SHELDON - Services for Mary Mae Muller, 74, of Sheldon, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Knapp Funeral Home in Sheldon. Rev. Neil Larimore will officiate.
There will be no visitation. Friends may greet the family at the Masonic Lodge in Sheldon following the service.
Entombment will be at Sheldon Mausoleum.

Mrs. Muller died Thursday (March 14, 2002) at Iroquois Resident Home in Watseka.
She was born April 2, 1927 in Watseka, the daughter of William G. and Mabel M. Hoagland Armstrong.
Surviving are her husband, Harry "Hack" Muller, whom she married
Sept. 1, 1949 in Watseka, of Sheldon; one daughter and son-in-law, Melodee and John Jr. Davenport of Watseka; and several cousins.
Mrs. Muller was a member of Watseka Eastern Star No. 217, and enjoyed traveling, the outdoors and animals.
Donald Betourne

Visitation for Donald J. Betourne, 87, of Bourbonnais, will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Kankakee, where he was a member.
Burial will be in All Saints cemetery, Bourbonnais.
Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church or to the Clerics of St. Viator.
Mr. Betourne died Monday (March 18, 2002) at Provena Heritage Village.
He retired as executive director of the CYO after 25 years and was a field representative for Gallagher Business College.
He was born Feb. 27, 1915, in Bourbonnais, the son of Philip and Frances McElroy Betourne.
Surviving are his wife, the former Alexine Holwell, whom he married
June 22, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa; four daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Cannon of Sacramento, Calif., Jacqueline O'Connor of Kankakee, Mary Christine and David Gedmin of Albuquerque, N.M., Theresa Carner of Kankakee; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Everett and an infant brother; and one great-grandson, Luke Hansen, are deceased.
He attended St. Rose School and was a graduate of Kankakee High School and St. Viator College.
He was a former Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degree member.
Kenneth Hoffmann

GRANT PARK -- Visitation for Kenneth M. Hoffmann, 80, of Grant Park, will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Cotter Funeral Home, Momence, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. Rev. Walter Griesmeyer will officiate.
Burial, with military rites by the Momence Honor Guard, will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Mr. Hoffmann died Tuesday (March 19, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee.
He was a retired office manager at Park Manufacturing in Grant Park and for 15 years he was a sales representative for Suburban Beauty Supplies in Bradley.
He was born June 9, 1921, in Grant Park, the son of John L. and Emma Hamann Hoffmann.
Surviving are his wife, the former Marjorie A. Craft, whom he married
Sept. 3, 1943, in Kankakee, of Grant Park; one son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie and Nanette Hoffmann of Momence; one daughter, Suzanne Bruns of Grant Park; and four grandchildren.
Two brothers and one sister are deceased.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran serving in India during World War II. He was a life member of the Momence VFW Post 7535 and past commander of the Grant Park American Legion Post 295.
He was also a member of the Momence Anchor Club and a board member for the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.
He enjoyed golfing and fishing.

MANTENO -- Services for Clarence D. "Mo" Moranz, 71, of Manteno, formerly of St. Anne and Bourbonnais Township, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Senesac Kankakee Funeral Home. Rev. Ed Hedling and Deacon Joe Cotugno will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Virginia G. LaBarge, 83, of Kankakee, died Tuesday (March 19, 2002) at Provena Heritage Village, Bourbonnais.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, with a 7 p.m. wake service at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Kankakee, where she was a member. Rev. Dennis Settles will officiate.
Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery.

She was born Feb. 24, 1919, in Kankakee, the daughter of William and Nellie Milan Hart. Her parents are deceased.
Her husband, Louis "Boo" LaBarge, whom she married
Aug. 31, 1940, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Kankakee, died Sept. 21, 1991.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Sharyl and Don Richmond of Kankakee; three grandchildren, Brien and Melissa Richmond of Fishers, Ind., Todd and Lisa Richmond of Bourbonnais, Nicole and Bryan Gray of Kankakee; and four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Emily and Ainsley.
Four brothers, Harley, Robert, Kenneth and Wilbur; and two sisters, Maize Meier and Inez Somers, are deceased.
Mrs. LaBarge was a retired employee of Illinois Bell Telephone Company.
She enjoyed reading and playing cards.

