James Joseph Watson

BRAIDWOOD - James Joseph Watson, 21, of Braidwood, died Sunday (March 10, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the 11 a.m. services at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Braidwood Chapel.

Burial will be in the Braceville-Gardner cemetery, Braceville.

Memorials may be made to a fund in his name at the Kankakee Federal Savings Bank located in Testa's IGA in Braidwood.

He was born Aug. 20, 1980 in Joliet.

Surviving are his mother, Wanda Griffin Watson of Wilmington; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Melissa and David Byrd of Valdosta, Ga., Angela Watson of Shannon Shores; one brother, John Watson of Braidwood; maternal grandparents, Helen Griffin of Payson and James Griffin of Quincy; maternal great-grandmother, Gertrude Thomas of Quincy; aunts, uncles, cousins and one nephew.

His father, James P. Watson, is deceased.

Mr. Watson was formerly employed as a carpenter with R-Way Contractors in Wilmington.

He played pool on the BCA Pool leagues.

He enjoyed fishing and working on vehicles and motorcycles.

Julia Claire Genovese

CRETE - Julia Claire Genovese, 89, of Crete, died Saturday (March 9, 2002) at St. James Hospital, Chicago Heights.

Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Beecher Funeral Home.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Peotone.

Burial will be in Assumption cemetery, Glenwood.

She was born March 3, 1912 in Chicago.

Mrs. Genovese was a volunteer at Ingalls Memorial Hospital from 1959-1988.

Her husband, John Genovese, is deceased.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Joan and James Lenzo of Alamo Gordo, N.M.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Betty Genovese of Beecher, Robert and Elizabeth Genovese of Minneapolis, Minn.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the International Order of Foresters.

Lillie Mae Johnson

Visitation for Lillie Mae Johnson, 70, of Kankakee, will be from 9 a.m. Thursday until the 11 a.m. services at New Jackson Tabernacle No. 2 COGIC, 668 E. Mulberry, Kankakee, where she was a member. Rev. Tommy Wright will officiate.

Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Fitzpatrick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Johnson died Friday (March 8, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 22, 1932, in Crystal Spring, Miss., the daughter of George and Marie Nevell Cooper.

Her first husband, Percy Brown, died in 1990.

Surviving are her husband, Nathaniel Johnson, of Chicago; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Nathaniel and Shirley Johnson of Kankakee, Tommy and Elouise Johnson of New Orleans, La., Larry Johnson and special friend, Berniece of Kankakee; two daughters, Juanita Green of Kankakee, Diane Brown of Mexico; five sisters and one brother-in-law, Georgia and Leroy Cook of Rockford, Ruth Williams of Kankakee, Shirley Leviston of Rockford, JoAnn Ford Box of Kankakee and Betty Jean Williams of Joliet; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Robert Cooper of New Orleans, La., Danny and Rosemary Cooper of Milwaukee, Wis., R.K. Cooper of Rockford, Wilhemenia Cooper of Kankakee; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; special niece, Bridget McKenney; and one aunt and uncle, Lillie Mae and Maymed Hicks of Ohio.

One son. three sisters, and one brother, are deceased.

Mrs. Johnson enjoyed reading her Bible.

Mary Ellen Brooke

HOMEWOOD - Mary Ellen Brooke, 87, a resident of Homewood for 20 years, and the mother of a Peotone resident, died Monday (March 11, 2002).

Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Friday at the Fedde-Helfrich Chapel, Peotone, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Michael Ginter will officiate.

Burial will be in Shrontz cemetery, Momence. Pallbearers will be LeRoy Sr. Donald, Daryle and Lewis Brooke Jr., Jeff Cook and Brian O'Connor.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

She was born Dec. 6, 1914, in Momence, the daughter of James and Mary Sherwood Golding.

Her husband, Lewis Brooke, whom she married Feb. 25, 1940, in Morocco, Ind., died in 1998.

Surviving are four sons and three daughters-in-law, LeRoy V. and Marge Brooke of Peotone, Lewis V. Jr. and Bernice Brooke of Franklin Grove, Donald Brooke of Madison, Wis., Daryle J. and Karen Brooke of New Mexico; one daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Charles Cook of Harvey; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren

One grandson, LeRoy V. Brooke Jr, died in 1990.

Robert H. Bredemeier

MOMENCE - Robert H. Bredemeier, 75, of Momence, died Monday (March 11, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee.

Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Thursday at the Hack Funeral Home, Beecher, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday. Rev. Beverly Zell will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Paul's cemetery, Beecher.

Memorials may be made to Momence Nursing Home.

He was born Sept. 12, 1926, in Momence Township, the son of Fred and Elsie Ohms Bredemeier.

Surviving are his wife, the former Elenor Wilkening, of Momence; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and James Divit of Momence; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Jack Jones of Momence; and one brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Sandy Bredemeier of Momence.

One son, Tom; and one brother, Russell, are deceased.

Mr. Bredemeier had been a farmer.

He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ.

