CISSNA PARK -- Emma M. Schmid, 84, a lifetime Cissna Park resident, died Friday (Dec. 27, 2002) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka.
Private graveside services will be held Monday.
Burial will be in German Apostolic Christian cemetery in Cissna Park.
Knapp Funeral Home in Cissna Park is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Schmid was born Aug. 22, 1918 in Cissna Park, the daughter of Louis and Lydia Moser Neukomm.
Surviving are her husband, Daniel W. Schmid, whom she married
Dec. 10, 1944 in Cissna Park; six sons, Benjamin Schmid of Munster, Ind., Kenneth Schmid of Milford, Aaron, Marvin and Mark Schmid, all of Cissna Park, Richard Schmid of Rankin; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Kathryn Schmid, Lois and Ray Steiner Jr., all of Cissna Park, Norma and Ronald Fehr, Lorene and Dennis Slagel, all of Fairbury; Lydia and Ron Brown of Kankakee; three brothers, Aaron and Louis Neukomm, both of Cissna Park, Harold Neukomm of Fairbury; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Edward Kaeb, Elizabeth and Norman Maul, all of Cissna Park; 51 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
One brother and one son are deceased.
Mrs. Schmid was a member of German Apostolic Christian Church in Cissna Park.
Mable Schmidt
DANVILLE -- Mable M. Schmidt, 90, of Kankakee, formerly of Danville, died Thursday (Dec. 26, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. today at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, where services will be at 2 p.m. Monday.
Memorials may be made to the Westside Nazarene Church, where he was a member.
Mrs. Schmidt was born July 20, 1912 in Danville, the daughter of Timothy and Lizzie Pate Huffman.
Her husband, Edward E. Schmidt, whom she married
Oct. 17, 1934 in Danville, died July 25, 1986.
Survivors include one son, Edward W. Schmidt of Danville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Richard Neufeld of Kankakee, Alice and Tom Wright of Bismarck; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
One son, two brothers and two sisters are deceased.
Mrs. Schmidt was a member of Westside Church of the Nazarene.
She enjoyed flowers, reading, cooking and going for walks.
Anna Stepanek
COAL CITY -- Anna Marie Stepanek, 56, of Coal City, died Friday (Dec. 27, 2002) at her home.
Visitation will be from noon Monday until the 8:30 p.m. service at R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes Ltd., Braidwood Chapel. Rev. Larry Schreffler will officiate.
Graveside committal services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Olivet cemetery in Wilmington.
Mrs. Stepanek was born April 12, 1946 in Knoxville, Tenn., the daughter of Courtland J. and Mary Louise Brogdon. Her father is deceased.
Surviving are her husband, Louis Stepanek of Coal City; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Alana Jackson of Lake Zurich; two daughters and one son-in-law, Juanita and Derek Eller of Braidwood, Karen McVickers of Reddick; three stepchildren, Lori and Richard Danner, Kristy and John Arabito, Louis Jr. and Donna Stepanek, all of Oak Lawn; many grandchildren; her mother and step-father, Mary Louise and Vernon Beers of Knoxville, Tenn.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Debbie Brogdon of Coal City, Ronald and Mary Ellen Brogdon of Carol Stream, Larry and Lesly Beers of Annapolis, Md.; and nieces and nephews.
Audrey Swinson
MILFORD -- Audrey M. Swinson, 71, of Milford, died Friday (Dec. 27, 2002) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the 11 a.m. service at Knapp Funeral Home in Milford. Rev. Neil Larimore will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery in Milford.
Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospital Emergency Room or Magnolia Wood Health Care Center in Watseka.
Mrs. Swinson was born June 2, 1931 in Buda, the daughter of Arthur A. and Calla M. Sheer Poff. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Ken Kurtz of Bourbonnais; one son, Neal Swinson of Burnette, Texas; one sister, Cleo Edwards of DeKalb; one brother, Everett Poff of Thompson Falls, Mont.; one sister-in-law, Maxine Poff of Weldon; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
One brother, Howard Poff, and one granddaughter are deceased.
Mrs. Swinson enjoyed gardening, reading, watching humming birds and playing cards.
Florence Thorson
DWIGHT -- Florence M. Thorson, 65, of Dwight, died Friday (Dec. 27, 2002) at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Dwight. Rev. Daniel Ognoskie will officiate.
Inurnment will be in Abraham Lincoln National cemetery in Elwood.
Memorials may be made to the Florence Thorson Memorial Fund in care of the family.
Arrangements are by Hager Memorial Home in Dwight.
Mrs. Thorson was born Oct. 29, 1937, in Dwight, the daughter of Virgil G. Sr. and Margaret J. McKune Stacy. Her parents are deceased.

