DWIGHT - Visitation for Mildred B. Hoffman, 89, of Dwight, will be from 10:30 a.m. Tuesday until the 11:30 a.m. services at Hager Memorial Home, Dwight. Rev. James Rickey will officiate.
A graveside committal service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Mt. Hope cemetery, McLean.

Mrs. Hoffman died Saturday (March 9, 2002) at Heritage Manor.
She was born April 4, 1912, in Atlanta, Ill., the daughter of Herbert and Bertha Jackson Crawford.
Her husband, Robert Hoffman, whom she married
Oct. 28, 1940, in St. Louis, Mo., is deceased.
One nephew, Richard Crawford survives.
One brother is deceased.
She attended Brown Business College in Bloomington.
Mrs. Hoffman had worked 43 years at the Correctional Center in Dwight.
She was a member of the Atlanta Christian Church and a 55-year member of the Eastern Star Holloy Chapter 183 Braidwood.
Nellie A. Lewis
ASHKUM - Nellie A. Lewis, 89, of Lehigh Acres, Fla., formerly of the Ashkum, Clifton and Chicago area, died Sunday (March 10, 2002) at the Lehigh Medical Center, Lehigh Acres, after a short illness.
Arrangements are pending at the Knapp Funeral Home, Clifton.
Robert V. "Bob" Carey
KINSMAN - Robert V. "Bob" Carey, 79, of Kinsman, died Sunday (March 10, 2002) at his home.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Reeves Funeral Home, Morris, and from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the 10 a.m. celebration of the funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Kinsman, where he was a member. Rev. Robert Maternowski will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery, Ransom.
Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, MVK Ambulance or to diabetes research.
He was a Grundy ASCS board member (FSA chairman for nine years) and member of the Kinsman Mutual Telephone Board, Kinsman Grade School Board, MVK Ambulance Board and Highland Township trustee.
He was born Sept. 13, 1922, in Morris, the son of Vince and Lucille Carr Carey.
Surviving are his wife, the former Catherine Venegone, whom he married
March 17, 1956, at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Streator; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Toni Carey of Morris, Pat and Susan Carey and Tim and Belinda Carey, all of Kinsman; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Jean Whamond of Schaumburg, Helen Dunn of Springfield, Margaret and Earl Kime of Dwight, Leo Miklos of Joliet; and several nieces and nephews.
One sister, Barbara Miklos, is deceased.
He was a 1940 graduate of Mazon High School.
Mr. Carey had farmed in Highland Township.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Society, Seneca Council Knights of Columbus.
Rosetta "Dolly" Bertrand
WATSEKA - Visitation for Rosetta "Dolly" Bertrand, 84, of Watseka, will be from 1 p.m. Wednesday until the 2 p.m. services at the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home, Watseka. Joe Hughes will officiate.
Burial will be in Body cemetery, Woodland.
Memorials may be made to the Dolly Bertrand Memorial Fund.
Mrs. Bertrand died Friday (March 8, 2002) at Leroy Manor Nursing Home in Leroy.
She was born May 15, 1917, in Woodland, the daughter of Charles W. and Luella Royer Walker.
Her husband, Guy Bertrand, whom she married
Dec. 24, 1952, in Watseka, died in 1996.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, George Jr. and Jean Cook of Leroy; one sister, Betty Howe of Hartsville, N.C.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
One brother; two sisters; and two daughters, Verna Perkins and Linda Richardson, are deceased.
Mrs. Bertrand was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Watseka.
Ruth M. Harnack
PEOTONE - Ruth M. Harnack, 87, of Peotone, died Sunday (March 10, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee, after a sudden illness.
Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Fedde-Helfrich Chapel, Peotone.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Peotone.
Visitation for Sam P. Saulsberry, 66, of Kankakee, will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Lax Mortuary, and from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the 10 a.m. services at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. William H. Copeland Jr. will officiate.
Burial, with military rites by Amvets Post 113, will be in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery.
Mr. Saulsberry died Thursday (March 7, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 29, 1935, in Crawford, Miss., the son of Sam and Henrietta Baptist Saulsberry. His parents are deceased.
Mr. Saulsberry retired Oct. 29, 2000 from Aventis Behring after 33 years of service.
Surviving are his wife, the former Laura James, whom he married
Aug. 18, 1966; one son, Dennis Saulsberry of Kankakee; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mariah and Joseph Dixon, Annie and Bobby Shelby, all of Kankakee; one brother, Nora Saulsberry of Kankakee; four sisters-in-law, Iris Saulsberry and Diana Saulsberry, both of Kankakee, Patty Perry and Lorean James, both of Columbus, Miss.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Eight sisters and three brothers are deceased.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He liked to read.
Stanley G. Wojcik
MOMENCE - Stanley G. Wojcik, 65, of Momence, died Saturday (March 9, 2002) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Cotter Funeral Home, Momence, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Denis White will officiate.
Burial, with military rites by the Momence Honor Guard, will be in the Momence cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
Mr. Wojcik owned and operated the Riverside Marine Sales for 30 years and retired from Owens International Harvester in South Holland.
He was born July 10, 1936, in Harvey, the son of Stanley and Anna Broneck Wojcik. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Sandra Weybright, whom he married
Dec. 23, 1983, in Kankakee, of Momence; one daughter, Colleen Lynch of Chicago; one sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Harold Stockley of New Lenox; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Milton and Beverly Weybright of Momence; and three grandchildren.
One brother is deceased.
He was former commodore of the Momence Anchor Club and a member of the Momence American Legion Post 40.
Bernice "Bea" Bury Johnson
FRESNO, Calif. - Bernice "Bea" Bury Johnson, 72, of Fresno, Calif., and a former area resident, died Friday (Feb. 22, 2002) after a long illness.
Services were held Feb. 25 at the Salvation Army Chapel in Fresno.
Burial was held at The Chapel of the Lights in Fresno.
She was born June 10, 1929, in Wellington, the daughter of John Henry and Maude Hayslett.
Ms. Johnson was a Realtor for Yosemite Country Properties.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jay Bury and Jon and Loreen Bury, all of Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Joe Alessandri of Fresno, Calif.; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Ada Minard of Venice, Fla., Addie DiTomaso and Frances McCarty, both of Watseka, Jeri Thaden of Kankakee; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Bill and Norma Hayslett of Steger, Barbara Hayslett of Milford; and many nieces and nephews.
Three brothers, Buck Hayslett, Cecil Hayslett and Lou Hayslett; and two sisters, Nellie McMillen and Blanche Franklin, are deceased.
She lived in the area for many years before moving to California.
Betty J. Crussen Printy
SHELDON - Graveside services for Betty J. Crussen Printy, 76, of Sheldon, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Sheldon cemetery. Rev. Gary Milton will officiate.
There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Crussen Printy died Friday (March 8, 2002) at Watseka Health Care Center.
She was born Nov. 16, 1925, in Milford, the daughter of Albert E. and Iva Miller Hartman.
Her first husband, Glenn Crussen, whom she married
Nov. 2, 1957, in Sheldon, died July 5, 1973.
Her second husband, Howard "Bud" Printy, whom she married
Nov. 16, 1974, died March 5, 1984.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Four brothers and three sisters are deceased.
Mrs. Crussen Printy was formerly employed at Western Condenser and UARCO for many years.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Watseka.
Ellen L. Lade
WATSEKA - Ellen L. Lade, 65, of Watseka, died today (March 12, 2002) at Northwestern Hospital, Chicago.