Ruth M. Harnack

PEOTONE - Visitation for Ruth M. Harnack, 87, of Peotone, will be from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Fedde-Helfrich Chapel, Peotone.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Peotone, where she was a member.

Burial will be in Peotone cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ron Taylor, Duane Carder, Michael Panici and Russell Klipp. Honorary pallbearers will be Wilfred Belssner and Robert Busz.

Mrs. Harnack died Sunday (March 10, 2002) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee, after a sudden illness.

She was born May 19, 1914, in Will Township, the daughter of Mens and Anna Onken Toben.

Her husband, Clarence Harnack, whom she married Oct. 19, 1940, in Peotone, died in 1987.

Surviving are one daughter, Rita Ann Harnack of Peotone; one niece, Joyce McKay of Joliet; one nephew, Glen Pauling of Monee; and one cousin, Edward Onken of Peotone.

One sister, Elda Pauling; and two brothers, Arthur and Walter Toben, are deceased.

Steve Micienko

DWIGHT - Steve Micienko, 70, of Dwight, died Sunday (March 10, 2002) at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hager Memorial Home, Dwight, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery, Dwight.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

He was born Oct. 23, 1931, the son of Stephen and Johanna Micienko.

His wife, the former Katherine Stischek, whom he married Dec. 20, 1974, in Chicago, died May 25, 1994.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Ken Haryasz; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Steve and Debbie Micienko, Mark Micienko; two stepdaughters, Patsy and Linda; two stepsons, Al and Frank; two sisters, Mary and Claire; one brother, Eddie; dear friend, Heather; and one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Mr. Micienko was a retired freight dock worker.

He was a member of the Catholic church.

Ada A. Wessels

WATSEKA - Ada A. Wessels, 79, of Watseka, died Tuesday (March 12, 2002) at Magnolia Wood Healthcare Center, Watseka.

Cremation rites will be accorded.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Arrangements are by the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home, Watseka.

She was born Sept. 24, 1922, in Dalry, Scotland, the daughter of David and Ada Walker.

Her husband, Dennis O. Duggan, whom she married in 1948 in England, died Dec. 27, 1986.

Surviving are two daughters, Denise Rosenbrock of Chebanse, Jackie VanVleck of Watseka; one stepson, Dennis Duggan Jr. of Joliet; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

One brother is deceased.

Mrs. Wessels was a member of Watseka First Baptist Church.

WESTVILLE - Anna Rolinitis Newcome, 91, of Westville, and the aunt of a Momence resident, died Monday (March 11, 2002) at Momence Meadows Health Care.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Friday at the Wolfe Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 414 S. State St., Westville.

Cremation rites will be accorded following visitation.

Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.

Mrs. Newcome was a manager of Westville and Kickapoo Sports Wear retiring in 1962.

She was a seamstress.

She was born Dec. 11, 1910, in Shenandoah, Va., the daughter of John and Ann Dainesevage Rolinitis.

Her husband, Samuel T. Newcome, whom she married April 4, 1936, is deceased.

Surviving are three nephews, William J. (Sharon) Rolinitis of Venice, Fla., Darrell (Bernetta) Rolinitis of Westville, William J. Smrha of Momence; and one brother-in-law, John Smrha of Danville.

One sister, Helen Smrha; and three brothers, John, Bill and Veto Rolinitis, are deceased.

She attended George town schools.

Charles Virgil Wilson Sr.

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn - Charles Virgil Wilson Sr., 69, of Shelbyville, Tenn., formerly of Shawneetown, Ill. and the father of Manteno residents, died Friday (March 8, 2002).

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, with a 7 p.m. Masonic service by the Lessing Lodge of Evansville, Ind., at Vickery Funeral Chapel, Shawneetown, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday. Rev. Ron DeWitt will officiate.

Burial, with military rites by the Ridgway American Legion Post 596, will be in Westwood cemetery, Shawneetown.

Mr. Wilson had been a supervisor of Fisher Body in Willow Springs.

He was born April 9, 1932, in Shawneetown, the son of Adrian C. and Lola Proffer Wilson. His parents are deceased.

Surviving are his wife, the former Donna F. McMillen, whom he married June 30, 1973; four daughters, Tammy Carlon of Flower Mound, Texas, Brenda McLain of Manteno, Dawn VanDrunen of Lee's Summit, Mo., Lisa Wilson of Shelbyville; three sons, Charles Wilson Jr. and Carroll Wilson, both of Manteno, Darroll Wilson of Albuquerque, N.M.; one sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Robert Sheets of Evansville, Ind.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl and Elva Wilson of Shawneetown, Freddie and Sandy Wilson of Manteno, Harold and Georgia Wilson of Lockport; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

One son, Adrian "Skip" Wilson; infant son, Scot Allen Wilson; grandson, Brian Wilson; and brother, Adrian L. Wilson, are deceased.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Shelbyville; a 47 year member of the Manteno Masonic Lodge and the American Legion in Manteno.
