MINONK -- Patricia "Pat" A. Cherveny, 65, of Minonk, and the mother of a Dwight resident, died Saturday (Feb. 15, 2003) at BroMenn Healthcare Center in Normal.
Visitation will be from 9-9:45 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Minonk, followed by the 10 a.m. celebration of the funeral Mass. Monsignor John J. Prendergast will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom McKay, Christopher, Clinton, Eric and Jake Cherveny and Daniel Martin.
Ms. Cherveny had worked at Thatcher's Glass in Streator for many years.
She was born Nov. 27, 1937, the daughter of John and Bernice Cleary McKay. Her parents are deceased.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dean Cherveny of Dwight, John "Mike" and Debbie Cherveny of Kangley; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother and sister-in-law, John R. and Kay McKay of Minonk.
One son, Mark Cherveny, is deceased.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Minonk and a former member of Immaculate Conception Church in Streator.
Dorotha Conrad
SHELDON -- Visitation for Dorotha M. Conrad, 87, of Sheldon, will be from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the 3 p.m. services at the Knapp Funeral Home in Sheldon. Joe Hughes will officiate.
Burial will be in the Sheldon cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Mrs. Conrad worked at Value Village for many years.
She died Saturday (Feb. 15, 2003) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka.
She was born Feb. 26, 1915, in Borden, Ind., the daughter of Bryon and Minnie Wade.
Her husband, Ollie H. Conrad, whom she married
April 1, 1934, in Borden, Ind., died Nov. 9, 1980.
Surviving are six sons and four daughters-in-law, Billie "Pete" and Madeline Conrad of Sheldon, Richard and Sharon Conrad of Donovan, Douglas and Janice Conrad of Indianapolis, Ind., James Conrad of Des Plaines, John and Joan Conrad of Monticello, Ind., Alan Conrad of Watseka; two daughters and one son-in-law, Janet "Jan" Conrad of Bourbonnais, Sharon and Jimmy Conrad Jackson of Sheldon; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Five brothers and one son are deceased.
Mrs. Conrad was a member of the Quilt Club of Sheldon and the Kentland Euchre Club.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing and playing cards.
Anthony Esch
MERRIONETTE PARK -- Anthony "Tony" E. Esch, 77, of Merrionette Park, and the father of a Bourbonnais resident, died Saturday (Feb. 15, 2003).
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Edgar Funeral Home, 10900 S. Cicero Ave. in Oak Lawn.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Terrance Catholic Church, 119th and Kostner, Alsip. Rev. Edward J. Barrett will officiate.
Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Esch was a 50-year member of the Plumbers Local 130 and former water commissioner of Alsip. He was currently water commissioner of Merrionette Park.
Surviving are his wife, the former Loretta F. Hall; four daughters and sons-in-law, Lenore and John Forbes of Chicago, Loretta "Cookie" and Alan Anderson, Antoinette "Toni" and James Talbert, all of Alsip, Sharon and Joseph Rojas of Bourbonnais; two sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony III "Sonny" and Teresa Esch of Alsip, Mark and Jane Esch of New Lenox; two brothers and one sister-in-law, George "Nobs" Esch, Victor "Buddy" and Eileen Esch; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lucy and Tony Lona, Patsey Bianco, Barbara "Bonnie" and Dave Hilker; 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
One sister-in-law, Agnes Esch; and one brother-in-law, Lou Bianco, are deceased.
Mr. Esch was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II.

CUSTER PARK -- Dennis T. Glavan Sr., 69, of Custer Park, formerly of Plainfield, died Saturday (Feb. 15, 2003) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. Tuesday until the 7 p.m. services at the Reeves Funeral Home in Wilmington. Rev. Nancy Pfaltzgraf will officiate.
Burial will be in the Plainfield Township cemetery.

Mr. Glavan retired from Kemlite Corp. in 1985.
He was born Dec. 10, 1933, in Joliet, the son of Frank and Mary Klancher Glavan. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Valerie and David Sarrizan of Custer Park, Lisa and George Paulson of Aurora, Colo.; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Glavan of Elizabeth, Colo., David and Susan Glavan of Spring, Texas; one sister-in-law, Delores (Louis) Tomazic of Joliet; one brother-in-law, Robert Burns of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are one son, Dennis T. Glavan Jr., who died in 1980; and one sister, Georgene Burns.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the VFW and American Legion, Braidwood Post.
Mr. Glavan was also a member of the Plainfield Congregational United Church of Christ.
He enjoyed collecting coins and sport cards, home repairs and the outdoors.

LIMESTONE -- Mary Jane Hults, 71, of Limestone, died Saturday (Feb. 15, 2003) at Provena Heritage Village in Kankakee.

Cremation rites were accorded.

She was born Nov. 3, 1931, in Kankakee. Her parents, Joseph Edmond Patnaude and Irene Mollie Bowden and stepfather, James Bowden, are deceased.

She was a member of the Catholic church and enjoyed crafts and shopping.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Tom McCann will officiate.
Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery in Watseka.

She was born July 10, 1918, in Gate City, Va., the daughter of Colonel and Cassie McDavid Hammond.

Her second husband, Carl Heuer, whom she married
June 21, 1947, died July 23, 1951.
Her third husband, Jacob Gerken, whom she married
Nov. 19, 1957, died May 6, 1989.
Her fourth husband, Robert Sapp, whom she married
Nov. 11, 1990, died July 29, 1992.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Johnnie and Kay Hoyer of Martinton; one daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Jim Luellen of Watseka; five stepchildren; two brothers, William Hammond of Kentland, Ind., Vern Hammond of Grover, Mo.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Nazarene Church of Watseka.

He was born Feb. 27, 1912, in Monee, the son of Harry P. and Helena Roeser Schultz.
His wife, Geraldine Guy Schultz, whom he married

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Francisco Hernandez of Monee, Judy and James Zappia of Valparaiso, Ind.; four grandchildren, Daniel Hughes, Robin Hughes, Meegan Zappia and Marissa Zappia; and two great-grandchildren.

She was born March 22, 1920, in Glasgow, Ky., the daughter of Roy and Gertrude Crabtree Word.
Her husband, Elmer Verkler, whom she married
