.
He husband, Donald Clayton Bell, whom she married
June 6, 1944, "D" Day, died Aug. 24, 1963.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Sharyl J. and Dennis R. Sieh of Wheaton; and three grandsons, Stephen R. and David A. Sieh, both of Wheaton, and Michael A. Sieh of Nashville, Tenn.
An infant daughter, Cheryl; and one brother, Elray William Menk, are deceased.
Mrs. Bell retired from the Kankakee County treasurer's office Dec. 31, 1974.
She was secretary of the Kankakee Horizon Committee for the 1976 Kankakee County historical bicentennial and acting chairman for re locating and furnishing the one-room Taylor Schoolhouse which was moved to Gov. Small Memorial Park.
Mrs. Bell was a 66-year member of the First United Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for 17 years and secretary/treasurer for four years.
She was a charter member of the Kankakee Emblem Club 414, serving in many offices; a member of Orion Shrine 44, serving as worthy high priestess and supreme courier; and past president of both the Past High Priestess Club and Queens Attendants Club. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chaper 268.
She was a leader for the Brownies, Girl Scouts and a 4-H leader for 14 years. She was past president of the Kankakee Unit of Home Extension and a member of the Kankakee County Fair Association and County 4-H Committee chairman in 1963.
She was a charter member of the Riverview Twig of Riverside Medical Center Auxiliary and a member of the Holly Twig. She was a member of the Tuesday Book Club, Friends of the Kankakee Public Library, a life member of the Kankakee County Historical Society; and a member of the Kankakee County Farm Bureau and The International Zonta Club.
She was active in Kankakee County Senior Citizens and the Seniors of the Salvation Army. She was a volunteer for RSVP Program of Catholic Charities, the Provena Heritage Retirement House and Meals on Wheels.
She was a graduate of Kankakee High School in 1932 and the Gallagher Business College in 1934.
She and her husband operated a poultry farm for 15 years.
She was interested in centennial farms and traveled widely in Europe, Asia and all the U.S. states.
Virginia Polley
Virginia Polley, 93, of Kankakee, died Monday (March 25, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center.
There will be no visitation or services.
Cremation rites will be accorded.

She was born May 14, 1908, in Chicago, the daughter of Daniel J. and Isabelle Connell Sullivan.
Her husband, Robert Polley, whom she married
Aug. 10, 1962, in Long Beach, Calif., died in 1981.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Shirley Fitzsimons of Kankakee, Robert and Mary Fitzsimons of Columbia, S.C.; one sister, Antoinette Hynes of Tinley Park; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
One brother, Daniel J. Sullivan Jr., is deceased.
Mrs. Polley was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Kankakee.