Nov. 5, 1967 in Las Vegas, Nev.; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Esther Taylor, Nancy and Claude Stephens, Janice and Darrel Stewart, Marcia and Bob DeMarse, all of Dwight; two brothers, William Stacy of Dwight, Curtis R. Stacey of Diamondhead, Miss.; and many nieces and nephews.
One sister, Emma James, and one brother, Virgil Jr., are deceased.
Mrs. Thorson was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Dwight.
She was a former bookkeeper employed by Dwight Lumber and Rodosky Accounting.
She was a member of the Dwight VFW Auxiliary.
Clarence West
Clarence J. West, 92, of Kankakee, died Friday (Dec. 27, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. today at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais, where services will be at 10 a.m. Monday. Rev. Dennis Settles will officiate.
Burial will be in Limestone cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Limestone Fire Station.
Mr. West retired from International Harvester, where he was a mechanic, and maintained the Limestone School buses for many years.
He was born Nov. 20, 1910 in Braidwood, the son of William and Pauline Bukowski West.
His wife, the former LaVanche McGillvary, whom he married
Nov. 28, 1935 in Goodrich, died in January 2000.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert West of Kankakee, Roger and Rita West of Bonfield; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Duane Ferris, Cheryl and Dino Helopoulos, all of Bonfield; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Four brothers, Felix, Sam, Tom and Frank West; and three sisters, Harriet Kelsey, Ann Dwyer and Helen Melbourn, are deceased.
Mr. West was a veteran of World War II, serving as chief mechanic at Elwood where the army ammunition plant was located.
He attended St. Rose Catholic Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Willie Fulton
Services for Willie Mae "Rabbit" Fulton, 76, of Kankakee, were held Dec. 28 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. William H. Copeland Jr. officiated.
Mrs. Fulton died Dec. 21, 2002.
Burial was in Mt. Calvary cemetery. Pallbearers were Skye and Antoine Felix, Micheal Barnett, Vincent and Stewart Williams and Damon Baker.
Mrs. Fulton was the daughter of Albert Short and Lou Ellen Ball.
She was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Geneva Dent; one grandson, Curtis Frank Jones; and two granddaughters.

A funeral Mass for Jon Paul "JP" Loiselle, 61, of Bradley, was celebrated Dec. 27 at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Kankakee. Rev. Gregor Gorsic officiated.
Mr. Loiselle died Dec. 22, 2002.
Burial was in Mt. Calvary cemetery, Kankakee. Pallbearers were Dick O'Brecht, Tom Sovinski, Jens Mogensen, Bob Bossert, Dave Boheme, Dave Johnson, Mike Randazzo and Randy Ayers.
Alma Hasselbring

Mrs. Hasselbring died Dec. 22, 2002.

Gregory Gund
Services for Gregory L. Gund, 44, of Bradley, were held Dec. 27 at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. Rev. John Quinn officiated.
Mr. Gund died Dec. 23, 2002.

Theodore Patchett

Mr. Schneider died Dec. 24, 2002.
Burial was in Sts. Peter and Paul cemetery in Herscher. Pallbearers were Robert Jr., Jeffery and Jason Schneider, Romey LeBeau, Gary LeCocq and Leon Malone. Honorary pallbearers were Adam and Chet Schneider and Johnny LeCocq.

MOMENCE -- Lillian A. Ashline, 85, of Momence, formerly of Bradley, died Saturday (Feb. 15, 2003) in Momence.
Visitation was from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Senesac Kankakee Funeral Home, where services were held at noon today. Rev. Tom Tate officiated.
Burial was in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery in Kankakee. Pallbearers were her grandchildren, Bob, Jay and John Ashline, Brian and Todd Peters and Theresa Rodgers.

Mrs. Ashline was a homemaker.
She was born June 1, 1917 in Kankakee, the daughter of Herman and Margaret Gigl Brueggert. Her parents are deceased.