AROMA PARK -- Services for Ina Mae Lamb, 66, of Aroma Park, were held March 19 at the Salvation Army. Majors Beth and Ben Stillwell, her daughter and son-in-law officiated.
Mrs. Lamb died March 15, 2002.
Burial was in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers were Adam Ehrman, Ricki Justice, Josh Stillwell, Jeremy Norton, Ray Guerra, Spencer Barnard Jr. and David Libby.

SPRINGFIELD - Doris M. Bishop, 75, of Springfield, and the mother of area residents, died Saturday (March 16, 2002) at her home.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel, 800 S. Grand West, Springfield, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Rev. John Hamilton will officiate.
Burial will be in Oak Ridge cemetery, Springfield.

She was born Jan. 9, 1927, in Marion County, the daughter of Ray E. and Inez M. McMeen Craig.

March 25, 1951, in Sandoval; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Michelle Bishop of College Station, Texas, Craig and Joan Bishop of Seymour, Ind.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Jim Waters of Bourbonnais, Denise and Rick Elliott of Kankakee; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Craig and James Craig, both of Tucson, Ariz.; one sister, Mary Jane Judds of Lincoln, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews.
One grandson is deceased.
Mrs. Bishop was a member of Laurel United Methodist Church and a volunteer at Memorial Medical Center and the University of Illinois, Springfield auditorium.

CLIFTON - Jerry C. Rawlings Jr., 26, of Clifton, died Saturday (March 16, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital emergency room, Kankakee, from injuries received in an auto accident.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 11 a.m. Wednesday until the 1 p.m. services at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery.

He was born June 18, 1975, in Kankakee, the son of Gerald C. Sr. and Debbie Johnson Rawlings.
Surviving are his wife, the former Sarah Ellen Kemp, whom he married
May 19, 2000, in Kankakee, of Clifton; his parents of Kankakee; two sisters, Tammy Rawlings and Patty Rawlings, both of Kankakee; one brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Danielle Rawlings of Kankakee; best friend, Don "Putt" Raines of Crescent City; and one nephew and four nieces.
His paternal grandparents, Floyd and Pauline Rawlings; and maternal grandparents, Elmer and Iola Johnson, are deceased.
Mr. Rawlings worked for Gould Battery and Christensen Auto Parts.
He was a member of NRA and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and cars.

HERSCHER - Visitation for Mary Elizabeth Schwark, 106, a life-time resident of Herscher, was from 10 a.m. today until the 11 a.m. services at Trinity Lutheran Church in Herscher. Rev. Gary Ruckman officiated.
Burial was in Trinity Lutheran cemetery in Herscher.

Mrs. Schwark died Thursday (March 14, 2002) at Provena Heritage Village.
She was born Nov. 19, 1895 in Pilot Township, the daughter of Fred L. and Sophie Kraft Mau.
Her husband, William J. Schwark, whom she married
Jan. 19, 1919 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Herscher, is deceased.
Several nieces and nephews survive.
Three brothers, Arthur, Harry and Clarence Mau; and one sister, Lucy Clodi, are deceased.
Mrs. Schwark was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid, Sewing Circle and Trinity A.A.L., and enjoyed playing cards until the age of 103.

CUSTER PARK - Richard E. Caise, 69, of Custer Park, died Saturday (March 16, 2002) at the Hope Hospice Health North in Cape Coral, Fla.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Caise retired in 1989 from Caterpillar, Inc. in Joliet after 38 years of service.
He also was one of the originators of the Custer Township Fire Department.
He was born Nov. 21, 1932, in Cabery, the son of Frank and Beulah Quayle Caise.
Surviving are his wife, the former Janet Shenk, whom he married
Dec. 26, 1953, in Braidwood; one brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Mary Caise of North Fort Myers, Fla.; and nephews and one niece.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Braidwood; the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 241 in Wilmington; and the Moose Legion.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling.

Mr. Cox died Saturday (March 16, 2002) at Miller Health Care.
He was born Sept. 17, 1912, in Kankakee County, the son of Owen and Telena Block Cox.
His wife, the former Lucille Jacob, whom he married
Sept. 25, 1934, in Clifton, is deceased.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Gerald Paquette of Bourbonnais; one stepdaughter, Mary Lou and Marwood King of Essex; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Cox of Kankakee; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters.
One daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Roger Tibbs; one brother, Dean Cox; and one sister, Marion Graves, are deceased.
Mr. Cox had been a tire mechanic.
He enjoyed music.