Harold W. Pinnow
Visitation for Harold W. Pinnow, 87, of Kankakee, will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hertz-Thoma Funeral Chapel, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Curt Boyer will officiated.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Mr. Pinnow died Monday (March 11, 2002) at Miller Healthcare Center.
He was born Feb. 27, 1915, in the same house he has live all his life in Kankakee, the son of August and Elsbeth Soechtig Pinnow.
Mr. Pinnow had been a parts manager for 26 years at Uptown Sales and had worked 14 years at Manteno Mental Health Center.
Surviving are his wife, the former Violet Splear, whom he married
June 15, 1940, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Kankakee; and two sons and daughters-in-law, David P. and Bonnie Pinnow of Kankakee and Harold G. and Diane Pinnow of Kempton.
Two sisters, Lois Porgler and Wilma Clark; and one stepsister, Dorothy Pinnow, are deceased.
Hester Teske
MILFORD - Visitation for Hester Teske, 81, of Milford, will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Knapp Funeral Home, Milford, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Brent Zastrow will officiate.

Mrs. Teske died Sunday (March 10, 2002) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, Watseka.
She was born June 28, 1920, in Little Liberty, Tenn., the daughter of William Att and Alice Wolfe Singleton.
Her first husband, George Calvin Fanning, died Oct. 17, 1997
Her second husband, Earl Teske, whom she married
Aug. 2, 1952, in Urbana, died March 3, 1992.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, George Fredrick and Jean Fanning of Milford; one daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Barry Bell of Watseka; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Six brothers and four sisters are deceased.
