SHELDON -- Dorothy M. Conrad, 87, of Sheldon died Saturday (Feb. 15, 2003) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka.

Glen Cotner
WAPELLA -- Glen Elbert Cotner, 79, of Wapella, brother of a Watseka resident, died Tuesday (Feb. 4, 2003) at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Randolph Township cemetery in Heyworth. Rev. Richard Gray will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home in Heyworth is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Cotner was born April 19, 1923 in Lexington, the son of Ott and Dessa Ann Shickel Cotner.
His wife, the former Betty Jane Smith, whom he married
May 14, 1954 in Bloomington, died Nov. 27, 1992.
Surviving are one son, Calvin Glen Cotner of Chicago; two grandsons; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Marilyn Cotner, and Sterling and Lillian Cotner, all of Heyworth; and two sisters, Bessie Grant of Heyworth, and Wanda Cotner of Watseka.
His parents and four brothers, Robert, Ted, Fred and Roy Cotner, are deceased.
Mr. Cotner was an veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1941-1944.
He owned and operated the Route 51 Flea Market in Wapella since 1991.
David Edwin Grable
David Edwin Grable, 54, of Bourbonnais, died Friday (March 8, 2002) at his home.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Monday at the Bourbonnais Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes, 1100 N. Convent, and from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the 11 a.m. services at College Church of the Nazarene. Revs. Dan Boone and Luther Watson will officiate.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley or to the family wishes.
He was born Feb. 9, 1948, in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of Harold Ray and Ruth Hartman Grable. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Karla Kay Hayman, whom he married
June 29, 1968, in Zanesville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Trina and Matt Meyering of Bourbonnais, Tawni and Kyle Buente of Kankakee; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Rev. Patricia and Rev. Stephen Dixon and Rev. Melody and Rev. Michael Foster, all of Duncan Falls, Ohio, Rev. Vicki and Steve Morrison of Philo, Ohio; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon and Joy Grable of Bradley, Rev. Michael and Becky Grable of French Lick, Ind., Marty and Lisa Grable of Zanesville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Jacob and Jarrett Meyering of Bourbonnais; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clifford and June Hayman of Bourbonnais; and several nieces and nephews.
His grandparents are deceased.
Mr. Grable had been a Mac Tool Distributor and also worked at the Nazarene Credit Union as a regional director.
He was a very active member of the College Church of the Nazarene in Bourbonnais, where he was finance chairman. He was president of the church golf league and together with his wife and children sang in the church choir, of which he was a member. He also sang lead in the Key City Quartet.
Mr. Grable was studying to become a pilot.
He was president of the Monday Night Bowling League with the YMCA.
Henry C. Van Swol
MOMENCE - Henry C. Van Swol, 86, of Momence, died Friday (March 8, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Cotter Funeral Home, Momence.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church, Momence. Rev. William Steger will officiate.
Burial will be in Momence Cemtery.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Momence, where he was a member and Sunday School teacher.
He was born Nov. 20, 1915, in Blue Island, the son of Conrad and Ella Mulder Van Swol.
Surviving are his wife, the former Frances Holmberg, whom he married
April 7, 1939, in St. Anne, of Momence; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Nancy Van Swol, Alan and Deborah Van Swol, all of Momence, Philip and Betty Van Swol of Gibson City; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
One brother and two sisters are deceased.
Mr. Van Swol was a retired farmer.

Jean Ellerman, 89, of Bonfield, died Friday (March 8, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee.

Lawrence W. Cote
MARSEILLES - Lawrence W. Cote, 63, of Marseilles, formerly of Kankakee, died Thursday (March 7, 2002) at his home.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at the Seals-Campbell Funeral Home, 1009 E. Bluff St., Marseilles.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Marseilles, where he was a member. Rev. Bo Schmitt will officiate.
Burial, with military honors, will be in Riverview cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick, Todd and Christopher Cote, Tim Briner, Nathan, Crystal and Cameren Cote.
He was born July 14, 1938, in Kankakee, the son of Lawrence P. and Louise Gifford Cote. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Lee Rosendahl of Marseilles, whom he married
in 1960; one daughter, Debra (Tim) Briner of Rhinelander, Wis.; three sons, Rick (Lori) Cote of Plainfield, Todd (Tracey) Cote of Bremerton, Wash., Christopher Cote of Missouri City, Texas; five grandchildren, Nathan, Crystal and Cameren Cote, Steven and Angie Hernandez; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn Conway of Kankakee, Delores (Jim) Scime of Morton, Gloria (Harv) Risley of Bradley; and one brother, Dan (Sue) Cote of New Lenox.
One daughter, Mary Lee, died at birth.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1960.
Mr. Cote was employed by D&S; Foods for 20 years and was a member of the Meatcutters Local 1540.
He was a member of the Holy Name Society at his church and the Marseilles Lions Club.
Lillie Mae Johnson, 70, of Kankakee, died Friday (March 8, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center.
Visitation and funeral is tentatively set for Thursday at the New Jackson Tabernacle -2 in Kankakee.
Arrangements are by Fitzpatrick Funeral Directors.
Margaret M. Cornale Campo
COAL CITY - Margaret M. Cornale Campo, 81, of Coal City, died Friday (March 8, 2002).
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today at Ferrari Funeral Services, Coal City.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Assumption Catholic Church. Rev. Donald O'Connor will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery, Braidwood. Pallbearers will be Michael, Matthew and Marc Campo, David Giesinger, Marc Filigenzi and Stephen Notter.
Memorials may be made to the Assumption Church Building Fund.
She was born May 25, 1920, in South Wilmington.
Her husband, Louis M. Campo, whom she married
Aug. 1, 1942, died in 1995.
Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Cathryn Fleming of Coal City, Cindy and Steve Notter of Wilmington; one son and daughter-in-law, Louis and Judy Campo of Coal City; and six grandchildren.
One son-in-law, James Fleming, is deceased.
She was a 1938 graduate of Gardner-South Wilmington High School.
Mrs. Campo worked as an explosives operator at the Joliet Arsenal during World War II. She and her husband owned and operated Campo's Lounge in Diamond from 1957-1988, where she was known for her delicious Italian pizza.
She loved politics and was not only the first female precinct captain in Coal City, but was also the first woman elected to the Grundy County Board in 1978, where she served until 1990. She also served eight years on the "We Care" committee and four years on the United Fund.
She was one of the first area den mothers in the 1950's; she promoted the first live music hour, "Sing along with wine" at the Grundy County nursing home; and being instrumental in forming a student action program to help the elderly in the early 1970s.
She was a charter member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 1336 and a member of the Coal City Assumption Catholic Church.

DWIGHT - Mildred Hoffman, 89, of Dwight, died Saturday (March 9, 2002) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
Arrangements are pending at the Hager Memorial Home in Dwight.
JOLIET - Richard D. Naiden, 54, of Joliet, and the brother of a Coal City resident, died Tuesday (March 5, 2002) at his home.
Services were held March 9 at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church, Joliet.
Burial was in Resurrection cemetery, Romeoville.
He was born in Joliet, the son of John and Helen Skoff Naiden. His parents and stepfather, Frank Decman, are deceased.
Surviving are one sister, Sister Jude Mari Naiden O.S.F. of Lemont; five brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Linda Naiden of Coal City, Dennis and Mary Decman of Spring Grove, Daniel and Lillian Decman of California, Michael and Debbie Decman of Joliet, Ken and Nancy Decman of California; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Naiden was employed as a computer programmer. He was formerly employed as a math teacher at Hammond High School in Hammond, Ind.
Rosetta "Dolly" Bertrand
WATSEKA - Rosetta "Dolly" Bertrand, 84, of Watseka, died Friday (March 8, 2002) at the Leroy Manor Nursing Home in Leroy.
Arrangements are pending at the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home, Watseka.
Visitation for Sam P. Saulsberry, 66, of Kankakee, will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Lax Mortuary, and from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the 11 a.m. services at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. William H. Copeland Jr. will officiate.
Burial, with military rites by Amvets Post 113, will be in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery.
Mr. Saulsberry died Thursday (March 7, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 29, 1935, in Crawford, Miss., the son of Sam and Henrietta Baptist Saulsberry. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Laura James, whom he married
Aug. 18, 1966; one son, Dennis Saulsberry of Kankakee; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mariah and Joseph Dixon, Annie and Bobby Shelby, all of Kankakee; one brother, Nora Saulsberry of Kankakee; four sisters-in-law, Iris Saulsberry and Diana Saulsberry, both of Kankakee, Patty Perry and Lorean James, both of Columbus, Miss.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Eight sisters and three brothers are deceased.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Saulsberry retired Oct. 29, 2000 from Aventis Behring after 33 years of service.
He was an avid reader.
Anna C. Cook
SOUTH WILMINGTON - Anna C. Cook, 86, of South Wilmington, died Sunday (March 10, 2002) at Heritage Manor, Dwight.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, South Wilmington Chapel, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday.
Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner cemetery, Braceville. Pallbearers will be Christopher Cook, Dan and Mike Fraher, Terry Lewis and Mark and Bill Leadingham.
She was born Sept. 24, 1915, in Hartsburg, the daughter of Cassen and Louisa Ramlow Hummels.
Her husband, George DeTar Cook, whom she married
in October of 1945, is deceased.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, George Jr. and Janice Cook of Gardner, James Cook and friend, Carol, of South Wilmington; two grandsons and one great-grandson; one sister, Leona Jewett of Braidwood; and nieces and nephews.
One son, Herbert Cook; one brother, Cassen Hummels; and one stepbrother, Ray Hummels, are deceased.
Mrs. Cook had farmed in the Essex area with her husband and worked at the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant. She retired in 1986 from the Dwight Correctional Center where she had been employed for 22 years.
She loved all animals and enjoyed flowers and flower gardening.
